Hey all, So i tried to upgrade to the RE-Live drivers but every time i do,whether it be by DDU or the installer,it crashes every 5 minutes to a black screen and with it saying "wattman has crashed" when it recovers.. Im starting to think its my PSU, a (hastily bought without thought) FSP Hyper 500. I realised last week that it doesnt have enough headroom to overclock nearly at all. Could this PSU be causing the crashes? Im thinking about getting the corsair cx650m grey unit to replace it,but idk. Specs : MSI R9 380 4GB I5-4690K HyperX 2x4GB Kit FSP Hyper 500 PSU

So I decided to sell my PS4 and gpu, my ps4 sold within a day of me posting the ad on Kijiji. I listed my gpu ( R9 380x ) for 275 cad, and I had only one offer for 200. Should I look to sell it on eBay? Or Amazon? Or is there somewhere better to sell used GPU's?

I recently bought a secondhand Sapphire Nitro R9 380. My computer stuck at BIOS with code 5A at the bottom right of the screen. My processor is Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, motherboard Intel DX38BT, and Excel 500WCE PSU. The computer works fine when I used AMD Radeon HD 6850. Anyone have a suggestion?

Alright guys and gals, I am ready to take the home server plunge! I am just about to order my server and start the process. SO here is a quick breakdown of the build plans 1. Get server 2. Move networking gear into same room as server 3. Setup server with battery backup, etc. 4. Install OS, and programs 5. Setup my raid To start I am going to base the server off of this one on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/132880014310?ul_noapp=true They have an option to configure the listing below so I am gonna call tomorrow morning and change a few things After the server is ordered I need to get a third WD Red to make my Raid array for the server (This is to start, will most likely go bigger in the future) Will make a new post tomorrow after I have a server ordered

Earlier today I was playing Overwatch and realized my gpu was up to 95°C so I checked my openhardwaremonitor and it said my fans were on 50% but I couldn't hear them so I checked my gpu fans, I then proceeded to reinstall AMD settings with ddu and used wattman to try and control the fans and even with manual control the fans wouldn't spin, it wouldn't on automatic either while the gpu was up to 90°c. Is my fan dead? Can I do anything about this?

I have a AMD 380x nitro and it will randomly spin fans up to 100% about 10sec to 1min before the system just Turns off. (Black screen Desktop off) It is completely unstable when given more power or playing with the overclock setting any ideas? the temp will read 0*C sometimes and on boot sometime the fans start @ 100% and will have to be menualy tuned down in settings. Specs CPU: AMD FX 8320 (Corsair h100i cooler) Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 Bios 1603 version GPU: 380X nitro PSU: Courger 1000W gold Tryed Cleaning PCI slot and card pins Reinstall of AMD drivers (clean Install) Reinstall of windows to make sure.

Hi I'm new to the whole pc building. I got a budget build that consists of mainly a FX 6300 CPU and a R9 380 GPU. For the past two weeks I've been experiencing constant freezing or crashing. I can hear programs operating in the back and can even move my mouse in game but the game itself is frozen and I can't do anything like ALT + TAB out. The game I mainly play is League of Legends and the freezing generally lasts for about 30 seconds with the Crimson Edition 15.11.1 Beta. It used to be worse with the most up to date Catalyst Driver which would force me to just completely restart my PC. The freezing happens in just about any game I play, Overwatch, Diablo 3, WoW, etc. Even Youtube freezes at some points and it just makes my recent purchase of this card to be completely miserable. I can provide PC Specs, logs, or temperatures if needed but you'll have to have some patience because like I said I'm new to this sort of thing.

Well I am a Chinese student and I've searched this question in Chinese forums...But no relative answer .the cold-type composition(?) in not flexible enough to fit in the 120mm fan area in the back of case. The board above stick one end of the xxx(actually I don't know how to say it in English...Just look at the pic...),I saw similar promblem in Corsair official forum, but a official list says 380t is able to install all 120mm corsair water-cooling.

Hello there, I have been experiencing many issues with my GPU and its becoming increasingly stressful when i come to play newer titles like Far Cry Primal and XCOM 2. The problem is that my game freezes for 5 seconds then i black screen with sound looping in the background then a message from my monitor saying "No Source". The company i have bought from is Novatech(.co.uk) and i have emailed them twice with a response saying that it is because of my PSU is not sufficient to run the card however on Power consumption calculators say that i need a 600W power supply to run my whole rig and i have 650W power supply. So now im wondering if its a faulty issue! can anyone back me up to think that is just a faulty GPU or is it genuinly a Power Supply issue because its either i buy a £110 850W power supply or i can get a refund and get a XFX DD R9 380 as replacement somewhere else that seems more reliable. Please help Much Thanks, James

Ive put the g2 650w for future upgrade-ability, 390 maybe, unless something better for the price comes out. Z170 board, i know its a locked cpu but i will eventually upgrade to a 6700k or whatever other cpu is higher end on the same socket. An SSD will be added when i have some spare money. I will be using it for Gaming/Photoshop and possibly premier pro cc. Ok, so basically title. Which combo should I get? No poll because I want opinions, not votes. Uses are gaming, some editing, and a little rendering. Also, don't try to convince me to go for one GPU or the other in a combo unless you are going to factor in CUDA and whatnot.

Hi i just bought a new computer with an r9 380 and a 6600k and following my amazement by the fact that Csgo and League were running at 300 fps+ i heard some really strange sounds from my graphics card at these high fps numbers. I am using amd free sync therefore i dont want to limit my fps below 200. Does anyone else have a similiar problem with that card or a diffrent one?

Hey guys Recently my new Pc arrived and I had some problems with the gpu . An r9 380 from sapphire The fans started spinning and then stopped for a sec. I thought it was the PSU so I changed the VS650 to a Seasonic S12II 620W Now,i built everything, set it up and it still does the same as it did before. The gpu fans start spinning and then stop after 2 sec and I get no signal. Here are the parts http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VKYpxr The mobo has ez debug leds and the vga led is turning on what can I do?

I'm considering the following graphics cards for a future rig, to be built around October this year: MSI R9 380 GAMING 4G and a Sapphire NITRO R9 380X 4GB Dual-X OC 11250-01-20G Is there a big difference? They are both around 240 dollars on amazon and I will be probably running them on a FX 8350. I was also considering a gtx 960. Here are the links for them: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-R9-380-GAMING-4G/dp/B00ZPOBI0M/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1458592268&sr=1-4&keywords=r9+380 http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-DL-DVI-D-Graphics-11250-01-20G/dp/B017WMD8ZM Thanks!

Does anyone have recommendations for what is the quietest GPU vendor? I am looking for an AMD card because Nvidia is a pile of bs when it come to Linux (to quote Torvolds himself "Fudge you Nvidia!") and I intent to fully have migrated to nixos by summer! (Selling EVGA 960 4gb) but I need the quietest vendor (probably looking to get either an r9 380 or r9 380x (4gb)), I want silence because my rig without GPU is literally unaudible, even without headphones! I would however like an all-black gpu as the rest of my rig is all black as well! (unfortunetely that rules out MSI). Basically silence is more important to me than temps! Edit: will be using open driver, sorry should have specified (hence amd):P

I am overclocking an R9 380 from Sapphire using the Sapphire Strixx Overcloking utility. I was wondering how save the voltage adjustment in to top center is and how far is considered safe. (not power limit. This lets me change the voltage in mV increments.)

I cant find any help with windows 10 PCI to PCI error code 12. I have done about everything I can find but no luck. I am trying to add a R9 380 fury to my rig but it wont detect saying This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. I have disabled everything but nothing. put in my Radeon HD 5770 and it works fine. wiped my system reinstalled windows 7 and still no luck upgraded to windows 10 again and no. No updates for bios made sure all settings are right ( have an MSI 870A-54 16gb ram 2 optical drive 2 ssd 120gb.) I know my board is old and I am getting new parts but would like to figure this out to donate to my brother. Thank you Jacob setup.txt conflicts.txt

Hello guys! So I know there is a million post about the 960vs R9 380 around the internet, but none of that answered my true question. I'm plannig to buy a new graphics card that replaces my old friend GTX550Ti and I cant decide. I do seen a lot of performance and FPS test both of this cards and that 5-10 FPS is not really a big deal for me but I have some questions about, basically the good old AMD vs NVIDIA thing. I'd like to say I don't want to look like a fanboy, I found pros & cons about each card. So first of all, in the past 8-10 years I had a lot of problems with AMD things. I HATE THEIR DRIVERS.... I never had so much struggle with anything like those Cataclyst (sm) drivers. I mean you had to find a driver for like each games you wanted to play because each one was optimized for another... that was so annoying, and also a lot of my friends changed to NVDIA because of this. The reason why I'm talkin in past tense, I don't really know is that still an issue or not. Their getting better with drivers or it's about the same? I really don't want to struggle with those again and I read a couple of worrisome news about drivers that actually killed some AMD cards because they accidentaly turned off the fans on the card. And allso I never seen an NVDIA card failing in my envrionment but I had an AMD card that failed on me, and I watched with my friend when his (Sapphire) HD6570's memorychips slowly and painfully died. In the other hand I don't really like NVIDIA's agressive marketing and they just want to monopolizing the market. The Geforce experince is a crap, I hate it, however the drivers were allways fine for me and they do care a lot about optimizing a driver for an actual new game and at the same time you don't have to switch back to a 2 year old driver for an older game. So there's a bitter taste in my mouth about switching back to AMD but as I mentioned I don't want to be a fanboy and I'm open for starting over with the red side, if they do it better now. Also like that the R9 380 have 256bit bandwith insted of 960's 128bit. I found it an important thing. But allso the 960 has CUDA and PhysX. I allso noticed that I play more games that has "the NVIDIA" logo, so I don't know can it be a problem for me. I remember when I had to find somehow a physx.dll that wasn't caused BSOD.... Now summarizing those things, what do you say, should I switch back to AMD happily or NVIDIA still a reliable and much "painless" solution for me? Thank you !

Well as the title says I can not decide on either one of those. The two options i have are: - PowerColor PCS+ (Tripple Fan Solution ) r9 290 4 GB - r9 380 Nitro 4 GB Also what is a good mid-range modular PSU that will go with those cards , assuming i have an i7 locked CPU.

Hello, so i'm building a Budget Gaming PC for the first time and i've bought most of my parts - Msi B85 G43 Gaming Mother Board. - Intel Pentium G3258 - 500GB HDD Seagate - CX500M PSU Any way i need help picking out a Graphics Card. Im in about the $100-250 USD Range. i have looked at the R9 380x and a GTX 960. i also have heard the rumors of the GTX 960TI i just figured this forum was the best way to get some answers on what i should pick. if you do any research on the Mobo you would no that the B85 G43 is a Cross Fire only board and that a 280x is a 250Watt GPU and if i plan on buying another 280x in the future i would have to upgrade my Psu which i dont want to do so thats why i have looked at the R9 380 and the 380x Also i was wondering if MSI makes a 380x because my setup is mostly Black and red Right now.

Which is the better choice considering the following: 1. I care about my electricity builds. 2. I live in the UK and the r9 380 is £10 more 3. I might get into blender so might want GPU accelerated renders. 4. I play CSGO 5. I play X-Plane 6. I use Autocad 7. Might get an Nvidia shield in the future if I were to get a 960 I know the r9 380 is better value but it doesn't support CUDA so what is the best GPU for my case. EDIT: I am getting the 4gb one in either case.

I'm building my first pc and i can't decide between the 380 and the 380x. It seems like they're so similar in performance the extra cost for the 380x isn't worth it. I'm trying to stay as close to $190ish as possible. Thanks.

Hello everyone. Im new here and i plan on building a budget pc. My gpu cards would be either r9 380 or r7 370 or even 360. I do not have specified budget yet and i wanna know how would these cpu perform with r9 380. Im most interested about 860k and i do not know if it will bottleneck r9 380.
