Is it normal for a SSD to drop to 98% health after 1yr 6months usage? This is my OS drive so I dont need its backup. Plus I have 10% of the ssd space as over provisioned.

I currently have an i5 760 overclocked to 4.0 Ghz. I want to get a new cpu but I don't want to upgrade my motherboard yet. I'm currently seeing i7 870's going for under $100. Is it worth it for gaming if I can get it also to 4.0 Ghz? With my 760, I only see frame dips in games like GTA V where it is very cpu intensive. Games like doom I can run at pretty much maxed out settings (Using an rx 470 gpu) Is it worth switching?

Hey guys, can you tell me what the difference of those two is? The QVO is way cheaper than the EVO. What is the difference between a TLC and QLC chip? Thanks in advance!

I got a samsung 860 EVO 500gb ssd just a couple of hours before and then I did a couple of userbenchmarks to see how fast it was. But then I noticed on crystaldiskinfo that everytime I did a benchmark, the total host writes increased by about 30GB. My other SSD (Corsair Le200 240GB) also got about 10GB written on it. Is this normal or something wrong with SSDs? Here is a video of it happening: Have had the SSD for 3h and it has already 152GB of data written on it even though I only have 10gb of stuff on it...

Hello all, I am wondering why people are complaining so much about the new 860 QVO yeah it may not be the best but on paper it is really good in terms of performance, just because in some countries the price may be worse to buy the qvo over the evo doesn't mean you can hate on it just for that reason.

I got a samsung 860 evo for christmas and I ran a benchmark on it. It's still fast, but the read/write speeds are slower than I expected. It's a fresh install of windows so it could be driver related. Also maybe it's a bad sata cable? I'm using the one that came with my old hdd as the ssd didn't come with a sata cable.

Bought an 860 EVO few months ago and I have noticed random freezes... I looked it up online and I found out that Samsung drives and old AMD motherboards doesn't go well together (something about AMD SATA controllers not completely compatible or something). I only saw people complaining about this but have not read any solution other than to change the AMD SATA controller to the standard Windows one (it kinda worked... had less freezes). Does anyone here know how to completely fix this? or am I just screwed till I upgrade? Here's the deal, I bought a brand new samsung 860 evo 500gb ssd and installed it into my computer. The computer recognised the hardware in the device manager so i went into the system manager to assign the ssd to a new drive path. All of that was pretty straightforward untill i wanted to migrate my OS (windows 10) onto my new ssd. I used a software called 'Macrium Reflect' to clone my original hdd and move it onto the new ssd because i didn't want to reinstall windows completely, but the software seemed to be stuck whilst it was transferring the files so i decided to hit the 'cancel' button and try again and from there the trouble began! After i cancelled it i went back to the system manager and i saw that the ssd was once again unassigned, so i once again reassigned it and then i got the error message stating 'The volume was made but not formatted. try formatting again through the task 'format''. After i closed that error message i immediately got a follow-up error message saying 'the volume was made but there is no drive path assigned to the volume. Try to assign a drive path through the task 'change drive letter and path'' so i did that and the ssd showed up again but there was no volume attached to it, and when i tried to open it i got the error message saying 'D:/ is not accissible. The device is not ready.' so my initial idea was that the software i used to migrate my files might have corrupted my ssd when i cancelled the migration by leaving small pieces of data onto the ssd that are incomplete, so i tried to format the ssd by right clicking on it and choosing the option 'format' but that gave me another error message saying 'could not complete format'. At this point i am frustrated and out of ideas on how to fix this tedious issue. Currently i payed 112 euros for a paper weight... Here are some pictures of all the error messages i keep on getting (note that they are in dutch but i tried my best to translate them so it shouldn't make much of a problem to understand them) 1) The volume is created but not formatted. Try the formatting again through the task 'Format'. 2) The volume is created but there is no drivepath assigned to the volume. Try to assign the drivepath through the task 'Change stationletter and path'. 3) Unable to complete format. 4) Local drive (D:) has no name or volume assigned to it even tho it does show up after assigning a drivepath to it. 5) Picture of the computer managment screen showing that the ssd is there with an assigned path to it. 6) Picture of the Device manager screen showing that the ssd is being recognised.

Hello I need help deciding between the SATA 860 evo 500gb or the M.2 970 evo 500gb. I just need to know if the extra money is worth it. (I can afford both but it would be nice to save money)

Hey everyone, my first topic but I figured I would get some more input to deciding onmy next upgrade. Currently I have an i7 860 at 4.0Ghz with 16gb of ram and a 1070. gaming performance just isn't where I want it to be and i am looking to do an upgrade. I am torn between a 4770k that is on Craigslist locally for 400 OBO with a bad mobo. Or should I wait and upgrade to a 1600x? With the 4770k I would be able to keep the ram I currently have. Any input is gratly apreciated.

I plan on upgrading my current SSD (had it for a while). I wanted to go with the famous 850 Evo, but I've seen a lot of 860 Evo rumors. If the 860 is gonna be announced in a year, I don't mind waiting for it. Do you guys think it's actually gonna be released? Whats the price going to be? And is the performance going to be a great increase from the 850 Evo? I don't want exact numbers, just estimates.

Which should I purchase? (I'm chucking an r7 360 or 370 in the system so the integrated graphics is redundant) The 860k is around $30 cheaper here in NZ Thanks in advance

Hey forum, Recently my perfectly working Hp Omen laptop has run into a very strange issue. I am not really able to get above 5fps in games I used to be able to play at 60. I believe I have checked all the things that would have caused this, such as making sure the program is using dedicated graphics. Furmark shows 100% gpu usage, but only run at 1fps when it used to run upwards of 20. Has anyone else run into a similar issue, and what can I do to fix this? All help is appreciated, and if you need any more details just ask. HP Omen Laptop: i7 4710hq Geforce Gtx 860m 8gb ram

Hi, My planned specs are in my signature (I already have some of the parts) I have a 4930k (6 core) and I am wanting to overclock it to about 4.4GHz with a Noctua NH-D15 I also have the windforce 780ti and I was wondering if the Corsair AX760 would be enough to power an additional card, both cards would be overclocked to about 1100Mhz I ran this setup through many online PSU calculators and they are saying that I need a PSU that is over 1000w to run 2 GPU's but I was Wondering if the AX760 would do it (or the AX 860) I don't play many demanding games (CS-GO), I am mainly wanting this build for video editing Thanks, Adobez

Hi, I'm a little unhappy with my build at the moment and I'm looking to give it a refresh. I've only had it about 5 months, but I bought it prebuilt and there are bits I'm just not happy with. My current component specs are: i7 4790k Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB XFX R9 270 Coolermaster (I think) 600W PSU SSDs and HDDs... First off, I want a new case. I thought my Carbide Spec-03 was plenty big when it arrived (first desktop), but already it's looking small and tightly packed. I'm looking to upgrade this to a 750D. Along with the new case I want new cooling. I'm going to go closed loop, most likely the new H110i GT from Corsair. I do have a Noctua NH-C14 at the moment, but I can only use 1 fan because of my tall RAM. Finally I want a new PSU, and this is the question I'm asking: Should I go for the 760i or 860i? I want to go with the "i" series because I want full Corsair Link compatibility, plus the platinum power certification is also a big selling point for me. I'm looking to upgrade my graphics, although this would be in the future. The 3 points I've mentioned here would be done at the same time (mainly for ease and time saving). The GPU can just be plugged in at a later date, but I am looking at a single GTX 980. I'm unsure on whether I'll get a current one (probably EVGA) or if I'll wait for an 8GB refresh. Currently my CPU and GPU are at stock clocks, but would a 760 be enough to overclock both the CPU and new GTX 980? Or should I go 860? Thanks

Okey, so I've overclocked my old i7 860 to 3.8Ghz (almost 4.0Ghz with Turbo Boost) and I wonder if the temps are good. I'm using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo cooler. It runs 40-45°C at idle, 50-55°C in WoW, 65-70°C in Battlefield 4 (singleplayer) and the same with BFBC2 (multiplayer). The voltage is at 1.35 (couldn't go any lower because of freezing and bluescreen). Are these temps safe for this processor and is the voltage good, or should I lower the OC? Would like to know, kinda new to overclocking^^

I've got a GTX 680 FTW LE+ (http://bit.ly/1EpMwyS) and under stress it gets to around 93C. Is this dangerous? I assume that I am approaching the thermal limit of the card, or have I passed it already?

Does the 860K use FM2 or FM2+ ? I was asking since I have a FM2 Board and was wondering if I could use it

So, I'm getting a PSU in the 760W-860W range, and have pretty much settled on the Corsair AX Platinum, because they fit in really well with the look and requirements of the build. Now, the main question is what's the differences are between the AX and the AXi series. Obviously there's Corsair link, which I don't really care about as I will probably barely use it, if at all. All I'm worried about is power delivery, reliability, ripple etc. I can currently get the AX860i for about £30 cheaper than the AX860. Or I could get the AX760 for about £10 cheaper again. # So, anyone's views on this would be appreciated! And if anyone can point me to some specific benchmarks and reviews, that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys :D

I'm wondering what PSU is the best choice of these two, and no - no budgeting - no more watts - I know what I need, I just dont know which one to choose. The Corsair AX860 or the Corsair AX860i, I like the self test on the 860i, but is that rly what differs for the price changes, or is there more that makes the 860i worth the money? Tank u verry mush.

So after a couple of days of research i've made up my mind and i was going to buy a corsair RM 750w psu ( that costs around 110€). But now i have a problem... I can get an AX860i for 125€, only 15€ more when they usually cost which is around 210€ or maybe a bit more. Should i go for it? Is it worth the extra 15€? I don't need all that power now but maybe in the future, don't know yet. I was looking for a quiet system, is the AX alot louder than the RM? I know that the RM fan doesnt start until it reaches 40% load. Help me out guys ! Thanks alot!!
