Heya! Looking for some tips on a GPU for 3440x1440 gaming. It's music production first, gaming second - hence the 13600K over AMD, and DDR5 ram (matters a lot for DAW/DSP). Got a 10% discount code (expires 1. jan). Want something sooner rather than later. Used IGPU for 3-4 months already, and black friday had real 0 deals on GPUs this year. Specs 13600K (undervolted, 130w @ 97-98% of original performance) 32GB DDR5 6000mt (36/36/36/86) MSI B760 Tomahawk (ordered PC parts on cellphone, didn't do enough research , will swap to z690/z790 potentially if overclocking becomes necessary) Corsair RM850E (850W PSU) WDBlack NVME 1TB 7.3/6.3 gb/s + 500GB 5/5 gb/s for Os Factors For Purchase Power efficient (power is expensive here, especially during winter... 300%+ increase at the worst) 60+ fps (preferably more) in GPU heavy titles Low noise / heat Between $700 and $1400 Preferably more than 16GB Vram Mixed Settings + Upscaling is fine RT is nice to have, not a selling point for me Prices (pre discount code) 7800 XT / 6950 XT - $655 (in stock) 7900 XT - $1058 (4-6 week waiting time) 7900 XTX - $1292 (in stock) 4070 TI - $1012 (in stock) Really struggling to make a decision here, as they all give great performance. I'd rather get something a bit more expensive, get less in power cost and upgrade in 4-5 years. So to wrap it all up, my question is this: Do you play at this resolution and have any of these cards? What's been your experience? What would you choose if you were purchasing at this point in time, at these price points? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

If anyone owns 27inch 2K(2560x1440) monitor and 34inch ultrawide curved (3440x1440), I would be really thankful if you could tell me these things: 1) Is 34 one better for productivity use (programming mainly)? 2) When you compare both on 100%scaling, are the icons and text smaller on ultrawide or is it same as on 27 or maybe bigger? 3) How much is 27 one taller? 4) Which one do you like more? 5) What models of both do you have? Would be great if there is anyone who can compare me this, currently been having 27 2K for few years, and thinking of making a transition to ultrawide 34inch. Any photo comparison would be good to see also.

Hi, Recently new monitor is available in my local store, its new brand, never heard of except for the phones they produce but it has really good specs for the price Samsung VA Panel 3440x1440 ultrawide 21:9 Curved 121% sRGB 144hz Freesync Premium its priced at around 480USD which is cheap compared to other premium brands like LG which are priced at 800+ $ in my country. I didnt find many pro reviews except hardware unboxed, its behind the competition when it comes to G2G and other specs. But I want personal opinion, is it worth it for casual gamer with mixed online and offline games?

Hi, As I am in the market for a new monitor and seeing as the best displays are a little on the pricier side I have been quietly been awaiting the release of new panels and models. Recently the following model caught my eye. https://www.lg.com/jp/monitor/lg-34wp60c-b This seem to be a new model from LG, an ultrawide with a VA panel and with an impressive refreshrate for the price. Currently it is going for 57000 JPY which is around 500 USD. I noticed the gtg is at 5ms which is not great, but overall at a glance. taking the makers marketing info as the only input, it seems like a steal? The brightness seem to be at 300 nits as well which may be a little low? considering HDR etc. I haven't found any critical reviews of the display beyond unboxings. Any input would be very helpful. Perhaps the display has a different product code outside of Japan *note: I live in Japan*

I am reaching out to see if its just my GPU card that cant handle todays games in 3440x1440? Or if my nvidia panel settings need some tweaking? Games i currently play are (Destiny 2, The division 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, New World and Battlefeild 2042.) I have to crank the graphics down to about medium on all games to get even 60 fps running on my new aoc 34 inch 3440X1440! Some games like (new world) i understand are poorly optimized but i get under 60fps in that game! Yes i use the nvidia global settings for tweaks and i also use geforce to keep the card updated! I would love to upgrade to a new card but sadly i cant find anything! so im looking to get some help with something maybe i can tweak? thanks in advance! ( i attached a look with open hardware when my pc is idle!)

Hi, I never used VA panel, alaways been on IPS. Long story short, do you recommend the Samsung Ultrawide G5 3440x1440? Smeering, ghosting...etc? I have LG 27GL850 IPS 144hz 2K, but i really want an affordable Ultrawide wide PS: no other options available in my country. Thanks

Hey lads and gals, So a few weeks ago I finally bought a 1440p ultrawide and have now run into a problem I experienced before. Apparently, the text in some applications becomes extremely blurry when Windows text and UI scaling is set to 125%, the easy solution to this problem on my laptop was to set a custom scale factor at 124% or 126%. My problem now is that I'm using my old 1080p monitor as a second display and its UI gets zoomed in beyond reason since that custom scale factor gets applied to ALL monitors. Solutions I found: -Manually changing high DPI settings for each blurry app to Application controlled. -Going somewhere in the middle with the custom scale factor, for example, 112% for me personally. -Getting another 1440p display. (I borrowed one from a friend to test this, but buying another 1440p monitor just so my text isn't blurry and my UI blown is too expensive of an option for me) Solution that maybe works?: Within the options of the NVIDIA Control Panel under the Manage 3D settings, I found an option named DSR - Factors also know as Dynamic Super Resolution, setting this to 1.78x allowed me to make Windows think my second monitor is running 1440p? (not entirely sure how this works) I also set DSR - Smoothness to 27% as 33% seemed a bit too blurry to me. I was now able to set a custom scale factor of 124% and the UI isn't blown up anymore and the before mentioned blurry looking text in some apps is gone. I also noticed that within the Windows Display Settings the Rearrange your displays thing now showed my monitors being the same size instead of a small and big box. nice little extra I guess because now I get a seamless transition between the displays instead of an invisible wall at the top and bottom. Update 4/23/2021: I installed XPExplorer - Windows 10 DPI Fix and set it to Use Windows 8.1 DPI Scaling, with this now enabled and the DPI Scale: at 125% everything looks sharp, i orignally didn't use this fix as it would zoom in my second monitors UI. but now that I combined it with the above mentioned DSR I have the right desktop icon size, no blurry text, and correct scaling on my UI. If there is a way to set a custom scale factor per display instead of globally or an entirely different solution please tell me below, this entire thing is pretty annoying and i prefer a proper solution but so far haven't found anything that works well. Pictures showing the problem Pictures showing solution using (DSR)

Hi, 3840x1600 - 38" 3440x1440 - 34" Do you guys have any experience with monitors of these resolutions? Which would you recommend for me if I have purely gaming intentions? I wonder if the 38" monitor isn't way too big. I am planning to pair either RTX 3080 or 3080 Ti with the monitor. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Everyone, After taking a break from gaming for 18 months, I’ve decided to get back into it just before my country went into the nationwide lock down. But this time, due to lack of time to source the parts I needed and for the sake of experiment, I went with a Gaming Laptop instead of building a rig. I got myself an Asus TUF FX505DU which came with GTX1660 ti GPU. I must say, I am quiet impressed with its performance and value for money I got for it. Given that it is a budget gaming laptop, it only comes with a single HDMI 2.0 port. I still have my old ASUS 27” 144 Hz monitor from 2012. Though it is still doing “Okay”, I feel it is time to upgrade the monitor to an Ultra-wide curve monitor. And I have been looking at AOC CU34G2X 34” QHD VA monitor. Again, bangs for your bucks and very review I’ve seen so far has been very good. So my question is as thus: will my laptop with GTX1660 ti and HDMI 2.0 supports 3440x1440 resolution which this monitor comes with by default? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative? Thank in you all in advance for any comments.

Hello team, The moment I introduced myself to the basic LG Ultrawide, I began my search for the best ultrawides and I have been going on a consistent loop reviewing all the 3440x1440 ultrawides and honestly need some help. I have been trying to best understand the differences between IPS and VA as well as GSync. Then different models between all these ultrawides from ACER / ASUS, now Samsung and soon to be HP. My main concerns are ghosting (saw a complaint about it on a BenQ 1080 ultrawide (but supposedly was due to being at 200hz?)), backlight issues (I am seeing so many complaints about this on the ASUS/Acer monitors but seems to be the norm with IPS?), and I guess proper colors?. Monitors I have been looking over: Acer Predator x34 (Gsync) *IPS* Asus ROG PG348Q (Gsync) *IPS* Samsung CF791 (Freesync, so can't use it) *VA* HP Omen X (ETA: March 2017, GSync) *VA* Uses for this monitor: 70% Gaming (50/50 : Comp/Casual) but not exactly at tournament level so the loss of the 44hz is not the end of the world. I hit 4k in Comp for Overwatch (then just stopped playing altogether) and before that, LEM for CSGO. 20% Movies/Netflix 10% Production (photoshop and a little AE/PP) TL:DR: I'm basically looking for some insight between these 4 or if maybe there's another I have not mentioned? I have been overwhelming myself with information between all of these that I just need to start asking questions and get some insight. My GPU is an ASUS GTX 1080 (Single) 1) Since I'm already at the $1k range, I may as well get Gsync, right? (Feel like this is a yes) - aka do not buy the Samsung? I've never experienced GSync, is it really that amazing as some people make it out to be? 2) Given the uses for the monitor, should I lean towards a VA panel? assuming the previous question is a yes, lean to the HP? 3) I'm given to understand color reproduction is amazing on the IPS panels but is it the end of the world compared to VA? 4) Given the 4 monitors I have listed, which would you recommend? Is there a different monitor I don't know about?

I'm looking for a Monitor Arm for my Acer Predator X34 that I had just purchased at Nebraska Furniture Market (For those outside of the cities they are located, they are basically IKEAs). I've been trying to search for the mounts/arms online and all I'm getting are mounts/arms for 27" monitors. I'm looking to spend a max of $75 on the mount/arm

Hello, I was looking to upgrade my monitor and I was also thinking of finally going ultrawide. I want to perhaps get a 34 inch ultrawide at 3440x1440p 60Hz. What is the cheapest monitor I could get on amazon USA? How cheap could I go while still having a monitor from a reputable brand like Dell or LG? I already have seen the LG 34UC87M-B (first link) and the Dell U3415W PXF79 (second link). Could I go any cheaper on the monitor without losing the resolution and size? Thanks in advance for any recommendations you can make. https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-34UC87M-B-34-Inch-LED-lit/dp/B00R59BONQ/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1487392206&sr=1-10&keywords=34+inch+monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PXYRMPE/ref=psdc_1292115011_t2_B00TWIE2SM?th=1

Hi Linus, I am new member on this forum and can't find a suggestion on your channel youtube. I just bought a new ultra wide monitor 34 inch with screen resolution 3440x1440. I really like your channel and watching with full screen but I hate black bars. Could you upgrade your newest videos before upload to youbute. Youtube does work 21:9 ratios. Thank you very much. Have good day.

Hello guys, since i am looking to buy a 21:9, 3440x1440 100Hz Monitor in the near future, a want a system that can keep up with that. I am mostly going to play League and Overwatch. I know they do not support 21:9 as perfect as other new games, but with a new/upgraded system and a new monitor i will for sure try out some of the latest games as well. First of, the parts i wanna keep anyways: Stormtrooper case, 750 Watt something corsair PSU, 250GB Samsung SSD Current Build: Asus M4A87TD EVO AMD Phenom II X6 1090T AMD Radeon HD 6770 Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 C9 2x4GB I had in mind to replace all this for quite some time, but just for gaming it may be an option to just swap out the graphics card. Below is a comparison of what i would buy and could afford with a complete replacement, and the other option to just replace the graphics card. Note that if i go for the second option, i would spend more on the graphics card and even get an 1080 Ti. Therefore the first option would be around 1200€ and the second probably 700€. http://www.userbenchmark.com/PCBuilder/Custom/S51320-M247488.137575.19728.89317vsS3705-M417.251565.19175.89203?tab=CPU So what do you guys think? Would the second option work with the monitor and the games i have in mind for like ... a year until i upgrade everything else? Since resent games have better support for multiple cores, i feel like my current CPU wont even bottleneck me that hard on 1440p with a high end GPU... Sidequestion: I have a Corsair Closed loop liquid cooler for the Phenom II with a 120x120 radiator, any chance a can somehow custom hobobobo this on a ryzen 7? (I am willing and skilled to put in some modding effort) PS.: I know the 7700K is a better option for gaming right now, but i would prefer the Ryzen 7 for other (far) future side projects i have in mind

Well, is it? My current monitor is a samsung s27d850t btw. I know my 1080ti is probably overkill for my current setup which is why I'm asking. A good friend of mine suggests my only true 'upgrade' at this point is going 4K or high hz 3440x1440. Which leads me to my next question: is GSync and high refresh rates worth the hype? Games that I play/will be playing once they release Quake Champions BF1 The Witcher 3 WoW (Currently spend the most time playing this game) Destiny 2 CoD WW2

Hello everyone! This is my first post so sorry if I make a mistake! My problem is I don't know if the GPU I want (GTX 1080ti) is able to run the monitors I wish to have! (LG 34UM88C 34) Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01D7OZQ18/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=25BTNHNMSVC3&coliid=I27NPF5Y3PYAEB Do you guys think that 1 GTX 1080ti would be able to run 2 of these LG monitors? If not its not the end of the world I'll figure something out Thanks for the help in advance!

A $1000 just for AA? (GTA 5 on 3440x1440, 970 vs 1080 Ti)
MysticLTT posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I've been waiting to give GTA V a good playthrough. The monitor is 3440x1440 60hz and to my surprise, a well overclocked GTX 970 allows me to run it at 50-60fps on most setting set to Very High with FXAA. The quality of the image is good, however, given the nature of FXAA, there are some annoying bits of jagging and shimmering going on. Turning on x4 MSAA and TXAA cuts the FPS in half (and still has some shimmering). At this point, I'm trying to convince myself that AA is not important, so I don't just run to a store and spend CAD$1200 on a STRIX 1080 Ti, please save me from that. The reason why I still keep my GTX 970, is because I'm only planning to play these games in a near future, and that card is just enough for that on a 60hz monitor: Metro Last Light GTA V STALKER series Dishonored Bioshock Infinite Bad Company 2 -

Hello everyone! I see a lot of questions, here and elsewhere, about ultrawide monitors, so I'm here trying to help some of you out there, who are about to change to a new monitor, and saw Linus's U_L_T_R_A_W_I_D_E passion. I myself tried several Ultrawide (21:9, from now on UW) displays as well as Regular ones (16:9). Let me write down some myths and fact about the UWs, and at the end of this post, hopefully you will be ready to choose your monitor. Is gaming in Ultrawide allways better? Ultrawide for ultra-productivity? Best for content creation? I know most of whom will read this will be gamers, and I'd like to make a chart whether your card or planned card will be able to run a game. For this purpose, I created a google Doc, where I SUBMITTED some answer from the green side, and I ask everyone reading and has some information, to add it. I hope I could help.
