Hello everyone, it's my second post on the forum! The thing is, i got my MSI 1070ti since early 2018 and i'm very satisfied with it since it cover all my needs up to this day, but i'm starting to think about it's age and now i found the perfect oportunity to propose a deal into swapping (and maybe throw some cash on it if it's worth and/or needed) for a newer (still used, but never for mining though) AMD 5700 XT from a friend who is asking for a Nvidia graphics card due to it's work that could benefit more from optimization if he got CUDA cores instead of the AMD cores (don't know if they market some name for actually). It feels like a solid deal for me, naturally i googled and compared several experiences and scenarios, but they were from years ago and since i remember hearing AMD struggling with driver issues at launch (flashbacks of my former R9 270 also having driver issues poping in my mind) i do wonder if they are still somewhat present, but we came long ways now in time and i hope they are pretty solid cards now. It is worth to mention that my desktop is rocking since 2015 with a i7 4770 CPU, 16 gigs of RAM DDR3 1600 and a H81M-vg4 mobo which only has PCIe 2.0 x16. Since then i upgraded storage, swapped twice my power supply, currently running a Corsair VS600, and as mentioned, swapped my old AMD GPU for this 1070ti i have right now without issues to this day. I would like to hear some opinions if maybe i could expect some surprises since the 5700xt actually uses PCIe 4.0 x16 and i admit don't know much about it other than the obvious difference of bandwith. Thanks in advance for any piece of info!

Hello everybody, I'm planning on updating my system this BF, and I have some questions. Full spec: Ryzen 3800x cooler master ml240l PowerColor red devil 5700XT Gigabyte X570 Aorus elite G.skill Trident Z Neo 16GB 3600Mhz Corsair mp600 0.5TB PNY xlr8 cs3030 2TB Corsair RM650x Cooler Master Masterbox K500 RGB I'm planning on updating my GPU, RAM, PSU, and case (maybe), hopefully to a 4070 or 6950 level. 1. Should I update my CPU and MB too? I feel I can go with them for a few more years, but I am afraid of bottlenecking, what do you think? 2. Do I need a new PSU for 4070 or 6950 level? 3. Regardless, what is the best Bang for buck GPU now? 4. I also so that RAM speed are really high now, what is the relative mid-high speed now? Thanks for any help.

I tried to look this up before asking but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so I figured I would make a new post. I am using a new 5700xt Thicc III from XFX. I am mining through NiceHash while I do work to make a little extra money. I upped the fan speeds to where they are operating around 90% right now. My current temperatures are as follows. GPU Temp: 67c GPU hot spot: 78c Memory Temp: 88c What is the difference between these three temps and specifically, what is memory temp and should it be that high? Are they all in the normal range? Thanks!

Hi All, I've been pulling my hair out since May of 2020 when AMD updated their drivers and killed Rocket League in DX11. Ever since then I've been putting up with 25-55fps in game no matter what resolution or setting I choose. Here is a pic at 2560x1440 in the menu with everything turned on. Here is a pic at 640x480 with everything turned off. As you can see, the fps doesn't even change in the menu. If I force DX9 I can get 250+fps in game easily, but I have to deal with some crashing and textures missing as they no longer officially support it. If anyone has any idea what I could do to fix it that would be amazing. Google searches tend to lead me to issues that aren't related to mine and finding anything DX11 specific is a nightmare. I have a Mac mini 2018 with a Razer core EGPU. Windows 10 latest version drivers all up to date. i7 8700 32Gb DDR4 2400 1Tb NVME AMD RX 5700XT i get 250+ FPS in RL on DX9 70-130fps in shadow of the tomb raider 60-90 in CoD modern warfare its capable, there’s just something wrong!

Built my system a little over a year ago, an R5 3600X with 5700XT, specifically with a freesync VIOTEK GN24CW 1080p. No problems at all for a year. Then for the holidays, I picked up a GSYNC compatible ASUS VG27A 1440p. Both 144hz panels. I thought that meant freesync as well at the time, but that's not the issue here (I think). Not long after I got the new monitor, I started noticing that games would crash immediately on startup, all due to driver timeouts or similar error messages. There was a driver released in October last year that is stable and produces no issues, but I have tried every single driver released since then, and every single one produces the same issue without fail after the second or third power cycle. It's never an issue on initial install however. It's always been fine immediately after so long as it's not put to sleep or powered off. Every time I tried a new driver, I always ran DDU and redownloaded the driver/radeon software from AMD. I've tried turning freesync/gsync off on both panels (not an issue since I've mostly been playing flight simulator recently). More recently I tried disconnecting the ASUS GSYNC panel on startup, updating the drivers, and seeing what happened. This seemed to delay the onset of the problem, but as soon as I left the monitor plugged in on start, the issue reappeared. This makes me think that the issue somehow lies with the GSYNC monitor's mere existence, but that doesn't really make sense in any way. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm really getting tired of this issue appearing, and I like to keep my drivers fresh if possible.

I plan to buy an used 5700xt when the mining craze is done, and play with it (I come from a 980ti which can have it's bios modded for unlimited potential, so standards are high). Do the powerplay tables offer voltage control over the gddr6? Or perhaps other rails which may benefit memory overclocking? With core overclocking being so underwhelming, I'm thinking a healthy 950-1000mhz memory clock will boost performance significantly.

Basically, for about three weeks now I've had a problem where my drivers would out of nowhere without any notification just downgrade or update themselves to this version that I've never heard of, the 21.30.23 drivers release. I've disabled Windows Updates, and I've had this issue happen three times. Every time, I would try to record something and notice ReLive won't start, then I open AMD and I see it's got no ReLive cause it's downloaded these stupid drivers. I did a clean install of 21.10.2 with DDU two times when the issue occured, and once with AMD Cleanup. Just now, it happened again, whilst I was playing a game. No screen flickering, no notification pop ups, nothing. I rolled back the drivers and will see if it happens again. The drivers that keep being downloaded for whatever reason: https://imgur.com/X17d2rO

5700xt Gigabyte 5700xt replacing shroud with 2x120mm case fans
hergarian posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello! First time poster here. I need some help concerning my 5700xt project. I'm planning to remove the original shroud/fan assembly off of my Gigabyte 5700xt and replace it with two Actic P12s. Reason for that simply being noise. I don't want to run them using a motherboard fanheader, so I'm planning to connect them to my GPU fanheader and let them be controlled via that. Thing is, I can't find any diagram or something of that sort onling showing me what pin is responsible for what and in which orientation. Also I'm unsure on how the fans will behave. The original assebly is rated for 12V 0.35AMP while one arctic fan is 12V 0.08AMP. Will that be a problem? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english -
Hello guys i have a wierd problem Help is much appreciated I have a 5700xt pulse been serving me well since i bought it in jan 2020 I was playing a game then my system hard crashed and after rebooting it gave me no signal and the gpu leds turned off after replugging the gpu its working again however now is running hotter than before even at 100% fan speed with open case room temp is 25°c Gpu die temp 85°c (90°C°c hotspot) Vram and memory temps are normal (65-70) Before it didnt exceed 67°c (75°c hotspot) at 60% fan speed I reset my bios and my drivers still same issue Is my gpu bricked? Should i try to repaste it?

Hey guys, new member here all the way from india. Looking for your help in expanding my PCs capabilities. So currently I'm running a motherboard msi b450m a pro max with Rtx2060 + R5 3500 + 8*2 16gb ram and ssd hdd setup on my 750W PSU. The cabinet used is ANT eSports iCE 200tg with 5 120mm fans - front and top intake 120mm*4 units + rear exhaust 120mm. And the cpu is using stick wraith cooler with no issues about temps on any component. Ps- attaching the image below , installation of fans is pending, yet to receive product from seller. I'm getting a really good deal on 5700xt at around 700$ new , or 47,000INR. Which is really nice in today's scenario as per availability in my region. I do not wish to let go of this deal knowing as per my PSU capabilities I can very well run an additional 5700xt with my current wattage. The problem comes with the installation, I will need to use risers - 1) 1 16*16 for rx5700 in my Mobo pcie gen 2 16 slot. 2) 1*16 riser to shift the current rtx to one of the empty mounting brackets empty as shown in the image attached. -------------- I use my PC for light gaming - csgo and valorant mainly. Content creation on YouTube as well as some light rendering. What I'm worried about is my Mobo supporting these cards together on the slots it has using the risers mentioned, and whether the case will allow it as there are slots but there will be an inch of space between the two GPUs? I also mine on nicehash when I have no work assigned to my pc, 12-15 hours a day. So I'll be using the 2 cards to generate whatever little revenue I can in my free time too. please help.

gpu Replacement GPU fan sources, (5700XT MSI Evoke OC)
Bumblebeepee posted a topic in Graphics Cards
tl;dr Anyone found a good place to get the correct size fans for specific graphic cards? Ive got a AMD 5700XT MSI Evoke OC, one of the fans has started intermittently buzzing at high speeds. now I'd rather not send a GPU out for repair as there'd be no way to use this PC in the meantime, I did reach out to MSI's support who said they couldn't sell the fans on their own, but could sell the entire cooling for the GPU (heat-sink, shroud, fans) But they gave a approx cost of £110 +tax and shipping, (not bad if you needed the entire cooler, but annoying as i only need the fans). So i'm trying to hunt around for a matching compatible fan, or dip into water-cooling as a block from Alphacool is €98 (plus the rest of the water-cooling loop) What's your recommendations?- 2 replies

Current specs: CPU: AMD R7 3700x Mobo: Asus ROG Strix B550-f Gaming (wifi) GPU: MSI RX 5700 XT Gaming X RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3200MHz CL16 SSD: WD Black SN750 1TB PSU: Corsair AX860i Primary Monitor: Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 Secondary Monitor: Acer B346C As the title suggests, I've been getting glitching issues with my (fairly new) 5700 XT on my (not so new) ultrawide secondary monitor (see video for example). I've tried various troubleshooting methods scoured from the interwebs to no avail.. DDU installed latest drivers installed latest bios disabled all the AMD enhancements in the adrenaline software tried using a different input on the graphics card tried using a different input on the monitor tried using a different cable disabling OC on GPU disabling XMP reseating the GPU using 2 separate PCIe cables to power the GPU switching the PCIe slot to gen3 in the bios changing the resolution on the monitor (<-only thing that worked to get rid of the glitching, but I'd rather not torture myself with 1920x1080 on an ultrawide) tried using the ultrawide monitor on a system with a MSI GTX 1070 ti Gaming (no glitching) tried using the ultrawide monitor on a system with a MSI GTX 1660 Armor OC (no glitching) tried using the ultrawide monitor on a system with a MSI R9 280X Gaming (no glitching) tried using a Dell P2417H as the secondary monitor instead (no glitching) using the Cintiq as the only monitor (no glitching) using the ultrawide as the only monitor (glitching present) At the very least it only seems to be visual artifact, but it's quite distracting while doing work. It leads me to believe that the problem lies with the combination of the ultrawide monitor and the 5700 xt. The most similar situation I've found online was someone using an Acer ultrawide monitor as well (different model) but he was able to fix his issue by limiting it to 60Hz (my monitor is locked at 60Hz on 2560x1080). I'd like to think nothing is wrong with my ultrawide monitor as I've tried it on various systems without the glitching present....ALTHOUGH, when I did have it plugged into the 1070 it via DVI, the computer would recognize the monitor but the screen would be black (however, the hdmi/dp ports would work without a problem). I also realize that the 5700 xt family of gpus had a rough past when it came to drivers.. perhaps it's a snowflake issue that never got addressed? I would've returned the GPU by now and got myself a 3080 if the gpu stocks weren't so messed up at the moment. At the same time, if it isn't a problem with the gpu, perhaps my monitor needs an updating? Has anyone had any luck or woes when it came to connecting ultrawide monitors to a 5700 xt? If anyone's got anymore insight on the problem, I'd very much appreciate it. 473745119_5700xt_glitching(1).mp4

Hello, So i have been trying recently to update drivers and everything for my pc since I added a ryzen 3700x. I have been having this problem with adrenalin that crashes with any update after 12.1.1. Like any game I open crashes, overwatch says rendering device lost and red just crashes, so i have to keep going back to that 12.1.1 and miss the optimization. Does anybody know what is going on? I have tried a few of the fixes for this and am afraid maybe my GPU (XFX 5700 XT Thicc II) is the culprit. The temperatures are always good though. However, most of the time, even when idle, radeon desktop app thing reports at least 90% VRAM utilization. If i'm running a game it is always over 100% which is ridiculous. No other game has any issues. I have reinstalled the game. Maybe one of you has had this issue or can point me in the direction of a fix I have not tried. I have tried : Disable Full Screen Optimizations Update Graphics Drivers Closing all programs Delete temp files Power settings

Hi guys I've been using my PowerColor 5700xt Red Dragon for a little over 6 months playing on and off some e-sports titles and Remnant: From the Ashes. However in the 6 months since I've bought this gpu, I've had nothing but problems coming my way Brief explanation on the problems I'm having 1. when doing almost anything (be it playing games or just watching videos), i would sometimes have random blackscreens followed by a restart on my system 2. when playing league of legends, there are times where I've had this issue of the game just showing so many artifacting on screen that it becomes kind of unplayable. 3. anytime i play a unreal engine game, I've always gotten this issue "D3D device being lost" (especially so for Remnant: From the Ashes) Things I have tried to remedy the problem 1. Switching a power supply 2. reverting everything to stock settings(cpu, ram, disabling PBO on my cpu, radeon automatic oc reverting to default) 3. using 2 power cables for my 5700xt instead of 1 daisy chained cable 4. undervolting my gpu 5. disabling freesync and any other settings in radeon control panel 6. reducing my screen resolution to 1080p 7. trying different monitors 8. reinstalling windows 9. re-installing drivers on windows using DDU 10. Sending the gpu back via official distributer here(Ban Leong Technologies Ltd here in Singapore) I'm really at my wits end here knowing that I dropped cash to purchase this card thinking it would be a good replacement for my old gpu but only to have all this issues keeping me from being able to play anything on my computer without having to deal with so much frustration side note: does anyone know what they actually did to my gpu in terms of fixing as I don't quite get what sort of fix they have done. Current system specs: Ryzen 7 3700x Gigabyte x570 Arorus Elite 32GB Gskill Trident Z Neo 3600mhz Enermax Liqfusion 240mm radiator PowerColor 5700xt Red Dragon SuperFlower Leadex III 650w psu 250GB transcend nvme SSD 4tb Seagate HDD

This is a follow up thread to: tl;dr My 5700 XT was performing really badly, usually way worse than my cheap 1060 3GB in pretty much all applications. That's why the GPU was lying in a box for half the time. xZ81W3e9BC.mp4 (the most extreme example. 5700 XT on the left, 1060 3GB on the right) I have tried everything, DDUs, system formats, recommended drivers, beta drivers, etc. I've tried to perform a RMA, but it got denied because apparently the test results were OK after a firmware update, but it didn't fix the performance issues. Now I've tried to perform a rękojmia which is a Polish type of warranty which should be more forceful. I received the results today: :^) I'm out of ideas and I don't know what to do now, please help me.

Hey Everyone, I wound up getting a pre-built PC Cyberpower with an AMD 3700X CPU, Gigabyte B550 AC MOBO, and an AMD Challenger 5700XT. The good thing is there is plenty of room for me to upgrade in the future, however, the question I have is regarding the temperatures of the Challenger 5700XT. From what I have read on Reddit, it seems the Challenger cards will typically run hotter than the other 5700XT cards. I was playing COD Cold War Zombies earlier with the AMD Software Metrics on the second monitor. When the game was really busy, I was seeing high 80's to a max of 94 C in temperature. Before playing the game, I had Undervolted the GPU through the AMD Software as it seems a lot of the people were having to to do the same thing on the same PC as me. I had wanted to see if anyone else has this particular card and if so, have you undervolted? What kind of temperatures are you seeing? What is considered normal for the temperature of this particular GPU? I can swap out parts, but when it comes to the software end of things, thats where Im still new to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have included a screenshot of what the default fan curve out of box is and what the settings of the undervolting I had done are. Kindest Regards,
