Hi, I recently upgraded from Windows 7 (yes yes, I know..) to Windows 10 Pro version. I selected the 90 day trial version so far and did not get a chance to purchase the activation key, but I am not sure if this is a factor in my issue. Additionally, I purchased a Samsung 860 QVO 1T SSD as an upgrade from my old HDD. I installed Win10 on the SSD, as well as a few programs to test my Graphics Card. I updated all of the drivers I could from Windows Update, and downloaded the specific drivers from the manufacturers' websites of my GPU, CPU, and monitor. Nonetheless, instead of the ~120 or~150 FPS that I get from running programs like CS:GO (on lowest settings), I have been getting anywhere from 30-60 FPS (same settings)... I have looked through all of the extra Windows 10 features and disabled anything that I figured might be using up resources such as Xbox Capture, and things like that. Here are my Specs: CPU: AMD A8-6600K APU GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti Monitor: ASUS VG27WQ (1440p 144Hz) Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A78M-HD2 Rev 3.0 SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1T HDD: Seagate Barracude 1T Ram: 8 GB Kingston (DDR3 I think) PSU: Logisys PS480D with Total Average Output listed as 330 Watts. Bios Version/Date listed as: "American Megatrends Inc. F1, 1/9/2014" Windows 7 version was 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 x64 Bit Windows 10 version is 2004. I booted from the Hard drive containing Windows 7, tested CS:GO, and had the same 120-150 FPS, so the issue seems to be with Windows 10? Please let me know if there is any other information that could be helpful in solving this issue I am having. Thank you!

not sure if I've posted this in the right forum. if not sorry I currently have an a8 6600k cpu and a r7 240 gpu. I'm looking at a full upgrade with maybe a rayzen 5 3600 paired with a rx 5700xt in the future. but I'm currently looking at doing this in stages cause on money income. so my current plan is as follows 1. upgrade gpu to rx580 2. upgrade cpu mobo ram Oct to b450 and ryzen 3600. keeping the rx 580 3. final upgrade of adding rx 5700 xt I'm just after advice is this sounds a decent upgrade path or if I will hit major problems. I am aware that the rx 580 is over powered for my current cpu. ps future upgrades may change as new parts come out.

Hi there, First time posting, and I hope I checked every box of the "Read before you post" sticky Just built my first system in a long while (mostly from used parts, though all coming from running pc's) and after finally installing Windows 10 (from an iso straight from MS) and getting everything up and running, I installed steam and 3DMark demo and basically any bench I run, the error msg "dxgi_error_device_removed" appears, and the run is halted. This happens many times, and updating the graphics driver changes nothing and after all that, more errors start coming. I suddenly got an error message saying that I need to install .Net framework 4.5.2 every time I try to open DAEMON Tools Lite, and trying to open Discord presents me with the error "Update.exe - Application error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000135)." I click yes on the .Net error and it starts the install process, but after a little while it hits me with "HRESULTS 0x80240017" From there I go and check out Windows Update, and sure enough, there is an update available called "2019-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64 based Systems (KB4497935)" I hastily click on update now, the update finishes and it asks me to restart the computer, which I do, but upon entering the OS, it prompts me again to install the same update, which fails every time i try to perform it. After a touch of googling, I found some threads mentioning both an SFC scan and a DISM check, and neither one finds any errors. So to simplify: windows update = broken .Net framework = broken benchmarking = broken OS - Windows 10 2019 - 64 bit MB - Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H (used) Bios - F5 AMD AGESA KaveriPI V0.0.8.1 01/09/2014 CPU - AMD A8-6600K (used) RAM - 2x4GB DDR3 (used) GPU - Sapphire R9 295x2 8GB (used) PSU - Corsair AX860i (new) OS drive - Samsung 830 128GB SSD Steam library drive - Seagate desktop 2TB Nothing in the system is Overclocked I don't know how to describe my problems better, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome! Hi, i have an A8-6600k in my gaming pc, i mostly use it for playing LoL n Rts games in 900p, but i have encountered some games that doesn't run very well, so i decided to buy a Gtx 960, as the title says, will my Apu bottleneck the 960?

So, I have an AMD A8-6600K and HD 7870 in my current PC and recently my CPU has been showing signs of failure, so i decided to finally replace it. Since I've been looking at the AMD FX-8350 for quite some time, I thought that I'd might go with that. Now my question is: Is my GPU going to bottleneck the FX-8350, or should i just stick to my old A8-6600K and upgrade both my CPU and GPU at some later point? Or should I completly forget the FX-8350 and go with a different CPU? Thanks in advance

What the title says. I currently have an A8-6600K CPU. I'm wondering if upgrading to an AD760K (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D7BYMB2/?tag=pcpapi-20) Is currently worth it. Or if the performance gain is negligable. (or any?) If there's a better choice out there let me know. However, I am limited by my current FM2 motherboards lack of upgrade-ability beyond this point. Thanks for your help! This should be a rather simple question. I don't have the budget beyond 120$ ish, so I cant get a new motherboard.

Ok, so I've built several PC's but never really have overclocked. So I was going to try on this pc before i try on more expensive machines: asrock fm2a55m-vg3+ a8-6600k 2x4gb team vulcan 1600mhz 500Gb WD blue 500 Watt raidmax psu So I've tried to just push up the bclk up a few ticks and even +1 makes my display black...but my pc doesn't turn off. I'm very curious if this will happen in the bios...but really want to know some info about this. I've heard that these cpu's are very picky with the bclk... SO, does anyone know anything about this or have some experience with overclocking this processor that can help? UPDATE: Went into bios to oc and can change the multiplier but no the bclk or it will crash.

Hey guys, I recently built the following system: Motherboard: ASUS A88X-PLUS, latest BIOS v1701 CPU: AMD A8-6600k w/ integrated HD 8570D CPU cooler: Stock RAM: 1 x 4GB Kingston HyperX Blu 1600 MHz Storage: WD Green 1TB PSU: Corsair CX430 GPU: NO GPU Case: Bitfenix Comrade OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit I'm getting constant crashes. It doesn't matter if the system is under load or not, it just randomly drops. There's no bluescreen or any error messages, it's just a mix of hanging, sudden reboots and losing image while still maintaining spinning fans and power lights. Things I've tried: Reinstalling graphics drivers (multiple times..) Reinstalling Windows Reinstalling the whole damn system. Took it apart completely, including the CPU heatsink to rule out bad seating even though temps seem fine. Resetting CMOS Banging my head against a wall Temperatures are around 40 C in bios and the one time I ran Prime95 to test it, the test ran fine for a few minutes and the temps settled at around 62 C. After that the system crashed again. I checked for a minidump and didn't find it, atleast under C:/Windows. Please tell me if I can find one somewhere else! Windows event log shows some errors caused by AODDriver4.3 with an event code of 7000. I'ts related to the AMD drivers I have reinstalled multiple times, yeah. I'm out of ideas, guys. The best guess I have now is that the IGP is somehow faulty or I have failed to install the AMD drivers multiple times :wacko: EDIT: It WAS a driver issue! more info in post #10
