Will someone enlighten me on what I have I know it's 1 of 12 apparently and and I would rather not beat it and run it into the ground so I'm looking into a replacement or upgrade

Hi Guys, I recently upgraded from a 28" Full HD monitor to a 32" UHD monitor. Reasons for this being that I won't game that much but rather use the PC for things that demand a higher resolution and a bigger screen. The first thing I tested of course was the 4K function and after setting a lot of things it really looked incredible. Now, I noticed that my monitor has HDR function and 4K movies have 10 bit colors. Problem is, aside from the Displayport or HDMI generation, that needs to match the one the monitor uses to get real HDR (which would be possible in my case for DP), that according to what I read, 10 bit colors are not supported for Nvidia GPUs below the 10xx series. Now the same text also claimed that (back then) HDMI would only support 30 Hz freshrates at 4K resolution (which is I think also on the NVidia site) while DP get's you up to 60 Hz. Now I've tested this, the NVidia setup, the Win 10 setup and most games (that can run at 60 FPS in 4K on a 780 Ti, so low settings) all tell me I get 60 Hz over HDMI. Perhaps this was changed by a later driver update, I have no idea. Therefore I was asking myself. Before I start heading out and buying a new GPU (which I will do probably this year anyways), why is having 10 bit colors via HDMI or DP on a 780 Ti not possible? Using NVidia system control I can adjust everything for 4K but it won't allow me to switch to 10 bpc. After that video that Linus once had on gaming on a bitcoin mining card and another text I found somewhere that claimed that NVidia had unlocked that 10 bit feature after an update for some GTX 9xx cards I was wondering if that limitation is just another software based lock or if there is a physical limitation? Because according to what I know, once I play a file that has HDR 10 and is in 10 bit, my let's say VLC media player will convert that back to 8 bit using color tables. I also saw that. I took a screenshot from a movie that had 10 bit color once with VLC media player and as a direct screenshot inside the VLC mediaplayer. Both had different colors. The one with win + print had the correct 8 bit colors and the one that VLC took were completely off. So I was wondering, isn't it the monitor that has to do the work here? It's the monitor that has to display all this information, and I don't see a reason why my PC shouldn't be able to send it. Therefore my question is, is there a physical limit that would keep me from doing so and if that's the case is there any way yet to somehow switch to 10 bit and fool the softlock (if one exists)? Thank you in advance for any suggestions and ideas, Feel free to correct me at any statement here, it's hard to find much information and I was puzzling these things together, Greetings

I was playing Total War: Warhammer at highest settings, and all of a sudden, my screen went black--but the computer stayed on. Naturally, I knew this was a GPU issue. My GPU, an MSI 780 ti gaming, was old and having VRAM fan troubles. Twice over the course of two months, I had to start the fan by spinning it with my finger. I quickly shutdown my computer, hoping it just overheated, but all of the fans had been spinning. When I tried to turn my computer back on, no video signal was outputted, and the GPU fans spun at 100%. I waited twenty minutes to let it cool down with no luck. Ultimately, I took out my 780TI and replaced it with my old Radeon 7700 HD; it seems to be working fine. My question is: Can I fix my 780 TI via "baking" or is that a vain effort? I doubt it overheated because if it had, my computer would have completely crashed. Moreover, all of the fans seemed to be spinning before and after the "black screen" incident. It seems like the stress of Total War just killed it. I am planning on buying a new GPU when the new Vega cards are released, so I just need a temporary fix.

Long story short: upgraded my PC from i5-550 to: - i5-7600K with massive Noctua cooler (NH-D15) - ASUS Prime Z-270A Motherboard - DDR4-3000 Corsair RAM ... but decided to keep my old case and power supply. Old power supply was some 750W model by Delta Electronics, 7-10 years old. Due to my student budget, I decided to upgrade my used GTX770 to a used (MSI) GTX 780Ti. Everything went fine for a few days, lots of gaming with maximum temps always under 80°C - also did some benchmarking and stress tests, no problems. Then I played Doom for ~1h and started Far Cry 3 after that. Right in the game menu the PC suddenly shut off (no bluescreen, sounded like just the PSU switched itself off). I restarted the PC, started UserBenchmark to see what happens. Everything went fine until the last GPU benchmark (glowing particles) - the program rendered ~1 frame and then the PSU went off again. Tried again to make sure it was a permanent error. After a while of googling I decided to get a new PSU - now I have a Corsair RM750X and this error does not occur anymore - so far, so good. Even before getting a new PSU, I noticed a slight performance drop. Had to change settings in Witcher 3 in order to maintain 60fps. Doom didn't seem to be so smooth anymore either. My UserBenchmark GPU score also went down - my 780Ti belongs to the lowest performing 6% out there. Beforehand my GPU was in the 53rd percentile - way better than now. Is it possible that the old PSU damaged the GPU? Or some other components? Tried benchmarking with my GTX770, which seemed just fine (94th percentile at Userbenchmark) Old Benchmark: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/3392439 New Benchmark: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/3458649 I found out: - No way it's thermal throttling - max. temps CPU/GPU 60-65°C - the new PSU has enough power - It doesn't seem to be a driver issue (did clean uninstall and reinstalled several newer/older drivers) - Because I made the Win10 Creators upgrade the same day as my old PSU started acting weird, I reverted to an older Win10 version - no results. - BIOS update didn't change anything At the moment I am running Heaven Benchmark several times while trying to OC slightly with Afterburner. Even with the slightly overclocked card, my Scores go down with every new benchmark. 1345 -> 1328 -> 1137 -> 1106 (Dx11, 1080p 8xAA fullscreen, Q.: Ultra, Tess.: Extreme). GPU temperature still 62°C. Could the card be in some kind of low performance mode? GPU-Z tells me that the GPU Core clock is around 900-950MHz, Memory Clock 1750MHz, 0,987V. Power limit is at 105% and Temp limit at 95°C, so a higher clock wouldn't be a problem. I noticed that when I start a benchmark the clock speed goes to 1100 MHz for a short time, then goes back down to 900-something. Set the benchmark to maximum performance in the nvidia program, windows is also not in some kind of power saving mode. even at 45°C the card clocks down to 900MHz speeds. PerfCap Reason from GPU-Z says Power limit, though Power sensor says ~65% usage. Has anyone faced problems like this before or has an idea what I can try?

Due to the mining bubble, I can sell my 280x and buy a reference 780 Ti or a good AIB 970 at no cost, would it be worth it going through the hassle of selling to do this? Is it that much of an upgrade? Or should I just wait and do something else like get a used 980 Ti early next year for like $275?

Hi I recently bought a ASUS 780 ti and have noticed that when I start a game it's all fine in the home screen and then when I max out my anti-aliasing msaa for example if I have that setting on as soon as the game loads in my screen goes black and the GPU fan goes to 100℅ and restarts

My friend gave me his asus gtx780ti with a nxt cracken on it to replace my gtx 780. It's not a giant upgrade, but it's free. the only problem is that since the original fan shroud melted itself (no joke) the cracken water cooler is all I can use, but I don't have enough fan headers in my external GPU box to drive it (oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm running all of this in my akitio node eGPU box for my spectre x360 laptop). Since the only fan header in the akitio node is a 2 pin header, and I'm now going to be asking it to run the radiator fan, the VRM fan, and the pump, I figured it would be better to figure out the fan pinouts on the motherboard and use those instead, if I can. The original cooler had two fans on it, so asking it to run the radiator and VRM fans shouldn't be too much, and then I can connect the pump to the 2pin gpu box header. So does anyone know the pinouts? I've tried google searching it but all I get is ads and links to places that sell graphics cards. Here's a picture to help

I bought my gaming pc from a guy when I was desperate for a computer but now I realize I should have built my own. Right now I'm running ROG Maximus Hero VII EVGA 780ti I7-4790k So now if I want to upgrade any of those parts I really have to pretty much build/buy a brand new system. Do you guys suggest I wait a bit longer in rebuilding or should I start buying parts with black friday/cyber monday coming up

Does anyone have an old GTX 780 Ti they want to sell for cheap. I'm looking to replace my 8600 GT because that really old and I can only play RTS games like Age of Empires 2 at a stable frame rate. If anyone can help that'd be much appreciated.

Hey all Hope you can somehow help me. I bought a GTX 780 ti 3gb founders edition used, and the guy i bought it from did mention that it turns the monitor black once it get pushed, and he only used a 350watt psu. So i thought it was that. So i bought it and pulled it apart to clean it and repaste it, and put it in my pc to test it. And it still does that. I did do ddu to remove the driver and remove my GTX 1080 ti before installing the 780 ti and the drivers. but once i started up Heaven benchmark it turned my monitor black but the pc stayed on. my system is: 2700x 32gb DDR4 3000mhz. x570 master. 2tb gigabyte ssd m.2 gen4. evga supernova 1000w 80+ gold. 2tb baracuda hdd. GTX 1080 ti evga sc black edition.

Hello, due to some unexpected events i have downgraded from my ryzen 5 1600 build as i have only the funds to fit this build!CPU: Intel Core i3 8100 Lets start off with the cpu! i have read a few reviews about this, and alot of benchmarking videos (though might not be as accurate for my build) i was going for some ryzen builds at first as i might need the extra cores and threads for streaming. from where i come from (Indonesia) the prices are a bit fluctuating above the norm and some do have really weird prices. the i3 8100 is sold at RP 1.600.000 (111.22$ Approx) looking for about a processor on this price range! i rarely play high demanding games. CSGO and PUBG are the main one im looking to get a good FPS on! i disregarded the Ryzen 1300x is because i probably wont be doing overclock at the start. but what im wondering is the upgrade path of ryzen! as it is very enticing. i would probably upgrade to the i5 8400 somewhere in the future (Not looking for immediate upgrades)Motherboard: Asrock B360M Pro 4im going for the B chipsets as i probably wont look for a unlocked intel processor in the future. and i hope this motherboard is of good quality! and that it would suffice for other processors in the future. seen alot of good reviews from it and the b360m pro 4 fits my budget perfectly! hows the future proofing or upgradability of this board?Graphics Card: GTX 780 TI REFERENCEThis graphics card was gifted?(TBD) from my friend. he had the gtx 780 ti reference on a water cooling block but i opted for the base heatsink for now. this was purchased somewhere around the launch of the card. this should suffice for now but in the future i might upgrade to something beefier, but i hope this card lasts for quite some time.RAM: Klevv DDR4 CRAS 2133mhz (2x4GB)This ram was sold to me at a very cheap price! (from a friend) and i will probably look into upgrading to a 3200mhz ram or adding the same 2x4gb bolts to make it 16GB!. unlike the ryzen with their Infinity Fabric should i upgrade rams? (id like to be on a budget) i can probably ditch the 2400mhz ram but i dont see it as money efficient. (ive seen that i can tweak the timing for a higher mhz? i think im still new on ram tweaking)Power Supply: Bequiet! Pure Power 10 500W Silverthis power supply is currently powering my old tower! and it works wonders with the continuous 500W and a peek of 550W! as the 780 ti sips alot of power, when i upgrade the GPU i should have no worries for wattage from the power supplyTLDR: Give me some of your opinions! if you have a simmiliar build share your experiences! i would love to know more as im the pc building platform has piqued my interest. As for the AMD side of things give me your opinions or a seperate build thats also future proof! as you can see here some parts are already bought and some are still planned PICTURES TBD! On a side note does anyone have experience in coloring a case? (i wanted a pink case but in my market there arent any so i think spray painting is the next best choice)

Hi! So after a few years I've decided to upgrade my build and would like some advice as I've not built a computer for about 5 years or so. My current build: GPU: GTX 780 ti Ghz Edition, underclocked because it caused constant crashes CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3,40Ghz Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-D3H RAM: 8GB Kingston DDR3 PSU: Corsair TX650M What I quickly put together as an upgrade: GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Armor 8G CPU: Intel® Core i5-8600K, 3,6 GHZ (4,3 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1151 Motherboard: MSI Z370-A PRO, socket 1151 RAM: Crucial 8 GB DDR4-2400 Turns out its more of a new build then an upgrade. I'll be reusing my old case and PSU as I don't feel that they are due to be replaced, as well as my HDD's and SSD's (they're not as old, 1-2 years old tops). As CPU cooler I intended to use a standard intel boxed cooler as I'm not so much into overclocking or such that my temperatures matter a lot. I think it would be a pretty decent upgrade but I'm unsure if I should dish out another few hundred euros for a 1080 instead of a 1070. I'm wondering if I should I change anything, or if resuing older parts is a bad idea. Thanks in advance! edit: Fixed the amount of RAM I intended to get. edit 2: Found type of PSU

I know GPU prices are going down right now, so I would like to ask: what's a reasonable price for a used 780 ti? I'm doing a budget build right now and I know it's risky going used and also using the 7 series, but it's supposed to be a budget build so I'm trying to spend as less money as possible.

A person is selling me their 780 TI reference card for $120 (USD) is this still worth it in 2017? Will this card still be able to run newer games in good settings?
-
Just a bit of background, this is my 2nd 780 Ti. My first one died 6 months ago inexplicably, but thankfully was still under warrenty from EVGA so they sent me a replacement. The specific card model is a EVGA 780 Ti Superclocked edition, with the reference PCB and cooler. I don't know what it is, but this card doesn't seem as good as my first cooling wise. My old card didn't break a sweat playing older stuff like Half Life 2 and Garrys mod (it would stay under 60 C) but this card seems to get pretty hot no matter what I do. Even those lightweight games send my card up into 75-80 C temps and have the cooler fan screaming away. I never heard the fan on my old card unless I was running Heaven benchmark. So what could it be? Was my old GPU a lucky extra well binned chip? Is this card of a poorer binning, or are most 780 Ti's like this? As a final example, playing Overwatch on high settings @1080p brings my GPU to 83 C, meanwhile my laptop playing Overwatch on high @1080p on a 960M barely breaks 65 C. I dust my PC frequently, so the cooler isn't clogged up. Perhaps I should put new thermal paste? I have a tube of MX-4 laying around. Thanks!

Hello fellow forum members, I am relatively new to the whole PC world. My brother has graciously given me his old rig which he no longer uses. One of the main items in the rig I would like to upgrade is the GPU. Currently the GPU is a good, but out of date Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti. Ideally I would like to sell this current GPU and buy a newer, more suited GPU for running games at 60 FPS at 4k. This has really been an issue for me as I am unable to find the price for this GPU anywhere! I can find EVGA, PNY, ASUS, and GIGABYTE 780 Ti's, but nowhere can I find the regular Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti's price. Apologies if I use any incorrect terminology and/or misleading information, as I said, I am relatively new to the PC world. Thank you, - Mince

Hey everyone, like the title says, I'm thinking on buying a used card but I need to decide between the a Zotac GTX 970, EVGA 970 SSC or reference 780 ti, I would like to hear some opinions, I'm worried about the 780 ti being the oldest and will lack support soon. What does everyone think?
-
So I have to choose between buying a GTX 970 used or buying a GTX 780 Ti used for the same price. The only difference is that the 780 Ti has no warranty due to the age. Which do I choose? Kinda suspecting the 970?
-
So I called this guy on Craigslist who is selling two 780 ti's for $200. Not each... for both. This is a steal right? Like, I should totally jump on this, right? Just wanted to see if you all thought it was a great deal too.

Hello, I want to build an portable / mobile gaming and editing Rig. The Challenge is to fit my old Zotac 780 Ti (none reference cooler) in this case, wich i have lying arround, because on an upgrade on my main pc. I want to carry this pc arround by train etc, so handles would be very nice . I tought of an Lian Li PC-TU200B Mini-ITX Cube / or the smaller TU100B or an Fractal Design Node 202 But at the moment i'm not sure if my GPU would fit in there and could be cooled properly. So if any of you knows a better case or solution for this please suggest this to me -- sorry for my crappy english

I have a 780ti with an ek full cover block on it right now. I was looking at upgrading the gpu, but since its watercooled, getting a new block would be additional costs over the already expensive 980 ti. On the ek website the compatibility list for my block does not list the 980 ti, however from looking at some pictures, the pcb layouts and screw holes seem fairly similar. My block: http://www.digitalimpuls.no/PC-komponenter/Vannkj%C3%B8ling/GPU/EK/EK-FC780-GTX-Ti---AcetalNickel-G1-4-nVidia-GTX780-Ti-125239-p0000074945.aspx

Ok so the title's a bit of a joke but I have a gtx 780 ti for a while now and to start with, there's still a few programs that I have in my computer, after effects from adobe used to be one of them, and might still be but I haven't used it in so long that I don't know. Another of this programs is bandicam but basically the problem is that in this programs, they support cuda but I can't use it as they say my GPU isn't compatible, on bandicam I even checked their website to make sure it was compatible but in the program I only get Nvidia Nvenc, however I think that a while ago I used to be able to use Nvidia Cuda, and thing is now with Nvenc I can't record my screen anymore and have to go for xvid which is seriously large and gets corrupted when I import it to Premiere Pro and I tried a few alternative programs but none of them seems to be as good as bandicam in my opinion. Would anyone in here know why I can't use Cuda on bandicam and why it instantly crashes on Nvenc if I try to record any game even a sime League of Legends match for a minute or two?
