I planning for a GPU upgrade and a few other things for my PC. I need suggestions for which GPU from 3060 to 3070ti, and if my current psu can handle a 3070ti. Pcparts picker says I'm good but the local retailer's gpu spec says I'll need 750watts Budget (including currency): Strict stop at 20,000,000 VND (875 USD). Current local GPU prices are still 152% - 180% of the MSRP with an exception to Asus Dual fan 3070 which is 710 USD Country: Vietnam Current set up CPU: Intel 9400f with stock cooler GPU: Msi 1060 3Gb Ram: 16gb 2166hz Psu: corsair cx600 Monitor: 1980x1080 24.5in 60hz dell. 2 SATA ssds and 1 hdd upgrading parts and why GPU: main upgrade, considering something between 3060 and 3070ti. I'll go more in the Aim section for why I want a GPU upgrade. CPU cooler: the fan noise is bothering me when I game, do work or render. Don't know which to change to but my preference is some low profile like noctua NH L9i but cheaper brand so I can spend more on other stuff 2nd Monitor: I want to get 2k 27in monitor as next upgrade after GPU and run dual monitors. I might consider 120hz but absolutely fine without it. Power supply: if I end up needing more juice for the system Aim: Gaming: since I transitioned from laptop to desktop, I mostly played eSports multiplayer games. But for past year or 2 I've been moving to more demanding single player titles. Right now I only own dawn zero that barely hit 60fps on lowest settings at 1080p. I've been seeing more and more games that I tempt to buy but I hold back due to the minimum and recommended specs. Beginner 3D artist, moving forward as 3D environment artist for games: I can still make and do things with my current setup, but it does start to show it's limitations when I try to render my projects, which a some take up to 28 minutes to render per frame Other details CPU fan is stuck hard to CPU. And I went a bit ham on trying to get it off to apply new thermal paste (which I couldn't in the end). So that could attribute to the noise, but not sure. Time: - Intending to upgrade my GPU sometime between now and 1st 2 weeks of of May. - no specific time for monitor but definitely after GPU - CPU fan: either after or at the same time as GPU Thanks

I was recently at the battery section of my grocery store and was so confused. There are so many choices. I know the advertisement for one of them was "longer life or more power". But I could get 6 of those for $10 or I could get 20 store branded batteries for $9. I figured for a remote control it truly didn't matter but I was wondering if anyone had an idea if these "better batteries" are really better.

Recently I was playing the Assassin's Creed series, and I came to notice that Unity and Syndicate doesn't run on my Threadripper. After some research, I forced my TR to run at 32 threads instead of 48, which solved the "crash in 2 sec" problem. Then I realized another problem, the game wouldn't run at 60 fps with my 2 2080Tis, at top settings, which GFE recommended. In the game settings, I can see that the game can only use 11 gigs of my vram, which is one card, and top settings uses up more than 10 gigs, and brings the game down to around 40 fps. But wat's funny is that I saw a GPU test from a game media, showing that 2060 can run Odyssey (newest, 2018) at more than 100 fps at 1080p?? After doing some more research, I found that only Black Flag (2013) from the AC franchise supports SLI. However, back in 2014 when Unity was out, people should only have 900 cards, without sli, how can they run them smoothly? And six years later there's still no way to run these games at 4k? Or do I need a TITAN RTX?

Hello, My parents own a small company (family business) so the place of business is also their home. Up until now we had one network for the business pcs, a linux server and private laptops etc. We also have wifi accesspoints that are connected to the network, so employees can access the internet on their private devices.(I attached a basic overview to this post) This system is a total mess and it is incredibly stupid to not separate the business network from the private network. I am a complete noob with networking stuff so I wanted to ask you guys if you could point me into the right direction. The basic idea is to separate the wifi network into two user-groups and two subnets. one that only has access to the internet the other has access to the whole network. As a firewall/router system I am currently running a dedicated pc with ipcop. As far as I know I have to use a radius server for authentication to the wireless network and somehow have to figure out how to configure the dhcp-server on the ipcop-system so it puts all 'guest' users form the radius authentication into a subnet that only has access to the internet. My question now is how can I use the radius authentification-name with a dhcp-server so it puts the user 'guest' into the subnet 10.xxx.xxx.xxx and the user 'admin' into the subnet 192.168.xxx.xxx? I am sorry if the answer is just a quick google search away but I have read a lot about this in the past few days and couldn't find an easy solution. Sorry for being such a noob - thanks

Decided to pull the trigger on LTX19. I'm going to be motorcycling to Vancouver from Sacramento, I'd prefer to make the ride/drive with anyone else headed that way from California. I'd also like to split the cost on a hotel or otherwise find options for a hostel too. I'd like to plan as early as Wednesday, or starting early Friday to drive / meet on the way to up to Vancouver. Splitting my trip to two days up! Will be at a KOA in Albany, OR the night of the 25th and headed out early on the 26th! I don't mind frequent stops (i.e. as frequent as every 30ish minutes,to as long as every 100-140 miles (gas tank restricted), it'll be a long drive and highway wind + summer heat takes a lot outta you when you're riding in the elements. [To explain further anything above 90 American degrees of heat is like riding in a hair dryer and your sweat evaporates very quickly in hot air flowing quickly. Thus, I need to drink lots of fluids on the way there. Plus my bike isn't super big as far as gas range or engine size, I can comfortably make 100 mile fuel stops. 130+ will make me nervous doing high RPM with my bike] I can see phone calls pop up on my phone as a way to communicate and I plan on getting a phone setup so I can take calls while riding if needed. As far as myself. I daily ride a Yamaha V Star 650, I'm 19, collage student, and I moved to Cali last year for school and haven't made a lot of new friends with study and all. I'd like to think I'm a nice guy haha, if it helps, I got AAA Premier and wouldn't mind sharing it for the trip. In One Of the WWDC 2020 Developer Video's It is said that Their Silicon chips have high end Discrete GPUs and Apple Have Developed Metal Developer Tool for Windows to develop AAA games which Are in Windows But Apple Says That We can run IOS & IPadOS Apps and games in Macbook.

I found a few sellers offering "full game accounts" in Battlefield 1 and GTA V for 1-3 usd each. They say they need an email address, and that's all, the full game is yours. You can set your own password. There's gotta be a catch here. Are they email scammers? What do you guys think?

What is the best gpu for maxing any game out at 2560x1080? I don't play 100% AAA games but games like Just cause 3 and star wars battlefront, and a gtx 960 can't max these games out to even high-ultra settings. Don't really have a budget but around $300-$500

Hey guys! So with Battlefield Hardline open beta coming tomorrow I thought I'd make a thread for all of us to share our thought's, expectations and otherwise. EA jokes aside I'm not too sure what to expect. I mean they did delay the game and it's still not released yet. Based of footage I've seen on YouTube from JackFrags I think it looks exciting enough, but I'll have to wait and see for myself. Sadly I don't have a gaming rig yet so I'll be playing on my PS3 and using KB+M via my iogear keymander. At least I'll have Keyboard and Mouse control! Have you guys seen the minimum system requirements for the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's game? Hello! The backstory: Well, I've had my good and old PC for a very loooong time and it had served me well for the past 8 years. I've played all the games I love with it, from the basic Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, to Mass Effect Trology and the Dragon Age games. (yes, I'm a BioWare fan... haha). Anyway, when DA:Inquisition came, along with it came the terror. My old dualcore CPU wasn't going to cut it. Since I'm moving to another country in a couple of months, I'm not planing on spending money on anything right now. But I managed to get a really cheap used CPU which was fantastically well preserved. My old machine: Core 2 Duo E5500 2.80Ghz, 4gb DDR2, Geforce 9800GTX on an Intel board. Right now: Core 2 Quad Q9505 2.83Ghz, 4gb DDR2, Geforce 9800GTX on the same Intel board. What I'm after: For now (around february/2015) and the next +/-18 months, a good machine capable of gaming at 1080p @60fps. I have around €1000,00 now and I'll save around €600 in the meantime. I will never get ASUS boards EVER again no matter what (2 already died bloddy on me). I like Intel so I won't change the CPU. Same with the housing. I really like the Air 540. I don't care for overclocking but I like to have the option to. My goal is in 2 or 3 years have a Crossfire or SLI rig capable of 4k gaming built on a nice looking case. Questions: Could I re-use my "new" old CPU, get a new Motherboard that takes DDR3 and save for now around €500,00 and in a year replace them with the items above or similar? or even go further and re-use my DDR2 which is in top shape (and get a DDR2 board) and save €650,00 total. Is this a good idea? Will my old CPU bottleneck the GPU?

I personally hate both of those platforms (uPlay + Origin). Steam has been here for over a decade now, has an awesome community, platform, and general feeling. From achievements, to trading cards, to knowing most your PC gamer friends have a steam account, and the list can go on. I refuse to buy games like BF4 for the sole purpose of it being on Origin. The only uPlay game I have is FarCry 4; which I got for free with with gtx 970 -- otherwise I would never use it (uPlay). The client is terrible, the website is terrible -- everything just feels half-assed about those platforms. Basic question: Would you guys buy more triple A tittles if they were available on steam, instead of being uPlay or Origin exclusive? I sure would.

So I looked a bit into the world of WATCH_DOGS>>>> thru other people's eyes. What I saw the last day, and this day about the Watch Dog(e)s, you know what I'm doing here right? Was just a diassapointing and unfinished product. What I expected from a company that had a good reputation and still has it, is, a more polished product. As the Ubisoft staff said themselves: "We are postponing this game because whenever we looked we all saw the same thing (unfinished product) so we want to improve the game" And when they said that, I really, really, and once again, REALLY, believed them. It was just a beLIEf. So this is a post that shows everything that is wrong with AAA industry, or so they call it, and the game that i'm mentioning here. Sorry Ubisoft, you dissapointed me. Now what i'm going to say about this game is all TRUTH, and this isn't supposed to be BULL****ing by some 12 year old, many people that read this will either agree or say that this has already been posted (i hate that). Firstly: The Unoptimization of the game The game Isn't optimized, actually, not in any way possible. The thing that they called polishing is probably making Aiden's shoe shinier. NO ONE CARES FOR THAT. WE WANT PERFORMANCE. I wanted to buy an AMD R9 265 OC Edition to play every game, and when the mighty WATCH_DOGS>>>> came out i had to change ALL MY COMPUTER BUILDING PLANS (please note ,that, that will be my first build) So lets first say that Jason Evan Gelho did a benchmark on this game on Forbes.com, and it will blow your Brains and Balls equally strong. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/26/watch-dogs-pc-benchmark-results-multiple-amd-and-nvidia-cards-tested/ So if you go and view that, you'll first see that there isn't barely any difference between R9 280X and R9 290X, and that CROSSFIRE/SLI scaling is none, I kinda expected this with AMD cards, but since they worked with NVIDIA, why? Second: Weird Graphics Options Suprise, huh? No, not in any way, the lowest AO option (MHBAO which is a console half resolution AO) compares and looks better than HBAO+ (imo). HBAO+ High just makes everything a lot more darker, but MHBAO removes that darkness, but still EMBOSSES lots of elements ingame to make it look realistic. So also there is almost no difference between FXAA and 2xMSAA. Yep, And in every option there is no difference between ULTRA and HIGH but it degrades performance alot! Third: Graphics don't look amazing in any way On full ultra you can see things Pop in into the distance? What, we're in 2002 here? Decreasing texture quality actually can remove full polygons and most of the times you can see jaggies everywhere, and i don't need to say that foliage looks like a chewed then puked green sh!T. Fourth: No Multiple GPU's Scaling Fifth: Stuck with NVIDIA! It's really complicated for ME to explain it, but someone already posted it on the forums. AND THE FINAL THING THAT MADE US BELIEVE THAT WATCH DOGS WILL BE ONE OF A KIND TITLE (story wise and component wise it is, this isn't COD ffs) THE TITLE THAT WOULD THROW ALL THESE BAD THINGS OUT OF THE WINDOW, WAS BULLSHIT MARKETING... Compare the 2012 trailer with the 2014 trailer, and you will see a huge degradation in quality over the past years. Isn't the title needing to be IMPROVED by how the time goes forward? FK THAT, UBISOFT MUST DO IT THE OTHER WAY. Top to the Bottom. So if you preordered, you got a half finished product that was even up to this day, even if it was delayed, rushed to market, and even with delaying, it wasn't optimized, and when you preorder, you support the developer for doing the same thing over and over again. So never preorder, and never buy the game as soon as it comes out! You people, just got trolled! Got something that bothered you in the post? You agree with something from here?
