Hi guys, this is my first post on the comunity hope you can help me so i have my old pc that already is about 5+ years old, but i really take care of this pc, so the pc works perfectly and this pc use my brother and my friends when they come to my house and you can actually play lots of games in medium details and even high in some cases with good fps So this are the specs of the pc: AMD Phenom x6 1055t 2.8GHz EVGA GTX 560 2gb Corsair Dominator 2x4gb 1600mhz ddr3 2x1tb WD black and 500gb seagate 7200rpm Cooler master V6 Soundblaster recon 3d sound card XFX PRO 650W Power supply So the thing is that one of my friends is going to give me his AND 7990, and i know that this vga is way better than the gtx 560, but the problem is that the 7990 use a lot of power, and I do not know if it will work with my power supply I think i know that you can deactive one gpu so the vga it is going to be like an 7970 that is already better then my gtx 560, but i really want to use the two gpus, I dont know using without any overclock or something like that What do you think guys? it is going to work with the 2 gpus or i should use with only 1 gpu?

Does any one remember if the 7990 was better with the blower or the open air? Want to get myself one of these out of the curiosity of owning one since they're rare and don't see them often anymore.

This has probably been done to death, so it should make it easy to answer :=) 1. I am going to install new drivers on my 280x and was wondering; what is the best way to do it? 2. I've read about a program with the acronym "DD" something (there was 3 letters but I don't remember the third one), what does it do and what do you think about it? Edit: DDU = Display Driver Uninstaller was the name of the program mentioned in the second question.

Hello! This is my first post on the LTT community forums. I noticed that my Radeon HD 7990 has been way worst than when I first got it and is worse on the benchmarks that I have seen for the card. I have Crossfire enabled, MSI Afterburner says that GPU 1 and 2 are both at 1000 Mhz while gaming. The temperature stays around 76 degrees celsius. At 1080P and Ultra graphics setting on the Hitman: Absolution benchmark I get an average of 44 FPS, a minimum of 32, and a maximum of 56 FPS, I ran this benchmark multiple times. Star Wars: Battlefront Beta got around 80 FPS on low without the AMD Catalyst BETA drivers. It would sometimes stutter and go down to 50, but that was rare. My Specs: AMD FX 8320 @4.3 GHZ Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7990 (of course) Motherboard: AsRock 990 FX Extreme 4 12 GB RAM Corsair TX 850 PSU OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit Storage: Sandisk 240GB SSD (OS, GTA V, Dying Light) WD Blue 1TB HDD (Games and files) Random 400GB HD (Videos) I did try dusting my computer and reinstalling the graphics drivers, but that didn't do anything. I don't know my power consumption. Thanks, Ferret

Hello! So, i'm a little suprised i only just noticed this, but i turns out that i am connecting my AMD Radeon 7990 through a PCI-Express 2.0 16X buss, when NewEgg says it's supposed to be connecting through a PCI-E 3.0 16X buss. I know that the speed is much higher on the 3. generation busses, so is it possible that this is bottlenecking my graphics card? The graphics card was upgraded after it was originally purchased, so this is something the previous owner could have missed. Also: is the only way to fix this to upgrade my motherboard? Thanks in advance to any helpful answers

I got myself drunk earlier on tonight and I've just realised I've possibly made a horrible mistake... I paid £217 for a HD 7990 used off ebay. Is this bad? I'm currently running a 270x and it's pretty terrible in all honesty so I've been looking for a new card for a while. Just not sure this is the one. Oh well, let me know whether I'm a complete idiot or not. Thanks

Hi guys. I have a GTX 780 SLI in my system, and I would like to fill up the two remaining PCI slots with graphics cards. I have U$400, and I would like to: Have 2 AMD cards to use in AMD optimized games (or a dual GPU card) OR Have a dual GPU Nvidia card to use as a PhysX card for a while until I build my portable gaming PC (and use this GPU on it) OR Get my 3rd GTX 780 and have a 3-WAY SLI (but I know it will not give me a lot of performance over my current setup) I will buy the cards on Ebay, because I don't mind buying used hardware. What do you guys suggest? What cards do you recommend? I know that it is unnecessary, I know! Please, don't tell me it again! Title says it all. I can get my hands on one for a pretty decent price but my main concern is how is the 7990 compared to the R9 290/X & GTX 970/980? --------------------------------- For the GTX 970 Recommendations I might get : The only local store that has a GTX 970 is Best Buy and its the reference model going for $379.99. Overpriced in my opinion.. --------------------------------- As I stated in my other posts.. Demands for gaming : 1 : 1080p ( I game on my plasma ) 2 : 60 FPS smooth 3 : Ultra/High Settings 4 : Last 2-3 Years before having to upgrade again So lets hear it!! Worth getting or not? Thanks!

Sapphire is launching a new graphics card, one based off the dual Tahiti 7990 design, they've named it HD 7990 Atomic & it's water-cooled ! The cooler is based on a thick 240mm radiator & two 120mm fans running at a quiet 1200 RPM This might very well take the fastest graphics card crown from the Asus ARES II . Hey guys as I am sure you are aware, the new AMD Radeon 7990 just dropped today. To make this short, I am going to have about $1050 saved up at the end of the semester specifically for a new GPU to fit the rest of my build, and an upgrade from my current 7870. I can not seem to decide between; 1) the new 7990, 2) GTX Titan, 3)2x 680/7970, 4)780. I will be running 3x1080p (http://www.amazon.com/Acer-H236HL-bid-23-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00AZMLIDQ) monitors for a grand total of 5760x1080 so thats why I "need" all this horsepower. Please post your suggestion and reasoning below, and thanks for the help. :) Rig spec(as of now): Intel i7 3930k@4.6gh Gigabyte Windforce 7870 ASRock x79 Extreme 11 16GB G.Skill Ripjaw 2133mhz Silencer MKII 950w H100i(4x Noctua NF-F12 PWM) Caselabs Magnum TH10(will be loop later)

Buildlog: Thunder – Colour-scheme black and copper/red with 7990. Background and who I am: Hi all, it’s time for me to make my annual upgrade to my computer, but first I just wanted you to know who I am and why I am doing this. I have always as far back as I can remember had a keen interest in computer hardware and network components. This has driven me to always buy or upgrade my computer in some way. It’s been my annual spending point and I always look forward to tinker with my precious. Last year was the first year I water-cooled my computer and let’s say I was not very good at it at first, hehe my first build looked like shite! But after more planning and research it turned out quite all right (see the first picture below). Well this year it’s time to take my gaming into the next step with a resolution of 5720x1080, 3 monitors, and some form of SLI/CF setup so I decided I wanted some new cool gear to put into my computer. Well enough of my rant, hope you enjoy reading this as I have enjoyed building it. And thank you for an awesome community! Hello! I bought a 7990 some months back now, and i never relised it didnt run as supposed before i checked the interwebs. Im running the 7990 with a 8350 (no OC), HyperX Predator 2400Mhz (running 1866mhz), asus m5a99fx pro r2 0, 750w PSU, normal HDD and a SSD. The tempratures is ok at everything (i think) and this shouldent be a bottleneck, or what? For example: Running Heaven 4.0 and gets a score about 1600, isnt that kinda low? And i need to play BF4 on low to get 60FPS, when i see at youtube people are running ultra smooth... Any ideas? (sorry for bad english, im from Norway )

I have an Asus DCUII OC GTX680 at the moment and i want to upgrade for BF4 and other future "next-gen" games, i run an ASUS VG248QE monitor in 120Hz with 2D Lighboost enabled. First i was thinking about getting a second 680, that would be the cheapest solution for me because i wouldn't have to sell my current card and still have like 300€ (I live in Europe) to spend on other stuff...but the problem with that is that i don't have a large enough motherboard and case for that, if i added a 2nd one of these there would be about 2mm of space between the cards or something like that which scares me... I've been looking at the HD7990 because it's dropped price and it's like only 100$ more expensive than a single GTX780. Then i've been looking at 780s in SLI, now it's a bit more on the expensive side and i'd have to sell my current 680 and probably wouldn't make that much money from it because the used market here is nowhere near close to the American one...so there aren't that many people selling used hardware neither looking for it. I plan on playing a LOT of Battlefield 4, and i want to be able to max out the game and mantain a smooth, constant 120fps, since i'm using a 120Hz monitor and 2D Lighboost on top of that whichmakes FPS stutter even more apparent. Now i've been looking at some Guru3D benchmarks, usually my preferred site because they always specify what level they test in game and they always use the same one. This is their HD7990 and 780/TITAN benchmarks, i'm using BF3 as a reference although you can also see it in other games. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/radeon_hd_7990_review,20.html http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_780_sli_review,19.html According to their tests, the 7990 is getting equal and even faster performance in some cases than 2 TITANS/780s in SLI. Now i don't know if this is some kind of mistake... I know AMD is supposed to unveil the 9000 series at the end of the month but i'm scared that the longer i wait the lower value my 680 will have. Will the high end cards like the 780 drop in price when AMD shows their new GPUs? Will even the 7990 drop down further? I don't know if i should wait or if it's even worth waiting, the BF4 Beta starts at the end of the month and i'd love to be able to max out the game by then with 120 fps. Thank you if you read this all the way though...i'm just really confused by this.

So I was wondering, with the possibility of the GTX 790 on the horizon, could you use it (and function just fine as if it was on an SLI-supported ATX mobo) on a mini-ITX mobo (e.g. Asus Impact)? Since the boards only come with one PCI-e slot, it does make sense if it doesn't support Crossfire/SLI, but, as far as I understand it, the dual-GPU cards, while being only one card, are recognized as two discrete cards in the system. Of course, fitting into an m-ITX case is another matter all together, but I'll worry about that later.

So this popped up on my twitter feed and was intrigued. It claims that there new systems are going to be using the new 8990 gpu! are there any rumors for release dates etc because i didn't even know about this!

I own a 680, and if i were to get a second 680 then the combined price of those two would be the same as one 7990. They cost the same so which is best? 7990 or 680 sli cheers,

Hey guys, I was looking to work for some money and then buy the 7990 because the ones I'm looking at are around $620 which is an insanely good price for one of the best cards in the world. This is the one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125458 And atm my build plan is an i7 4770k @ 4.2ghz, 16gb corsair vengeance ram @ 2400mhz, a msi z87-g45, and some other components, and btw I know I'm getting these for sure. The only problem is I was planning on getting a cx600w power supply, but will that be enough? It's the 80plus version btw. Thanks guys!
