I have a 780 strix that doesn't work. With everything plugged in the card's fans spin up to 100% and there's no output. Using the igpu of an i7 6700 I see that the pc works although with the gpu installed the pc experiences weird behavior such as but not limited to windows crashing. When windows did manage to boot for once the gpu wasn't properly detected by windows but it knew that a device was present. Swapping the gpu for a 1060 6gb or omitting the dgpu entirely the pc works fine. I also noticed a dent in the gpu shield near the pcie connector and a small scratch on the pcie lanes themselves. I opened the gpu to look for anything obvious but didn't find anything. any help is appreciated

Is it so much of a problem for people when trying to buy computer parts? My last purchase for a part was approximately a year ago and it's already been good. However, now that I'm nearly complete with my build, only one parts remains: THE GPU This thing that I have (GT 610) has been the worst thing I ever thought was a good idea. Now here's when the real problem sets in... Windforce R9 290 for approximately $417 or EVGA 780 Classified for around $550 or $570 Now looking at both cards, My mind is set on the 780 since EVGA and that build quality on the premium cards. I can't just let it go! Then we have the 290 with the lower price and Higher Memory/Bus. It really I a trade off. The 4GB won't entirely come in handy but I have a 1080p and a 900p which is fine for a 3GB. The classified's OC power, potential, and stability really is a great thing. I do love it and the design truly complements my build entirely. Now put in my shoes, what would all of you do? Have you had a situation like this? If so, how?

Hey everyone . Today i changed my thermal paste on my 780 from EVGA. And i then noticed this weird discoloration. I tried wiping it off multiple times with alcohol, but it's not coming off, it clearly is a discoloration on the die. The GPU works fine though. Also, the "GK110-300-A1" text is almost gone. Any ideas ? Is it normal or will my GPU fail soon ? Have a nice day, thanks.

Hi I have a NVIDIA GTX 780 founders, when I connect it up to my system, the fans spin up and it starts to get very loud and there is no sign of booting on the screen. I tried the Displayport, HDMI, and the DVI and nothing shows up on the monitor. Is it a bois problem or the hardware? CPU:i7-4790 MOBO: ASUS H87M-E PSU: Thermaltake 700W

I have two 1080s in SLI, but Nvidia SLI only lets you use 2 monitors and I need (want) 3. Can I run my 1st and 2nd monitor off the 1080, and then install and older GPU just to run the 3rd monitor which is just for documents and spotify. Thanks in advance

Do you guys think there will be a GTX 1180 this year? I'm a proud owner of a 780 and a 1080. I would have owned a 980 also, but I wasn't able to make the money for it that year. If there is, do you think it will be a marginal performance improvement? I'm saving up money for it now. If I think the performance boost and features are worth it, it's a definite purchase from me. Thoughts?

Since my main rig is too heavy to lug around at LAN parties, I wanted to build a "tiny" PC that could use some used parts I had lying around. Full configuration: - Intel i7-4790; - DeepCool Gabriel with Silverstone FW121; - Gigabyte Z97N-WIFI; - Corsair Dominator 2x8GB 1866MHz; - Palit Geforce GTX 780 with Arctic Accelero Xtreme III; - SSD Qumox 128GB; - SSHD Seagate 1TB; - Fractal Design Node 202 bundled with Integra SFX 450W; - Noctua Industrial 2000rpm PWM. I already had the CPU and the GPU laying unused in my room, so I bought a 30€ MB with a damaged socket and the rest of the parts were bought used except for the case. Here's the final product: Success! It fits in a bag. The full build gallery can be seen here Maybe tomorrow if I have time I'll copy the full 36 image build gallery here since it takes ages hahah.

I currently have a GTX 780 in my gaming PC and i'm thinking of upgrading my hardware! Is the RX 480 is a good upgrade? I currently have 3 monitors will it support it? My last AMD card (r9 280) couldn't support it so I got my 780!

hello just a quick question. recently my gpu died (a gtx 780) so running on integrated for now. i can get a 460 in about a week or so. should i get that or wait a bit and get something like a 1070

Hello, So I installed a new mobo, cpu and ram. Also did a fresh win10 install. Now my computer runs into issues. Normal surfing it runs fine, but when I start up a game the game frezes and sometimes get a message saying drivers crashed and som kernal crap, but successfully started up again. Usally the game crashes and the computer runs smoothly again. Maxed temp I got was 75 celsius on gpu. What is wired that the fan doesent speed more up than it does... Either way I do not think it is a overheating issue. Tried reinstalling drivers and tried older drivers. It worked no problem before I upgraded it, so the psu shouldent be an issue? Specs: - i5-6600k - gtx 780 - 2*8gb DDR4 - Asus maximus viii hero - 750W bronze psu - intel 120gb Ssd - 3TB hdd - etc... Any idea? This is really driving med NUTS!

My GTX 780 just died about 10 min ago, i need i new graphics card and im wondering what is a good option right now i was thinking about a 1070 or 1080 but... is there any good cards on the AMD side ? Do you guys think a KFA2 GTX 780 HOF is a good value for 110 euros? I could get a gtx 690 for around 140 euros, but i'm concerned about the 2gb vram per gpu which I think is very little for current games.. I also found a gtx 970 for 140 euros, maybe I could convince the seller to sell it to me for 130 but he hasn't responded yet. All above cards are used, the 970 not as much as the other two apparently if the seller tells the truth. I don't want to spend a fortune on a brand new graphics card as of now, but I thought of upgrading a bit on my current r9 270x as maybe I will use it in another computer. As for the prices, I live in Slovakia, parts are pretty expensive here, a new 1050ti costs around 150eu and a 1060 3gb around 210.

Hi LTT Forumers, Since I've bought this GTX 780 ti (used), it has been giving me issues. The original owner had a waterblock on it, therefore some screws are missing from the card when the reference cooler is put on. When I originally bought the card, the card would run really hot, and would constantly require undervolting just to run at under 85 degrees celcius.Today I decided to try and clean the card, including rethermals to the GPU die in order to get better temps and less noise from the card. Unfortunately, when I Was done with the card, I realized that the issue wasn't in the dust inside the card, but instead the issue was that the 4 screws on the backplate were not there, and instead 2 screws were forcefully jammed in the slots to attempt to keep the heatsink tightly pressed against the die.Now, this forcing of the two screws may have done the job keeping the card from crashing at least, but after I redid the thermals on the die, I wasn't able to force the screws back in, and the result is that now my card shuts down from overheating every time I try and open a game.Here's what I've already done to try and solve the issue:-I've contacted zotac, asking them for replacement screws, but since it is a rather old card and zotac is notorious for providing bad support, I doubt they will send me a replacement set of screws.-I've searched online for replacement screws: I couldn't find any replacement screws online for the 780ti. If anyone can send me a link to where I can get replacement screws, it would be greatly appreciated!Either way, at this point, I really don't know what I should do. Should I try to get new screws and attempt to fix the card, or should I just trash to card and get a new one?Either way, any help is appreciated!

Okay so, i know this is a dumb thing to try but i all ready have the parts and most of the blocks, rad and fittings so i want to try. Here is the story about it, I have a PC that i only use for Lan because i can have it and all my cables and stuff in a normal duffle/sports bag, the specs are: CPU: I5 6400 (got it for free for helping a friend upgrade his cpu) GPU: GTX 780 Zotac (referece board but 3x fan cooler) (got it in a trade for my old 780ti (also got an Asus 680 in said trade)) Ram: 12 GB of shitty budget ram 2133MHz 1 Crucial 4gb stick and 1 Kingston 8gb stick (but atleast i modded some HyperX Beast heatsinks on them) MB: MSI H110i Pro, LGA 1151 (bough this one because it was the first on the list when sorting price low to high) PSU: Old Cooler Master Bronze 650 Watt PSU And to put the part into i got the cheapest small case i could find the, Cooler Master Elite 130. Now here is the problem, it get really hot on the case like you could make food on the side of it, because the GPU just reuses the air since the case had no air flow, all it had is a 120mm intake fan in the front and an 80mm outtake in the side, i did use the PSU and an outtake but it got very hot and i didn't like that so i turned it around so it didn't take air from inside the case. So i was going to get an ASUS 1060 Turbo for it but for some reason it disappeared from the only online store in Denmark i could find that had it, and then i decided to get some used gpu and cpu blocks that would fit, now after i got it they got the asus card back on the site, so i got kinda mad, but now i have bought the blocks so I'm going to do the loop. So my question is really just this: "how dumb am i for trying to do an i5 6400 and a GTX 780 with EK copper blocks is one loop in a case with only 1 120mm rad?" "also i dont have the rad yet so what rad should i get" "and how hot will this be?" -

Hey guys, Recently moving over from console to PC, I built my first PC. I have an Intel Core i7 6700k. 2 Nvidia GTX 780's in SLI (given to me to help save money on the build). An Asrock Z710 Fatality K6 motherboard, and a Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I just recently decided to start playing games on my PC, and I decided I wanted to do a play through of the witcher 3 and Skyrim. While trying to do so, my screen does a flicker and a stutter that I haven't seen before. I am gaming on a Samsung 4k monitor, but have the resolution set to 1080p and am getting consistent 60 fps. Hello, i have an EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB and an ASUS GTX 770 2GB. I'm assuming the 960 is better (if not please correct me), and im wondering if it would be a good idea to use the 770 a a PhysX card? I'm also wondering how one would accomplish this. Edit: After some research it seems the 770 performs better (Source: bit.ly/2iVRHqV), would it be a good idea to use the 770 as my main gpu and maybe the 960 as a PhysX card? Best, Ollie

So, got some spare time and desided to do a bit of refresh for new to me GPU, Gigabyte GHZ edition 780 On stock goop from factory (dont know the exact age of this card, many years atleast) the card reached 81c at a static 70% fan speed just for the sake of comparing each other. This is what it looked like after about 10-15mins of Heaven benchmark, the stock tim is pretty melted up there. For both test's the room temp was "around'ish the same temp" a.k.a I myself didnt feel much difference between the test's. Now, I applied some CoolLaboratory Liquid Ultra, bit of scraching/sanding of the copper contact, installation was a breeze. New temps were stabilizing around 73/74c (room started to heat up) with a static 70% fan speed. Afterall, for me it was worth it, this ended up lowering the average temp with "auto" fan on from 80c to 71/77 depending on the game, didn't notice much of a difference in sound/fan speeds, might be worth it to invest some time to find the perfect fan curve for my usage.

Good morning everyone! I am currently running two ASUS 780 Poseidon in SLI and OC, pared with a i7 4770k and 32GB of DDR3 RAM. After the Christmas Season, i am planning to upgrade the two 780s to one 1080. I am wondering if the performance increase is noticeable, because i cant find any helpful comparison from Kepler to Pascal. Maybe i should even wait for the 1080 ti or AMD Vega ? Never the less, even if the performance increase is not that noticeable i really want to get rid of all the SLI-Problems. So i am curious what you guys (unisex) think, of what I should buy and when their could be a sweet spot in price in the early 2017? Thank you in advance for your help and your comments. I have a Gigabyte GTX 780 Windforce GHz Edition and I want to set it so the fans don't turn on until it hit 50C much like the 10 series cards. I downloaded the latest BIOS for it and edited the minimum fan speed from 25% to 0% with Kepler BIOS Tweaker and then flashed it using NVFlash. It took but when I try to set the fan to 0% in MSI Afterburner, NZXT CAM or OC Guru 2 it just stays at 700RPM like it did before. Has anyone had any experience doing this and got it to work?

Hi guys, here is the problem my nvidia gtx 780 is bricked. The bios isnt doing its thing anymore. I m using nvflash to fix it. But, when i try to flash it with nvflash running in freedos is says that the display adapter isnt found. When i boot in with the igpu i cant update the driver for the graphics card because it ist recognized. so that is out of the question. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS. Thank you so much for the "winning" answer!!! I put al lot of money in this card...

Hail and Well Met! I'm seeking help with my ASUS ROG Poseidon GTX 780 card, which around 2 months ago started randomly stopping 1 of its 2 fans and then ca. 3 second later it spins up again as normal. During the standstill of that 1 fan, the other one spins up to compensate i guess, which is annoyingly loud, like an aircraft starting in my room. After it spins normally again, the other fan returns to normal as well and the whole cycle randomly repeats. Funny thing is, it only does this when idling, when put under load, everything is OK. What can I do with it? What might be the cause? I've been googling for the past 2 months with no apparent success whatsoever. I've uploaded a video recording of what's happening, it's not the best angle I know but it's the best I can get with my phone inside the PC :D If it cannot be repaired, do you know anyone who'd be interested in it as a collector's item? I have the box and every paper that came with it, the card itself is from 2017. What replacement card would you suggest if it cannot be repaired or the process is not worth it? My idea was to buy a 1060 6 GB, but honestly I wouldn't wanna get rid of this one if not neccessary. Thanks for your help! video-1552769894.mp4 -
