Hello, I'm looking to make use of the 2 open RAM slots on my motherboard with the overall goal to increase speeds. I just finished my PC build in Feb. so I'm completely new this and with all my research I've thoroughly confused myself and appreciate any insights and feedback. Would it be better to purchase another identical 2x16GB DDR-3200 RAM set, totaling in 64GB of RAM? Or go with 4x8GB DDR-3600 RAM set that would keep me at 32GB of RAM but with DDR-3600 speed? It's my understanding that more RAM doesn't always equal faster speeds, and having a dual channel motherboard plays another part in it. 4 ram stick sometimes causes windows BSOD but on boot only.

So I added 2 more rams of Team Elite Vulcan TUF 2x8 3200mhz. These are same model, die, and timing as what I have been using. I am using these on a Ryzen 5 3600, and B450 Aorus M with F64 bios. I have been experiencing a problem when sometimes BSOD will show but only when booting to windows. But when it does successfully boot to windows, everything seems to be stable. I have verified stability by running OCCT for half an hour. Running it on 3066mhz seems to eliminate the problem. I am wondering if I can fine tune the settings so it would run at 3200mhz stable. Update: Fast boot was causing BSOD. However I noticed that 1st boot is always stable, but when I restart it would become unstable. -
I got a gigabyte x570 gaming x, (i run: CPU-ryzen 5 2600, VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB, rtx 2070) and the ram wont run at 3200mhz (only 2133mhz), i have enabled X.M.P and manually set it to 3200mhz, resetted RAM, it still doesnt work. when running dual channel i was getting BSOD - error code memory management, with 8.1gb hardware reserved. i fixed this by seating them next to each other. please help

Hello, i impulsively purchased this set of memory just because it was one of the cheapest set in the store that i frequently went to.. later to find out that my CPU only goes up to 3200mhz for compatibility issues... i realized my mistake when i boot my system first, when it shutdown right after 2-3 minutes of starting up... already fixed this by setting the frequency to 3200mhz in the BIOS can anyone suggest the timings for this set.up? i am only knowledgable in setting up the frequency in the BIOS, the timings, FCLock is all new to me... My Set-up MOBO: MSI B450M PRO-M2 PAX CPU: RYZEN 3 3100 GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1650 SUPER RAM: 2 X 8b GSKILL RIPJAWS V DDR4 CL18-22-22-42 1.35V

Problem identifying if I have the correct RAM

So my Problem is that I bought new RAM (3200 MHz) and I'm kinda doubting that I got the real product because on one hand -> Task Manager, parts of my BIOS and parts of CPU-Z are telling me that I've got 3200 MHz BUT.. -> HWInfo // HWMonitor and also another part of my BIOS is telling me that I only have 1332 MHz. As for my specs: Mainboard: MSI Tomahawk MAX CPU: Ryzen 3700X RAM: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B083TYS4TL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Basically I have been promised a 3200 MHz but I'm doubting myself on it and god please tell me I'm just stupid. I also activated my A-XMP Profile with no change I updated my BIOS I also found out, that I got sent two times the single channel sticks instead of what I actually bought the 2x8GB Dual sticks. (The Model number matches) Alas, thank you for reading and if anyone got a suggestion as to if I should get another RAM feel free to do so!

So I have 16GB DDR4-3200 but noticed the RAM usage hits 90+% (well I have plenty of bloatware and I like to have guides on secondary screen... Plus I'm a tab horder) So I'm considering upgrade. Now, my board have two empty slots so I am considering either 1. Sell my current kit and buy a 32GB KIT (2×16GB) DDR4 3200 CL16 (or 3600 CL18 price are almost the same); or 2.Paying 57% of the price getting a 2x8 16GB KIT filling all the slots. Note: My current kit is a RMA replacement kit from Corsair, but one of the RGB led partially failed... In less than a year...I didn't get that RMAed yet because I don't want to wait for 3 weeks again and not sure if it's still eligible for RMA. (Perhaps buy the additional 16GB kit and then RMA the current kit? Or I will sell the kit at discount like slightly higher than non-RGB kits on eBay) Note2: I am using a R5 3600, but plan to get a 5800X3D. So I don't think CAS latency and RAM frequency would matter too much. -
I currently have 2x8 gb 2666mhz ram from Corsair rgb pro vengeance, but I want to upgrade to a 64gb kit and I can’t work out if the price benefits of 2x(16x2) kits is better than 1x(4x16gb) kit. Speeds wise I’d have to go for 3200mhz if it was a 4x16 kit since on amazon it’s £398 compared to the £850 cost of a 3600mhz kit. However a dual kit of 2x16gb ddr4 3200 is only £174 and if I got 2 of them it would be cheaper than a quad kit, what’s better? Also bear in mind the prices are from rgb kits as I plan to move my pc to my desk at some point. Thanks

I am buying 2x8 Trident Z series and I want to know what is the difference between 3200mhz vs 3600mhz. When I look at high end builds I am always seeing people with ram speed of 3200, what is so special about it? -
Due to Linus's most recent video I'm now confused about what RAM & CPU I'll get for my new first build. I had previously picked out an R5 1500X & 2x8GB DDR4 3200 with 14 latency, prices of those kits ranging from $155-$187. Now I'm wondering if I should just go with 2133Mhz instead & get a better CPU such as a 1600. 2 more cores won't really benefit me either though for what I do, RuneScape, Light Video Editing, Multitasking (8 or less FireFox Tabs while gaming & video editing). So please everyone help me decided lol, I know in the video I'll link below he specifically compared 2133 to 3600 so I'm unsure if his CPU upgrading advice still applies to 3200. I want this PC to be the best it can be for the price but I also know that Ryzen does favor higher frequency RAM. So I'm worried that by going for more cores vs frequency I might see a bigger overall performance defecate regarding what I do. Unfortunately I have no idea if the things I do is even dramatically effected by RAM speed, for video editing I use OBS Studio & Hitfilm 4 Express. On a final note, I do prefer reliability over speed so let that be a factor in advising me on what to go with. For reference sake, let's just say my CPU & RAM budget is $365.00 or less.

I'm upgrading to a ryzen 1700, and i'm looking for a new mother board. I am looking into this motherboard http://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X370 Killer SLIac/index.asp. I've heard that it can't keep the ram at 3200 MHz and will down-clock it. I was wondering if this is true, and if it is consistent across the board with all these mobos.

Hi, i have a 3200mhz ddr4 ram but i cant pass 2933. Im ok with 2933 at the moment but i want to make sure that my ram is error free. Any software that you can advise to test my memory aside from mdsched? Thanks and keep on ryzing!!!

Hello. Setup: Ryzen 7 / Gigabye AB350 Gaming 3 / 4x8 GB Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz C16 – (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) Even with the new F8 Bios update i cant OC my rams over 2400 Mhz. Can anybody send me some info how to or has anybody experience the same problem. is it even possible to overclock 4 sticks at this board yet? I really want to get this higher then 2400. Hey, I just Overclocked my system SPECS: Ryzen 5 1600 Gskill trident z RGB 3200 Gtx 1070 MSI B350 Tomahawk I was able to Overclock my CPU to 3.9 GHz and memory to 3200 but when in restarted my system and went into BIOS,the CPU frequency was showing 3900,but DDR speed was still 2133,I enabled the XMP on my motherboard,but still can't get past 2133. Please Help. This is my first pc build. Thanks.

I have a G.SKILL TridentZ Series 64GB DDR4 3200 set with a Gigabyte gaming G1 mobo and 6700k.. I've never been able to get XMP profile 1 to work, when I enable it for 3200 my boot fails and have to disable it in bios to get a boot. How could I discover if it's the mobo or ram that's manufacturer defective? assuming a defect is the issue. Thank you -
I found this thread below after encountering a problem with a new PC that would not POST after a shutdown without unplugging and starting up again. I had exactly the same problem. I have an i7-7700 3.6G CPU and 4 x 8G Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200 RAM modules. I changed the DRAM frequency from 3200 down to 2933 as mentioned in the thread which gets round the problem. This was with BIOS version 0906. I downloaded the BIOS version 1009 from the ASUS website today to see if that fixed it but it made it worse. Memtest86 v5.01 blew up at the start of test 7 at 3200 MHz. The 0906 BIOS used to run through pass 1 but then get random errors on later passes. So I've gone back to BIOS 0906 at put the frequency back down to 2933. I'm running MemTest86 again and will run Prime95 under Windows 10. With BIOS 0906 at 2933 MHz MemTest86 ran for 18 hours with no errors and Prime95 ran for a few hours with no errors. At 3200 and 3066 MHz Prime usually generated errors within 5 minutes. I've tried the following values (in the 0906 BIOS @ 3200 MHz): DRAM Voltage 1.38 CPU System Agent 1.25 / 1.125 / 1.2 CPU VCCIO Voltage 1.15 / 1.125 / 1.2 All still caused memory errors in MemTest86 and errors in Prime95. Should I just wait for a later BIOS update or can anyone suggest if / how this can be fixed? Any help would be appreciated! John -
Hi I'm in the market for a specific motherboard the asus rog strix b350 or x370 and I want to make sure I'm using a high-speed RAM for my games. I saw a review that someone said the b350 did not boot with 3200 speed Ram and later said they got it working through overclock settings. I want whatever I buy to work Straight Out of the Box so should I be worrying about this or should I just buy a high-speed Ram with low delays and rest comfortably knowing it will work correctly

So I'm on the hunt for some RAM for the 8700k and I can't decide whether to get 3000Mhz or 3200Mhz. Is there really a big performance gap between the two speeds for Coffee Lake compared to Ryzen? I heard the sweet spot for Ryzen is 3200Mhz. I was looking at the G-Skill Trident Z RGB 3200Mhz or Corsair Vengeance RGB but they're both out of stock on AmazonUK or just priced high So I've started to look for some USED RAM for waaay cheaper on Reddit and people are actually selling them for around £120-£140. EDIT: btw, RAM prices are f*cking ridiculous right now, WHY. Thanks, Sean.

Hi, I'm thinking about buying micro+mother+ram. I have this in mind: CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 3.0 Ghz (And overclocking it to 3.7 or .8). I was looking for the 1600X, but no one sells it here. Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming. RAM: 16 GB 3200 Mhz (from what I could see, 3200 Mhz is the sweet spot). My questions are, If I want to use RAMs at 3200 Mhz, do I need to buy the ones with CL14? Those that are "Designed and tested for AMD Ryzen Optimized compatibility with AMD X370, B350, and A320 chipset", like the Flare-X at 3200 Mhz CL14 (expesinve as fuck) or Flare-X at 2400Mhz CL16 (but 2400 Mhz). What happens if instead I put RAM that is not optimized for Ryzen on that build? Like G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200 Mhz (CL16) or Vengeance led 3200 Mhz (CL16). I wouldn't be able to reach 3200 Mhz? I spent hours looking for information about this, but all I could find are posts of 3 or 4 months ago. Thanks.

Hello all: So I recently got my ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero combined with a Ryzen 1700 and 2x8GB of GSKILL Trident Z @ 3200MHz, and have noticed that the ram is set to 2133MHz by default every time I try to get it to 3200MHz or even 2933MHz it just restarts a couple of times then resets back to default. I have updated the bios to the newest one. Any suggestions? Cheers -

So i have a new build and i am having issues getting the memory to get over 2132. I am using G.SKILL TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZR with my ASUS Crosshair VI Hero. i have changed bios settings around the CPU is stable at 4.0 OC. iv'e tried using the profiles in tweaker for best system set up and it will show my ram at 3200 and the right timings but then when i but up and lunch CPU-Z it shows max bandwidth 2132 and the freq is running at 1066Mhz. iv'e even change the settings myself for 3200Mhz and put the timings in manually. the bios will show as it running at 3200 but when i load up and open CPU-Z it still shows the memory at 2132 but it shows the CPU at 4.0. which is what i have it OC at in the bios. Any help would be awesome thanks. -
Hi all, I'm debating what the best, MOST STABLE, ddr4 ram speed would be for the 8700k. I remember reading that 3200mhz was considered best for z270 (something because the standard ram was 2400mhz), and that 3000mhz should be avoided. Will this change for z370 (with a new standard of 2666mhz)? Is there even such a thing as different ram speeds being more or less stable?

I noticed my RAM was only showing at 1533 or sometimes 1600, despite being rated at 3200. I'm running the AMD Ryzen 2700 on an MSI X470 Gaming Plus motherboard with an RTX 2070. I've gone into the BIOS and enabled XMP Profile 1 already and even changed the manual override to 3200. It's still showing the same 1533. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the timing or I'm maybe missing something. Any help would be appreciated.
