Hello! The UEFI menu resolution of my motherboard seems to be 1920x1080, or lower. I see no option to change that to 3840x2160, so the menu is looking a bit blurry. My build is: •Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master (rev. 1.0) - BIOS version F11. •Monitor: ViewSonic VP2768-4K (3849x2160p) - Connected through DisplayPort. •Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB). Question: Is there a way to make the UEFI (BIOS) menu hi-DPI?

Hello, I am looking for a 4k monitor 32" inch, for screen recording (to upload videos to youtube in 4k), video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and video games. I have an Nvidia Asus Rog RTX 3090 OC graphics card, but I don't have enough money to buy an ASUS PG32UQX monitor. I don't like 27" inch monitors (because they are too small). Kindly, can someone help me and suggest a valid alternative? I am from Italy. Thank you!

I'm looking at purchasing a new monitor in the next couple of weeks and I'm having trouble choosing a 27" 2560x1440 144 Hz monitor and a 28" 3840x2160 60 Hz monitor that can also do 1080p 144 Hz. About 3 months ago I got an Acer GN246HL and I was pissed to discover that it would only do 144 Hz with a dual-link DVI input (my 480 has no DVI output). I was happy with the quality of the TN panel though. My budget tops out around $500. I plan on using an overclocked 8 GB RX 480 and I plan on purchasing at least an 8 GB Vega card this year. 2560x1440 is about 77% more pixels than 1080 and shouldn't be crazy hard to drive. Plus it can do 144 Hz. Pretty straightforward. This MG278Q looks great with the stand that can do height adjust and pivot, but it's expensive enough I'd have to wait for a deal. Is there a 28" 3840x2160 monitor that does 120+ Hz at lower resolutions? What would you suggest? Or is there a 2560x1080 widescreen monitor that also does 144 Hz? If only I had so much money I didn't have to choose. Edit: Looks like the only 2560x1080 ultrawides that do 144 Hz are 34" or 35" which the wife says is too big.

I cant say, I have ever posted my own topic to a forum before. So I hope I am putting this post in the right place. I recently purchased a ROG Strix GL702VM Gaming Laptop in the 7700HQ series with the 1060GTX with 6GB of GDDR5. I upgraded the M.2 SSD to a Samsung PRO 960 M.2 NVMe 512GB and installed 32GB of HyperX Ram to give it more juice to work with. While I was upgrading these things I thought why not get a new monitor while I'm at it. I now have a shiny new ASUS PG27AQ UHD 4K IPS monitor. (Thanks to the video review Linus did on it) I wanted to utilise the Mini-DisplayPort on the laptop to drive the 4K monitor as it (and the Thunderbolt 3 port I think) is the only way to enable the G-Sync on the monitor. However when I connect the Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort 2m cable in, the only options I get for resolution are 1024x768 or 800x600 (Note: the cable was aftermarket and only $8 so it wouldn't surprise me if that is the issue but I want to make sure its nothing else before investing in yet another cable). I can get the monitor to work properly with a HDMI with resolution 1920x1080 at 60Hz or 3840x2160 at 24Hz. (And no G-Sync support) I would much prefer to utilise what I paid the $$$ for in the monitor but I cant seem to work out what the problem is. I have, - made sure the drivers are up to date - checked if it was a setting on the monitor - looked up to see if anyone else was having this issue with this monitor but all I keep getting are reviews on how good the monitor is rather than anyone having any display issues. - looked up the specifications on the Mini-DisplayPort on the laptop is capable of and it seems to support it, especially considering the laptop explains to you that G-Sync will only work via that port (and or Thunderbolt 3, again I think) - looked up on the GTX 1060 6GB to see if it is capable of driving such a monitor. The Nvidia website seems to only list up to the Titan X to support 4K but I do believe that list is out of date considering there is no way a GTX 1080 wouldn't support 4K, and as I mentioned earlier it will push the resolution via HDMI just at a terrible refresh rate. (And no G-Sync) - I also got my old portable optical drive out to spin up the CD the monitor came with, just in case there was some specific driver I needed to install on the computer but all it had on it was the Manual (which was zero help with this issue) and a outdated Nvidia Driver. - As a last ditch attempt to work it out, I factory reset the laptop as I didn't have much on it yet anyway and that still didn't fix the issue. I only have a few ideas on what it could be but I just don't know enough to make a proper decision. Coud it be, - the $8 cable is just terrible and I should get a better one? - the cable too long? It's 2m - 'Active DisplayPort Cable' issue? I remember way back when I used DisplayPort last time I had issues with this, could this be a similar issue? - I should be using a Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort cable instead Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I don't want $1350 worth of monitor to be wasted on HDMI 1980x1080 60Hz with no G-Sync.

Is a bigger monitor such as 32 inch compared to 27 inch better suited for 4k gaming and watching movies or is it just a personal preference? I would love to buy a 27 inch since I find the 30 inch a bit to big... But if the visual quality and feeling if you may feels better then I am unsure.. Thank you.

So in one years time from now I will be doing game programming which will include shaderprogramming and 3d computer graphics. Will a 4k display benefit me ? I have a 1080TI and i7 7700k I have realized that many forum members here tend to get 4k displays for video editing etc.

I am baffled with this gameplay. why can't the gpus get a solid 60fps or above on this game? Should the gpus be able to do this but the game is just bad or is it to much to require from the gpus?

So, I asked people on this forum about a medium budget 4k monitor 27". IPS panel and like 4-6ms response time. A lot of people told me that it's bad and it's not good optimized. I think it will be amazing. They said you need to sit super close to the screen and so on. Will I really be displeased with a 4k monitor? They recommended me to get a 1440p instead. I don't like that idea... The 4k resolution is 4k 2160p is way prettier than 1440p. I AM NOT CS:go player or serious gameplayer, I like mmo games and stuff that don't require 1ms. I just want beautiful colors and sick details for movies and games. Will I really hate THIS monitor!! https://www.komplett.se/product/900480/datorutrustning/kringutrustning/bildskarm/bildskarmar/dell-27-led-4k-p2715q?gclid=CjwKCAjwranNBRBhEiwASu908NugbOBoUhILURQzXSYNIu4HU24Rjjr3bv78caY7bshqa1fmyAG4_xoC43AQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CI3xr8n9htYCFdXFsgodjzoJog&gclid=CjwKCAjwranNBRBhEiwASu908NugbOBoUhILURQzXSYNIu4HU24Rjjr3bv78caY7bshqa1fmyAG4_xoC43AQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds# Please guys, tell me the truth. Don't come up with things that you are not certain about. This is a lot of money. Thanks.

Hi peeps, I would really like your opinions on which monitor to get: TLDR: 3440X1440 (with speakers) VS 32inch 4K (with speakers) vs 27inch 4k (with secondary 4k monitor) I run 980tis in SLI. I already have a Dell 2715Q which I love and a 27" 1440p monitor. So I'm happy with the 27" form factor but wouldn't mind a larger screen to watch films off of as I don't have a TV in my room. Dual monitor vs speakers I don't like the idea of having two monitors of different sizes so the Dell will have to go along with the catleap if I decide to get either the X34 or XB32 but I'll use the money to buy some nice bookshelf speakers (~$1000) In terms of initial price it goes, X34 > PG27AQ > XB32 here in Australia. However the Asus is actually cheaper once you factor in discounts and rebates. I would really like your opinions! I have consumed so many reviews and I almost bought the X32 today but got cold feet. I usually use dual monitors but as of late I've actually gone back to a single monitor instead. I like the idea of two monitors but I don't have the desk real estate for some premium speakers and two large monitors so It's one or the other. I have a nice pair of headphones so I'll only miss out in the sound department when watching films and maybe I don't get that awesome immersive experience of being able to game with sound just coming at you.

When I got my PC to replace by xbox, I bought a monitor, (a Samsung C24F390 to be exact), because my old monitor only supported VGA. Now lets go forward to yesterday, I looked at my display settings and saw 3840x2160 as a resolution, clicked onto it and set everyting at 100% text size. Titanfall 2 recognised it, and with the power of benchmarks there was a difference in performance of my 1060, so I ask this question, with th emonitor being advertised at 1920x1080p is it safe to run at 3840x2160, (and yes I know that this is a 4k standard resolution)

Source: https://www.techpowerup.com/254580/acer-unveils-predator-cg437kp-monitor-43-va-4k-144-hz-adaptive-sync-1000-nits I really am liking all these new 4K monitors coming out in these large sizes. I feel it makes 4K more useful and palpable. Though, the BFGD monitors are slightly too big and crazy expensive; the definition of overkill. Whereas, I feel this is slightly more reasonable @ 43-inches. I'm hoping within the next 2-3 years we will see reasonably priced video card solutions to power these monitors @ over 60 fps to make use of these higher refresh rates. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future, as it seems display tech is slightly ahead of the GPU power required to drive these displays.

Hello, which tv do you guys recommend that has good refresh rate, is an IPS monitor or however it works, I want the good colors you know Price can't be above 850-870 usd. Nothing with less than 80-100hz seems kinda boring if it has less. Let me know what you think thanks.

Hey guys I am using a 4k TV for my HTPC. In my PC I just have a cheap AMD 7850 and I am using an HDMI cable. With GPU scaling turned off I can select 3840x2160 but the image goes beyond the edges of the TV. If I turn on GPU scaling and scale to 4% to correctly align the image the max resolution I can select is only 1920x1080. How can I select 4k and have the scaling correct?

Hi, Due to some strange pricing in the UK I can get a 4k 60hz monitor for a very similar price to a 21:9 1080p monitor at 75hz both IPS panels with 5ms which I am fine with. Just wondering which you would recommend. Any responses welcome. Thanks!

Hi, As the title suggests, I'm looking for a new monitor and am trying to decide among these resolutions/refresh rates. I'll be upgrading from a 2560x1440, 60Hz monitor. I'm running an i7 5820K and a pair of GTX 980 TI's in SLI. I'm aiming at playing games at max settings with at least 2X MSAA or SMAA and a stable 60FPS. I've narrowed down my choices to the following monitors based on specs and aesthetics: Asus PB279Q (4K, 60Hz) or PG27AQ (4k, 60Hz, Gsync) LG 34UC87 (3440x1440, 60Hz) Asus PG279Q (2560x1440, 165Hz, Gsync) Keep in mind that I've crossed the Acer Predator X34 off the list because I don't like its 'gamery' aesthetic. I'm leaning a little more toward 3440x1440 but I'm a little hesitant because I'm worried about the 21:9 aspect ratio and I watch a lot of movies and TV shows. As for 4K, I'm worried about performance as the scaling doesn't look great on the benchmarks I've seen and I'm aiming for a stable 60FPS. I'm not sure about 1440p 165Hz because I've always prioritized higher resolutions over frame rate when making an upgrade and am not quite sure I'm ready to make that jump to 144hz+. Which of these monitors do you personally prefer and why? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have never used a monitor above 1080p. I'm currently using an Asus MX279H, it's a 27 inch, 5ms, 1080p, ips screen. I really want to get a 4K screen and am currently looking at the Dell P2415Q as the most likely option. What are the pros/cons of 4K? I know scaling in windows will be picky. I'm also wondering how good it will look if I'm running games in 1080p because there's no way I'll be able to play many at 4K. Would it be better to get a really nice 1440p screen instead, bearing in mind I also do graphic design work?

greetings im gonna buy a 4k display in the near future, but i dont know witch one i have a dell U3011 now i've been looking at these two http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.PB0AA.001 - acer xb280hk and http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/philips_bdm4065uc.htm - philips bdm4065uc ill be pc gaming, ps3 gaming, watching movies, surfing and so on (everything really) power'd by 5930k/16gb ram/ gtx 980 sli its basicly a choise between 28" g-sync or 40" without g-sync so with 2x 980s do i really need g-sync? thanks

Hey Guys I found the Acer K242HQKbmjdp (24", 3840x2160, ips) monitor on Amazon and it looks amazing. The only problem is that nobody on this planet reviewed it or wrote about his/her experience with it. I only found one not really satisfying review that mentions stuff like input latency. I'm really interested in that panel and now wonder if someone owning that particular panel could tell me what it's like and if it's worth it.

Alright guys I am totally undecided what to do here, I want to play games in 4K as I have a 4K monitor.. I currently have a MSI GTX980 Twin Frozr V, I've owned it since November 2014. I was thinking (before 980TI came out..) about selling the GTX980 in favour of a pair of GTX970's, But now the 980TI is a thing should I just sell the 980 for as much as I can get then buy a 980TI? The 980TI's are about £550 - £575 here in the UK, My MSI GTX980 cost me £450 in November. I recon I could get about £400 for my MSI 980 currently as it's still spotless, Dust free and boxed with everything including all the protective stickers. Never been overclocked or pushed too hard and always ran cool with a warranty till November 2016. New they are currently about £450-480. I'm also at the same time tempted to just sell it while the price is still where it is and wait with my money while AMD's new stuff comes out? What do you guys think and what would you do in this situation? Thanks.
