I have a single channel 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz Samsung RAM in my pc, My motherboard is dual channel compatible, my questions is, Is it okay if I buy a RAM with those exact specs from another brand or they will not work together properly? Is it a must to buy a 2x16GB kit?

Posted a while back asking if it was worth sacrificing my beer holder and chucking another SSD into my RAID, your thoughts were kinda mixed so i did it anyway just to be sure. After waiting all day copying 860GB off my raid and then back onto it again after the upgrade, i finally got round to running some synthetic tests, and it's looking good. As you can see from the attached screenshot, the array is now trading punches with my boot drive (Kingston Predator PCIe M.2 [AHCI]) which is kinda amusing. Im interested in how the 4K transfers are still so much higher on the PCIe drive though, can anyone explain that ? im curious as to how different buses affect different aspects of drive throughput. Obviously there is only one benchmark of the RAID shown here, i sadly lost the screenshot i took of the diskmark results of my array when it was just 2 SSD's, but from memory the seqential Q32 was about 1000MB/s on reads and about 550MB/s on writes, so a pretty good improvement there. From what i can tell i am already starting to see the fabled diminishing returns on the write speeds, but i am pretty happy with the boost to read speeds that i have gained from a 3rd SSD, as this RAID is where i have all my games installed. Now leaving the world of synthetic benchmarks, i tested game loading times from my RAID, again i dont have any numbers to compare to from the old setup cos, well, im not linus or slick, i don't think of this stuff lol. But i can say that in simulator type games like KSP or BeamNG, there does seem to be a noticable difference in loading times whether that be for levels, assets, or textures. But games like Battlefield or GTA and other "heavier" titles, don't seem to change at all. Is there something inherent about some programs or video games that means there is simply a cap on how fast it can load stuff from the installation directory ?

Hey. I've been here before for help and you guys were the best.. so, since i've got a MSI 1060 6Gb graphics card in my system and added more storage. I now find it is time to upgrade the aircooling.. didn't think i would be a problem, but this summer proved me wrong.. My afterburner tells me the fans on my graphics card is maxed out. and before something happens to it, i better do something. I got a Acer predator G3-605. Link to it's specs is down below. The case itself is passiv cooled.. My question is, how do I know if I can add two more fans to the motherboard? Hey guys somehow I hide the highlighter from the top toolbar and now it's gone. Every time I want to use it I now have to click in the right toolbar on comment and then highlighter. Can someone tell me how to put it into the top again? Thanks. -
I want to allow flash for a specific site, but I dont have the "add" box next to "allow" First, I would like be able to block/allow specific sites, and if possible I'd also like to be able to have flash enabled on every site. pic attached thx

I have a Dell Netextreme II Rk375 10g card I am trying to get connected on my plex/samba server. I have narrowed it down to what I believe is a driver issue not allow the card to read TCP/IP protocal on the system. I went to Qlogic and found the driver I need for the card and downloaded it. It is both in a tar ball and rpm format the problem is I have no idea how to get the drivers on the system from here. I was hope for a executable file (naive I know) but could not find one and I have no idea how to proceed from here can someone help me please. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Hp xw8600 workstation. I am only trying to set up a direct connection between my Gaming rig and the server.

I have an Asus Maximus Hero IX and 2x8 g.skill ddr4 3600mhz ram installed in slots b1 and b2 (with XMP enabled). I just bought another set of identical ram and put them in slots a1 and a2 and attempt booting up, but didnt post. Qcode threw 53 yellow at me, which says (50-53: memory initialization error, imvalid memory type, or invalid memory speed) i tried resetting the cmos, but same issues, and now the original pair of RAM that was working no longer boot in the original setup. What can i do? Can anybody help? I'm not sure if i reset the cmos correctly. I left the power cable in and the psu in the on position, then held the button for 5 seconds. Another thing i did wrong, call me an idiot, but i held the bios button in another attempt (dont know what it does, didnt look it up, so call me an idiot. Go ahead lol) but still same issue, yellow 53

Hello my friend bought CS:GO as gift from G2A and now he cant add me neither i can. Its 13Euro on steam and 7.90 on G2A. I dont have enought money on paypal to buy it from Steam directly and if i buy it as a gift like him we dont know how to invite eatch other in the game to lobby so we can actaully play. Hey all, for some reason SpeedFan doesn't monitor "CPU Package" temperature. I got custom CPU fan curve linking with a temperature all working. But I can only do it against individual core temperature. Is there any way to add a custom temperature or do something for SpeedFan to recognize it? Both MSI Afterburner and HWinfo sees the CPU package temperature. Thank you!

Hi, Currently I have 16GB (2x 8GB) installed in my motherboard, which is a Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3. I just found the same kit on Amazon, another 16GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz for about £65 - the lowest I've ever seen it. I've seen contradicting posts online as to whether you can add RAM or not... As I'm running in dual channel on this motherboard, would it be ok? The TechQuickie episode seemed to suggest that it wouldn't be much of a problem... Thoughts please, Thanks!

Hi all, how are you going? I'm just wondering if you could help me out with something. In the past I had a HDD full of music and it died :'( So I had to redo my entire music library and I cbf doing it again. This is where I need help, I don't know if this is a thing but is there a backup program (preferably free) that can do the following: Specify a folder I wanted backed up on the device. (In my case the iTunes Music Folder and a folder on my desktop called Mpvies) Copies all of the files from said folders to the external HDD. Everytime I reconnect the external HDD it automatically looks for any changes in the specified folders and changes accordingly ( For example if I delete a file and add a file to the folders, then the software automatically deletes and adds the files onto the external HDD. If there is whats the name of it and what software would you suggest for it. Thanks for your help

Hey! So first off, just wanted to say that my knowledge of website building is still very basic, so go easy on me. Also I assume this is important, I'm building the site using SquareSpace (Thanks Linus) Everything has been going great, and it's pretty much finished, but there is just one issue, I'm using the 'AddThis' Sharing Sidebar on it, and it works great, but I want to change the text that is tweeted out when you click the twitter icon. I have tried looking around and finding a solution, but nothing I tried has worked (Including the official solution they provide on their site) This may be because my knowledge is really bad so I did something wrong (probably), or just because it doesn't work on SquareSpace, I really don't know. If anyone knows how to get it working so that I can pick the text which will be used I would love for your help/input. Thanks!

Hey all, Just wondering how easy is it to replace RAM in my PC, i built my pc so I know my way around the system etc. My question is how difficult is it for the motherboard to detect and utilize it. Do i need to change anything in the bios, download any software?? Will it balls up any of my stuff? Is it easy?

So I just recently started gaming on PC and I only have 1 game in my Steam library (Civ: Beyond Earth). Now, I want to add a friend of mine on steam, but it says that I can't untill I have a game in my library. Apparently I have a limited user account. The problem is just that I DO have a game in my library, so why is it still giving me this message? On the support page it states that you can get full access to steam by either buying a game from the steam store, if you enter a gift code for a game, or if you purchase a physical game and activate it through steam. I did the latter with Civ: Beyond Earth, but I still can't add any friends. Somebody please help as this is very frustrating! Thank you! -

Hey guys, I got a new SSD 6 weeks ago and finally came around to deleting my old windows install and I would like to add 1TB of unnalocated space on the HDD and add a part of it to my OEM partition(it actually isn't, it's been there since I recovered my PC in July). But I can't see any options for the OEM partition. How can I remove the OEM formatting and add more space without formatting my drive? Cheers, Chicksoup
