I'm planning on buying the AMD FX-4300 CPU because the current CPU that I have right now is very old and can't keep up with my R7 360 GPU, will it be a good choice? I'm only gaming on my system as well as surfing the web, I might actually upgrade to a 1050 Ti or something similar to it because my budget is low. between the i5 3330 and fx 4300 what has better price to performance?

Ok, i have a AMD FX-4300 3.8Ghz its not the beefiest bastard about by any means, but i have had a bit of a fiddle with the over clocking, it can be pretty stable at around 4.5-4.6Ghz but once it starts to go underload it starts pumping out around about 70c heat. if anyone else has some tricks with overclocking amd's id love to hear and see some setups. BUT i mostly wanna hear what is a acceptable temp margins for the AMD FX CPUs, i read some people said keep it below 60, which is why its sitting on a 5% OC atm, my cooling is done by a H55 Corsair, not very beefy, but it goes alright for a mighty mouse AIO cooler, i beefed it up a little with 2 Corsair SP120 fans to get the airflow shifting (the stock one was a bit above a mouse cough and wasn't doing it for me). my Mobo is a Asrock 970 Extreme 3 R2.0 so its OC is a bit different and its results i know will vary. but any OC info on settings and TEMP range will be handy, also some suggestions

So first ff lets start with my current build.. I know it's older but I am trying to save as much money as I can here and thus my budget build. So my Cpu While gaming on stuff like guild wars 2, Skyrim (heavily modded) Secondlife and a few others sits at 90-98% usage dependens on how much is going on, While my gpu is sitting around 50% max. So I am trying to find out if I upgrade to a fx 6300 or a fx 8320e if I would still be bottle necking. Any input is welcomed, just no bashing amd/intel. We use what we can aford.

i saved up some cash to upgrade my Nvidia GT 640 1GDDR5 card to a R9 390X but found out my FX 4300 would bottleneck it. i know upgrading the cpu to a 6300 would help but i don't want to invest in old architecture just yet since the zen has been floating around. despite it costing 100 bucks nowadays. i'm aware the highest i can possibly go would be R9 380/380x. now would crossfiring the cards bottleneck it or would that be fine. i am using the oc genie on my build and would give specs below. Hey, I was overclocking my FX 4300 and everything was going fine. I had reached 4.5GHz and just finished a half hour prime95 small FTT's test so I decided to fire up Battlefield 4 to see if it was stable enough to game, it suddenly froze so I was like whatever it needs more voltage... I pressed the restart button and I haven't been able to get back into Windows again, it just shows attempting repairs and fails. How could overclocking break Windows? I was just at 1.35v. Help, I don't want to download all my games again >_<

Hello, I have a q8600 + 4gb ddr2 ram with a gtx750ti oc 2gb. I want to upgrade my cpu, I live in Peru, which cpu should I pick if I want to game for at least 1 year more? Athlon x4 860k = 105$ Fx 4300 = 115$ Fx 6300 = 140$ i3 4160 = 150$ i5 4460 = 250$ For this year should be enough 16gb ram? or pick a mobo where i can upgrade to 32gb? Most played games: Rust, cs:go, Skyrim, Far Cry 4, L4D2 + mods, gmod

I've got a rig from ibuypower about a year ago (second machine from them). They charge 70$ for shipping, but you pick your parts and the price is about the same as getting the parts yourself. I usually order full rigs from them and upgrade overtime. A year ago I got another machine with an awesome case, gtx 660, fx 4300 + liquid cooler for it, 500watt PSU from some crap unknown company, and 1tb WD blue HDD. Today I have the same CPU + Mobo, but a gtx 970 clocked at 1300, a 512 samsung 840 pro 512gb + the 1tb WD drive for storage, 8gb dual channel ddr3 memory, 1000watt 80+rated PSU, fans all around the case via molex -> 4 fans wire (all on silent and more fans = more fun), and more [that's what's important I guess]. The FX 4300 is running cool and stable at 4.3 almost 4.4 GHZ for a year now. It's a quad core processor and most games use 4 cores if you're lucky nowadays. I've been playing tripple A tittles at 60+ fps with my 970 (1080p), League at 120+ FPS, and basically never had any problems playing games! It's amazing how far this low end CPU takes you when you have adequate cooling and such. In ~April I get my second annual grant so I'll be able to buy a ~500$ i7 + mobo and it will be the end of my FX4300. I just wanted to write a story on how "AMD CPU's are not COMPLETE CRAP". Of-course intel is better, WoW doesn't show a huge boost since it's not optimized for GPUs, but for strictly gaming I had NO problems with it. I hear the CPU is around 70 bucks nowadays and a cheap liquid cooler is all you need to get an intro setup. I probably will run a minecraft server on debian/ubuntu server once I replace my CPU+Mobo (i7 + unlocked [need to OC to ATLEAST 4GHZ] + hyper-threaded + 6 cores true cores + all of intels fancy-pants features) with the old AMD chip since when I upgrade a part, I put the old part in the new parts box. Or buy a cheapo monitor for when friends come-over so we can play league together or some other games and they'll be on a stable computer. This is just brainstorming. The point of this thread is to show how far a cheap, low end CPU can go. [ http://bit.ly/1l82YJK ] - 100$ on newegg; and considering IBuyPower gave me the liquid cooler free, I don't think it's a high end one, so another 20$-30$; and you'll be playing at 1080P in no-time. I've never had a single issue running anything, I don't really render videos, I used to stream WoW + Skyrim and had NO problem. Of-course I suggest if you really want to stream to get the 6300 (Same specs just 6 cores, 2 extra cores really help with background processes while games take up all 4 cores). I do need more cores because I want to do more work soon, that's why I'm going for a high end processor; and it will be the final "check" in building a "high end" rig, but if you just want to start playing steam games on a budget; as somebody who actually used this chip for around a year overclocked, and still using it; I can without a doubt recommend it [WITH A LIQUID COOELR] for a budget build; and you won't be disappointed. Just something I want to talk about. P.S. I do not know how this chip functions with a stock cooler/anything other than a water-cooler. Without it I doubt i'd be running the chip this long, and having this great of a computing experience. - Don't invest in AMD cpu's over the 6300; if you really want a powerful CPU start looking at intel's products; 4300+6300 will let you game and stream -- but if you want to do a lot of video/graphic design/rendering then this isn't the CPU for you. - No this is not for 4k either Thanks!

Will a Radeon HD 7950 bottleneck a AMD FX-4300?

i questioned on many sites but still have not got Solid Answer.. as my previous thread was for Upgrading GPU,decision i taken to Buy Nvidia Gtx 760, But now its Turn for CPU, i am BUDGET USER, (10 11k INR Budged after sold current RIG ) my main motive to Uprade for Gaming (especially for GTA 5) i am Currently Using Intel i5 2310,8gb Ram Corsair vengence, 650w PSU,Regular MOBO Asus P8H61M-LX3-R2.0 its already good, better than previously i used Amd phenom II x6 1055 4ghz oc on Expensive MOBO, got 60 fps Maximum but in current on Regular MOBO with i5 2310 i get 67+FPS in GTA 4, So these are Choice i can Handle Right now (i cant buy another Intel or you say buy i5 2500k or another, WHICH I CANT, ITS TOO EXPENSIVE) 1. KEEP CURRENT RIG WHICH IS I5 2310 2. BUY AMD FX 6300 WITH REGULAR MOBO and MOBO which i listed below 3. BUY AMD FX 4300 WITH GOOD MOBO I cant buy too much expensive Mobo's, AM3+ Mobo lists are ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard ASRock 960GC-GS FX Motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Motherboard ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2 Motherboard are these Mobo are good for small overclocking and gaming? So these are Choice, i cant increase the Budget,(already buying gtx 760) Please help me and give me right choice.
