Budget (including currency): What I'm trying to find out Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 2D and 3D art Hello! Beginner here. I have decided to start saving to make my own computer for making art with, and I was wondering what goal I should shoot for. My current goal is £2000, is that overboard for what I'm trying to achieve? (I currently have £150 saved up) I don't plan on doing SERIOUS HARDCORE GAMING with this ideal computer, the only reason I'd need a good graphics card is for rendering stuff in Blender or whatever, and I know that the biggest bottleneck in price is usually the graphics card. Thoughts? I appreciate any and all input

Hello folks, I write this in desperation right now as I need a monitor and I held on for months till LG's 27GL850 were introduced to Indian market but there's no talk of any of them being available. Then recently came BenQ EX2780Q and even that isn't yet available here and I don't know if it will be for foreseeable future. The reason I want some help here is because my current Dell 1080p IPS monitor I got from 2014 has some panel issues, it flickers randomly [though rarely] and has a permanent green vertical line to the left side. Therefore, it may die someday soon or even if it doesn't, I feel like I do need an upgrade as I upgraded to 1080Ti earlier this year. Now my usage is : some competitive gaming such as R6 Siege/Destiny 2 at the moment with all kinds of games that interest me, indie or AAA ones. I like IPS and I don't wanna go to a TN panel, not because I love the IPS, but also because of my second main usage: 3D Modeling, I am an aspiring 3D artist, I try to sculpt/create characters so I use ZBrush/Maya/Substance etc for my studies. Right now, the only option I could see that's available to me is an Acer XB271HU [45,000 Rs = approx 600$ USD] in the market that's both IPS and 144Hz to meet my needs here where I think I could both game and work on my 3D art. However, I really wanna know people's suggestion from here if available, the websites I use to get PC components are - amazon.in, theitdepot.com, primeabgb.com, mdcomputers.in, vedantcomputers.com I've considered Acer Nitro XV272U a while back when I first asked for an advice through the forum but found out that it's a downscaled 4k panel or something from one of the reviews that says it's not as good as a native 1440p monitor so that turned me off from getting it. I've also looked at BenQ PD2700Q and BenQ SW2700PT, kinda entertained the idea of me buying one of these, trying to convince myself that maybe it's the right choice to again stick with 60Hz for focusing more on work but I also can't get the idea of a higher refresh rate out of my head especially when there's IPS monitors available out there with 144Hz these days. TL;DR - On a budget of around 45,000 Rs/600$ USD Study 3D Character Modeling + Moderate amount of gaming 1. Want a 1440p IPS monitor with 144Hz refresh rate but only have Acer XB271HU available in market as far as I've looked [is it a good option?] 2. If I must, I'm willing to go lower with refresh rate if that's really what I should aim for as an artist first than a competitive gamer or the other way around, maybe someone in the industry of 3D Character design would argue I wouldn't need that much color accuracy unless it's a color grading work for Pixar or something [someone said that to me once] Please help me out here, I'm really lost and confused that it's eating me up inside.

I´m building myself a high end machine primarely for professional 3D work and secundary gaming for which I´ve narrowed down my choice for a suitable CPU on the following cores: Intel Core i7-8700K (6 x 3.70 GHz / 4.70 GHz) Intel Core i7-7820X (8 x 3.60 GHz / 4.30 GHz) AMD Ryzen 7 1800X (8 x 3.60 GHz / 4.00 GHz) Potentially also an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X 12x 3.50GHz I´ve done my homework and looked up various arguments regarding cores/compatibility/price and the i7-8700K seems to be a good bet being intels latest relase however it´d be a great help to hear more opinions on this. Especially when it comes to: -Is Coffee lake that good to justify a 8700K instead of a 7820X? -Higher clock speeds = good for gaming and number of cores = great for a multi tasking oriented work environment (many programs active at the same time) -If your programs only support 4 cores but you run multiple at the same time, do they still benefit from an 8 core in terms of being able to be split between them? -Intel/AMD compatibility experiences by fellow 3D guys -AMD experiences so far with the new ryzen lineup Looking forward to any input you can give me!

Games, Wow, Call of duty and BG3 Other details Current PC 6800k@ 4.1ghz, 32 gb ram, 1070 gtx. 1000watt psu. 2x 1440p Monitor. Liquidfreezer - 420 aio I'm a 3D artist, i have started to do a lot of our pre-rendered video work into the unreal Engine. Now working from home have been struggling with some scenes we are working on, having Ray traying on with the 1070 is just a 2fps slidshow. I Have to force Ray tracying off, also the rendering is also starting to go all gpu. I max out the 8gb vram especaily with multiple 3d packages open. So i'm looking at the 3090 to put in my system, yes i know overkill for games and will bottleneck etc. Mainly i do Modeling/texturing, I do only do a few preveiw renders most renders are pushed out to the farm so i haven't felt the need for a beast Cpu yet. Mainly i need fast interaction and the ablitly to preview and paint on complex models and large texture sets in real time. For Work im convinced the 3080 10gb vram just will end up not being enough, on paper the amd look good but unsure how well they with production packages. (have been burned by amd in the past) The 3090 seems perfect all be a big investment, but will it be a massive detriment in my current system? My plans are 1 Get 3090 in my current system (as i need a RTX card) and forget about the bottle neck for games. (or will the production packages be bottlenecked too much) 2 Go ham and get. x570 board mobo, ryzan 5900, 3090 gfx, 64 gb ram, Nvme gen 4 drive. Trying to look benchmarks but not many around for production epsecaily a 3090 with a 6800k. At the moment i flip on what to do daily.. Thanks
