Planning to buy a Ryzen 3100 or if I get lucky a 3300x. But I am having second thoughts if having either of these processors are safe and suitable for the motherboard I currently have. And the motherboard is the MSI A320 A Pro. Will it be stable for games and multitasking? Thanks.

Using the Ryzen Master right now and it shows that on default my 3300x is at 0,83125V, isn't it supposed to be at like over 1.2V? When I manually set it at 1V and all I hear is trrrrrrrrrr and the computer freezes until I restart it. Why? My base clock is at 3.8Ghz I'm not sure if I really need more so I would leave it at that, since at Auto OC it goes to 47C idle instead of 29C when its on default and I always like when I keep my parts healthy and not too much power consuming. So what voltage should I set it to or shall I leave it as AMD decided it should be?

So im thinking of buying a new pc this year maybe somewhere in February. I have a very strict budget. this is the build: graphics card: rtx 2060 motherboard: MSI A520 ATX ram: 2 sticks of PNY 3200mhz 8 gig storage: I already have a good amount of storage in my old pc so i'll be using that (will buy ssd later) all of this acculating to 712(3300x) to 730(3500x) USD i can't figure out which cpu i should choose so i came here for some help. The place im buying this pc from has the 3500x priced at 141 USD and the 3300x at 158 USD. I play alot of games and Im a 3D artist so i render alot of things. Im hoping someone can help me with this, thanks in advance! for anyone wondering, this is my current pc: intel core two duo(3ghz) nvidia gt610 ddr3 2 8 gigs or ram i have no idea what the motherboard is

Since there is so much discussion on what the safe voltages for ryzen are i decided to do a test of my own. i set everything to auto on the bios and used only ryzen master to control, ran at stock where the voltages are 1.388 for all core with 4.25ghz, 1.25v for 4.55ghz and 1.325v for 4.6ghz btw i was using OBS to record so the result are quite lower than real 4.6 i get 2820~ here is the youtube video for you guys, just to give some proof dont care about my channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuszq_FLiO8 Results without recording https://ibb.co/G5dHMXV

I've been saving up for a while now and I can finally afford a decent build, however I'm not sure which CPU to pick. So my choice is between the Ryzen 3 3300X and Ryzen 5 1600 AF. I'm not sure which one to pick since they each have their own advantages so I would like a second opinion on what to choose. I'll be using it for gaming (GTA5, DOOM, some newer AAA games if I can), Blender and possibly After Effects so it needs to be able to handle itself good enough. However every comparison video I have seen only tests the 2 CPUs for gaming and completely ignore the productivity side which I'm a bit more interested in. It will be paired with a GTX 1060 3gb for now Also I see a lot of people saying that the 3300X is only good for now and the 1600AF is the better choice for the future, is that true? I wouldn't want to buy a "slower" CPU hoping for it to get better only for it not to.

building system soon (i hope). going to use 3300x most likely. gtx 1650 super. 500gb-1tb m.2 nvme ssd for all storage, don't think i'll need more than that. want wifi because room doesn't have ethernet yet. bluetooth as well. i'm new to pc's so don't understand much of the spec listings to help figure out which board to get. working with a tight budget. any tips tricks or specific board suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Want to get my first pc built soon as possible and get the most performance for dollar. Hope to get a long lifespan out of it. My head is spinning trying to figure out what motherboard to use. Will be using gtx 1650 super, don't know if that makes any difference.

Okay, so the ryzen 3300x seems like a very good cpu for its price. But there is a catch, in India (where I live) there is another cpu at almost the same price ($10 cheaper) called the ryzen 5 3500. (Just to clarify NOT the 3600, 3500X, or the 3500u) Now things get really interesting here, the 3500 for those unaware is a 6 cores and 6 threads cpu. (No hyperthreading) The base clock is 3.6 GHz and can be boosted to 4.1. It was launched in Q4 2019, so quite recent. Now choosing one of the two, 3300x or 3500 is becoming a big dilemma. Since 3500 isnt worldwide, there are not many references i can get, but the few that i got suggested them to be almost equal in fps for diff games. But is it worth getting a 4C 8T cpu in 2020 or should i go with the 6C 6T. Some sources say that more physical cores is always better while others say 8T is important for gaming and the ccx layout of 3300x will help outperform the other. 4C will soon become outdated as more and more games utilize more cores and threads, but then again 3300x seems to have a better single core performance. To clarify about my own case, I am looking to mostly game (NO streaming or editing plans) and a bit of moderate usage. I am not always playing the latest and greatest of games. Also an important thing to note I will be using an rx580 or GTX 1650S most probably so will either cpu make a difference? i am starting to think the gpu will be the bottleneck but maybe i am wrong. Thanks for reading, please leave your thoughts!

Budget (including currency): started $500 then $750 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: games racing web browsing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): have a case already. would like to game at 1080p 60fps. wanted 1600af now looking at 3300x but not sure about waiting for them to become available. was wondering if 3600 might be a good option fo a build now. want to get it built asap

In my country (India) there is over $35 diff b/w both cpus... I am highly confused as to which i should buy. Seems like an easy answer! Just go for the 3300x, it has better ccx layout and faster clock speed, BUT I am planning to pair these with a 1650 Super and according to what videos and articles i could find, the performance difference will be low with this budget graphics card. Another problem is that if I were to go with the 3300x ill have to shave off some money somehow to fit it in my budget. I would have to go with 8 gb ram instead of 16 or get a dirt cheap ssd which will be utter trash/ barely better than a hdd. I would like to know your thoughts about how much of a difference will both cpus make. i have no plans to upgrade anytime soon (at least 4-6 years) so keep that in mind! as always there are ppl telling to not buy now and instead wait for 4000 series. I find these comments foolish but I wud like to ask that is there a probability of budget cpu from 4000 series to be launched this year... i wudnt expect that as they just released these both budget ryzen 3s.

l'm a Mac user who has built his first PC with the following config: CPU: Ryzen 3 3300x Motherboard: Asrock B450m PRO4-F RAM: Team T-Force Dark 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Memory Kit - Red HS (TDRED416G3200HC16CDC01) Graphics: Gigabyte RX570 8 GB SSD: 120 GB Adata HDD: Kingston 500 GB 5400 RPM My computer is repeatedly crashing with a blue screen. Going through some of the posts on this forum, I think it seems to be a RAM issue. While the vendor (T-Force) is on the ASROCK QVL, this particular model of RAM isn't (the QVL supports a 2400 MHz RAM from the same manufacturer. Would underclocking my RAM help? If yes then can someone please link me to a guide for the same?

Good day! I’m going to build my friend a PC and i’m giving her my old case (CM MasterBox 5 white mesh) and this is what I came up with. I just want to ask, in the long run? Which is going to better for gaming 4C/8T or 6C/6T? 3300x and 3500 is about the same price here in Japan. She told me her budget is around ¥70,000(). I know all of the prices there are exceeding 70,000 so I offered her that i’ll pay half of the exceeding amount (ie ¥75,000 i’ll pay ¥2,500)

Hi all! I recently decided to upgrade my system - not to anything earth shattering, but hopefully to allow me to play some decent games on 1080p with high FPS. System build is: Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard - F50 Bios version (updated to support 3rd Gen Ryzen) Ryzen 3 3300x Asus Arez RX580 8GB Cooler Master 500W PSU 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 Samsung 840EVO 120GB SSD Installed in a BitFenix Prodigy M Everything is brand new except the RAM which I bought second hand and the SSD which I am bringing over from my old system. I got everything installed and put the drive in from my old machine and it booted into Windows first time, but as I wanted a nice clean install I decided to reinstall Windows using the USB boot option for Windows 10 install. Installation program loads, I choose the version and drive location then start. It gets to somewhere between 5%-30% of the second step ("Getting files ready for installation") and then I get a BSOD. The error I was getting most of the time was "MEMORY MANAGEMENT". I tried a different SSD - PNY CS900 240GB brand new which I had bought for another project, but still got the same error. I thought it was the RAM, but have run memtest86 on both sticks individually and find no errors. I tried installing Windows from a different USB stick, but still getting the same error. I tried underclocking the RAM (getting desperate!) and this time got a "CACHE MANAGEMENT" error. The BIOS was already at the latest version (F50) so I tried rolling back to the previous version (F42h) but this time got a "PFN LIST CORRUPT" BSOD error. Updated to the latest BIOS again (F50) and am now getting "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL". Next step is to return the motherboard-CPU bundle I bought and hope that a replacement fixes this, but would rather just get this sorted if possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! This is beyond me to know what to try next! Thank you!!

Good day! Ryzen 3 3300x is coming soon, and I just wanted to ask if my motherboard MSI A320M PRO-E is good/compatible with Ryzen 3 3300x. I'm kinda new to this PC building scene.

Budget (including currency): $750 with peripherals Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly gaming driving/ racing such as Need for Speed Forza Horizon and simulator like Snowrunner and American Truck Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): cpu: probably 3300x; gpu: gtx1650 super; storage 500gb m.2 ssd. Need monitor mouse and keyboard. Upgrading from PS3 (crazy right!?). Want to buy as soon as possible. I'm guessing that I'll be happy with 1080p @ 60 fpsfps. I'm wondering if I should go with a x570 motherboard or wait for b550. Want a good upgrade path for future. Short life cycle of consoles is why I'm switching to pc from consoles. If you can include reasons for your suggestions that would be awesome. Thanks a lot for your help!

I was going to buy a 3200g as it comes with integrated graphics, but should I wait until 3300x comes out?

Hey all, I'm located in the USA. I have been monitoring the major sites like Newegg, Amazon and MicroCenter (I have one 2 miles from my house) for the AMD Ryzen 3 3300x & 3100 CPUs. I had pre-ordered the 3300x from B&H. However, it has been backordered and delayed multiple times. The current backorder ETA is July 16th. I have not seen these available AND near their MSRP since the launch. MicroCenter hasn't had the CPU available at all. I had Newegg set for "Auto-Notify" once both of these chips hit the site and I haven't received any email from them. Amazon has the 3100, but it is marked up to $140 by a third party seller. Outside of what I listed above, I have not seen either of these CPUs at all. Am I just having really bad luck or has this launch been as frustrating as I have been experiencing?

Budget (including currency): $500 Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: XCOM 2, Two Point Hospital, Sims 3, Sims 4, Minecraft, Battlefield 1, Kingdom Come, Apex Legend, PUBG, World of Warships, Stars Citizen, AOE DE Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have 2 PCs. PC 1: Intel i5 4690K, MSI Z97 PC Mate, TX 750W, H60 AIO PC 2: Intel i5 9600K, Asus ROG STRIX Z390 Gaming - F, Vengeance 3000MHz, H100i AIO, RMi 850W, Rocket Sabrent 1TB I want to replace the 4690K because the TX 750W is almost dead. Actually I have already bought a CX 550W PSU. Now I am hesitating between AMD and Intel and my budget is < $500 (Including the CX 550W which I had paid for $79). I thought about a possible upgrade path in the future so between A520, B550 an X570, I am seriously considering B550 for the motherboard. As for CPU, I have once set eyes on 3100 but after reading a few reviews I m more inclined towards 3300X given its comparatively more superior structure over the 3100. These are the two components which I believe are the most crucial parts of the new build. For cooling I either use the stock Stealth Air cooler or reuse my H60 AIO (I know it's dated and using it is silly but it's still functioning so why not) As for RAMs, they are dropping in price so I guess I will get a stick of 2 16GB. What you folks reckon about my plan?

Hey there, I've just built my first rig with the R3 3300x and my cinebench R20 score is way below what I've seen as what should be standard, out of the box multicore - 2500, 2600. I'm getting multicore score of: 2100 - 2200 (stock). single core: 460 Temperatures aren't pushing over 65 degrees C. - R3 3300x - MSI Mag B550 Mortar - G.Skill 16gb Trident Z Neo - 3600 (XMP enabled) - RX 5600 xt - NZXT x53 AIO - 650w silverstone PSU What's choking the stock performance? Overclocking at 4.4ghz i'm getting 2269 in multicore.

Hi, so im going with a 3300x and a 1660 super OC GPU. Now the confusion starts - the motherboard! It needs to be mATX and have 4 RAM sockets (so i can expand in the future). There are a selection of boards within budget, but i do not know which one to buy. Whats the most important item? All of them support different max RAM speeds from 3200 upto 4400. Should i base my decision on max ram speed? (I was going to buy 2x8gb 3600). Some have a USB C port, that maybe handy. Audio - some have ALC887 or 892 - ?) So at the end of the day, im not sure what to base my decision on - its so much harder than i expected! Here are the mATX b450 boards ive picked out so far: Board Asus Prime B450M-A, max ram speed 4400 OC, alc887 Asrock B450M Steel Legend, max ram speed 3466+ OC, alc892, usb-c MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX, max ram speed 3866, alc892 Gigabyte B450M DS3H , max ram speed 3600 OC, alc887 Asrock B450M PRO4-F, max ram speed 3200+ OC, alc892, usb-c So what should i go for and why please (or another board ive missed!) ? Additionally, why do some of them say, max ram speed 3466+ OC for example? With all of your help, hopefully Ill be able to decide - thankyou

Hi, LTT! I’ve been planing on upgrade my computer, and I’ve been getting all the parts I need little by little. I’m planning on getting the Ryzen 3 3300x (once it’s available), and I’ve been watching some videos and reading in some forums about having to update B450 motherboards in other for the new processor to be compatible or to work. I’ve been planing on getting the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro WiFi AM4 ATX motherboard. Could anyone help me out with this question, if it’s necessary to update the BIOS or not in this case? And if so, how could I do it if I only have that exact processor? I currently use the AMD FX 6300 Thanks guys!
