Hi everyone, I bought an Intel Core i5 9400F for my Hackintosh, music production and 3D rendering, and some gaming on Windows (I couldn't afford more powerful CPU's) and even if this CPU is not supposed to reach high temps with his stock cooler, it does, 80 degrees celsius under full load and it often goes 90 degrees celsius. I cannot just don't think about it since sometimes renders can take days since graphics engines are freaking heavy. What I'm thinking to do is to install a new cooler for my CPU and I HATE air coolers, so I prefer AIO's. I've seen some 240mm AIO's and even 120mm, what I was wondering is: can I install a 120mm AIO and aspect safe temps? I know it's better to buy a 240mm since radiator is bigger but this CPU is not that hot. Thanks for anyone who will help me <3

Hey Linustechtips community, i have the following problems / issues, i bought an MSI Z370 PC PRO Mainboard from a german outlet store and a i5 9600K but i ive heard that i am forced to update my bios otherwise my computer wont work but how am i supposed to flash my bios without and 8th gen cpu? or does it work with an 9th generation cpu aswell? i am really clueless i really need your suggestions / help PC Specs: I5 9600K MSI Z370 PC PRO 16GB HyperX Predator BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 BeQuiet Powersupply 1x 1TB HDD (Will buy SSD later)

Hi, I am planning on Upgrading my 6700k CPU and my entry level Z170 motherboard for multiple reasons, but mostly because I am starting to bottleneck my 2080 ti. I have a few questions regarding the upgrade: Should I wait for 10th gen Intel CPUs, or pull the trigger now and get 9900k? My second question tied to the first questions...If I were to get the 9th gen now, with a brand new Z390 motherboard, will that motherboard be compatible with 10th, (11th ect) GEN CPU(s) or are they going to use a new socket? I would most likely go for a more expensive MSI MEG board (maybe even Godlike) so I would hate paying 500+ euros on a motherboard that is not able to handle upcoming CPUs and becomes useless for future hardware. I mostly use my PC for gaming, with some productivity work as well as Streaming. Thanks, Beedyboy

So I hope the staff may read this, since you guys have a in with Intel. From what ASUS is telling me and from my own trying to install the Optane memory software. The 9Th Gen ie I5 is not supported at this time. Anybody hear about when this will happen, from what I have been reading, not the only person having a 9th gen issue and Optane

Hi so I have a 6700k and a Z170-A I am not getting the performance that I want so I was wondering if it is worth upgrading to the new z390 chipset or wait for intels 10th gen cpu's. If i do replace the motherboard can someone tell me what steps I should take to make sure my os doesnt go crazy like activation or chipset drivers from z170 conflicting with the z390 chipset drivers things like that thanks!

Hi, I Just sold my i7-8700K to buy the i9 9900K (don't need a lesson in price/performance, i just wanted the best and using the money i sold the i7 for made the i9 not that expensive), and i am wondering whether the same problems* experienced by the 8th gen still exist. *meltdown & spectre etc If i understand it correctly the bugs where an architectural flaw which could only be "fixed" (but more like "botched" leading to marginal performance decrease, especially in storage if i remember correctly) by updating BIOS and windows drivers. Did they mange to fix the flaw before the 9th gen? Surely it makes sense for consumers to think so as a new product shouldnt have a flaw, but at the same time fixing a architectural flaw, implementing it and then get it through new testing phase, then getting it into production must take some time. Do anyone know whether it is fixed, and if so do you have sources? I tried to search google with no luck, probably an answer out there but must be buried in "news and leaks" which mostly came up. And one more thing, I had to update my bios to newest version (i have z370) to support 9th gen, is the bios patch applied regardless what CPU is installed (only relevant if 9th gen is fixed), I know this question is way more techinical and harder to find out, but I would be surprised if they managed to make 2 different versions to operate in the BIOS for different CPU generations, but maybe it's not that difficult, as said IDK. Hi LTT community, I have a job using fusion 360 and Solidworks but also need a computer that can game AAA titles. Could you please help me figure out if I should wait for the 9th Gen Intel CPUs or buy AMDs or Intel's current Gen CPUs. Also what other parts like GPU and RAM would go with them to maximize performance. Thanks!
