Below is the letter I wrote to Arctic about the Product Accelero Twin Turbo III if you have one of these a strongly suggest you check your Blue Thermal Pads to be sure your card is not killed the same way mine was. If you did not install the back heat sink this will not apply to you and the product seems to work perfectly until the following happened. They have yet to follow up with me and I will keep you posted. TL;DR the thick thermal pads leaked a sort of fluid on to my card wetting it and causing it to short out. I hope they handle this. I am very upset and my Gaming PC is down until I buy a new GPU. Their cheaper fans seem to preform pretty close to the level of equivalent be quiet! and Noctua at a much lower cost and their higher end fans are pretty (IMO) so im not hating on them but this product cost me my videocard which is bad. I bought this card in 2016 at the height of Crypto mining and it cost almost $400. The MSI Armor fans sounded like a jet taking off which is why i chose this product. It was installed and worked for 90ish days. The letter is as follows: "On Jan 6th (2020) I purchased a Accelero Twin Turbo III And received it about a week later and installed it as per directions onto my MSI Armor RX580 8GB Everything was quiet and running smoother than ever. I purchased a 5 pack of Arctic p120 PWM fans and 2 more Arctic BioniX P120 for other computers I was building because I liked your products so much, I was impressed. I build many systems a year for others. On May 8th my MSI RX580 failed while running Chitubox 3d printing slicing software, which is a very light 3D application. After many tries to restart I put a different Gigabyte RX580 in its place and it booted right up and ran the same Chitubox software with ease. This brings me to today and why I'm writing. I decided it was time to take the Artic Accelero Twin Turbo III (we will call it ATT3 from here) cooler off. I found something rather odd and unexpected. The thermal pads that interface the rear side of the VRM's has leaked a sort of greasy wet onto the RX580 and and heat spreader, each of them bleed this fluid onto the board so badly it caused the board to short out, causing the few hundred dollar issue. My video card sits vertically in my Deepcool Tristellar case and this fluid was also found dripping down the PCB board and pooling toward the bottom where the main VRM row sits. This liquid was also found between the plastic shield and the VRMs heat spreader. I feel very ill about this happening. I paid US $48.93 for the ATT3 the MSI RX580 that sells for 189.99 today I paid more for it when purchased because of the Crypto mining craze. and had to buy another video card as a replacement to the Rx580 since the Gigabyte is for another persons system that is waiting on parts. For the understanding, Im a bit beyond hobby building PC's and avid gaming ,I'm 47 and have been system building since I was 23 in the days of Cyrix 686's and Voodoo video cards alot has changed since then but one thing i think we can all agree on is you don't want any part of your system Wet except the inside of a watercooler which i dont use for the very implications that they can leak. I have pictures of all of this. Please let me know something on this." As you can see from the included pictures its very wet and this is after its been sitting off for a few days while waiting for another videocard. Anyone else experience anything like this? BTW i live in Florida and my PC sits atop a pedestal behind my large monitor in a corner where it would be impossible to get wet. my Tristellar is run without the shell over the videocard and the right shell has large opening cut to allow tons of air to pass my mainboard. While the power supply and HD dock side is left stock. System make up: Ryzen 5 2600, WD M.2 Black 1TB w/o cooler (the board has a cooler fin for it) 3 different WD HHD's equaling 12 TB of additional storage and back ups Noctua low profile CPU cooler be quiet 120mm system fan Gigabyte B450 Arorus I WIFI Micro ITX G.skill ram 3000mhz speed, no RGB, dont remember exact modules Phanteks Neon RGB 400mmX4 lighting the front of the case. Seasonic gold+ 700 semi modular Gamestorm/Deepcool Tristeller case which has been modded to be mostly open air especially the GPU and sits high up on over my monitor. Yes I post this here which is a more detailed account of how I figured out it was the video card. Sorry this post is so long!

So i have found that my GTX 970 craps out when overclocking after it hits 60C, so i need something other the whats on my 970 G1. so whats a good GPU cooler that isnt super expensive, iv looked at the Acelero coolers but they are almost as much as getting a new GTX 970 off the used market im also open to getting a better GPU but what i feel i need right now is a better CPU and not GPU. anyway what are my options in getting custom coolers for my 970? what thermalpaste should i get? i dont really want to spend more then $50 but max budget would be $70 if i can get something that will keep it under 60C at all times. thanks for any help and any replies Im in the EU btw

https://youtu.be/oMYG_eDfmjo I decided to share my experience with you as i didn't found any other how to's related to these two products combined... I bought the Zotac GTX 1080Ti mini cause it was cheaper at the time, but i was not so happy with the temps in overclock. After I accidentally broke 1 fan i decided to upgrade to Arctic ACCELERO XTREME III in hope to finally release all the "mini" potential... The installation wasn't easy as you will see in the video(the first part is an edited and clean step by step "how to"for educational purpose, the "gone wrong section" at the end of the video is the reality i've experienced: thermal paste cleaning issues , spacers issues, sinks placement issues...Instructions papers are too generic IMO, but with a lot of patience you'll get to it...i made it in 3-4hours cause I felt alone in the process so do not fear if you get stuck somewhere it's normal just be patient, gentle and think carefully on what you are doing to your card... Anyway in the end Arctic EXCEEDED my expectation as you will see in 3dmark and Unigine benchmarks...the overclock is calibrated for a 24/7 use, I could go past 2000MHz but not every game can handle it or is that optimized for Overclocked systems.... It was an hard trip but the struggle is really worth. Good job Arctic ! Here's The Video :https://youtu.be/oMYG_eDfmjo My set-up: Processor Name: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU HFM (Base: 4100.0 MHz = 41.00 x 100.0 MHz) CPU Current: 4098.9 MHz = 41.00 x 100.0 MHz @ 1.3750 V Motherboard Model: ASRock AB350M Pro4 Module Manufacturer: Kingston 16Gb DDR4 Module Part Number: 9905625-152.A00G Video Card: Zotac GTX 1080 Ti Mini Monitor Name: Asus VG248 144Hz

Hello everyone ! So I have issues with my current GTX 970 from Zotac. The fans are superloud, one of them even fell, they are not cooling anything anymore the GPU is going extreme temperatures. Inshort , I need either a New GPU or a New cooler ! But let's forget about a New GPU since i'm waiting for the 3000 séries ! After searching a bit the Arctic accelero twin turbo III .! Do you guys have any other cooler that I could take for "cheap" Or any feedback on this one ? Not easy to mount as I read but it will be ok I Guess Thanks for Reading and for all the help !

Hello everyone, i have a gtx 970, a zotac dual fan model. I recently chnaged the stock cooler for an arctic accelero twin turbo II, i saw a 20c degree drop on full load temps. One thing that worries me, is that te cooler fans don't blow aire over the VRMs, because of their placement on the board. This GPU doesn't have a sensor on the VRMs, but i touched the heatsinks that you glue onto them, and they were hot, not to the point that i had to remove the finger instinctively, but hot. I can't measure the exact temperature, but my main concern is, should i worry? We are in summer here, so ambient temps are like 30 to 42 degrees celsius.

I have a gtx 1070 mini I acquired today (for 50 american dollars) which did not come with fans or the fan housing/shroud. Is there an aftermarket solution I am missing? Or do I need to full jank and zip tie some fans to it?

I recently found out about the Accelero S3 Passive Cooler. On the website GTX 1060 is listed as one of the compatible cards, even in a case with no fans at all. Does anyone know how it performs? What kind of temps could I expect?

Hey there fellow Tech-Tippers! I recently bought a used GTX 780 with an Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo cooler on it. When I unmounted the cooler and the plate that is mounted on the PCB, which obviously cools the VRAM and voltage regulators and stuff, I discovered that some of the paint on the PCB-Plate appears to be a bit burned, it has a brownish hue. However, when the 780 is under full load it barely reaches temperatures of over 53 degrees Celsius (20 deg C ambient). Since there are no fins on the plate that cools the PCB, I wonder whether or not the VRAM and voltage regulators get enough cooling. Obviously 53 degrees Celsius on the GPU would leave me hella space for overclocking, but this would also mean extra heat that has to be taken from the rest of the PCB, wouldn't it? My question now is, since there are no fins on the PCB heatsink, is it safe to overclock the GPU (and/ or the VRAM), or may it damage the PCB components?

Hey guys, I have a small problem here... I recently bought the Accelero Xtreme IV cooler from Arctic, for my new GTX1070, because I wasn't satisfied with the reference cooler that it came with. The cooler fits perfectly on the card and it cools the card (e)xtremely good Problem now is, that due to the backplate cooler that comes with the Accelero Xtreme, I can't get the JUSB3 connector to fit into the motherboard, which means that the front USB connectors of my Case do not work. Is there any way I could fix that? Maybe with an adapter or some re-wireing technique? I happy to hear your suggestions!

I currently have an ASUS reference R9 290 which I am happy with, except it's too damn noisy and my girlfriend is always complaining about it, since I love performance and I keep a custom loud fan profile so the card doesn't thermal throttle. To fix this I think I have three options: 1) get an R9 290X or a 390 (used) for about the same price I could sell my card. Price: around 200€ 2) get one of those two cards, buy a 1000W PSU and Crossfire them. Probably too pricey though. Price: around 350€ 3) get an Accelero Hybrid III 120 (or whatever aftermarket cooler you think works best. Has to be 120mm exhaust) to apply to my current card. Price:108€ I don't wanna spend too much money, so probably option #2 is gonna be too much for me. Gosh if I had the money I'd get that 1070 AMP! Extreme... BONUS QUESTION: I currently have a Corsair CX750: think it can handle the Crossfire when paired with a 6600K, Arctic Freezer Xtreme rev.2, AsRock Z170 Pro4, 5 case fans (1x Noctua NF-A14 PWM, 2x Corsair AP12, 2x Aerocool fans that came with the Aero-800), 1x 1TB Caviar Black, 16GB of Corsair LPX @3000MHz, 1 DVD drive (that I very rarely use)? I don't think it can...

Hey all, I have an EVGA 980 Ti FTW ACX 2.0. I got an Artic Accelero Xtreme III. I was hoping to install it without having to remove the front plate and dealing with all the little heatsink and epoxy. Unfortunately, I failed, the front plate had 4 points toward the GPU die so the aluminum block of the Xtreme III couldn't make full contact with it. BTW, to those that want to make this work, remove the front plate, stick all necessary heatsink, use 2.5mm spacer for the front and 3.5mm spacer at the back. Ignore the foam block on the back, the smaller connector for the LED has a clip in plastic which will be a pain in the ass to remove. Anyways, so, I'm too much of a pussy to permanently have epoxy on my card and deal with all those heatsink stuff. Should I just return it? Or keep it in case I'm brave enough to perform the full surgery on my 980 Ti? Or get a sander or metal cutter and shape the Xtreme III bracket to make it fit?

to start off, these are my specs: - i7 3770 - intel dp67de mobo - 8gb kingston 1333mhz - 500 gb WD - Msi gtx 670 w/ accelero - cooler master extreme 500w psu - stock cooler on cpu Idle: It idles between 25-27c Load: On the Furmark burn in test, (1680x1050,4xmsaa) for about 30 mins on stock clocks I am getting about 50-55c In conclusion, I am just wondering if these are good temps for this cooler, and I am wondering if the 1137mhz clock that it boots to with no overclocks is decent. thanks guys.

Hi, So my friend had a GTX 570 with an accelero hybrid on it. That card came to the end of its days so he upgraded. He assured me that the temps were fine on the old 570 and that the Accelero hybrid still worked fine. He didn't need it anymore as he upgraded to an MSI card with a Twin Frozr cooler on it. I have an R9 290 and the sound and the temps on it are just a joke.. So he gave the hybrid to me. Ive installed it on my card now with no problems. However, its almost as if the pump doesn't speed up when load is put onto the card. I can idle at about 38-40 but not even 5 minutes into running a game or stress testing the temps sky rocket to 90+ then i have to exit the program so it doesn't go above 100 and the temps return to idle in about 3 or 4 minutes. I'm not sure why its doing this. I've spent all day trying to fix it, I've pulled the thing apart about 3 or 4 times and re applied thermal compound each time. Im only putting a mini pea sized dot/line of arctic silver 5 each time and every time ive pulled it off again the coverage and the thickness of the thermal compound on the GPU seem perfect. So im certain this is not a thermal compound issue. Is anyone able to help me out? My GPU is not usable with it like this, i would have been better off keeping the reference cooler on then as it is now... Thanks in advance, Ntave2

Hi guys, today I finished replacing the pathetic reference cooler of my R9 290 with the Accelero Xtreme III. Here's some pictures:

Hi! So basically, right now i'm running a R9 290 with a reference cooler in my PC and i've been looking into getting Arctic coolings Accelero Xtreme IV. However i'm seeing some issues with the design. With the cooler they ship a huge heatsink that sits on the back of the card which is suppost to cool the VRAMs and the VRMs.. But the way i'm seeing it is it's sitting on the wrong side!? The VRAMs and VRMs are on the same side as the gpu.. and thus the cooler/heatsink does not do the job of cooling the memory and VRM. According to this guy his VRM went up to 100celsius after 1 minute of benchmarking.. which is worse than the reference cooler itself.. So what i'm wondering.. in what way did Arctic think the VRM should be cooled? or did the guy in the video i link just install the heatsink wrong somehow? Is anyone running this cooler who can give me some insight? help is very appreciated!

Hej you guys, I own a GTX 1070 FE with the Accelero Extreme IV aftermarket cooler. Just today I bough a used i7-6700k, to replace my i5-6600k. I have a very cheap CPU cooler, and therefore, together with my CPU upgrade, I want to replace it. I've looked at the Noctua NH-D15. The price/performance ratio looks great. But the thing is, I don't think, that an NH-D15 and an accelero extreme IV with the backplate, will fit into my nzxt s340! (If anyone here has this config and got it to work, please let me know). So my question is, can I move my 1070 down to the second PCIe slot to make everything fit? Or will that decrease my performance? I have an Z170A Gaming Pro board from MSI. Thanks
