TLDR; anyone know an AM4 motherboard with dual HDMI out or (less ideally) a 1440p 60Hz DisplayPort to HDMI adapter? Building my dad a PC and want minimal points of failure cause I hate being tech support so going 5600G (onboard graphics) with dual 1440p 60 Hz HDMI monitors he already has, only problem is that the adapters for DisplayPort/HDMI I have atm are 1080p... The video outs he has now are one HDMI and one DisplayPort so one is on the 'blurry' 1080p adapter so I wanted a motherboard with dual HDMI output but can't find any.... other alternative is to use a 1440p 60hz compatible DisplayPort -> HDMI adapter note - I'm not building the whole pc to solve this one problem, he needs a new one anyway Budget (including currency): cheapest possible Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: N/A Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 5600G, -
I have an i5 7200U with intel hd 620. Im buying a new monitor. I can squeeze every drop of fps possible from games and get 60-ish. even if my performance goes up, i will improve the graphics quality and bring it down to 60-ish. im not interested in fps above it in games. Should I invest in a monitor with 75Hz if im not gonna use 75fps in games? Will it be worth it for general use of the pc or for watching videos or anything? Im gonna be running linux for max performance and will play Minecraft. If 75hz is not needed, ill get a 60Hz monitor itself.

I recently changed the display on my laptop after the old one broke. I put in this exact panel instead of the 1080p 144Hz panel I had before. However, before and after updating GPU drivers (both intel and Nvidia) I don't have the option to choose another resolution. The Nvidia control panel is also missing every single option apart from the 3D settings. I've also checked the Intel Graphics control panel and it too is devoid of any meaningful options. My laptop has an RTX2070 MaxQ and Intel UHD 630. I've already tried removing and reinstalling all GPU drivers (Intel and Nvidia). I don't really game much on this laptop but I wanted a smoother experience than 60Hz as I need it mainly for work. Would this be a bandwidth problem ? Do I need to change the eDP cable as well or is it that my GPU just can't handle 2K at 165Hz (i have managed run an ext. monitor with the same laptop hitting 2K @ 120FPS in less demanding titles, it dips to 50FPS in newer titles).

Planning to build a new system in about 1-2 years. Hi everybody, I have a problem. In 2 months i will move to a bigger place to live, and for that i'm planning to upgrade from my trusty old friend the BenQ XL2420T (1080p120hz) to something less ancient. First i planned on getting a 1440p with 144hz (-or more) for gaming, a 4k60hz for watching videos and my old one as a third screen (Just because I can :D). But after some research i saw that a setup with mixed Hz seems to cause a lot of problems and is not advised. I don't know what the best solution might be for me, and so i came here to look for some advice on the best solution. Is there a way to make that setup work or do i have to live with the fact that all of them have to be "expensive" 144hz (-or more^^) monitors? I also appreciate any advice to "What resolution is a good choice for gaming" and "is more then 144hz worth it?"because I'm still not to sure about those things aswell. Hey all, I have an HP gaming laptop that has a 144hz, 1080p built in display. I also have a 1440p, 144hz external monitor that I use with my desktop, running through a displayport cable. The issue I am seeing is, even though I have the external monitor set at 1440p, 144hz in NVidia control panel and in Windows' display setting, this configuration is not available in games that I run. I have tried Overwatch, COD Cold War and Valheim. I am only able to select 1080p, 144hz or 1440p, 60hz in-game. Now, I am using the exact same displayport cable that I use for my desktop through a USB C adapter - this problem actually did not exist prior to me sending my laptop back to HP for a bad NVME drive under warranty. But, since I have gotten it back, this problem persists. I have tried what I know and the only solution that I can find is only showing the display on the external monitor, ie. not duplicating the displays in Windows. This is fine I guess, but I like to use the 144hz, 1080p screen as a second monitor while I play (again, I used to do this prior to sending it to HP). What am I missing here? Thanks! -
I currently have this beauty but only problem is it is 60hz. I recently was able to get a 3060 and have a ryzen 7 5800x. Looking for a good curved monitor that’s still 30-32in and has good hz, 140 and up. White would also be a plus but very hard to find. Please help me complete my setup. Thank you

i noticed when i went to overclock my 60hz 1080p monitor that i had an option to change it to 60hz interlaced i did a bit of googling and found a few random bits of information that suggested its possible to double the fps by interchanging every second line of pixels to imitate 120hz. is this false or would it improve competitive gaming experience on a budget? (terrible visuals aside)

I just got the Samsung Odyssey G5 but it doesn't allow me to set it to 144hz and is stuck at 59,95hz I have searched on multiple furums and tried everything but nothing works, i have both tried a DP cable and the HDMI cable that came in the box. I have updated my driver but that also didn't fix it does anyone know a solution that i haven't tried yet? specs: Windows 11 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU 16GB RAM Samsung Odyssey G5 2021 144hz 27 inch -
Hi all! I'm currently moving and am looking to buy a new TV for my place. I was hoping Linus had another TV review out but no luck. Here's a list of features I'd appreciate: 4k display Good HDR with deep black and hopefully no burn in (OLED) high refresh rate fast response time at least 65" VESA mountable built in smart features not necessary HDMI 2.1 capable I'm going to be using it mostly with my XBOX series X, I want to get the max possible refresh rate out of it to get its best experience. I also am connecting DirecTV and would like for it to work well with a PC in the future. My budget is about $2k but am willing to bend a little for certain features if worth it. I'm currently using R9 380 for my Samsung TU8000 4k UHD TV, however the supported max resolution is only 4096x 2160 (30hz). If I would to swap my current R9 380 to Galax GTX 1660 6GB, will my system able to run the screen resolution at 4096x 2160 (60hz)? I have also attached a screenshot of the TV specs as a reference

I am currently using a HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-dk0010tx. I have been on the internet for a while looking for proper specs of this laptop regarding the HDMI port version. To my understanding, 144hz requires the laptop to have a 2.0 HDMI port. I have searched a lot, and most websites only list the laptop has a "HDMI x1 Port" So, main question here, is my laptop able to support 144hz 1080p output? Currently ordered a 70hz monitor instead of a 144 as it is cheaper and I still do not know if my laptop will be able to support 144hz output. The laptop does have a USB C port, guessing could do a USB C to DP adapter for 144hz.

my acer nitro ed270 xbmiipx won't go above 59.940hz, im using a displayport cable, my gpu drivers are up to date, i had a previous 165hz monitor that would do 165hz easily, but this monitor is 240hz and it wont go higher than 59hz, HELP!!

Currently planning on buying a gaming monitor as an external monitor for my laptop. My laptop model is HP Pavilion gaming 15 ec0063ax that has an HDMI 2.0 port connected to the discrete graphics card (GTX 1650). I researched about monitor connectivity and I am worried that it will not be able to show 144 hz on the external monitor, if so, what could I do to use a 144hz monitor on my laptop?

So I bought this laptop, last Saturday. I was excited to play shooters and then I noticed it is only limited to 60hz in games even though it clearly says that the chosen refresh rate is 144hz. Same with CSGO. Please help.

Hey Guys, Recently finished building my new PC with a 5900x and a RTX 3080. However, I am still waiting for my new 1440p 144Hz monitor to arrive next week, so I am just using my 1080p 144hz monitor in the mean time. It is a BenQ XL2411T and only has Dual-Link DVI, VGA and HDMI connections. So the way I have connected to my GPU is with a Display-Port to DVI adapter. However, the GeForce control panel is only showing a 60Hz option. I have tried using HDMI also but nothing changed. Anyone that can provide assistance would be much appreciated! Also, the new monitor I am waiting on is the Dell S2719DGF and read that it only comes with a HDMI cable. Will this cable support 1440p @ 144Hz out of the box? Or do I have to go out and buy a Display Port cable? Cheers! -
I'm looking into buying the ASUS TUF A15 and i'm confused on whether i should get a 1660ti with 144hz display or a 2060 with a 60 hz display as theyre both almost the same price and i cant afford the 2060 144hz. I do play competetive games and eye candy games so I'm not really sure which one I wanna go for. Does 144hz really make that big of a difference? I know the 2060 is about 15-20% better in games, but I dont know where I could place the refresh rate upgrade in comparison -

So my problem is that when ever I put obs on my second monitor(not streaming just opened or streaming) or watching any youtube video or twitch stream and playing games on my main Monitor, I start stuttering really really bad! I know this is a common problem but I haven't found a solution yet! I TRIED: Put scaling to GPU in NVIDIA control panel on both monitors Downscaling 144hz monitor to 120hz In NVIDIA Inspector multi display was already in Single display performance mode Disabling OBS preview Checking the disable fullscreen optimization in the compatibility tab of the game I turned off Hardware acceleration in Google Thank you for all the answers!!!!

Currently I have a Dell S2716DG 144Hz 1440p 27" monitor (https://www.dell.com/lv/business/p/dell-s2716dg-monitor/pd) and would like to buy a second, cheap, similar looking one for a dual display setup - Dell P2419H 60Hz 1080p 24" monitor. (https://www.dell.com/hr/business/p/dell-p2419h-monitor/pd). I've read lots of forums and reddit posts but the opinions vary, so you are the community I trust. #floatplane My question is, is it possible to connect them both easily at their own resolution and refresh rate without any problems or a bigger performance impact?

Hi! I have a Dell XPS 13 (4k screen) and I'm trying to connect it to a monitor through a dock. The laptop connects to the dock through Thunderbolt 3, and then the dock connects to the monitor with Display Port. I can't get 60hz on the screen, unless I lower the resolution. Now I know that display port should be able to do that, and so does thunderbolt 3. So is the dock the problem? Is the problem that the thunderbolt 3 connection shares bandwidth with whatever else connects to the dock? Or am I missing something? The gpu in the laptop is an Intel Iris plus. I thought that maybe the Display Adapter wasn't strong enough, but I can't get to it 4k@60 even when it's only on one display, so I guess it's not the problem. Thanks in advance!

Looking to upgrade my bedroom TV for the last few years I've had a 55" 1080 TV in the bed room and haven't really done much with it. I watch mostly YouTube and stream movies and TV shows occasionally. I've got a fairly capable PC with a 7600k and a 3070ti and am looking to get a xbox series x in the new year. I'm now looking to upgrade and I'm stuck at a cross roads between QLED or a cheap OLED both have amazing reviews both from good companies but just looking on other opinions. I recently bought the aforementioned monitor, but I cannot get it to run faster than 60Hz. I have an RX 580, which has DP 1.4, and I use the cable they gave with the monitor, so I expect to have 4k 120Hz. Also tried to set the color to 8bit and also to 4:2:2, none of these help. To be clear, I would like to avoid the latter option, it just seems strange to me that it did not impact the max available refresh rate.

Hello everyone, I have a question about a weird glitch my monitor has when I use 144hz on it, If you look at the attached file you can see what happens when I start my computer for the first time on 144hz. This lasts 10-20 minutes and then everything goes as normal. when I change my display properties in windows of this monitor to 60hz this instantly stops and I have no problems anymore. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this and use 144hz without problems? I use 2 monitors. 1 is a 60hz monitor the other is a 144hz monitor. the 144hz monitor is connected using a display port and the 60hz monitor is connected via hdmi Thank you! IMG_3112.mov

Hello LTT! i have a problem, please help me When I'm gaming on my 240hz samsung g7, it's amazing, but when i watch content (youtube, movies, videos etc) the image is not smooth, it's uncomfortable to watch, do you know what i can do about it? Some info: i have msi mechrx6600xt GPU, connected to monitor with displayport 1.4 I enabled Freesync on the monitor menu, so it doesn't let me change refresh rate, (i heard that freesync is good when you have AMD GPU) what can i do to fully enjoy this monitor both ways))) Also i use it in SDR mode, not HDR -
Hello! I am currently on a 60hz monitor for the past few years and I was considering going for a 144hz monitor. But I am a bit skeptical that my graphics card won't handle 144hz in gaming. My GPU is the MSI GTX 1650 Super Aero ITX OC Edition (4GB GDDR6 V-RAM). And if needed, My CPU is the Intel Core i5-11400F (6 Cores/12 Threads). And about my GPU not handing 144hz when gaming, I'd like to have my graphics preset usually high or ultra (if capable). I was wondering with what to go with, either a new GPU (The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 3050 OC Edition 8GB) for $610. Or get the AOC C24G1 144Hz 24” Curved Display for $255. Prices are high in Palestine so I can't really do much. I would love to your opinions on this and I'd appreciate it! Thanks!
