Hey all, I will try to keep this short and sweet. I've scoured the internet for an answer but all I see is seriously mixed results. So, I had my old PC lying around, as I recently upgraded. I didn't want this to go to waste anymore, so have made the decision to attempt to convert this to a SFF and use specifically for gaming in the living room. The system houses a 3900X, and a 2080 super GPU. I purchased a Fractal Terra without doing any prior research and found that I couldn't get any cooler sufficient enough that would fit in the system, without extreme noise levels, even running in ECO mode on the CPU front. I am looking to make the switch to a PHANTEKS Evolv Shift 2 case, and just want to know, will this CPU run, at reasonable temperatures, in ECO mode, whilst using a 120mm AIO? (Potentially H60i, or beQuiet! Pure Loop 120mm. Or any other recommendations that would keep this as cool as possible, whilst maintaining low noise levels). Yes, I know this is an overkill CPU; I needed it for game development work, but have since upgraded, so I didn't want to waste the 3900X and just go buy a lower performant CPU for this purpose . Thanks in advance... All the best... and most of all, Happy New Year! -Liam

I currently have a Ryzen 9 3900X paired with an RTX 2080 Super OC 8G and 64GB ram at 3600mhz. I am planning to replace my 2080 Super OC with an ASUS Dual 4070 OC 12G. Will that be a problem with performance? Or will there be a bottleneck with my Ryzen 9 3900x. I thought my CPU was super powerful due to the core count and all that but apparently the Ryzen 7 has some newer CPU's with less cores that are better. Anyway just seeing if someone can help shed some light, I also plan to get a 1440P monitor when I get the 4070 aswell, thanks!

Before anything, I'm Brazilian and I work with 3d rendering so I was looking for a powerful pc mainly to work with, and that could also handle games. I built up a PC (it's my first time) and bought a ryzen9 3900x and an RTX2060super, but since I don't understand about power supplies, I bought the cheapest 80plus 600w PSU that I found. When the PC arrived, the PSU was making an unpleasant noise that only got worse when the CPU worked harder. I activated the warranty and sent the PSU, now I'll have to wait like 2 months until they give me a response about the PSU problem, send back and finally arrive at my house. And now the problem is, I need to work but the only PSU I have left is a non80plus 550w, and I'm afraid of burning my PC down. My PC: CPU: 3900x with stock cooler MB: x470gtn (https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=910) GPU: rtx2060super mini (https://www.zotac.com/pt/product/graphics_card/zotac-gaming-geforce-rtx-2060-super-mini) RAM: 2x 8gb 3200mhz SSD: evo 850 500gb Gabinet: mini-tower with 4 fans cheap 600w 80plus: https://www.terabyteshop.com.br/produto/12395/fonte-cougar-vtc-600-80-plus-600w-pfc-ativo-31vc060004p01?gclid=CjwKCAiA1L_xBRA2EiwAgcLKA5dWWRWC1KhXgotUL8hR9UTaL4Iwz78jqunLHnIkKhkQVVUbumTYgBoC0bMQAvD_BwE 550w non80plus I have left with 2 years of use: https://www.pichau.com.br/fonte-cooler-master-elite-v2-550w-rs550-pcarn1-br-box The main question is, my 600w psu will be suficient for my PC? If yes, can I use the 550w while I wait it to arrive?? And if not, what PSU do you guys recommend me to buy right now?

Budget (including currency): 180 USD Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 4K video and photo editing, web design, graphics and UX design, 3D Rendering, coding, heavy multitasking, almost 24/5 operation. It will also handle some vms which I plan to run LINUX and other versions of windows. Other details I'm looking to build with a 3900X which costs around 12000 Pesos here in the Philippines. I now just need to decide on a motherboard. Which should not go over 180 USD (P10,000) I choose the 3900X in order to remove the workload from my old Acer Nitro 5AN 515 55 which has i5 10300H GTX 1650 ti 4GB 32GB 2999mhz DDR4 Ram I already have decided on a cpu with more cores and already have the following components in storage which I already bought years back: ASUS RTX 3060 OC 8GB Corsair Vengance DDR4 3200 32x2GB RAM Corsair Bronze 750W PSU 2 Segate Baracuda HardDrives 1TB Each 1TB SAMSUNG 980 Pro M.2 NVME

Hello! I just upgraded my cpu from a 3700x to a 3900x. I have a kraken x72 aio on my system. I was wondering if there would be any measurable benefit of putting fans both on top and under neath the radiator? There are mounting points on both sides of the radiator, and I was curious if there would be any difference getting 3 more fands and doing a push – push or push – pull setup on the radiator. My idea behind this was that if I keep the air moving through the radiator faster, the greater volume of air would absorb more heat to cool down the coolant. I was wondering if any one had tried this and noticed anything!

Hi all reading this I just purchased an ebay 3900x from seller europe_99 , my previous components with no issues or OC before or after. Asus tuf b450m plus 2 2400g Corsair vengeance lpx 2x8gb 3200mhz Xfx rx 580 8gb Gigabyte 256 m.2 ssd pcie 3.0 x4 Pny 1tb 2.5 ssd I updated the bios to asuss' recommended ver. 4010 with all the hardware listed above only switching to the 3900x. Now I've only seen a flash of the sign in screen on windows but scared the cpu maybe faulty I'm getting error codes Kernel data inpage error Memory management Whea uncorrectable error And one 0x00021a I've noticed in the bios it's idle voltage is 1.406 to 1.417... Even when i tried to reinstall windows it wont even let me pull it from any usb slot I'm at a loss any help will be greatly appreciated

Hello People as the title saying that i just recently build my brand new PC. CPU : Ryzen 9 3900x AIO : Corsair ICUE H115i with 7 fans constantly running on high. Voltage around 1.4v Ram 32 gb 3200mhz The issue i am facing with the same setting before my idle was 38° to 39° are even 40 to 41 not more than that. When i open and app or software like google chrome etc it would go upto 44° to 45° and am ok with that. Recently I figured that my RAM was using soo much like 8 gb on idle not software opened maybe some back software like icue and etc. Then I stop sysmain which releved my ram from 8gb to 4.5 gb. But stop the sysmain back fired like the idle cpu temp go up 41° to 43° and when i open any software like google chrome the temp go upto 49° to 51° and even go upto 54 to 55 when it starts too cool down. Then I start the sysmain again but the temps didnt came back when it was on idle but on 100% its working good Before and after. I tried to reset the block of AIO which is running on extreme and updated the bios nothing works. I have recently bought arctic silver 5 thermal paste but i believe it is not the issue of thermal paste also. Even while typing this topic the temp got up to 45°. So guys need ur help.

Hi, after hunting round for a while I’ve come to the conclusion that the 5900x isn’t going to drop in price or come into stock any time soon (before September) so I’ve decided to go with either the 5800x or 3900x. My work load will consist of 3D cad, most of the adobe work space, programming, gaming, perhaps streaming with friends once in a while and most general uses. My max budget for a cpu is £500 and will most likely be paired with a 3070 or 3080 (if I can get my hands on one ) Which cpu will be better equipped for my work load? I’m not to sure which will be more beneficial Thanks for the help, stay safe, lex

Hi. I'm planning on building a new computer. I've already got my GPU (3070 FE) and my motherboard. However i still have my doubts about the cpu. For heavy editing, streaming and eventually gaming (honestly i rarely play new games, except Minecraft with shaders lol), what's the best bang for the bucks? I know that the 5900x is better, but it's either unavailable or double the price of a 3900xt. Maybe a 5800x is better for me? It's the same price than the 3900xt but it seems that it performs less well with Adobe Premiere Pro. What should I pick? Thanks in advance.

I have a AMD 3900x with MSI x570 gaming edge WiFi. Currently I am facing a weird problem. In idle the task manger picks random processes and give it high CPU usage percentage. even though those processes never used more than 5% CPU before. total CPU usage even in idle will reach 100% and stay there or will give spikes. my CPU fan running high now. Another thing, When I tried to change my thermal paste of my CPU I accidentally yanked out the CPU with the cooler from the socket, As a result, some pins got bend. But, I used a needle to straiten those pins and It worked. It was few months ago, Back then I didn't face that problem. Is it possible maybe those pins aren't making proper contacts anyhow and making that problem? I am even getting some random 2-5 second freezes now in Firefox. Didn't try other things yet. Please help me out.

Ok I'm not really sure how to explain this but I'll give it a try. I recently got a new monitor Asus VG27QL1A IPS 170hZ 1440p. I have also a Asus VG27W same specs but a VA curved panel which I will now use as my secondary. After hooking them up next to each other I was delighted, until I booted up Apex. The resolution seems like it was outputting lower than 1440p (on both monitors) even though its set to native 1440p in windows and the game. Nothing changed in Nvidia Control Panel, everything is set to 1440p as normal. In game I'm noticing more jagged edges and grainy textures. The game settings are maxed out everything is set to high but the game looks worse than before. I play Apex a lot so I noticed it instantly. It runs fine in terms of FPS but what I have noticed is that my GPU (RTX 3080) is running about 10 degrees hotter than before. I don't think the monitor has much to do with it but that's when I started to notice the visual issues. I went back to the old monitor to compare and it now looks bad there too so I don't really know what happened. I also tried Apex on my 4k TV to see if the jagged edges were still there and yeah they where...even at 4K so I'm at a loss as to what happened... I also did a test on a few other games just to make sure it wasn't a specific Apex issue but they all now have the jaggies with the highest AA settings. I know some games have terrible AA which is fine I can deal with that its just all of a sudden all my games look bad... The jaggies (stair step effect) mostly seems to be happening around metallic or reflective edges in game. Certain textures, especially further away have a shimmering, grainy look to them also. I thought it might be a Nvidia driver issue so I went through the usual steps uninstalling with DDU in safe mode with no change. I also started fresh with a new install of windows with no luck... Can anyone shed some light on what's happening here? I don't usually post on forms so I'm happy to answer any more questions if I wasn't descriptive enough. Here are my PC Specs Ryzen 9 3900x, MSI RTX3080 Gaming x Trio Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200 MSI X570 Gaming WIFI Mobo Corsair CX750M Power supply I can post screenshots or videos as examples if needed, thanks!

Hi there, Recently I have been running into issues with my PC. Am not entirely sure if its the mobo but here's the rundown: The first issue is related to booting up my PC. On booting my pc, all the fans will ramp up to 100% but there will be no POST or beep. This issue can be worked around by unplugged the 4pin MOLEX cable which powers my Barrow Waterpump (Barrow 18W D5 Pump). The PC boots up just fine as long as the pump is disconnected, and later on ill replug it during windows boot. The Second issue is related to my temperatures detected by the motherboard on the monitoring chip ITE IT8688E. I have a weird issue whereby, when I put load on the CPU to generate some heat by running cinebench r20, my CPU temperature will go up to 80 degrees which causes my fans to ramp up to 100% in about 1 run of cinebench, then ill stop putting load on the CPU and just let it idle for a minute or two, the temperature stays rock steady at 80degress without going up or down. I placed my hand on the radiator and the fins are cold/warm to the touch (no where near 80degrees). After restarting my computer, it usually goes back to normal, temps will then show its back to the mid 40ish degrees and temps can be seen fluctuating. Hence this leads me to wonder is this an issue with the motherboard, or maybe the CPU. Specifications: Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 i Aorus Pro Wifi CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x Ram: G.Skill Trident Z neo 32gb GPU: Sapphire RX 570 PSU: Corsair SF 750 Water Pump: Barrow 18W D5 Pump Fans: 2x Corsair Static pressure fans & 2x Cooler master fans (running from a 4 way splitter from 1 motherboard header, Fan power draw shows total up to be around 1A)

Been on an MSI Unify X570, with Ryzen 93900x. I have been able to run at 4.4GHz on all cores. Stressed tested for 16 hour, and for multiple shorter runs ranging from minutes to hours. Everything was running well. Now when I do some benchmarks, like Cinebench R23, I have a failure around 4 and a half minutes. The system shuts down and restarts, or Cinebench will just shut down. I can run AIDA64 for hours and it is no problem. Any suggestions on what is going on, I am very new at this. Thanks Tim

PC Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x Cooler: Noctua NH-U12A Motherboard: Crosshair VIII Impact x570 GPU: RTX 3070 PSU: Corsair SF600 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 Mhz CL18 Secondary Storage: 1tb Samsung nVME, 500 Gb m.2 OS: Windows 10 BIOS Version: 2702 Hello! I am running into an issue with my new SFF build where immediately after sustained workloads, the PC will either freeze or completely turn off. I wasn't sure what the issues were at first so I tried different software to try to isolate it. I first started having this issue in games. I don't play any heavy titles, just Valorant and League of Legends, so I thought this behavior was very odd. I also had accidentally bent the CPU pins before, but bent them back. The CPU goes into the socket easily still but I know there's still a chance that it isn't working properly. My average temperature is ~35 degrees C idle and ~73 degrees C on load for my CPU and ~38 degrees C idle and ~76 degrees C on load for my GPU. At this point, I'm 60% sure it's the CPU and 40% sure its the PSU but I would like a second, third, fourth... and so on... opinion. Thanks in advanced! Steps Taken: cleared CMOS, ran at stock settings -- > freeze/shutdown heaven benchmark for 2 hours to isolate GPU --> No issues 3D Mark Time Spy benchmark --> No issue 3D Mark Stress test --> 99% and 98.8% --> immediately crashes after. Frozen screen/immediate shutdown Memtest86 --> No issue 0 errors Flashed most recent BIOS --> freezing/shutdown after sustained load Reinstalled windows --> freezing/shutdown after sustained load Rearranged fans in case --> freezing/shutdown after sustained load Unplugged and reseated power cables into motherboard --> freezing/shutdown after sustained load I have a 700W power supply coming in on Sunday so I hope that may fix the issue.

Okay, so I've been saving up for a new computer for a while. Gladly, I've made good friends with a buddy who owns his own online store for selling pc parts, so he was okay with order parts for me and building the pc for me. The build: Here (Except mine actually has a 1660TI) When I got the pc, I got Windows on it, update the BIOS, Windows 10, NVIDIA and Chipset drivers all to the newest versions I could find. So the system itself has a dual-fan CPU cooler (CoolerMaster MA610P) and 4 other system fans. I noticed the fans liked to go up and down, up and down when just sitting idle on the desktop. I got Ryzen Master and yeah, idle temps were around 49C-59C, sometimes spiking to 69C when I moved my mouse. I got worried, so I checked around the place for why this would happen. I tuned my smart fans in the bios, so they don't go up and down, which resolved the fan issue. I checked to make sure the cooler was properly installed and wasn't wobbily, all of that was fine. Then I talked to my friend and a few other smarter people about hardware and they said I should run some benchmarks. I downloaded Cinebench and ran it. In the first 8 seconds my CPU instantly maxes out at 95C and out of being scared that something can go south, I stopped the test. I played CSGO for a while, there I was averaging around 77C while playing.. bit weird, later I downloaded Heroes & Generals, there I only had 30% cpu usage in task manager, but managed to hit around 80-83C!!! That's when I instantly understood something is wrong. From all the info I read online, my cooler is a good chunk better than the stock, so knowing that the stock one is good enough, this one should be plenty. I think it shouldn't go over 85C even if my usage were to be around 80-90%. Core Temp also showed that I started to thermally throttle and lose speed when running Cinebench. Right now I honestly don't know what to do. I can't buy a different cooler, but I honestly have a feeling the chip may be the one at fault, since I've seen online other people using this combo and they're fine! Please help!

Hey Recently upgraded from my i5-6600 to a 3900x with a B550 Strix gaming board and as I booted up my pc i started seeing screentearing in-game. It mostly shows up in in-game cutscenes for some reason. Noticed it very clearly in both Witcher wild hunt as well as horizon zero dawn. Rolling with a RTX2070 and a 4k 60hz monitor. Was getting quite steady 60 fps without tears or artifacting before the change. 650 bronze 80 corsair PSU 16gb 3200mhz ram I've tried with gsync on/off. Vsync on/off. Played with different i game settings but nothing seems to fix. Tried to reinstall all kinds of drivers. Nothing Am I missing something obvious?

I'm honestly starting to get stumped by this issue. My partners computer has started to randomly CTD with no given error messages, this happens across multiple games, and they will randomly crash after a random amount of time EXCEPT One crashing at the exact same location. We are able to consistently replicate the crash in Microsoft Solitaire Collection at the exact same moment. The Computer specs are: ASUS X570 Prime-P Motherboard. AMD Ryzen 3900X CPU 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600MHz 2x16GB DDR4 1TB Samsung 970 EVO NVME Gigabyte GTX 1080 Corsair RM850i PSU We've tried swapping Graphics cards (to a MSI 1070). We've tried swapping RAM (to G-Skill 32gb) We're tried re-installing Windows, and taking out the NVME, using a fresh SSD (Non-NVME) and installing windows on that. We're tried updating the Bios The parts we have not yet tested are PSU, CPU, Motherboard. (Mainly because I don't have a spare AMD Motherboard or CPU at the moment) The Event Viewer gives the Event ID: 1000, and Exception Code: 0xc0000005 with Faulting Process ID: 0x2700 I'm honestly at a loss here, If it's persisting across a fresh windows install like this it most likely is hardware at this point right? Could it be Motherboard or CPU, if so what kind of issue could cause this? Honestly, I'd appreciate any ideas or help anyone can give.

Hi all, so I'm brand spanking new to the OC world. I recently bought a 420 AIO for my 3900x. I spent a whole night looking up OC guides and this is what I came up with after a night of testing and benchmarks. I am able to hit an all core of 4.3 at 1.305v. I was told that 1.3v was a safe starting voltage for 24/7 loads for zen 2. I just want to make sure 1.3 is confirmed to be a safe 24/7 OC voltage. I was able to complete multiple hour-long cinabench runs with no issues. My workflow is mainly just gaming and streaming so my CPU never gets anywhere near full load. Any advice and tips would be much appreciated.

I built a PC 6 months ago(july-august 2020). It has an rtx 2070 super, ryzen 9 3900x, asus prime x570 pro csm motherboard, 32 gigs of 3200 gskill trident z rgb and an 80+ gold antec 1000w psu. Since I don't care about sound levels, I have all my coolermaster 360ml radiator's 3 fans, gpu fans and 4 case fans at max speed. Randomly though, my PC's screen goes black, it is still running but no cursor or anything shows and the cpu and case fans ramp down. The cpu and case fans have been set to max in the bios. I don't have any overclocks on. How can I fix this problem

Guys.. I brought R9 3900X couple of days ago and after completing my assembly I monitored the CPU temp in HWmoniter and Ryzen Master. In PC stay in Idle it shows around 45-55 C and 100% load shows 90-95C temp in stock cooler. When I enter to my ASUS B450 TUF Gaming Plus bios the CPU temp Show 63 -67 C Is above scenario being ok or need to make changes? and any guidance for solve this problem?

(oh before we start yes I'm aware of the non-existent supplies of the 5600x but I can wait if it seems like the 5600x is better for me) I'm looking to get a CPU but trying to decide which would be better for my usage. I have the budget already set aside for either one. But I use my PC for mainly gaming, I have a 1440p ultrawide monitor...but when it comes to AAA single player, story focused games I play them on my Samsung 50inch 4K HDR TV(ex. Death Stranding, Watchdogs, Assassin Creed, and Cyberpunk). I don't play any eSport titles or competitive FPS(Fortnite, Call of Duty, CS) and I don't stream or content creation. I also work from home but nothing intense just having a web browser open and Microsoft apps. Soo with that knowledge my fellow IT wizards which would yall suggest, oh and below is my PC spec with notes: Aorus X570 Elite WiFi PCIe 4.0 G.SKILL Trident Z 32GB 3600MHz RTX 2070 Super (already have budget set aside to upgrade to either RTX 3080 or AMD 6900XT) Thermaltake Toughpower 750 W 80+ Gold Fyi: If it matters cpu will be water looped cooled.....i said that weird but I will leave it lol

I have new+used parts computer just built. But after few hours of use and of course some benchmarks I found there are too many crashes. This include Cinebench R20 sometimes just popup an error when I click RUN and fail to start benchmark. Sometimes after that popup I close and reopen it and it run, sometimes after I close popup I get blue screen and it have different error message, not always one and same. Other programs also sometimes just crash with or without some error they show up. I did full MemTest64 and no errors. But when I try Prime95 almost instantly I get error at Worker 20 (sometimes 2-3 sec after test start, sometimes up to a minute). Soon after Worker 19 usually also result an error. [Nov 21 03:10] Worker starting [Nov 21 03:10] Beginning a continuous self-test on your computer. [Nov 21 03:10] Please read stress.txt. Choose Test/Stop to end this test. [Nov 21 03:10] Test 1, 31000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M9537183 using FMA3 FFT length 480K, Pass1=384, Pass2=1280, clm=1. [Nov 21 03:10] FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 [Nov 21 03:11] Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file. [Nov 21 03:11] Torture Test completed 0 tests in 0 minutes - 1 errors, 0 warnings. [Nov 21 03:11] Worker stopped. After some experiments I found this: If I remove on of two RAM sticks - I don't get and error (at least at 2-3 min test, as it usually show up in first seconds). I did test both sticks one by one at all 4 slots and also in all combination of both sticks at once. Include in single channel mode. No matter how, if two sticks - error, if one - it works at any slot. No matter if at 2144Mhz or at XMP 3200MHz as advertised - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) 3200Mhz - brand new out of the box. My configuration: CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x (stock, no overclocking) - used, of course under 2 more years warranty MB: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max - brand new out of the box, BIOS not touched/default. No XMP, no overclocks, nothing, all default. Even reset just to be sure not touched before sent to me. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) 3200Mhz PSU: recommended at top of the list at LTT forum - Bitfenix Whisper Gold 750W - used, but was working fine so far, before moved to this system. VID: GTX 1060 3GB or ASUS EAH5450 (fanless, no power) - just to eliminate any doubts PSU can't power system with 1060 (while I am sure it is way above power needed for this system). So I need help, any advice what may case this crashes and wrong calculations (as they happen at important scientific software too). I can't locate which part to blame - is it RAM (new, works any stick independently, just not if both at once), MB failing to support both sticks (BIOS, power settings - they should work with default, right, why need to up volts for RAM on brand new MB), or CPU failing at dual channel ... so I have no idea which part to send for fixing or replacement under warranty - they are all from different online stores here in my country. Still - is it possible to be PSU - only part without warranty ... Problem is it was hard to get all this parts already, I have no way to get more to test - like other RAM sticks, other MB, other CPU of same kind, or even PSU (other one is very old 400W Seasonic - it will have no enough power to run tests also 4 pin MB instead of 6 pin B450 have). None of my friends have anything to help me test, by changing parts and try locate it this way. So I am limited with what I have and any software I can get. And hoping for my favorite Youtube LTT for help or at least any point/advice I can follow to locate issue. Other than just send all warranty parts to their stores and they find they are OK and I have to pay all deliveries + penalty for repair work/tests of perfect part. Cheers from Bulgaria!
