Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm gonna be buying a 165 hz 1080p monitor so i wanna play around 165 fps at 1080p (Don't need high fps for story games)

Budget (including currency): $800 Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, 3D modeling, slight overclocking, and general steam games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): this is my first build and I want a powerful pc that will last me a long time. My budget is 800USD and I want to use and apu until I can get my hands on a dedicated gpu so hopefully around Christmas but it will likely be a 1660S or a 3060. The main 2 processors I have been looking at are the 5700G https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Snowdeer/saved/#view=WtNVWZ and the 11600k https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Snowdeer/saved/#view=WCtYNG. I have a 144 hz monitor at 1080p and all of my peripherals. I currently have an intel MacBook. If there a better option let me know.

I recently got an offer from asus for a pc which costs 800 dollars...they gave me two models... a ryzen 7 2700 with a gtx 1660 ti (6gb) and a ryzen 5 3400G with a gtx 1650 ti (4gb) i am really confused which to buy.....there is not much performance difference between the 2700 and the 3400g...but the 3400g has an integrated graphics card the thing is this is my first time i am buying a PC with dedicated graphics card and i am not sure how long will the GPU last in terms of life....thats why i prefer a pc with an integrated gpu...just to be on the safe side pls help

Budget (including currency): 800€ to maximum 1000€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Simple games like League of Legends and maybe even Elden Ring at +60fps. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I do need a new mouse, but I've got the rest. The new mouse just needs two buttons on the side, a free scroll wheel toggle and a long life expentancy. The monitor I'm using has 144hz so being able to reach framerates in that area would be nice but not neccesary. My main focus is high-end streaming with this PC! I will mostly stream games from my switch and maybe from my Xbox too. So a capture card is needed, I just looked at the Elgato cards but don't really know in what way they differ. (I don't have selected any PC parts yet)

Budget: about 800 CHF (~830 USD) Country: Switzerland Used for: Basic office- and schoolwork, some Minecraft (max. 1080p), lightweight tasks What I have: 4 x 16 GB DDR3 ECC/REG RAM from iRAM, model number: MAR3R186DT16G24X2 Monitors which I use for now (Samsung S22E450BW) Keyboard/Mouse Slow storage (HDD) for large amounts of data What I need for sure: GPU CPU PSU Motherboard Cooler Fast OS-Storage (SSD, not necessarily M.2), at least ~ 250 GB OS, I want to use Windows (10) and Linux using dual boot What I maybe need: Case, but I am thinking about 3D-printing my case, as I have access to a 3D printer with big printing space Instead of CPU and GPU: APU, but I have just heard of them recently and don't know anything about them What I am asking myself: As I've got 64 GB of DDR3 RAM lying around, I would like to know if it is a good idea to use that RAM for a new system. I'd need to buy everything except the RAM. Also I've no idea of how good parts work together, so I also need a recommendation on what other parts are suitable for me. Overclocking is not a complete no-go for me, but I don't have experience in overclocking so I do not see it as a necessity. Thank you in advance for your tips!

I have about an 800$ budget to get pc but Yea i guess i could find parts for myself but i wanted to post this so other people could look and find stuff that maybe i wouldn't. If you could help that would be appreciated. Also the only thing that is already decided is the case = CoolerMaster MasterCase 5. My friend had one for some reason and gave it to me lol.

Recently, two of my friends came up to me and asked me to help them construct 800$ PC That struck balance between looking slick while also preforming admirably. (at 1080p, that is.) I found that doing this proved a tad difficult, unknowing if it had to do with something with my design tastes and so forth. So I decided to swing by here to see if you lovely people could whip up PCPartPicker lists to help me out, it'd really be appreciated! Thanks, Mega

Hello There! I have created a £800 gaming PC build and I am looking to purchase it this summer. This is the link to PC part picker: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/BwCbQV Some quite general parts, and if you have suggestions please change the list or say so in the replies. I am going to be playing games like GTA V at ultra settings, Overwatch at epic settings, Player Unknown Battlegrounds at max settings at 60 fps on a 1080p resolution, hopefully also I will play CS:GO but I know I should be getting 300fps+ in that. I went for a Ryzen 1600 paired with generally fast Corsair Vengeance 2666mHz RAM, as I believe Ryzen 5 processors love fast RAM. Went for a mid-range graphics card (EVGA SC GTX 1060) that should be able to ease through the games. I have not went for an SSD as it only decreases load times and not gaming performance, also I want to save as much money while having a beast of a PC! However, do you recommend that I should go for a Hybrid SSD HDD, which is not too expensive but should still decrease load times significantly? I went for a NZXT S340 case as it apparently easy to work in and looks quite clean and nice, but is there a cheaper but still easy to work in case which has good airflow? Please say so. Also I want to spend around £100 on a monitor which has a fast response time and has a 1920x1080 resolution, I have seen this monitor https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/hqmxFT/aoc-monitor-g2260vwq6 which also has a 75HZ refresh rate which allow games like Counter Strike for me to look cleaner and nicer and also I could overclock the refresh rate to 90 for exceptionally good smoothness in games, but also iof you know of a 1440p monitor for under £100 please say so aswell. If you have any changes or anything please let me know! Merp.

I do have a Hyper Evo 212 cooler but I'm not sure if I should get a new one since the buy needs to only include a motherboard, RAM, CPU, and GPU. Put the best ~$800 can buy . Thanks much! Like many others here, I'm looking for advice for what to look out for in picking a decent laptop. My priorities are non-gaming, as responsive as possible, daily use machine, a bit of multitasking and a small screen with a decent resolution below 800 dollars, pretty much a just nice facebook/netflix/word processing machine. What should I be looking out for, are any companies on good form for build quality at the moment, are there any specifically to avoid? So far all I'm really guiding myself with is 'get an 8th gen i5, make sure it uses an SSD, M.2 if possible at the price point for responsiveness' I'd appreciate any input, thanks.

I'm building my first PC for the summer. I'm only looking to Game on it, not much more. It should kinda serve as a 'starterkit' to Upgrade later down the road. What do you think of these Parts? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/manant02/saved/rd67hM I live in Switzerland so prices are much higher than normal, here you can see what they're like: https://beta.toppreise.ch/wunschliste-pub?w_wlp_lid=36760354 Thanks for any response. Have a nice Day!

Gaming PC with i5 6500/R9 380 or GTX 960 for 800$
nordakse posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hi, I would like to get some advice for my build. I will start from CPU, I have chosen i5 6500 because its cheaper than i5 4590 (I live in Lithuania) and 6th gen, ddr4, etc.. Build with I5 4590 is only 80Eu less, so i think is not worth to trade 6th gen for 4th. Than GPU, watched many reviews and benchmarks still didint decide which one to choose, for me these cards are identical in performance, my only concern is 128bit (GTX 960) vs 256bit (R9 380). I will play in 1080p resolution and I think its wise to pick 4GB version, because new games are demanding more ram and I really want to get stable FPS in Dayz and Arma 3. Maybe you can give some thoughts about this? Or should i wait for r9 380x? Motherboard - I have no idea which one to pick. After reading about chipsets - B150, H170 and Z170, I have chosen H170 chipset bacause I dont need overclocking, SLI or CrossFire features and I wont loose performance. I picked MSI H170 Gaming M3, but I think its overpriced, for same price I can get Z170 chipset. I only want to get full performance from other parts and have 4 ram slots. Maybe you can offer some other cheaper motherboards with H170 chipset and tell what features I loose over MSI H170 Gaming M3? Memory - as far as I know H170 chipset doesnt support higher memory clocks than 2133 or I am wrong? Maybe I can go with cheapest ddr4-2133 memory without radiators? PSU - I dont need fancy ultra quite PSU, I only need to keep my system stable and not very loud. So i have chosen Corsair CX500W. 500W will be enough for my build? Maybe you can offer something better? My build: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($194.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: MSI H170 Gaming M3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($111.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($53.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($66.71 @ Newegg) Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB Video Card ($204.99 @ Newegg) Case: Thermaltake Versa H23 ATX Mid Tower Case ($54.98 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($53.98 @ Newegg) Total: $741.62 Thanks for your help in advance -
Hey guys! So I want to build my first gaming PC (ikr?) for this year's christmas, and I want to get the best possible build I can. Here's the catch: I can't spend much more than 800$, if more at all. Although I'm not a computer noob at all, it's the first time I'm making a gaming PC so I could really use some help. I've been watching some videos and reading through guides, and my overall idea is this: CPU: Intel i5 4460 GPU: MSI GTX 960 4GB RAM: 8GB (2X4GB) Kingston HyperX Fury Motherboard: MSI H97 GAMING 3 Storage: 120GB SSD & 1TB HDD (full build here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6jfkYJ ) I was also pondering a Skylake Intel CPU, like the i5 6400, (with this build) because some people say it's better and it uses DDR4 so that might be useful in the future (or not, I don't really know) I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions and opinions on what you think I should get. Thanks! -Sam

Hello People of the forum!, I am hudge fan of Linus Tech Tips, Youtube channel and I have always since 2007 wanting to make a Pc, thanks to Linus videos I got encourage to try to make my first very own Pc build, but i have still question and i am looking for sugestions, since sadly no one i personally khow have ever build their own Pc. First of all I am from Lima, Perù. Right now I have a Hp pavilion g4 notebook, wich i bought becasue it was on sale and my old 2007 pc started to malfunction (first the power supply and them teh hard drive, them the ram, etc) and i needed a pc right away. this laptop have serve me well his specs are: CPU: AMD A-Series A10-4600M (2300 MHz - 3200 MHz) RAM: 8 GB DDR3 (1333 MHz) Graphic Card: AMD Radeon HD 7660G and AMD Radeon HD 7670M (2 GB) Dual graphics Not really that great but it runs mostly every game in low settings from 30fps to 60fps, sadly most of all the awesome games i love for the pc i had to play them on Low settings, games like fallout new vegas, deus ex human revolution, league of legends, always preffered to play them on low setting to not overheat the poor notebook. but something that is really anoying and i want to try to fix with this new pc build besides my gaming experience, is my video editing, this laptop dsnt let me to use Adobe Premier CS6 at it full potencial, i cant preview my video in full quality because it sudenly loses Fps. and i think this is a Graphic card issue, because in the video card option Adobe premier is lock to power saving mode and i cant do anything about it... So the Aim of this Pc Buil will be Some Gaming and Video Editing  This is The build i came out with i still need your sugesstion on some decitions: Budget: 800 USD CPU: Intel I5 - 4670 3.4 Ghz (6mb of cache) Mother Board: ¿¿?? ( I need help with this one) RAM: 8gb or 16gb (not sure) OS: Windows 10 home CASE: I will decide this by going to a lot of stores (because i am from perù i dont think it would be easy to find particular models), if anyone wants to suggest a model anyway it would be nice. Storage: 120gb SSD (to be upgrade with a 1TB HDD) Graphic Card: Geforce GTX 760 2gb DDR5 Power Supply: ¿¿?? ( I need help with this one) Peripherals: LG WH16NS40 Super Multi Blue Internal SATA 16x Blu-ray Disc Rewriter (can be added later) Reasoning: Both Cpu and Graphics were decided thanks to the system requirements of "Metal gear solid 5: the phantom pain" and some beanchmarks on youtube, i was really impress, (Discalimer: this is coming from a guy that have play in Low to medium settings all his life so be nice if it actully looks awful) i really dont understand the world of graphics card since i hace see GtX950 in all sorts of prices, but the 760 was in the range of 100 to 200 dollars from what i have see. The Ram was decided on System requirements from a lot of games i own and want to buy but since Ram is that expensive i could add to 16gb only if it helped with Video rendering time. Storage because Linus tips convince me. Games i want to play at high/ultra setting 60 fps: Resident evil 4 ultimate HD (would love if i could get the HD texture pack for this one) Resident evil HD Remaster X-com: enemy Unkhow Fallout 3/New vegas Metal gear Rising revengeance Dark souls Doom 3 left 4 dead 2 Metro 2033 Pay Day League Of legends Portal 2 Dead Space Devil may cry 4 Special edition Telltale Games Cities Skylines! Recent/Upcoming Games i want to play at 60fps (No matter the graphics setting): Metal gear Solid 5: the phantom Pain Grand theft auto 5 Fallout 4 Witcher 3 Rocket league Street figther 5 Mad max? (maybe) Star wars: battlefront EA (if is good) Suggestions i need: Decition on RAM Sugestion on motherboard and power supplies recomendarion on graphics card and cpu In case u guys disagree with my choice Some cooling solutions Thanks to anyone that read till the end, i will be happy to read ur sugestions

Hey everyone, I am currently building two pc's for my brother and a friend. My brother has a budget of 800$ and my friend has a budget of 600$ For my brother, I want to know if I should get a FX 8320 with a 212 evo cooler or a i5-4460 with the stock cooler. As for my friend, I was thinking of either getting a fx-6300 or a i3 4160. My thoughts are that I should get the intel processors because they have a great upgrade path, but if I get the 8 core FX for my brother, I wont need to upgrade for quite some time. Plus I can overclock since I have a really good cooler. As for my friend, I could get the i3 since im not planning on overclocking and I can get an i5 later, but with the fx-6300 I could upgrade to the 8 core FX later on too. Please help me with this dilemma! Thanks.

Hey everyone, recently my brother asked me to help him build a 800$ (CAD) gaming PC. After a bit of shopping and asking others for advice I have come up with this: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/LgcG6h I want to know if anybody had any recommendations on what i could change with this build to make it better. Here is a list of everything the PC must do: Be a maximum of 800$ including taxes and shipping Preferably parts fromwell trusted vendors (Newegg, NCIX) Run most games in 1080p at a smooth framerate and at high to ultra settings Include a bluetooth dongle in the build (he has a wireless headset) Have a small form factor (micro atx) Be reliable with well known parts A quad-core+ processor Be upgradeable to 16gb of ram in the future Have a usb 3.0 header on the motherboard and support 1600mhz+ ram Have 1tb of storage 600w psu good for future upgrades Please tell me what you think of the build and if there's anything I could change to get better performance for the price. Thanks!

Hey everyone, after tons of advice from many different forums, including this one, I am finally finished picking the parts for my brothers 800$ (CAD) gaming PC. Before I go ahead and buy the parts, does anyone have any final advice for the build? Thanks! (Please read my explanation for the parts below) The PC: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/6cDmK8 If you are wondering why I chose these parts, Here is a list explaining why: Processor: I chose the intel i5 4460 as my processor because of its great performance and ability to keep up with very high end cards. I also chose it because it is at a great price and actually costs the same as some lower end i5's right now. I took the intel over amd's FX series because of its great upgrade path compared to the dead am3+ socket. Motherboard: I chose the MSI CSM-H87M-G43 motherboard for its 4 ram slots that support 1600mhz+ ram, having a PCI-E 3.0 slot instead of a 2.0 and having a onboard usb 3.0 header. I wanted 4 ram slots so I could upgrade to a higher capacity and the usb 3.0 since my case has one. Ram: I chose the G.Skill Sniper ram because it is the cheapest 8GB 1600mhz set available while still being very reliable and having a awesome and functional heat spreader. Storage: I chose the Seagate Barracuda 1TB because it is the cheapest 1TB available while still coming from a very reliable manufacturer. Graphics: I chose the MSI R9 280 as my gpu for its very efficient cooler, overclockability and awesome looks Case: I chose the Fractal Design Core 1000 as my case because it is considered one of the best budget cases on the market. It also has a understated look, high airflow design and usb 3.0 support. Power supply: I chose the EVGA 600B power supply because it is very reliable, has 80+ bronze certification and all the cables are braided. Bluetooth adapter: I chose a ASUS bluetooth adapter because my brother has a bluetooth headset and needs a cheap adapter with good range.
