Sup folks, I was looking through some AIO liquid coolers and found the CRYORIG A40 Ultimate, and was intruiged by its looks. As you can see on the image, it's a 2×120mm radiator with a-whaaaaa?! A fan on top of the CPU block?! I doubt it'll actually help cooling the CPU, but it looks interesting and I love it. Does anyone have this AIO? Thoughts, opinions? I would also like to know what reliability to expect, I've personally never heard of the brand CRYORIG, what about you? What do you think? Thanks in advance! Regards, TJ

Hello all! I recently purchased a pair of Astro A40's (without the Mixamp). So far the experience has been pretty good however just today, seemingly out of the blue the headsets microphone stopped working properly. The microphone is unable to pick up my voice from more than an inch away and if I speak louder than a whisper it stops registering audio entirely. To date, I have tried the following. Checking for firmware updates The astro website doesn't list any firmware upgrades for the a40 specifically, only listing a50 and mixamp updates Restarting my PC No effect I run windows 8.1 64 bit with an i5 and GTX 760 (Though I don't think these details are entirely relevant) Unplugging and re plugging my microphone No effect Running through the sound sound manager in the control panel Nothing useful that I could find to fix the problem Taking the detachable microphone from the headset and plugging directly into the microphone aux port on my PC It worked! With the microphone sticking off the side of my PC it worked perfectly, although my voice sounds distant for obvious reasons After this development I figured that the problem must be somewhere in the headset or connecting cord but I am unsure of how to proceed both in testing for which one or trying to fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hey guys so my headphones i was using broke so I"m in the market for new ones. I've been researching for the past 2 hours and came up with a few im interested in. first off my price range is around $200 Canadian. with that said the first headset i have been looking at is the Astro A40s, i like these but i was wondering if i need the mix amp? does it require it for better gaming sound? second headset is the Hyper x cloud II, these are nice looking headphones and im reading and seeing good reviews of them. also they are the cheapest of the 3. last headset i have been looking at are the razer kraken 7.1 chroma v2. so far ive seen good reviews and they look cool. i would like to hear your opinions on which i should get or if you know any other headphones that are good let me know.

I was wondering if i'd be able to plug the modmic directly into my Astro A40 Tr's mic input on the earcup itself(where the original mic would be plugged in), to rid myself of yet another lengthy cable. The mic itself only has a single ring on the jack whereas the modmic has 2 rings, i was confused as to whether or not this would be an issue.

Okay, so quick rundown of my situation. Ryzen 1700x Nvidia 1060 16gb 3200 B350 Tomahawk So, I have the Astro A40's without the Mixamp and I've been using them for about a year. It was a vast upgrade from what I had been using. I'm getting ready to upgrade some things to get better quality Audio, specifically for the Mic side of things, but during my research I'm finding that without the MixAmp for the A40's I'm barely getting Stereo Sound and that I need something that will enable Dolby Headphone/Dolby Digital Live. The B350 Tomahawk mobo I'm using doesn't have a S/PDIF option on board so I'm looking at what possible value options I have to provide me access to better quality sound. I've heard/read the debates between DAC/AMP vs Sound Cards and I've waded through the hate towards current Sound Cards due to improvements with On-board Audio. All that being considered, what I'm looking for is help/suggestions towards the most straight forward way of gaining a noticeable improvement on Gaming Audio for the A40's (Yes, I know other headphones out there would be a better choice, but I have a rather large head and the A40's column style construction has proven both comfortable and durable as most headphones don't have the flex on the sides to allow for proper fit on my head). I'm currently looking at the Asus Xonar DGX PCI-E GX2.5 as a Sound Card option to provide me access to Dolby Digital Live/Dolby Headphones which matches what the Astro MixAmp provides at a much more affordable price point. What would be other options or perhaps BETTER options around the same price point, basically looking for a sub $70 option here. Any and all legit help would be greatly appreciated. I will be ordering new Mic equipment with an Audio Mixer for sound input in the next couple of days. Thanks in Advance!!!

Hey, I'm currently using Astro A40 (Gen 2). The headphones are working perfectly, but the volume control is pretty messed up because of time. Volume isn't the same on both ears unless I mess with the volume and set it just right. I want to get a new one, but the price from Astro is just ridiculous (£20). It's this one: I've never seen any other 5 pin jack before, is there any other company making these for a normal price? Doesn't have to have the volume control on it, a straight up cable is fine too.

http://www.mwave.com.au/groupbuy Over here (on MWave) are Astro A40's going for only $85! 43% off! (Original $149) This is an Australian website. Astro A40's are extremely comfortable and sound very nice, especially when gaming. They are semi-open back. The best gaming headphones I've ever used. Although the sound quality is great, the mic quality isn't that amazing. Though I use an external mic, so it hasn't been a factor for me. Both White and Black Astro A40's are on sale (for the same price).

hey guys, One little question. Which one has the best sound? I own bove of them, don't ask me why, but i'm not really an audiophile and i'm curious which one is better. I'm almost sure that the Astro has better soundquality, but I just want some feedback. The astro is from 2011 btw.

hey guys, I need some help with my headset. Im looking for a replacement of my Astro A40 2011 edition. Is it worth it to upgrade my 2011 edition to the Astro A40 TR? I still got my mixamp and im not looking forward to replace that because of the price. Got a good audiocard so yeah. Is this a good option or do you guys recommend something else? I dont want to go over 200 euro's.

I really like the look of the astro A40 neon line but I want to get the red ones as they would match my setup very well but as Astro don't sell the neon line any more and every place I come buy they are out of stock or way over priced. I live in the UK but im not really bothered about paying import tax from America. I there is an Astro headset that is black and red then please link me to it as I havnt found any others and yes of course I want to use them for my PC. Any help appreciated Thanks

So after 4 years of using my PlayStation Stereo Wireless Headset as my daily driver, they finally died. So now its time to buy a new headset, but i'm having some trouble deciding on which one to get. The headset will be used for my PS4 and PC. I have currently been looking at these headsets: - Astro A40 - Steelseries H Wireless - Turtle Beach PX4 Some of the features I need are: - 7.1 Surround compatibility for PS4 and PC - Auxiliary input (for listening to music while playing) - Wired (Preferably) - Durable build quality - A way to switch between using the headset and my desktop speakers on the fly would be nice (ex. an output port on the headset) I'm open to any suggestions and any advice is welcomed.

If I buy the Astro A40 + Mixamp pro seperatly will I have all the cables needed to setup to my PC?
-
I'm trying to setup up my 2013 Astro a40's with my PC via the Mixamp pro. I cannot get the audio to work with the optical out... I can only get it via USB. I believe the problem is a driver issue with the optical out of my MSI Z87 G45/ Realtek HD audio manager. Everything is plugged in correctly, all cables work, the optical cable has the laser, and have successfully used with PS4 and PC recently Ive tried selecting Realtek Digital Output (I think this should be optical out) as my playback device in the control panel but no sound will play. If i select Headset earphone in control panel (I believe is USB) audio works. Im pretty sure this is a Realtek driver issue (I have updated/reinstalled) or a configuration issue. How do I get audio playback to go through my optical cable?

Hey, so my mixamp pro 2013 that I use with my astro a40 keeps playing up, which is extremely annoying. I really do love the functionality of the mixamp (plus I like the design of the a40 mixamp combo) but really don't want to spend too much on audio gear (Astro a40 + mixamp cost about $250 brand new for me, I know that's not much in the world of audiophiles but before that I used a second-hand turtlebeach x12 which was total crud). 1) The least annoying problem is the "hiss" noise it likes to make, really drives me insane. Any solutions to this first problem would be greatly appreciated. 2) The most annoying problem is the weird balance between the left and right knob when changing the volume, when turning the volume knob the volume for each earcup changes independantly of the other earcup and usually I am forced to keep it at around 75%-90%. Any solutions to this would also be greatly appreciated (a way I was thinking of fixing it was to change the volume slider within Windows, but the master slider seems to not have an impact on external DACs such as the astro mixamp so a solution for that would also be nice to know) Sorry that I had to ask you guys but this really has been bugging me, many thanks in advance.

So.. Christmas is around corner and I am looking for a new headset. For 1 year I have this Genius shitty headset which are almost broken (the plastic pieces on the side which hold the cups are broken..only thing that is holding the cup is the cable....I ducktaped it so it holds somehow). I recently built a gaming pc and now I am looking for new headset. For sound card I am using on-board audio from Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5.....The question is: Can this on-board sound card handle Sennheiser Game Zero and "unlock its full potential"? If it can't I am probably going to buy Astro A40's.. I know this post doesn't make much sense, but please, help me choose Tell me your opinions and your experiences with these headsets or with headsets in that rang (price point). Thank you (hope you can understand)

I have astro a 40s for my Xbox one, what soundcard do I need to plug-in the optical cable into my computer?

I've had this Logitech G930 for about 2 years now and it's always had a problem with connecting to the USB, now I know that its a wireless headset and that it's bound to do it from time to time but it's just doing it every 5 minutes, I beleive this has something to do with either the microphone or a constant flow of audio, some people have not such good mic's and with skype they have a constant buzz coming in through the speakers, this wouldn't be a problem if it was not for the fact that it disconnects from the usb when this happens. Whilst watching youtube it seems fine, which is strange because its practically the same thing, a constant flow of audio through media, i'm not sure what I should do. Expensive headset, i've had it for sometime now, I did buy another logitech headset, the mic is dimmed so that the microphone must quite litterally be inside my mouth for people to hear me, I feel like I should go away from logitech... Any recommendations for headsets? I was looking at Astro A40's, their not that expensive and quite good looking at reviews. (Under $200 AUD would be nice) pls and ty.

i've been using astro a40's w/ the mixamp for several years now and they've served me well for playing competitive games and listening to heavy bass music like dnb, house and dubstep/drumstep. i know nothing of HEADPHONES, i want to know if there is a similar pair of HEADPHONES similar to the astro a40's in terms of competitive gaming. in shooting games when i wear the a40's i can tell which level of a building a guy is on and pinpoint his location within the building. i want something that can take wear for 24+ hours at a time as the astro's have broke several times in the last 5 years of owning them. the HEADPHONES have to have a louder (or adjustable) bass than the astro a40 as i enjoy listening to music while i play. OPTIONALLY I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TURN THE MUSIC UP TILL I COULD GO DEAF AND IF THAT REQUIRES BUYING ADDITIONAL HARDWARE COULD YOU GIVE ME SOME EXAMPLES OF WHAT I WOULD NEED. I HAVE AROUND £300 TO SPEND +MORE IF I CAN BE GUARANTEED THAT THE PRODUCT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. IM BUYING A DESKTOP MIC SO PLEASE ONLY RECOMMEND HEADPHONES

So I'm thinking of getting the Astro A40 headset with the mix-amp. Gonna use it for gaming and recording videos. Anyone have one or know if it is worth the money? Thanks

I wanted to get a gaming headset that I could use on my PC, Xbox 1, and phone and I'm stuck between the Astro A40 and the Siberia Elites I just want to know peoples expiriences with these as far as comfort, sound (I'm not an audiophile but I like nice sound), quality and longevity and really just anything notable Thank you!
