Hi! I've been watching the pentium G4560 and watching some reviews saying that it's better than the FX 6300. I was planning on waiting on AMD zen but I just saw this cpu for 65$ instead of 80$ it usually goes for. I will not stick with this CPU, I will upgrade it at the end of this year and planned to put this CPU with MSI B250 gaming pro AC mobo and 8gb of ram into a HTPC build. I just wanted to ask for some advice if this would be a good idea or if the g4560 maybe is a bad choice and just wait and build the HTPC later. I almost excclusively play WOW so I was wondering if someone maybe new if this CPU is better for WOW or not. My setup now is FX6300 in a MSI gaming 970 mobo and 8gb DDR3. total build cost would be about 240$. I don't live in the US so the prices may not be the same here as in the US.

Hello everyone! So I got an H55 cooler from corsair. I OC'ed to 4.1GHz on my FX-6300. However that's not the problem. The problem is that after the OC, it now won't run anywhere under 4.06GHz. Why is that? I would think that when idle, it should go below that, to save power and keep cool, right?

Hello, I just recently over clocked my and fx-6300 3.5ghz to 4.4ghz. I'm getting idle temps of around 22° on hwmonitor and various other CPU monitors. The temps only go up to around 25° when gaming. Is this normal for a stock cooler? CPU:FX-6300 GPU: MSI RX 480 MOBO: MSI 970 Gaming PSU: Thermaltake 650w

Which CPU is better? The FX 6300 or the i5 7600?

Parts: Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming CPU: AMD FX-6300 GPU: Zotac GTX 1050 ti PSU: EVGA 600 B1, 80+ BRONZE 600W RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 2133 MHz When I turn it on, all of the fans and LEDs power up without issue. The buzzer however gives me 5 beeps which according to online sources means a CPU issue. In addition however, my graphics card will power on but will not output any video to the monitor. Another problem concerning me is that USB peripherals plugged into the USB ports directly connected to the motherboard experience power flickering; they will turn on and off once a second. Out of all of the USB ports, there are only 3 that will even power the peripherals at all, the rest flicker as previously stated. I believe that this could be a defective motherboard but i’m not sure if it could be the CPU or PSU causing any of the issues. Any ideas? [SOLVED] I narrowed the solution down to a defective motherboard and RMA-ed the board. Upon installing the new board they sent me, the computer started up perfectly fine no issues at all. Hope this helps someone!

Hi.. sorry for my English, I'm from Argentina. I'm waiting for Nvidia 20-series to come down in price, because here in Argentina a 2070 is like 1000 USD. So I decided to use an old graphics (a GT 730) from my old computer. I removed the 730 from my old PC, so I can reuse it on my new one. The problem is that I need 2 video displays on my old PC, so my cousins borrow me and old GT 620. When I installed it, I discover that it doesn't work, but it shows video very well.. I explain myself: when I disconnected, my GT 730, my mobo integrated graphics works well, but I need 2 video output and it only has one (yes, that's and old mobo. It's a M5A78L-M LX3 ) So I connected the 620. When I started Windows I find that I have video output but the GT 620 was not working (error 43) it seems that the graphics was broken, because when I enter the bios it's seems really rare, with lines everywhere. So, my old graphic card show what my mobo integrated graphics process. Can I use it as a secondary display? I want to tell the bios that I want to use the integrated graphics, so I can connect 1 monitor into the mobo and one into the graphics, but I want to use the graphics only as a video output. I don't want it to process the image or something like that. Is it possible??

So, I made the choice of getting a Radeon RX5700 about a week ago, and I've been loving it ever since, but it's really funky with my trash CPU. I was in need of a GPU after my previous one failed, so I went for a worth-while purchase and got the RX5700 while it was on sale for about only $290. It runs incredibly well on certain games and its speed is exceptional, destroying my other consideration in almost every way: the 1660Ti. However, my old setup is lagging me behind while using this GPU. I'm still running AM3+, my CPU being an unlocked AMD FX 6300, my ram being a pathetic 1333mhz, but totaling 16gb of ddr3 memory, my other stuff's a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 r2 MB, solid state main drive, some storage HDD's, you get the picture. When I try using the GPU while gaming, things get a little weird. Some games run fine, like Forza Horizon 4 and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy (Max Graphics for Both). However some games using older architecture, like even something insanely light like Java Vanilla Minecraft, will cause lag in places that are WAY within this beastly card's limitations. I find this so strange because I'll be running a new game like Spyro with no sweat at 60fps, fullscreen, ultra graphics and vsync, but the moment I run something that isn't a newly built game, like Destiny 2, (Steam Port), I get horrid lag (avg. 40 fps) when viewing a lot of geometry, that doesn't change at all despite me altering my graphics settings from absolute low to absolute highest. My main guess is because this card is so new and beefy, my old CPU just isn't good enough for keeping up with the Navi framework when it tries to run older games. However, if I know AMD well enough, it could be a driver-side incompatibility, something they just haven't gotten around to fixing yet, or perhaps never will since they've dropped their FX line of products years ago. I'm planning on upgrading my setup to AM4+, but a good out-of-the-box setup for a gaming rig that uses the full power of this card would be $400. I know my setup's garbage, but I'm considering running with it for at least a bit more time. Until I can afford a proper and steady upgrade, are there any sort of suggestions anybody might have about increasing the level of compatibility so older stuff can run more smoothly?

Hi everyone. I'm using my little brother's computer to play Watch Dogs 2. He used t have an older card, but has since upgraded to a 6gb GTX 1060. However in Watch Dogs 2 no matter what I do, I can't get the game to run at a steady 50 fps much less 60 at 1080p. This doesn't seem right to me, since I always figured the 1060 should pretty much slay most games at 1080, or at least run them at reasonable fps on high. He's also told me that he at times has issues with other games running like this too, like Deus Ex Mankind Divded and even some less demanding games. He's running an AMD FX 6300 6 core. Which is the only thing I could think would maybe be the issue? It's an older and cheaper CPU. His motherboard is a ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 so I don't think he could run a new Ryzen CPU though. Any suggestions on what could be causing this performance loss?

Would upgrading to a Pentium G4560 from a FX 6300 be a smart choice? And would there be any bottlenecks with a Pentium G4560 and a 750 Ti. Yes I am aware that I will need a new mobo as well as ddr4 memory, that's not a problem.

Having a problem on deciding if I should upgrade my old GPU from a 750 ti to a 1050 ti. Or upgrading my fx 6300 to a better CPU before dropping money on a new GPU. Specs v AMD Fx 6300 OC 3.76 EVGA 750ti SC 12gb ram DDR3 120gb Sandisk SSD 1TB WD Black HDD MSI 970A-G43 Thermaltake TR2 600W

Good morning y'all, I'm thinking about upgrading my PC this holiday season. My current rig consists of an FX-6300 paired with a GTX 750Ti along with 16 gigabytes of RAM and a Corsair 430 watt power supply. I'm not worried about storage or cooling, I already have that handled. I'm expecting to only be able to upgrade either the CPU and motherboard (overclocking is not important to me) or the GPU (something like a 1050ti). The question is should I upgrade the CPU to something like a Ryzen 3 1200 or and Intel i3? Or should I just pair a 1050ti with my current CPU, and if so how much of a bottleneck would that create? Thanks for your time, -MadRussian42

I was looking into getting a 1060 to replace my 660, Will I have bottlenecking problems with a AMD fx 6300 cpu? Its a black edition, if that makes a difference. Thank you!

Currently ive got a gtx 950 and an fx6300 but am looking to play new titles like battlefield 1, titan fall 2, or witcher 3 wild hunt. I've been looking to get a gtx 1060 but is it a good idea to pair it w/ an fx6300? Will it bottleneck? i have a 212 evo so i could overclock. If it is too bottleneck is it a good idea to get an 8350? I could get an intel chip instead but i kinda dont feel comfortable with having to get a brand new m.b and the $200+ price tag of the cpu.

So i have a FX 6300 it is saying i will get 66 points per day, is that normal. The points seem very low compared to my gpu at over 1000.

I have a 6350 on my main system , was a sweet little chip back in 2012-2013 , but nobody is recommending it or it's little brother (6300) nowadays. The architecture is old and the chip kicks 50C after 2 min in DOOM and 70C after a 1:30 hour gaming session, so I get why but it looks to me that it's performance is not half bad, especially for the price. Yet still people don't recommend it, albeit if you buy it it's pretty much standard to get an after-market cooler to overclock it aswell. Still less expensive and better performing than the i3-4170 at around the same price . . . or is it ? I made a pc for a friend with the i3 in question , it performed phenomenally but his resolution was lower than 720p so I can't really compare it's performance with my rig. Can somebody with hands on experience fill me in ?

hello i have been overclocking my fx 6300 rig and i wanted to know what other people with the same or similar CPU are getting and what the highest that this cpu has ever been overclocked to has anyone got anything??

Hi! I am pretty new here, wanted to hear what you guys and gals think I should do. Currently my PC has a FX6300 and an XFX 7950. Was wondering what should I upgrade first and to what. I can only really afford to upgrade one thing right now. Budget of around $150 CAD and whatever I can sell what I am switching out for. I am not averse to buying used if that will get me a good deal. I live in Toronto, if that helps. Thank you so much!

Hi! I have a problem with my computer. The problem is that when I turn it on it loops 2-3 times before turning on and also when loading into specificaly WOW it sometimes freezes, could this be because of my motherboard not supplying enough power? My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P. I can't get any overclock either because then my computer will just shutdown. I was thinking either buying a new motherboard like the new MSI 970 gaming, what I've read is that I should get a board with 6 powerphases and the board I have only has 4. It looks like the MSI 970 gaming has 8. I've looked at the Gigabyte GA-990FX-gaming to but I would like to have the cheapest board I can get. The thing I want is in the future get a Z170 board with a 6700k so if the board is not a solution I can save up a little and get a Z170 and a 6100 with 8gb DDR4 in the meantime and save up for a 6700K later. What do you think I should do? Or is the problem something else? It just feels like a power delivery problem.

My PSU recently said goodnight and I had to replace it today. Came home from Best Buy, wired everything up, and now my clock speed won't go above 1.37 GHz. I have an AMD FX6300 hexacore processor running at 3.5 GHz stock, 4.1 GHz OC. It currently is not overclocked but even when I do, the clock speed still won't run at max speed. Here are my specs: CPU: AMD FX-6300 @ 3.5GHZ GPU: ASUS R7 265 2gb RAM: 4x4gb Kingston HyperX FURY @ 1866 MHz PSU: Corsair CX750M (newly added as of today) Mobo: MSI 870 Gaming Running on a ADATA SP550 240gb SSD Windows 10 version 1511 64bit I searched the interwebs and most were saying to check your power saving mode ,and so I changed it to high performance with no avail. Also, as far as I know, core parking is not a part of Windows 10 so that can't be the issue either. CPU-Z says my core speed is 1400MHz which is where the problem occurs. The multiplier is at 7 and even when I change it to 20 (~4.0GHz) the speed does not increase. Went in to BIOS and disabled AMD's Cool'n'Quiet option with no results. I've attached a screenshot that shows the problem. Right at startup, the clock speed is only at 1.33 GHz, while off on the right hand side, you can see the maximum speed is 3.5GHz. The clock speed stays like this even under load. I launch GTA5 which will only utilize about 50% of my processor running at 3.5GHz, but it underperforms at only about 40% utilized and refuses to go any higher even with other programs open. Here is a screenshot of the system under load: I used HWMonitor to see what was going on, and apparently it was using all six of my cores at 100%, but the task manager still says it is only using about 40% of is potential. So the big question is: wtf is going on? I'm suspecting a hardware issue that correlated to the failed PSU but everything seems to work fine. All six cores will run at 100%, and I doubt it could be anything else since I can clearly see that the clock speed will not reach maximum speed no matter what.

I've been looking into my computer temps, and I'm not sure if what I see should be worrying. I've used Asus AISuite and Open Hardware Monitor, and both are reporting different CPU temps. I did look into it, and it seems as if AISuite is displaying my motherboard chipset temps. Which leads to the question(s); Should I worry about my motherboard temps and if so, what's in the range of acceptability or my CPU temps (well duh, I should worry about that, but I mean my CPU is always like 20 degrees Celsius lower than the mobo temps) any help appreciated.
