so I have a 5700 XT from PowerColor that kept crashing in game, but weirdly enough if I use the old 2019 driver (19.7.5) I never experienced a single crash why is that? I've tried all other drivers that's newer than the one I'm currently using (ADRENALIN 19.7.5) it all resulted in a crash. I've tried swapping CPUs, Motherboards, SSDs, RAM sticks, PSUs, I also tried another GPU on all my config it all performs normally except the one with 5700 XT (with driver newer than 19.7.5). And even in the old driver I have to lower the memory clock to max 600MHz otherwise it will crash in game. Is there any way to lower the memory clock below the limit on the newer driver which is around 1500MHz to atleast 600MHz? which from my investigation it seems the memory clock is at fault. I would appreciate any kind of help regarding my trouble here. Thank you.

CPU: R5 3600xt GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700xt Mobo: Gigabyte B450 AORUS Elite rev 1.0 PSU: Corsair RM850x (850W 80+ gold) RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 3600mhz CL 16 GPU Driver versions: was using 21.11.3, currently using 21.10.2 OS: Windows 10 pro 64bit Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044 BIOS version: F61 (@bios will not let me update) So ever since I built my computer (almost a year ago) I have had issues with driver timeouts. I have done everything. It will not go away. RMA'd my GPU 3 times to no avail. Reinstalled windows. Did the whole DDU shenanigans multiple times. Disabled XMP. Pretty sure it is not my power supply since I ran furmark and cinebench to draw a lot of power at once and it did not crash. (maybe that is not a definitive answer for psu stability) I feel like I am losing my mind, and it just got worse. Out of nowhere my drivers started to act up and timeout a bunch of times before AMD crash defender enables GPU driver safe mode. This started happening little by little until now as soon as I get into windows it immediately times out. I can't use my computer until the drivers enter safe mode. And yes I did try reinstalling my drivers, 2 times with DDU and AMD driver cleanup. Windows does not install drivers automatically since I disabled that. My options are: - my motherboard is defective - GPU is defective (somehow) - maybe my PSU is defective? - maybe everything is defective I am losing my mind.

Im building a new pc and was wondering which one is better.

Hi! I'm choosing between graphics cards for a Gaming PC build, but I'm stuck between two options, and I wasn't sure which one is the better pick. Option 1: EVGA XC RTX 3060 Ti Option 2: Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 5700 XT Originally, I jumped at the chance to get the 3060 Ti, but I looked at the Core Clocks and became skeptical. The Core Clock for the 3060 Ti is 1410 MHz (with a boost clock of 1710 MHz) and the Core Clock for the 5700 XT is 1650 MHz (with a boost clock of 1905 MHz) I want these parts to last for as long as they can, so that's another factor as well. The other important parts in my build are: - Ryzen 5 3600 CPU - 2 x 8GB DDR4-3200 RAM Thanks!

So I was updating the drivers on my 5700 XT and my pc crashed during the process and now I'm unable to do anything on it, I'm not exactly sure how to approach this. If anyone could help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. OS: Windows 10 64 bit CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: XFX RX 5700 XT Motherboard: Aorus Elite b450 RAM: G Series Ripjaws V Series 16GB

This is a follow up thread to: tl;dr My 5700 XT was performing really badly, usually way worse than my cheap 1060 3GB in pretty much all applications. That's why the GPU was lying in a box for half the time. xZ81W3e9BC.mp4 (the most extreme example. 5700 XT on the left, 1060 3GB on the right) I have tried everything, DDUs, system formats, recommended drivers, beta drivers, etc. I've tried to perform a RMA, but it got denied because apparently the test results were OK after a firmware update, but it didn't fix the performance issues. Now I've tried to perform a rękojmia which is a Polish type of warranty which should be more forceful. I received the results today: :^) I'm out of ideas and I don't know what to do now, please help me.

Good day everyone, A month ago I built myself a new PC with an "AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB" gpu and since yesterday, out of sudden, the VRAM hits between 90-100% when I play a game on high settings and around 70% at low settings. Before this the games used 50-60% vram on high settings. One thing what I noticed is that it started having this behavior after a crash when playing CoD MW (battle royale mode). I am sure that I'm not crazy or delusional. A friend of mine has basically the same GPU and he can (still) play RDR II with the exact same settings I have, while his vram hits up to 60-70%. I have the "Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Pulse" while he has the "MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming X". Another weird thing that happened is when I opened Radeon software and looked at "performances" the Junction temp. said 775°C (1048.15k). Things I've tried so far: - Used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to delete all AMD drivers and reinstall them. - Thought RDR II could be the case, so first I tried something with the files, but when that didn't help I deleted the game and all its files. Did the same with CoD MW. I'm off to bed now, but I will be replying within 12hrs when there are suggestions/replies. Thanks in advance! BTW, these are my specs: mobo: MSI B450 Tomahawk max CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8-core 3.60GHz RAM: DDR4 32GB 3200MHz 970 EVO 1TB M.2

Hello all. I know quite a bit about PC hardware but I'm in a pickle here. My MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB GAMING X, bought in December, runs at 83C 1800RPM. This is too high correct? Case: Meshfy C stock with extra Corsair fan. Those are spinning properly. Should I tighten the mounting screws on the back? There is a void warranty sticker but I'm pretty sure it's not applicable here. Without dissasembling the card I'd like to fix this high RPM. https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/msi-radeon-rx-5700-xt-gaming-x-review,11.html

Hi i'm currently upgrading my setup and i have money tied up in old hardware that i need to sell for more upgrades ect. I'll be buying a 5700 XT soon but keeping my old 1080p monitors for a while. They have DVI-D outputs only. Is there anything i need to worry about compatibility wise or can i simply buy a cable and have no issues. This is only a temporary solution. Thanks

Hello, I recently purchased a PC from ibuypower when they were having a flash sale on Ryzen 3 and 5700 series cards, full specs are listed below. I have watched both Linus's and Steve's (GamersNexus) videos about their experiences with pre-built systems from sites like ibuypower and some of the issues they had such as: -Case fans plugged into the wrong headers of the MOBO -Incorrectly configured RAM speeds inside of BIOS What are some other things I should be aware of and check on before settling in with it? i have a 550W PSU and I'm looking to upgrade my GPU quite soon. I'm pretty sure you can see my specs, I'm thinking of upgrading to a 5700 XT. Would I need a better power supply if I were to get something like the three fan red devil one? Also next year I'm thinking of getting whatever the Zen3 equivalent of a 3700/3800 is, would 550W be enough? Also how much does ram effect wattage because I was thinking of getting 32gb 3400 or something similar at some point

I'm doing a new build for a friend and everything was great until I went to install the display drivers for the 5700xt. I've tried different versions of the driver but each time, it makes the monitor go into an "entering power save mode" loop. Any ideas? I'm lost

A review was published "by accident" by a Polish site called Benchmark.pl. The review was conducted with early drivers and apparently, these drivers also don't support overclocking. Therefore, the results may not correspond to the final performance. Nonetheless, behind the Spoiler tags lies the results; benchmarking in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry 5, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, 3DMark Time Spy and 3DMark Fire Strike. Last graph is Full System Power Consumption with an i9-9900k, and it looks like Power Consumption is relatively decent when compared to the RTX 2070. Lastly, the RX 5700 looks like it will be a great price to performance offering. Source: https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt-and-rx-5700-review-leaks-out

Anyone else experiencing issues with the Adrenalin 19.7.1 drivers and the 5700 XT? I just got the 5700XT and the Ryzen 3700X today (ASRock X470 Gaming 7 MB). Installed Windows 10 Pro x64 on it, and then went to install graphics drivers (Adrenaline 7/7 release). The first time around, the computer crashed halfway through the install and became unstable after each reboot. I did a clean install of Win10. Without the drivers, the system ran just fine. But as soon as I went to install the graphics drivers, I had issues again. This time the install finished all the way through, but within minutes of the install, the system became unstable again. Each time before the instability leads to a crash, I notice super buggy sound. Currently I'm connected to my screen with a DP cable and sounds coming out of my monitor. I've also noticed some artifacting at times before the crash. All of this makes me think the problem is definitely with the adrenalin drivers. Thoughts/Suggestions? Thanks! (I've also tried installing via the auto-detect method. Have tried both custom and express install)

Every time I try folding on my 5700 XT I seem to get results way lower than what I find online. Compute 1 only shows 60% utilization and the average PPD from it says it's only doing roughly 345K. Whereas my 2060 KO (not shown in attached image) is doing ~860K PPD. The GPU PPD Database shows I should be getting way more than the 2060 KO yet I'm not. Do you guys have any ideas as to why? I'm running Radeon Drivers 20.1.3 (although it's been doing this on multiple versions going all the way back to 19.7.5). Restarting does not appear to change anything. Running Windows 10 Pro 1909 EDIT: Seems like pausing CPU Folding on my 2700X makes Compute 1 jump up to 90% which gives around 670K PPD. Should it be giving more than that? F@H GPU Database states the average is 1.4 Mill but that seems a like too big of a gap

Reaching out to my tech nerd friends on the forum here to figure out what I should go with. Everytime I upgrade my own rig, I struggle with what to go with. I could go deep end and just get the best of the best, but at the same time I always fall back on the fact I don't really play anything too graphically crazy. I was hoping I could get some opinions on what GPU to upgrade to. Some background is that I have a Ryzen 7 1700 and GTX 1070 in my current rig. I will be upgrading to a Ryzen 3900x coupled with a decent 3600Mhz RAM kit. I want to upgrade to 1440p at 144hz from my 1080p 160hz monitor, with adaptive sync of the correlating type. I tend to run my settings as high as I can without sacrificing too much frame rate (staying above 120 FPS in the 99th percentile). The question becomes, what graphics card should I go with? The 5700 XT looks like a strong contender, but when comparing it to something like a 2080 Super, it seems like the extra $300 will let me really crank some settings and still hit my 120+ FPS targets (despite performance per $ dropping sharply). I might just be psyching myself out though, thus why I came for opinions. The games I'm looking to build for and regularly circulate around are Apex Legends, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six: Seige. Anything else I play generally falls behind these three in graphical intensity (such as Final Fantasy XIV or the upcoming World of Warcraft Classic), and I don't play too many single player AAA's. Other games I play, like ARK: Survival Evolved, I just take what I can get because I only tend to play with my fiancé. Thanks for the help and welcome opinions all! Edit: Forgot to add that one of my primary reasons for upgrading is so that I can part out my current rig to upgrade the fiancé's aging 4690k/R9 280x rig.

Hey, my specs are: Asus strix x570-E motherboard. Ryzen 7 3700x Asus strix 5700 XT 32gb g.skill trident z neo @3600mhz adata sx6000 lite (thats where csgo is stored) 250gig samsung ssd 1tb toshiba hdd I have a big problem with csgo. The fps fluctuates beetween 400- 60 and makes the game unplayable. My msi afterburner shows that i have 350 fps uncabbed, but my monitor's software shows that the fps fluctuates beetween 144-60 and it really feels like ass. I have full hd 144hz freesync monitor. I have tried so many things. Tried to uncap fps. Did not work. Tied to cap fps @144hz did not work. Tried to enable disable freesync, did not work Messed with radeon anti-lag, radeon image sharpening and radeon chill. Did not work Sometimes i am able to play whitout stutter, but thats rare since the stutter suddenly comes back. Temps are fine.

I recently upgraded my GPU to a 5700 XT and am thinking of upgrading my monitor. Currently I mainly play Astroneer, Subnautica Below Zero, Cold Waters, World of Warships, and a few others. My main question is should I bump up to 1440P or stick with high refresh 1080p? I have an older 1080 now and would like to keep it for a second monitor. Thanks for the help!

Hi guys. Newbie here to the forums. Yay! Actually I've been here a while but I've mostly been lurking ? So I'm planning on putting together a mid to high end gaming/streaming PC, with either a 3700X or 3900X for my processor. Still trying to decide which way to go, but the rationale for the 3900X is I run multiple android emulators and that combined with streaming is quite heavy on the cpu and I think the extra cores will be beneficial. I think I've decided on more or less everything else, but I'm really having trouble deciding on which graphics card to buy ?? So from local vendor (I live in South Africa) has the Red Devil 5700XT for around 570 USD, the Sapphire 5700XT Nitro+ at 610 USD, the Palit 2070 Super (Jetstream) at 630 USD. I was initially thinking of going the custom pcb 2070 super route, but I've read that those don't really offer much performance improvement if I'm not going to custom cool my card to really boost performance, so I'm not so sure now. On the higher end, the Aorus 2070 super is 820 USD, and then there's a Palit 2080 Super GameRock Premium for 855 USD. Airflow won't be a problem at all because I'm thinking of going with the O11 Dynamic with 6 or 7 intake fans. Also, I'll probably get a high refresh rate 1080p or 1440p monitor. What would you guys suggest? Red Devil, Sapphire, Palit Jetstream? Or a higher end 2070 super like the Aorus or the Strix? Or the low end 2080 super from Palit? Or if going with a 2080 super, should I just shell out some extra cash and get a card with a better pcb/cooling? Is a 2080 super just overkill for 1080p/1440p gaming? The current gpu market is great, but that also means it's suuuuuper difficult to make a decision, especially for a newbie to pc building like me. I know my question encompasses quite a large price range, but if I have to shell out some more cash for the gpu I suppose I could live with that. Any help would be much appreciated ? Thanks a million times over in advance. My brain doesn't know how to do this. In case you need other specs, this is what I'm thinking of so far: CPU: 3900X/3700X GPU: Heeeeelp me my brain is deeeeeaaaad CPU cooler: Corsair 150i Pro 360mm Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII (x570) WiFi edition RAM: 64GB G-Skill Trident Z Royal 3600Mhz Cl19 (I was going with looks over performance here, tbh) Storage: 2TB Corsair MP600 PCIe gen4.0 SSD; 8TB Seagate Barracuda HDD PSU: Corsair Hx850i (or perhaps the 750i) Case: Lian-Li O11 Dynamic with 6-7 extra intake fans (Corsair LL120 or ML120 RBG) 3 on bottom and 3 on side maybe 1 on back still tbd Main use would be some AAA titles, definitely lots of android VMs probably many at a time, for heavy android gaming while streaming. Perhaps some coding work as well if time allows for it. Hoping to pick up a few more languages eventually, and android/iOS emulators for coding are relatively heavy as well. Basically I'm aiming to have a PC I can use for years, with a possible GPU change in a couple of years. Only other upgrades will be adding more storage down the line when I need it. Sorry for the super long post. Thanks again in advance, and every piece of advice is extremely appreciated.

So I completed my build today and I'm facing a ridiculous problem. Whenever I restart my PC from BIOS Setup or Windows it doesn't POST anything. Sometimes it boots but doesn't POST (I guessed it by watching ram's rgb profile changed which I made). But if I completely shut it down and after a few seconds turn it on, it posts and boots perfectly. And all the components just works fine. I ran some games and didn't notice any problems. It's not a ram problem I am sure. I tested both rams individually and both of them were working perfectly. But none of them were able to reboot my pc. So I guess the problem is somewhere else. I also reset BIOS using the button. It didn't help either.PLEASE HELP,My rig:Mobo: MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGECpu: RYZEN 7 3700XRam: G. Hey guys, I'll be brief with this one - my vertical GPU bracket causes weird errors, sometimes my PC gets stucked in infinite boot loop, other times it boots for a moment, blank screen and immediately powers down. If it goes into Windows after a few seconds I get a Bsod (no pics, it's pointless because message is different each time). Specs: Bracket: Phanteks PH-VGPUKT_02 – Universal Vertical GPU Bracket Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro GPU: Sapphire RX 5700 XT Nitro+ Display: Aorus AD27QD BIOS: latest F10C Windows: latest 1903 (Win10) I'm sure it's this brackets fault. No matter if I use DP or HDMI. My rig works flawlessly without it. However, it does work no problem with same GPU and my old Z97-HD3. The riser cable is rather close to MOBO. I've read somewhere that it could be cable shielding issues. Is it possible to DIY shield a cable? Any ideas how to get this set up to work? I need my aesthetics. Thanks for your time.

I watched the Black Friday online shopping live stream last night and I had a question. Linus went with a 2070 Super for around 500 over a 5700 XT. I didn't understand the reasoning behind it. The Asus Strix 5700 XT is going for 449 on Newegg, before a 15 dollar rebate. It has both a higher core and boost clock then the MSI 2070 Super he went with. Looking at the the benchmarks I've seen on Youtube, the performance seems comparable. But Linus made mention that for some reason, the 5700 XT couldn't handle the demand of simultaneous streaming and VR game play. At least, not to the degree a 2070 Super could. So my question is, how does a 2070 Super with lower core clock and boost speeds have improved performance over something like the Strix 5700 XT. I'm considering putting together my first PC build, and the decision Linus made really had me scratching my head.

As the title says, i just tried this out and i immediately dropped 5 to 8 full degrees in applications at the same fan speed without a drop in frames. Seriously, I was playing Borderlands 3 at around 150 FPS before at around 66 degrees C, now running at the same fps but at 59 degrees (both are NOT junction temp although that is also lower). Fan curve seems to be unchanged but since it doesn't get as hot, it runs at a lower speed. TL:DR I should have tried this earlier. Is anyone else getting these results? GPU: POWERCOLOR AXRX 5700 XT
