I just bought a 2TB Seagate firecuda 530 PCIE 4 SSD without a heat sink to add to my new HP Envy 16 2022 laptop. I’m wondering if I need to find a way to add a heat sink to it or will it be fine by itself? What could happen? (The other PCIE ssd in the laptop has no heat sink but I think the 530 might use more power). Thanks for the advice!

Hello o/ So I bought a dell xps 15 9550. It's the i7 6700HQ version with a gtx 960m. I don't plan on gaming but would like to extend the desktop to an external 2560x1600 display (30hz isnt a deal breaker but 55-60hz is preferable). Based on what I have read the iGPU (HD 530) can run the resolution, it is running UHD (3840x2160) on the laptop display after all. The HDMI port can run it, I have also tried using a usb-c >> hdmi 1.4 adapter. And yes my cable is compatible with the res. I have tried setting a custom resolution via the intel utility but get "the custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity". I have tried installing the default intel drivers but they refuse to install (because dell ones block it). I have tried uninstalling and deleting current drivers and then installing the default intel ones but the system simply doesn't recognize the presence of the iGPU anymore. I don't think the dGPU (gtx 960m) can request access to the port, I could be wrong but I think the request has to come from the dongle / port. I know we can make this work, please help me. Exact system specs: Laptop - DELL XPS 15 9550: i7 6700HQ @ 2.6ghz I think. Intel HD 530. gtx 970m 2gb. 1tb pcie ssd. 32gb ram. UHD 3840x2160 60hz touchscreen display. Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C connector). External Monitor - DELL 3007WFP: 2560x1600 @ 60hz. DVI-D only. Dongle - AUKEY usb c hub: monitors with HDMI port, it also can support 4K*2K/30HZ HD resolution. NOT A THUNDERBOLT HUB; THIS IS USB-C @ - 5Gbps. I tried dongle with nothing but display plugged in to ensure maximum bandwidth. Cable - World of Data: 1m HDMI to DVI cable. UHD compatible. I also tried a cable which I know from experience is capable of driving the resolution.

Hey there, (thanks to another topic at this subforum) i managed to get a third monitor plugged into my motherboard via vga aditionally to my two regular monitors plugged into my gtx970. the video device that is used for the motherboard video ports is a intel hd 530 from my i7 6700k cpu. my main monitor is 1080p 144Hz and the second monitor is 1080p 60Hz. the device manager tells me, monitor 1 and 2 run off my gtx970 and the 3rd one runs off the hd 530. problem is; some of the applications on my windows seem to lag massively with that setting. scrolling, keyboard input etc. are all extremely low fps/laggy/high latency (for example chrome). playing csgo though works just fine with regular framerate and fluent 144Hz rate (i'm sure its not at 60). i ended up deactivating the hd 530 in the device manager now and everything's perfectly fine again besides that i cant use my 3rd monitor. unfortunately, my 3rd monitor cant be plugged into the gtx970 because my DVI port is fully busy with the 144Hz screen (dual DVI) and the 2nd monitor is connected via hdmi and the 3rd one seems to be to old to work with displayport is there anything i can do about the lag stuff? thanks a lot in advance!

Hey guys I'm kinda stuck. I'm trying to decide which laptop I should get. They both cost 500 euros. The Lenovo V330-14ARR has a Ryzen 5 2500U, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD and below average Full HD monitor. On the other hand the Lenovo Yoga 530-14ARR has a Ryzen 3 2200U, 4GB DDR4, 128GB SSD and a better looking Full HD touch sensitive monitor. So my question is, should I sacrifice performance for a better monitor and a better looking laptop or not?

Hi guys, I just got my dads old Dell Inspiron 530, anyone know what type of Graphics Card I should get for it? I want to run games such as Fortnite, Rainbow 6 Seige, PUBG, and GTA. Thanks

Hey all, Quick question: Would the Intel HD 530 graphics on an i7 6700HQ mobile CPU be enough to handle a 1080p video workflow in Adobe Premiere CC; specifically being paired with 16GB of RAM and an SSHD? Thanks for the help!

Is there any desktop package that you guys can recommend that includes intel hd 530? My friend wants a pc and he plays games like League csgo and stuff.

Curious whether I could put a CM Megaflow inside the front of my case without making any modifications. The front fan is currently the only part of my PC which does not fit with my colour scheme so if I could replace it that would be fantastic.

Hi guys! I am new to the forum. I am in the process of upgrading my main PC. The old one comprises of: i7 920 Prolimatech Megahelms Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Sapphire HD5870 LC Power Hyperion 700W all the afformentioned parts dwell in a Thermaltake Armor+ V6000BWS Full Tower, which has been great, but, it is time for it to take it's leave... So, I already have bought most of the new parts: i7 4790 Prolimatech Megahelms (this one has been exceptional so it remains) Asrock Z97 Extreme 4 Be Quiet! Straight Power 10 800W 16GB RAM What remains to be bought now is the new Full Tower case... I am wavering between Corsair 780t and NZXT Phantom 630. They are both VERY beautiful cases, in their own different ways, so in terms of looks there isn't much to be said. I also like the somewhat smaller NZXT Phantom 530 which is quite cheaper and newer than the 630 and I think it is going to still be big enough. The thing is that I have read in many blogs and fora, that the 630 has some rigidity issues concerning the chassis when the hdd cages are removed and some complaints about the paint (some say that it is easily chipped away). Likewise, many people say that the 780t's biuld quality is not as expected by a manufacturer like Corsair. All those comments have troubled me and I really cannot decide which one to pick. So, I would like to ask, primarily the owners of those cases, but also anyone who knows better, what are the real drawbacks of each of the afformentioned cases. Thanks in advance.

I am currently using a Intel 520 Series 120GB drive as my boot partition and was looking to upgrade to a RAID 0 setup but I'm not too sure which SSD to go with. I am looking at the following options(and their prices here): Intel 530 Series 240GB $199 Intel 730 Series 240GB $269 Samsung 850 EVO 240GB $199 All drives come with a 5 year local warranty. I'm running a Z77 Sabertooth with an 3570K @4.4GHz if you guys need to know. Please advise me on what to do ^^ Thanks

I'm unsure if I am doing something wrong but the front of the NZXT Phantom 530 will not come off I have calluses on my fingers from trying...Any help?

Good day everyone! I'm currently building my new rig and I still need a boot drive. It will only be used for Windows and applications, so 120/128 GB are fine. I've been looking at tons of different drives, but I still can't decide.. Also I don't really know if to look for IOPS or MB/s (read a lot of articles and forum posts but everyone keeps telling different things). I really want fast boot-up speeds and fast reads, but probably the most important aspects for me are reliability and endurance. So it came down to two drives: The 120GB Intel 530 as it's told that Intel has incredible reliability and the 120GB HyperX 3k from Kingston because it was one of the best in TechReport's endurance test. So, which one should I get? Or should i ditch both of them and go for none of these two? Thanks in advance, RT

I'm looking into changing cases, from a Zalman z9, The four cases that I've been looking into are the Fractal Design Define R5, Phanteks Enthoo Pro, NZXT Phantom 240 & Phantom 530. My budget is £100 and ideally I want the case to have a window, as well as 5.25" drive bays, which rules out the H440 unfortunately. So, which case should I go with? or are there any other cases that I should consider? Cheers! -EDIT- Corsair 540 has been thrown into the mix! Any thoughts on this over the others?

Hi, I'm in the process of picking parts for my first pc build, and I've ultimately chosen for airflow cooling. I'm looking to make sure air is flowing correctly in my case: NZXT Phantom 530. Relevant other variables: Using a Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler. Using a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB Windforce. I was thinking the correct way to go about it is: Front: 1x 200mm intake Rear: 1x 140mm exhaust Top: 2x 120mm exhaust Above are all available mounting possibilities. What do you guys think?

Hello, I brought a 530 (120GB) and its write speed is very poor. I can get only around 120MBps (read speed is OK, about 450MBps). AHCI is activated and i try it even with shutdown antivirus. I use Probook 4540s with Windows 8.1 Update 1. (Everything is updated.) Thank you for any advise.

Hi everyone, this is my first thread, so yeah... Anyways, I have all my parts ready for a new, 1st time build except for the case. My build is centred around the Intel i5 4670k and I will be air cooling with a Thermalright Macho. I am looking for a nice, aesthetically-pleasing, well-built case with good acoustic efficiency (but with airflow prioritising silence) and a side window within a flexible budget of £70. Three cases come to mind. The first case is the Coolermaster 690III. As the title states, I've found a great deal and am able to get this for around £50. This ticks all the right boxes but I'm worried about the build quality. Is it fully plastic or is the mesh metal? The second case is the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2. This is available for around £70 and once again, ticks all the right boxes for me. I'm concerned whether its worth £20 more than the 690III though. Also, despite being a minimalist, I think this case might be a bit too bland but I get a weird impression that this case will look better in real life than the promo pictures. The last case is the NZXT Phantom 530. This is definitely the most appealing case to me since it has amazing airflow as well as very quiet operation. It's aesthetic is a love/hate thing but I love it. It literally is my perfect, dream case but I find it hard to justify the extra £50 over the 690III. I am aware that this is a full tower case, but personally I don't necessarily need the extra space, it's more of a bonus feature. I believe all three of these cases are solid offerings and I have done a fair bit of research. All these cases are easy to work in and have very good watercooling support. Although I'm not planning to watercool any time soon, I may change my mind if prices drop during my next upgrade cycle. So which case do you guys think is most suitable for me? I am very price-concious (as you'll see if I do a build log *hint* *hint* ) but I'm thinking whether spending the extra money will be justified in the long term since the chassis is the component that is likely to be reused the most. Thanks!

Hey there! So I am always looking at new cases, specially the ones that are in Black. I wanted to go with a Red/Black color scheme with my PC. I decided to settle on the Phantom 530 because it comes in black, has a nice windowed side panel (downside is a stupid little 120 fan that you can place for the HDD's which some people don't like, but meh...), easy to build in, but specially the fact that it has a 10 fan hub really drew me in! I enjoy that feature quite a lot. Meanwhile, Corsair 450D looks really good! Solid, and I've liked the Obsidan series. I really like that the front intake fans are not covered by anything and get some nice airflow unlike the 750D or 900D, but downside is of course that amazing 10 fan hub haha. In your opinion, what is the best case for less than $150 that I can get? Has to be black (maybe a coating that looks black enough), and a nice Windowed side panel (I enjoy looking inside :3) Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I've got some minor questions and need help. I'll also take suggestions as to what case to chose. I am going with a black and red scheme, so the H440 fits well. I love the fan-hubs on the Phantom cases, but I am not sure if the fans in the Define R4 or the H440 will choke. (Front intakes and H100i at the top with pull set up). I enjoy the set-up for the Phantom 530 rads at the top. It offers some nice features, but I kinda want a sleek design now. * will the fans be choking in the H440 or the R4? * Can I set up a nice Pull H100i config. on the H400, and R4 (with an Asus Maximus VI hero) * Which one should I go for? 530, R4 or H440?! (Again, open to suggestions) Thanks guys!

Hi guys I'm planning on swapping my current case for the NZXT Phantom 530 and add in some cooling besides the fans already installed, but as I don't have any experience with this, like at all, I thought I would ask you guys to be sure. I'm thinking on getting the Corsair H105 and set it in push/pull, 2 120mm AF-fans on the buttom of the case, an 140mm AF on the side, an 140mm AF on the hard drive cage and an extra 120mm fan beside the radiator on the top. Now my question is, are the fan cables long enough to reach the fan controller on the back if I wanted to route all the fans back to it, or do I need extentions? Also as I understand it the Phantom's fan controller can support 10 fans not including the ones included with the case. So if I use the Y-splitter included with the H105 I should be okay with adding the 9 extra fans, right? And lastly, is it recommended I get a filter for that side-panel fan or is it fine to leave it as it is? The filter costs just over 10$ but I don't plan on cleaning my PC very often. Thanks in advance

So today i notice there is a new 530 series of Intel's SSDs. which is a replacement of the 520 series. What do you guys think about it? Linus need to come back from Hawaii to do a review Sources: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/intel_530_ssd_benchmark_review_test,1.html http://ark.intel.com/products/75328/Intel-SSD-530-Series-180GB-2_5in-SATA-6Gbs-20nm-MLC Where to buy: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-180GB-2-5-Inch-Internal-SSDSC2BW180A401/dp/B00DTPYRKC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1380221266&sr=8-2&keywords=530+intel Where are the Samsung Fans?

I actually have a Phantom 530, and Linus said that the 220X will be sold also in 360mm version... Does it fit in my case? I was wondering because i have a dvd reader in the lowest bay, so the reservoir may hit that...

I'm looking into building my first computer (gaming). I have chosen the NZXT Phantom 530 as my case, but I want to make sure that I can put as many fans as I want to in the case & work with my motherboard. I'm still deciding on my motherboard (ASUS Maximus VI Hero / ASUS z87 Sabertooth / MSI z87 GD65 ) and knowing which motherboard will accompany any amount of fans that I want may be a deciding factor. So how does the Fan Hub on the case receive power & do the fans need to be connected to the motherboard if they're connected to the hub? Any other input/information you give will be appreciated, but I want to chose the motherboard between the 3 listed above if possible. Here's my current parts list http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Gottagame9000/saved/2YaS
