Hi there! A year and a half ago I bought a RX 6700 and I've been having an horrible experience with it. As mentioned below, I use 4 monitors where one usually has a tab from Twitch or Youtube. If for some reason I open another tab of Youtube for exemple, both videos will be lagging a LOT. Whatever monitor they're on. Same if I open a webpage with some animations (this include some media players: if the HUD? of Youtube is showing while the video is playing, the video will lag until it disappears), everything will lag for some time. In top of all that, when I press Alt+tab it's all buggy, even if I have only one Twitch/Youtube it will show like 7-8 of that tab. Few screens of this mess: https://imgur.com/a/GNNzvK9 (the screens are on Opera but the same happens on Chrome + Firefox, I just can't stand these web browsers). I've deactivated the hardware acceleration on Opera and it's now usable, but I still have all that. Sometimes the fourth monitor won't even be recognized anymore. I don't turn off any screens, I'll have to reboot maybe 5 times in order to get it to be detected (already tried to turn them off and everything but still the same). It struggles with a few games too, which I can't remember now from the top of my mind, since I've abandonned playing on PC and switched to the Steam Deck and Ps5 because of this GPU. Here are the specs of the PC: GPU: Sapphire RX 6700 CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 Motherboard: Asus ROG B450F RAM: 2x16GB CORSAIR PSU: Nox 650W Monitors: Main 1080@144, other 3 1080@60Hz Operating System & Version: Windows 11 23H2 GPU Drivers: Adrenaline 24.2.1 I have already tried this: - Uninstall drivers with DDU in safe mode. - Updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 23H2. - Switched all cables, bought new ones, changed from DP to HDMI all screens, etc. - Main monitor switch from 144 to 60Hz like the others 3. Even while using only two monitors at 1080p@60 each, still the same. - Updated BIOS and chipset. - XMP deactivated and reactivated. - Turned off Freesync on the main monitor. - Someone on Reddit advised to turn off MPO, it kind of helped but the Alt-Tab thing is still happening. I'm about to switch back to Nvidia since it doesn't seem that the card likes multi-monitors setup, but am I missing something? Thanks in advance if you read all this!

Should I get the 6650xt or the 6700 non-xt. They are basically the same price. The 6700 non-xt is $10 more.

So far it seems to make me wonder since currently not only does it have 40 CUs vs XBSX 52 CUs but also 2560 SUs vs the XBSX 3584 SUs how in the hell is it gonna be able to beat series X at 1825MHz? It most be 2250MHz or higher to even be able to reach or higer to be close to the 10.24 TFLOPS of the series X right?

So I built a PC for my family a year back and it has an Intel I7 6700, currently I Am deciding what CPU I should get for my gaming and rendering build. I don't have as big as a budget to buy another i7 but what I can buy is the Pentium G4560 (which I've heard good things about). My family uses the i7 PC for casual web browsing and opening up Microsoft Word a bit. I personally think that the i7 is an overkill now that no one will be using it to its max potential (gaming, editing, rendering). So what I wanted to do was swap the 2 CPUs for each other, but I don't want to ruin the speedy experience for anyone in my family... Would there be a big change in speed/performance for the casual user going from an i7 6700 to a pentium G4560??? ( No one else in my family will do gaming/rendering on the i7 pc after I build my own, so they will just casually use it) Any responses are greatly appreciated

Hello All. I am currently in the market for a new graphics card, and am unsure on what card to get. There are lots of different people speaking about different specs of PCs. I understand most things about graphics cards, but am still unsure. I was wondering whether I should get a RX480 and then in the future (if needed) get another. Or, should I splash the cash and then spend the extra 100 pounds on a GTX1070, but in the future, having to buy a new motherboard if I want to SLI that thing. My Current Specs Are: -Intel Core i7 6700 -NVidia GTX 960 -Other misc. things that shouldn't really matter, at least I think they shouldn't. So, what should I do, RX480 with the option of upgrading or should I get a 1070 without the option to upgrade? I play games like DayZ and Arma, which I have heard run better on NVidia cards, but I don't know if that matters much in performance. Thanks guys! Ryan

So I'm in the middle of changing som hardware on my PC and I've come up with 2 solutions 1. Intel® LGA1151 Core i7-6700K, ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING, Socket-1151, Kingston ValueRam DDR4 2133MHz 16GB vs 2. Intel Core i5-7600K Kaby Lake Processor, ASUS ROG Strix Z270F Gaming, Socket-1151, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 16GB The computer is mainly used for gaming, programming, and video editing. If somebody can help me choose whatever is better it would be a great help -kind regards Gabba

So as my signature still says, I used to have an i5 and obviously i5s are good for gaming, but not gaming & streaming, so my buddy gave me his i7 6700 when he upgraded to Ryzen 1700x, I installed it today, put fresh paste, re-installed the cooler and everything went fine, but I'm getting oddly high CPU usage, when gaming & streaming at the same time, it's like 80%, but my buddy says when he had the processor, his was below like 20%, not sure how that's possible but if it is, why the heck would mine be 60% higher? Surely this processor is no god by any means, but I feel it should be better than this, or was I just expecting too much? Also, my average FPS in PUBG went down from 60s on my i5 to 40s with my i7, weird right? I don't know if it's my ram, or motherboard, I know my ram is slow I need faster, but my motherboard only supports 2133. You guys have any ideas? Am I just expecting too much out of this thing?Or do you think there's possibly a power delivery problem on my motherboard? If so after I sell my i5, I could buy a new one, but I didn't wanna invest in a Z170 board since it's not a K skew CPU.

Hey everyone, I'm wondering if the 7700 is worth the $30 over the 6700. Like what features does the 7700 offer other than marginally higher base clocks? Thanks in advance!

So a while back I bought an i7-6700k. I just installed it im my system about 2 weeks ago, and I'm getting random temperature spikes from idle (about 33c) to 45 or 50c on just one or two cores. The spikes caused my fans to speed up since I have them on a CPU temp based fan curve. I ran a stress test (IBT) and temps got into the 80s... Is this a case cooling issue? Here's my current build. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/rcnyFd

Fresh off the new wan show.. with ROG saying they could be made compatible but are locked out... why do you think older 170/270 cpus would be locked out of being put in the new 370 mobos? Especially since you basically cant get your hands on a new 8700k anyway so placing the older 6600k in there as a place holder until stock arrives for coffeelake would be nice

print ("Hello World") I just bought an i7-6700k, and I am very excited. I am using a Micro Star International Z170 SLI Plus motherboard with a Dark Rock Pro 3 cooler. I would like to know what a safe OC Vcore and temperature is. What should I aim for?

G'day guys. Just a simple one today So, in light of the Holiday Buyers Guide 2016 video that was put out on the LTT channel, I'm re-considering my next computer build. In the $2000 build in the video Linus uses a Core i7 6800k. Now in my future build I'm planning on a 6700k. My question is... As a guy who does a mix of video editing, gaming, Adobe projects and probably some 3d work. Which cpu do you guys think would offer me the best performance for what I want to do? and would the price increase for the 2011-3 mobo and cpu of about +$300 more (Australian Dollars) be worth that performance increase? I don't know these parts that well, so any insight you all had would be fantastic That's guys!

Alright, take 2. Essentially I'm building a pc for the first time, and initially it's handling one monitor for gaming, streaming, and a number of light background tasks. in the future however, possibly within a year, it will also be expected to handle graphic design on top of the previous gaming and light tasks, plus 2 monitors rather than one, and one of which will be at 1440 rather than 1080p. Is it worth the investment early so I have hyperthreading and what will be a fairly marginal performance improvement for now, in order to avoid any issues down the line when I pick up the later tasks? Thanks for the input so far by the way, this has been my first post on here and you've all been both informative and patient, I appreciate that a lot. ~Owl

Hi folks, I've a problem with my WD Black 2TB with my Asus Z170 Pro Gaming MB, whenever I give restart, HDD doesn't get's recognized and also it's not showing up in Boot device in my Bios dues to some reason and it'll show up once I shutdown the PC. I've this problem from the day one, a few months my dad installed new W10 Pro without knowing he updated all the drivers, and the restart function in Windows was working as it supposed to be. few days I reinstalled OS to W10 Pro, and the restart problem comes back, it just annoying. I've never used this HDD to check with anyother system whether the other PC suffers the same fate. Things which I've done updated bios, updated all the mb drivers, have used different sata 6g cables and in different ports. I'll attach screenshots which shows you how the bios looks after hitting restart and shutting down pc. Pls help this problem is just annoying to deal with. Ty in advance. Thanks and regards, Yash

Hi everyone, So here's my dilemma, I have a 6700 paired with a H170 board. I am fairly certain that my H170 board's 8-PIN CPU connection is loose, and will fail permanently soon. Currently there are only H270s left on the market, should I just get a new H270? Or go for a full upgrade? I looked at the stats of 8700s and they only offer a negligible improvement for gaming. Some backstory: This is the second time I was troubleshooting the same problem - my computer would not start up, (no Post, BIOS nothing), I found out that my 8-pin CPU pin was loose. The first time I just checked all connections and my PC worked after (I think I just knocked it into the right angle). After adjusting its angle my computer would start up, so I am strongly certain that the CPU was not getting any power before I adjusted the angle. I'm fairly confident that everything is fine, as I ran an AIDA64 stress test for an hour with no issues. I have also managed to game perfectly fine. Opinions on the matter? If anyone has opinions on other avenues of troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated, (in case I missed anything). Troubleshooting log: Unplugged everything from the computer Checked the PSU connections Re-seated RAM, (I know there were no beeps, but I did it anyway) Specs: Intel Core i7 6700 Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB Cooler Master GM Series 80 plus Bronze 650W Gigabyte H170-HD3 (Mobo) MSI Gaming X 1070 GTX Windows 10 64bit (duh)

So I just started folding@home and decided to check my CPU temps. With 4 threads utilized in folding, the max temp on the CPU is about 80 degrees Celsius. I have the Intel stock cooler. Is this normal? Should I upgrade my cooling, maybe an AIO water cooler? Thanks! System:

Im building a new gaming machine and my concerns are about the mobo, I dont know if I should go with the MSi b150 M3 or the MSi H170 M3. The other components. GTX 1070 Founders Edition i7 6700 Samsung 750 250gb Fractal Design 600W 16GB HyperX DDR4 2133MHz The B150 mobo is 20$ cheaper and will set my build at exactly 1300$ (swedish stores) so what do you think, wwill it bottleneck my setup?

To make this long story short, I was given a prebuilt that suffered from the same problems I'm having now. I thought I could fix it and save some money by keeping the CPU. I now have the i7 6700 mated with an Asrock H170M Pro 4 motherboard, a Rosewill 500W, 16Gb Crucial Ballistix ram, and a Kingston 258Gb SSD. I am completely able to boot into the bios and configure anything. The problem lies when I try to boot off of my windows 10 installation media. I get the Windows logo and then the damned Frowny face of death. My errors all seem to be CPU based and I can't figure out what else to do. I've tried everything I can think of. Please do your best to help me as I really don't look forward to replacing the cpu. Anything is appreciated
