Budget (including currency): under 2,5 mil(rupiah) (so maybe 215 canadian dollars) Country: Indonesia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details -CPU AMD FX-8120 79 C Zambez 32nm Technology -RAM 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (11-11-11-28) -Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. 970A-D3 (CPU 1) 33 C -Graphics Nvidia 1060 6gb (broken fan, currently using my back up one whic is nvidia 550) -Storage 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-60ZF5A0 ATA Device (Still waiting a 2tb barracuda, still in shipping) -PSU corsair CX7 750m hi guys, I'm new in this forum but been a LTT's subscirber for 5-6 years now. (So, hdwyd, fellas) My friend build this rig 10 years ago with upgradability in mind, but only managed to upgrade the PSU (from corsair vs550 to cx7 750), GPU (from 550 to 1060 6gb) also HDD (sata 1 tb to 2 tb -because i broke the connector ) Now i kinda want to upgrade something from it and i definitely want to keep my 1060, SATA and psu. So i want to know what my options regarding my motherboard and cpu, what choice do i have that still compatible with my gpu and RAM? I know they're old, DDR 3, but still kinda want to keep them....but if not, it's fine too, I'll try to upgrade them later on. And i kinda want to keep the CPU too because i think it still work pretty well, but i still want to know my options Another reason for changing my Motherboard is because my house got strike by lightning a few years ago (and my house actually have that lightning-trap-thing to redirect a lightning strike to ground which suddenly didn't work), and it kinda broke my motherboard (the ethernet-port part). But it fixed now (sometimes not.... sometimes it loose connection-the yellow-green light turn off, then turn on again), just that, i think there's another part of the motherboard that broke too (not sure what) In conclusion, need recommendations for the motherboard and CPU (maybe also RAM) that still able to work with my 1060 and ddr3 (my personal upgrade priority are 1.motherboard 2.CPU 3.Ram If i can upgrade all of them, great, if not, I'm good with upgrading my motherboard first). I'm not a power user, my current main-video game is dota 2, also I'm interested in playing older video games (campaign mode, like crysis, modern warfare, assassin's creed black flag...etc, things like that) I'm kinda not interested playing the battle royal genre. Also, i crypto mining too, i just leave my rig when I'm not playing games or watching movies. Really appreciate to whomever reading this and putting a suggestion/suggestions for my rig upgrade...also, i got electrical black-out a couple days ago, so now my rig kinda broke (still troubleshooting it, still can't find where's the trouble), so it's probably a good time i upgrade something while finding the current problems. Cheers and stay save from covid

I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 550ti 1gb graphics card and I want to get the most out of it. I tried overclocking it myself in MSI afterburner but it was unsuccessful. Video was cutting out every 5-10 seconds so it was unstable. Also keep in mind I'm really new to overclocking. So I want to know if anyone here knows of any stable overclocks for this card. I have tried looking online for some but they are from different versions and so on. The GPU that I have is at a stock speed of 951 mhz if that is helpful to anyone. Appreciate the responses ahead of time.Thank you.

Hello everyone! I have a small question. I just got an HP 6000 PRO(tower) from work since it is really old and 2 out of 4 RAM slots are broken and we are not going to use it anymore. They wanted to throw it away, but it has an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 processor. I thought that I will take it. I wanted to make a temporary "gaming" rig for my girlfriend, since she is gaming on her laptop right now and it is shit... Unfortunately I have to buy a new motherboard, but it's just ~15€, so no problem. Anyways, to the point. My question is, if it will be enough for light 1080p gaming when I will throw a 550ti or 650ti in there? I already have a 500GB HDD and 8GB of ram for it. Will it work together with E8400? She mainly plays League of Legends, but it's because her laptop won't run any other game we would like to play on any decent FPS I'm tight on budget and if I can spend approx 100€ for the card and motherboard and have a decent performance I will go for it. So, what do you guys think? TL;DR Want to game on HP 6000 PRO. Thinking if this PC along with 550ti or 650ti/8GB RAM will be enough for decent 1080p gaming. Opinions?

Hey If I was to buy a new GPU I was wondering I do have an Evga GTX 550TI and what if I just bought Another one of those and did SLI would it be better than something like a 750TI. Altho if I was going with the road of SLI 550TI I would need a new motherboard but I might just do that anyway. Thanks

Hello everybody ^^ Since my HD 7870 died for good yesterday (RIP ), I decided to get a really cheap GPU to hold me until next year. I found a GTX 550ti, bought it and I was lucky enough to get a fresh copy of windows 10 pro for cheap from the same guy Now here's my quesion. Will the GTX 550 ti work with the latest drivers? Or do I have to search some legacy super old ones I took a look at NVidia's website..and for some reason the latest drivers don't seem to support my GPU..but they support a 555 model (I've never heard of that model haha) Tank you in advanced for the feedback !

Going to buy a 2nd hand gpu to slap into my hp computer (with an athlon x4 640) to do me until there is a few new polaris and pascal gpu's on the market. These are my options: GTX 550ti 1gb for €40 GTX 650ti for 1gb €70 Radeon HD7770 1gb x-edition €65 GTX 750ti 2gb €120 (NEW) The main games I want to run are Xcom 2 and TW Warhammer and if possible WItcher 3 at some kinda playable low settings. These are the prices in Ireland so the're worse than USA but I just can't decide what's the best option. Any help would be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance to any responders.

Okay, so recently I decided to give my PC a deep cleaning, and me being the genius that I am, decided to try to hook up a fan directly to my PSU. I promptly dropped the two leads coming from my PSU and gave my whole case a shock. This fried my mobo (hopefully not my CPU as well :/) so I decided to put my 550 TI into my only spare motherboard, a Gigabyte F2A68HM-H with an AMD A8-7600 APU in it and a G-Skill Sniper Series 8gb ram set. I was wondering if the A8-7600 and the 550Ti are going to get along long enough and at least give me enough power to run games like GTA 5 and The Walking Dead: Season Two adequately enough until I can get a new motherboard. Any help is appreciated!

Hello all. I'm pondering a GPU upgrade for my system and wanted to get some opinions from the community. I currently have 2 Galaxy 550ti cards (2 GB GDDR5 models) in SLI in my system. They've been able to handle most games on high settings (even a few in Ultra) at 1080p, but some more recent games (like Shadows of Mordor for instance) are starting to have lower FPS dips with a lower than normal FPS ceiling. So I think it's time to look for a new card. So here are a few specific details about my usage and budget. I play at 1080p only. No plans as of yet to move to anything higher. I used to have a multi-monitor setup. No surround, but a game on one screen and a movie on the other, that sort of thing. I'll eventually do that again, but right now it's just the one screen. I want to stick with NVIDIA. Nothing against Team Red, they make great cards, but I like the extra technologies NVIDIA has, like PhysX and Shadowplay. My budget is at 200 USD. I may be able to squeeze another 50 out of the budget if need be. I've been looking into the GTX 960 as an option, but I've read some reviews that say the card underperforms for the price. Would this be worth the upgrade? Also, while I like the LOOK of SLI (windowed side panel and all that), I'm not exactly married to it, so plans for SLI are not in the picture currently. I appreciate all of your recommendations.

I have a 750GB HDD, AMD phenom x4 9850, GeForce 550Ti, and 8gb DDR2 RAM. I also have a Megaraid SAS 888ELP RAID card inside. (I actually believe that this is causing the issue.) I recently upgraded to windows 10, and have been having issues ever since. Whenever I start the computer, it goes through its usual RAID bios, and goes into the windows loading screen. Then it just freezes, and absolutely won't start. I have to hold down the power button, restart the computer, and then it goes through this again, but actually starts. I have to do this every time, and it's getting to the point where it takes 5 or 10 minutes to get to the desktop. If you have any idea what the heck is going on, please help.

Hello everyone. I ask for your advise for a new GPU. Budget would be up to 170 euros. My PC specs: Gigabyte H61M-DS2 Intel i5-2400 3.2Ghz 16GB RAM GTX 550 Ti These are the websites Im searching to buy from: http://www.kilobaitas.lt/Kompiuteriu_komponentai/Vaizdo_plokstes/PCI-E_16x/CatalogStore.aspx?CatID=PL_433 http://www.1a.lt/kompiuteriu_komponentai/vaizdo_plokstes/min_price/120/max_price/170/1 https://www.varle.lt/vaizdo-plokstes/?sort=price&f.r.float-kaina=49.71:&p=4 Im thinking about getting VGE GTX 750 Ti http://www.kilobaitas.lt/PCI-E_16x/Asus/VGA_PCIE16_GTX750TI_2GB_GDDR5//GTX750TI-OC-2GD5/CatalogStoreDetail.aspx?CatID=PL_433&ID=546450 Thanks for your help.

Hey guys, So, I have a 3 year old pc with the following specs: -amd Phenom II x4 965 black edition (Stock Clock Speed & Fan); -am3+ AsRock motherboard (Not sure of the model ); -1tb Seagate HDD; -16GB Crucial Ballistix @1600 mhz; -600w psu; -GTX 550 ti (1gb GDDR5) Running on PCIE x16 2.0; I can still manage to play GTA V on the lowest settings & DirectX 11 with 40-60 fps, and can still get over 30fps when messing around with the settings. My buddy, on the other hand, has an i5 4670k (Stock Clock Speed & Fan), 4gb of Corsair Venegance ram, and a GTX 560, and he could only get over 30fps without stuttering when he switched to DX10. At least amongst my friends, a pattern emerged: More RAM = More Performance (on low end systems). I came up with a few theories: 1- As my PC automatically shares RAM with my GPU, it makes it more capable of running the game (combined, the memories add to 4096mb); 2- My PC also displays that aprox. 10gb of my ram is cached (That is when running the game, only), that makes it easier on my HDD to load stuff to the game, such as textures. The HDD where the game is installed is pretty standard and gets to only 10 to 20 % of disk usage. What do you guys think?! PS: Foreign tech noob here, excuse any grammar errors and fail logic regarding these subjects (edited)

Power Requirements if running R9 290 Windforce + 550ti?
Sentient68k posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Okay so first off, I know that sounds really weird to do. Who the hell would run a high end AMD card along side an older mid-level Nvidia card? I have a couple of reasons: 1) I have an Oculus Rift and I like to do development work on it. Because I like to do development I also have 3 monitors for work space and unfortunately this can cause some usability issues when working with the Rift. At best I have to disable one or more monitors to get things working right which is a bummer and kind of screws up any workflow I might have when using all screens and the Rift at the same time. I could offload my secondary screens to the 550Ti to help resolve some of this. 2) I also work in Blender and the Cycles renderer can make use of my Nivida GPU (but not my AMD GPU yet) for boosted rendering speed with CUDA. Even an older card like the 550ti is useful for the task. However I'm not sure if my power supply will be adequate. Granted the odds of both cards being close to peak at the same time are low but it could still be a stability issue I'm sure. So here is the power supply I use: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650 G 80 PLUS GOLD Certified 650W And my hardware configuration is (or would be): AMD 8350 4.0Ghz Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 Motherboard 16GB DDR3 1600 (4x 4GB) Corsair Hydro H60 CPU Cooler Samsung 830 256GB SSD Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache 2x 120mm Fans 1x 200mm blue LED fan Asus DVD RW SATA Drive Gigabyte GV-R929OC-4GD R9 290 PNY Nvidia Geforce 550ti As far as I can tell my 650 watt PSU should provide enough wattage. Especially given the 80+ Gold rating. However I have heard there can be worries about how much amperage is provided over the rails which would power the graphics cards. I'm having a little trouble getting solid answers on amp usage for these cards. Does anyone have advice on if this could cause some issues or does it seems like this would work out fine? If it helps here's the stats on the PSU from the Newegg page: Thanks in advance for any help! -
so i will sell my 280x because its a little underkill for gaming at 2560*1080 and i want to buy a sapphire 290 vapor-x at the moment. the problem is that i have three displays connected at the moment. one over dp, one over dual link dvi-d and one over dvi-i and then vga. for some reason the only 290 that has dvi-i is the gigabyte. so i can only connect my vga monitor to it with an expensive hdmi/vga connector box which makes the whole thing as expensive as a gigabyte 970 which has dvi-i. but i want the sapphire card because it looks damn good (i have a blue motherboard and blue ram). so i thought i perhaps could get some old nvidia drivers and use my old 550ti as vga display output while using my amd card for everything else. my questions are: is this even possible? can i somehow use the cpu vga output of my motherboard? do you have other solutions to this problem? and before you say it. yes for me its really worth the effort because i love this vga monitor thanks for your help

Hello all, First off, computer specs are as follows: CPUi7-3770k MotherboardASRock Z77 Extreme6 RAM8 GB (2x4) Corsair Ballistix Sport low profile 1333 mhz GPU2x EVGA GTX 550ti in SLI CaseHAF 912 StorageToshiba THNSJ128, Seagate 500 GB HDD PSUCorsair 750 W Display(s)BenQ GL2760H CoolingThermalTake Extreme 3.0 KeyboardRazer Black Widow Essential MouseRazer Deathadder 2013 SoundOnboard Operating SystemWindows 8.1 Pro Today I purchased a shiny new BenQ GL2760H and it looks gorgeous. I'm loving it. Although I've run into a bit of a snag. EVERYTHING works great until I try to launch SPECIFIC games. The screen begins to scroll blue wavy lines across the screen. It only does this in SOME games. Here is the list: Normal video display: Soldier Front 2 Tower of Guns Stanley Parable Funky blue lines: Alan Wake CS:GO Borderlands 2 Tomb Raider (2013) 3D Mark Here's what I've done: Uninstalled/Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers. Uninstalled/Reinstalled BenQ drivers. Ran dxdiags. Everything's ok. Detached second monitor (older 22" Insignia TV) Restarted PC multiple times. Reset all color settings on the monitor. Verified that global settings in NVIDIA Control Panel (Let the application decide) doesn't conflict with application specific settings. Verified GPUs and monitor are on same refresh rate and color bit. Turning off V-Sync (blue lines move more quickly) The only time I haven't seen the blue lines in the aforementioned games/applications is when I turned SLI off, but there was a lot of stuttering because my settings were for my SLI rig, not a single GPU. Again, this only happens in the aforementioned games and at no other time during regular usage. Any thoughts?

So... I currently have an AMD processor, 3.5ghz, and i forgot what kind of motherboard, but the fact is, it's almost 2 years old, and i don't have a ton of money. I want to upgrade my GPU from a Geforce GTX 550ti to something that can handle high density games much easier at roughly 60 FPS, I.E. Borderlands 2 on Ultra during a massive firefight. Currently, I get around 25-35 FPS when I play on ultra with my 550ti, which isn't bad, but also isn't ideal. I also want to get more RAM. I currently have 8 GB, that's 4x2GB sticks of RAM, and I want to get 2x8GB sticks of ram. So my question is... What graphics card should I get that won't break the bank, and what RAM should i get, same guidelines. I'm willing to spend up to $200 for each, but absolutely no more, 200 is my absolute limit. Thank you, and have a wonderful day

I am almost finished with my upgrade. The only thing left is a watercooler for the CPU (kraken x61) and a GPU. Happy to see that the 900 series is released it is what got me out of bed today. I am looking into the 980. Should I wait for EVGA to stock sites like newegg and ncixus with a ACX cooled card, or say the heck with it and go with the basic single fan card? Would like to stay with EVGA but not opposed to MSI cards. What do friends?

So i just purchased an Asus Direct CU radeon R9 270. It runs battlefield and other stuff great but when it comes to minecraft it blows. It runs minecraft far worse than my old 550 ti. All the drivers are up to date and I even have it overclocked. Is there a fix to this or has anyone else experienced this?

Title says it all. I really want to try out shadowplay on my family pc after how buggy GVR was with my main rig and 7850. Family pc has i3-3240, 4GB Ram, and 550ti right now.
