Hey, My current GPU Have had a temp problem for a long while. It has been a spare GPU in case i sell my currents etc. But the temps are ridiculous. it reads 75+ at idle and 99-100 ingame. I have ruled out the cooler. Been cleaned and ive even tried an AIO. The coler/thermal paste is NOT the reason for the high temps No airflow issues or anything. so it is the temp that is reading wrong. However I've tried NiBiTor to edit the bios in an attemt to higher the throtteling values but everything but "min" "max" fan speed is grayed out. Is there another way? When it hits 100C it often automatically goes into freakout 100% fan mode. If it makes a differance I'ts an Asus DCUII. I have tried multiple bioses from Video BIOS Collection in NiBiTor with the same results.

So, I know this is a really old card, but I got a pretty decent system by scrounging around the internet. A friend gave me the card for free, and today when I booted up Beamng.drive, it ran for about 2 minutes before blacking out(I assume it thermal throttled or something like that). I restarted my pc and seemed to be fine, until I started Beamng up again. The 560ti blacked out again, and my pc no longer recognizes the card whatsoever. Any thoughts or should I just move on already? Btw, the system is an Intel Xeon quad-core @3.30 ghz, 32gb of ddr3, supermicro server board of some sort, an 850w power supply(fully modular, don't remember brand off the top of my head), an old 256gb ssd I had sitting around and 2 Seagate 3tb hard drives(7500rpm). Grand total on this baby: a whopping $0.00

I've had an old 560ti for a while now and don't need it as I have a better card. I don't know whether I should try to sell the card as it is very old and not popular or what.

I have a Geforce GTX 970 card and I was wondering if I could use my old Geforce GTX 560 TI as a physx card or just let the 970 do both. Because the 970 is a gen 3.0 and the 560 TI is a gen 2.0. Will the performance drop if I put a gen 2.0 with a gen 3.0. Don't know if I should give the rest of my specs or not will that effect any change in this case.

I was running some tests on heaven benchmark and noticed I was getting frametimes like this: Those are some mighty stuttery frame times. Granted it's Heaven Extreme and I'm managing only 20 fps. But the one thing that concerned me is that my VRAM utilization never went over 977MB. You can see that in the full screenshot. However GPU-Z says the card is a 2GB SKU. I tested other programs (Witcher 3, Wargame: Red Dragon) and neither went over 1GB utilization either. Why might this be? Edit: I'm on driver version 362.00 (ignore the 950mv i was testing for stability while undervolted)

The graphics card has started artifacting and freezing (pretty much) every time I play a game: the temps never go above even 60 before it starts to artifact and eventually my PC freezes. I thought it was the memory cores not getting enough heat dissipation so I took apart the GPU, applied new thermal paste (obviously after wiping the old thermal paste off) and straightened the thermal tape over the little cores. No avail Is my GPU dying, is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks.

I'm looking to piece together a budget gaming build from old components, so far I have: 500w power supply a hard drive GTX 560ti I'm looking for a motherboard and a CPU with the aim of playing modern games, luckily I'm not fussed about performance. What's the cheapest I can go processor and motherboard wise which will work with my 560ti and hopefully not bottleneck it too much? I'm considering picking something up on Ebay but I'm not sure what to get.

hello everybody! do you think it ts worth to re-use an old amd phenom II x4 965 BE for a mid-range gaming/everyday pc? I have already a gaming pc but I use it plugged to the tv and I play from the couch, that's a high-end. I would like sometimes to play those games who require mouse and keyboard, not the newest games. The gpu is a gtx 560 ti, I played AC4 Black Flag at max settings with it. I'm not sure about the motherboard, if to keep using the Sapphire IPC-AM3DD785G is ok or better upgrade. I do not have that video card at the moment to test if this could work, and the MB+CPU are now used by my home server (i'm planning to dismount it anyway). Final conf. MB: Sapphire IPC-AM3DD785G CPU: Amd phenom II x4 965 BE RAM: I've got both vengeance and hyperx, 1333 and 1600 but the MB only support 1333. GPU: gainward gtx 560 ti. SSD: samsung 850 evo I'd only play games like skyrim, cities skyline, the sims 4. Do you think this configuration is good already or better upgrade something like the MB? (except for the ssd and gpu, this is the server conf. and 5 machines run smooth together.. so yeah I guess it is good but better to ask) Thanks everyone!!

Title says it all. This is for my old computer that I now let friends use when they are over. My dad got a pair of 6790's that would have been otherwise thrown away. Which of those will perform better? the 1 GTX 560 Ti or the pair of 6790's from Sapphire in crossfire?

Hi guys, So first of all I'm not a total noob. I am working as a PC technician and have a publishing background (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign). Recently I started learning premiere pro and since I was so used to other Adboe CC program's it was really easy to learn the basics. I have however problems with the performance when applying the warp effect to reduce motion in a clip. The source video files are coming from a Sony MC2000e and are in 1080p/25frames. I have GPU acceleration on in the project settings but when I am playing back a clip that had the effect applied it is really stuttering and not smooth at all. I also noticed that is uses 100percent CPU when playing such a clip back. My questions: Should it not be offloaded to my GPU wich is cuda capable ? Is my CPU really that slow that it can't even play it back ? Are there any mods/settings I should apply/change to get this to work ? If the answer is that I have to upgrade... Should I first get a new CPU + mobo or just a GPU (Quadro ?) My config: Intel Core i7 920 @stock for the moment 16 GB 1887Mhz Corsair Vengeance ram cl9 Asus Sabertooth x58 Nvidia Geforce GTX 560Ti (not the 448) 1GB Corsair VS550 PSU (not that it matters) and Noctua NH-D14 cooler.

Hey! I finally got some money to replace my trusty old 955BE so, I got an Asus Z97-A and a 4690k coming up, but...I'm still stuck with my (overheating)560Ti... I'm wondering what card would be most suitable for 1080p 60+/~60 FPS gaming without going overkill for my use? Cheaper cards like 760, R9 270X and R9 280 or more expensive ones like 770 and 780? When Nvidia released the new 900 series cards I immediately thought I'm definitely getting a 970, but I actually put more thought to it and realized that it might be a bit overkill for me and not worth the extra money/wait. You can never have too much power/FPS but I'm still not sure if it's worth it. I play with a 24" 60hz 1080p monitor and I use a second 19" for other stuff like Spotify, Twitch streams, Youtube etc. I play FPS's, MMO's, RPG's, stuff. Games like Garry's mod, Minecraft, Red Orchestra 2, Insurgency, Guild Wars 2, Skyrim(modded), all kinds of indies, and I'm looking forward to GTA V and The Witcher 3. I'm not a huge "ultra amazing grafix 4k 144 fps" guy. I do like nice graphics of course, but I don't mind turning down some settings/effects a bit for better FPS, and 1080p is all I need right now. Also, is a Corsair 600w PSU fine for one of those cheaper cards? So, I could get a ~200€ card pretty soon or for Christmas at least, or save/wait until summer and POSSIBLY get e.g a 970(currently ~400€) if I get a summer job or something.

Hey guys, This is my first proper post, so bear with me, I’m having a bit of trouble as to what to upgrade my system/s to, basically I have two systems currently and I’m looking to combine the two to make one single large powerful tower with everything I need on it. One is used for gaming and one is used for just work. I’m a Computing BSc soon to be second year Uni student so I don’t have a whole lot of money at the moment but the computers are getting old and annoying at times, I’m trying to find the best time to sell and buy components. I’m looking to spend £300-450 and preferably go Intel if you guys think it’s worth it. My current specs are Gaming Rig Fractal Design Define R3 AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2Ghz Hex Core Some old ASUS Motherboard with SATAII MSI 560ti Twin Forzer II 1GB 8GB Corsair Vengeance SATA II Intel 80GB SSD (Boot drive) 1TB HDD (Game storage) 250GB HDD (Video editing and downloads drive) OCZ 500W PSU Work Rig Fractal Core 1000 AMD FX4100 3.6Ghz Quad Core Some old MATX Gigabyte Motherboard with SATAII Corsiar XMS 3 4x2GB (8GB) 60Gb Crucial SSD (boot) 500GB HDD (files, Ubuntu boot) GeForce 9500T (don’t care about graphics here, still better than the onboard from gigabyte) Corsair Builder Series 450W PSU I think I have basically backed myself into a corner as the motherboards are SATAII therefore SSD performance is pretty bad, but then I’m sure the AM3+ socket is being ditched so there is no point spending money on getting another motherboard with AM3+. I understand the 1090T is still pretty good compared to the FX6xxx series so is it worth sticking with the old 1090T for the time being or just over to Intel now? But then my graphics card is obviously 2 gen’s behind now and in games like ARMA3 the performance isn’t amazing, I run 2 1080p IPS 24” AOC monitors, but use just the one for gaming. If I were to upgrade my graphics card I refuse to go AMD GPU. What I would like to upgrade my gaming system (to be used for everything from now on) to is: Intel 4770k or 4790k and overclock H80i Asus ROG z97 Samsung EVO 120/256GB SSD And then I would ditch the work system, use the gaming system for everything after the upgrade, I would keep the R3, PSU, RAM, HDD’s and Graphics card from the gaming system and upgrade GPU when the new Maxwell’s come out. I reckon would be able to sell all the unused parts for about £250-300, does this seem about right? Any help would be appreciated, cheers!

CPU:AMD Phenom 965BE @3.4Ghz 10Gb DDR3 Ram 1333mhz 300gb Intel DC S3500 Series (boot drive) 2TB HDD 5900rpm , 1TB HDD 7200rpm, 500gb HDD 7200rpm. MOBO MSI 970a-g46 GFX: MSI Twin Frozr 560 ti PSU: Corsair Cx 750m Will it be worth it to replace my current 560ti for a r9 270x ? OR should I get another 560ti and have them in SLI ? The thing is that may find or I may not find another same card (I get mine for $100 usd) and this r9 270 will cost me about $170. My other option would be just spent about $100-$110 and get a h100i as water cooling solution for my cpu , right now I have a hyper 212+ in push-pull setup with 40-60 deg. in idle (its summer where I live and its pretty hot. ) consider that I also own 2 SP120 corsair fans. Let me know what you think. Thank You.

I currently have one MSI 560ti and have had this for a while now, a boost in performance would be nice for some current games and upcoming games to make it last a bit longer. So I either have the option to buy another 560ti and go with SLI or get an Antec 620 and do the mod to my current one, hoping then to be able to overclock slightly more. Both will cost approximately the same amount and I would assume that the SLI option would result in more performance. Do you have any opinions on which option I should go for? Thanks

Hey guys! So I had this setup: (560ti) 1080p Primary monitor 1680x1050 secondary monitor I also had displayfusion Now I want to have only the 1050p monitor (not the 1080). But when I try to boot to windows 7 x64 it shows BSOD (blue screen of death) and restarts. I tried x100 times to boot, also tried repairing the system like 5-10 times with the windows tool thingy but it just won't do anything but bsod after the "starting windows". Luckilly I had a windows 7x86 installation in my system too (thank god). I hadn't installed any graphics card drivers there and it was a mess but when I installed the gpu it worked just fine. I have used a ton of software to see if my hardware has any problems but it doesn't. I know if I format and reinstall windows it will be fine (propably buy windows 8.1 if thats the case) but I really need that installation to run. I have tried deleting the gpu drivers too by deleting the C:\NVIDIA folder. Sorry for long post but thanks for responding (any help is appreciated)

Hi guys. I posted a topic earlier about whether or not to upgrade my gpu at this current time. And i was given a link to a 7870, which obviously intrigued me, I went to the link and it's selling for £130, compared to the normal £204, I know that that's extremely cheap for the card but would the upgrade to the 7870 be worth it? Thats my main question, would it be a noticeable difference to my 560ti? Thanks!

Hey guys first time posting on the Linus forums, I heard everyone is nicer here then on toms hardware so I thought I'd give it a go haha. Anyways I recently upgraded my rig to the new 280x, expecting that I could max any game at 1080p. Unfortunately that's not what I've been experiencing, I get like a 5 fps difference with this then with my old 560ti and benchmarks I've seen around on the internet suggest that shouldn't be happening... I'm running: -Core i7 920 OC to 3.8ghz -6gb ddr3 ram @ 1066mhz -An average 1TB hardrive that has been showing its age -and the new MSI 280x Even though my processor and ram is kinda old and outdated it's not bad, could there be a bottleneck? Also due to my old and prety cramped Antec 900 case I had to mount my gpu right next to the power supply, and my temps are pretty hot, hotter then how my 560ti was. It idles around 40 degrees C and I just did furmark and I stopped runnign it once my GPU got to 92 degrees but It looked like it would still climb, is it limiting it's clock because of that? Thanks for your folks time Also sorry for the gray highlights, I copied and pasted this from my tomshardware thread and for some reason it brought along that

Hi all, this is my current spec pc and would like some advice on upgrading my cpu or gpu. : 12Gb DDR3 1333Mhz, Foxconn H55M-S motherboard Intel Core i5 760 quad core (2.8ghz) GIGABYTE GTX 560Ti i can only really afford one or the other in this situation, but should i: Upgrade my CPU to a newer gen i5 Upgrade my GPU to a 7970 any help would be appreciated :-)

Hi, I was just wondering if I would be able to sli a Gainward GTX 560ti phantom (1Gb) with a Gainward GTX 560ti (1gb) golden sample edition? My computer would be able to accommodate it and I am mostly sure I would be able to sli them but do not want to make any commitments to it in case this is not possible to do so, Cheers.

Hello guys, so the short version of the story is that my parents are separated and 2 years ago I built a gaming PC at my mothers house. My dad is actually quite up to date in the whole PC-thingy and so we discussed it and decided not to get a next gen console, instead we are going to upgrade our PC at his house. At my mothers I have a ASUS GTX 560ti 900Mhz factory overclocked and it suits my gaming needs perfectly. Currently at my dads we have the Xbox 360 for gaming and an oldish computer for everything else. That computer currently has a GTX 220 (Haha yeah that card is probably older than my little brother) but it has a pretty decent CPU (Think it is a 2nd gen i5). We have decided since long that we are going to get a(n?) Nvidia card, should we go for a 650ti or a 660? Maybe something else? TL;DR Gonna upgrade my second computer to gaming grade instead of getting a Xbone or Ps4, my first computer has a 560ti and suits me fine. Should I get a GTX 660 or 650ti for the upgrade? Please come with suggestions if neither. /Thanks Daban ::CLOSE THIS THREAD, I FOUND THE RIGHT PART OF THE FORUMS FOR IT::

Well i'm getting a new graphics card, and i wanted to get a gtx 770 running along side my 560ti. will this work? Also i have a 750watt power supply, so i don't know if that is enough power either. Could i use the 560ti as a PhysX card? But can i use the 560ti to "help" the gtx 770 with everything and not JUST PhysX? I'm a noob at this stuff.

So, I was recently thinking of getting a new graphics card, the GTX 770 in particular, and I was wondering what I could do with my older 560 ti, rather than selling it or giving it away. I've heard you can dedicate it to PhysX rendering, and obviously you can't run them in SLI, because they're completely different cards. Thanks in advance, MickJuice

Okay, preface: This is not my primary system. I keep this system around because it was my first complete build albeit heavily upgraded along the way before going all-out on something new. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/1176716? Last recorded 3DMark score. Old beta drivers. All framerates are at my native monitor resolution of 1920x1200 for this system. Unigine Heaven 4.0 Max settings: 24avg, 51max, 12min, 595score & w/no-AA: 32avg, 71max, 15min, 803score. Sleeping Dogs w/HD Textures @ max settings except AA-Normal: 58avg, 69max, 42min & w/AA-max: 32avg, 45max, 18min. Tomb Raider @ max settings, no-TressFX, no-Motion Blur, no-DoF, no-AA: 70avg, 93max, 49min & w/FXAA: 5fps reduction overall & w/x4SSAA: Halved FPS overall. (side note here: Motion Blur and DoF are film inspired effects with no baring on how things are seen in real life; they are caused by shutter speed and focus of the camera. I also dislike lens flares and sun spots for the same reason; it's how a camera lens causes the image to be seen. Now I am aware eyes focus on objects too blurring surroundings as well, but glancing around the screen without moving the mouse to focus on something is annoying with DoF effects.) I may update this list with more samples in the future, everyone with a 560ti or 560ti-448 or any sort of SLI configuration is welcome to share their benchmarks as well. I'ld like to see if we can establish a baseline here so these decent cards don't get so much flack any more from anyone. Immediate comparisons from surface investigations suggest mine is about the same performance in general to a GTX760. However, that's accounting for different resolutions and alternate settings. I'll investigate that further in the future as well, not enough time as of this posting. Edit for full benchmark sweep of my EVGA GTX560ti-448 Ultra Classified below this line. If you need the absolute closest thing to proof I can provide for these benchmarks, here is a link to a .zip containing all benchmark logs and applicable screenshots: http://www.mediafire.com/download/9c1v6uaod3pft61/Benchmarks.zip You are of course advised to always scan any .zip files for viruses with any available software. Just because I didn't put a virus in it, doesn't mean a snooper can't put one in as you download. Always scan downloads. For those willing to trust a C&P from the benchmarking log, all games maxed and at 1920x1200 except where noted otherwise: 2014-01-22 00:59:27 - MetroLL (Metro Last Light: SSAA-off) Frames: 2900 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 48.333 - Min: 36 - Max: 61 2014-01-22 01:20:41 - farcry3_d3d11 (Far Cry 3: MSAA-off, FXAA-off) Frames: 2215 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 36.917 - Min: 16 - Max: 53 2014-01-22 01:30:27 - HKShip (Sleeping Dogs: AA-normal) Frames: 3590 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 59.833 - Min: 54 - Max: 65 2014-01-22 01:33:47 - TombRaider (Tomb Raider: MSAA-off, FXAA-off) Frames: 4010 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 66.833 - Min: 48 - Max: 90 2014-01-22 01:39:10 - witcher2 (Witcher 2: All DoF-off, Vignette-off, Motion Blur-off, UberSampling-off) Frames: 3259 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 54.317 - Min: 1 - Max: 64 2014-01-22 01:49:31 - trine2_32bit (Trine 2) Frames: 3052 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 50.867 - Min: 38 - Max: 60 2014-01-22 01:59:19 - HMA (Hitman Absolution: MSAA-off, FXAA-off, DoF-off, Bloom-off) Frames: 2000 - Time: 54304ms - Avg: 36.830 - Min: 30 - Max: 49 Bare in mind, I do find some benchmarking done by professionals to be unrepresentative of real-world application. While in most of my samples, I've disabled AA where needed to get playable framerates; I really don't notice 'jaggies' at a glance unless I am actively looking for them or it's a high/low contrast such as a dark metal pole against a brightly lit neon sign. For those looking for the highest details without a huge hit to framerates, disabling all forms of AA is ideal.
