I'm on my second 3090 FE card after my first one was RMA'd back to Nvidia. I still have the same issue and cannot figure it out. I9-9900KS MSI Z390 ACE 32GB 3000Mhz G.Skill memory 1TB 970 M.2 2TB 860 SSD 3x 8TB Seagate HDD 1050W 80+Gold PSU 2x MSI Gaming X trio 2080ti Trying to swap my 2080ti's out for a single 3090 FE, but I cannot get the card to boot! I've tried multiple drivers (461.70 and 462.72) after using DDU to completely remove the old ones. I only get a display output in Windows 10 Safe Mode. Doesn't matter which PCIe slot the card is in. RGB on the card stays white and the fan stops spinning after a few minutes. MSI MoBo has been updated to the latest bios and I've now been escalated to "Level 2" Nvidia support. If I plonk one or both of my 2080ti's back in and update the driver, everything works fine! HELP!!!!!

i am trying to get the most of my computer. The WD AN 1500 runs at high speeds only when it on 8 channel not 4 but with this motherboard i would be splitting the pcie ssd with the graphic card? Will this effect the performance of the graphic card and is it worth it to get the WD an1500 running at top speed and sharing the 16x to 8x8? (speed bench on 4x for wd is same or similiar to samsung m.2 around read/write 3400/3300 the max in pcie3.0 x8 is suppose to be upwards of 6500/4400) It has been suggested to spit the 8 channel with Graphic card and wd ssd and also take 2 of the m.2 raid(1) to max performance and use the last m.2 of the 3 for extra memory but put games on the wd an1500 along with windows 10 O.S and use the RAID (1) m.2x2 for documents or work pictures music etc. is there a better or this best solution? What do you suggest for the overall build with the high performance components installed? setup? The computer is used for work and low gaming (CALL of duty) or fps games etc. multi screens are used. Or Rather: Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock USB ports don't work with a Corning Optical Thunderbolt cable. For VR in the living room next door, I have connected : Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock, 3.5mm, RJ-45, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2) Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2) Type-C, SD, Sort, Aluminium, 8K Ultra HD, 0,8 m With a Corning Thunderbolt 3 Optical Cable (15m) and plugged in a DeLock thunderbolt 3 > 2xDisplayPort. Product names pasted from various mails from the shops where they were bought. So. If I connect the setup as described, Steam tells me that no VR headset is connected - bummer. If I drag my pc into the living room and connect everything directly, it works. If I use the normal (copper) cable that came with the dock, VR Works. If I connect the dock with the optical cable and only use the DisplayPort outputs, but leave the USB3.2 plugged in the computer, it works. The Dock is powered. A few days ago I randomly got a product notice for an EVGA rtx 3090 Kingpin I signed up for last June. I decided to jump on it to upgrade from my gtx 1080, which ended up being $2300 after tax/shipping However, with stuff like the 3090 ti and 4000 series around the corner, I'm really second guessing actually using it as opposed to returning/selling. Sure, it would be a lot harder to get any other GPU, but I had already given up and was going to wait another year until I upgrade. However, I got a 1440p 270hz monitor, so I want to start pushing more frames in the games I play. I currently only hit ~200 fps in the esports titles I play on lowest, which feels like a really stupid reason to get an upgrade now (especially to an over-valued 3090), but it's certainly a big part of the reason. Just wanted to get some opinions, should I just flip it and wait, or give up on new gpus and just use it? If I decide to use it, I'll probably be locked in for at least the next 5 years. No idea if I'll be kicking myself or not, especially since I already made it this long waiting.

Hi all... So I won the Graphics card lottery yesterday and my 3090 is on route (Asus 3090 Strix). I currently run an air cooled AMD 3970X Threadripper with a 2080 mounted vertically. Looking at the width of the 3090 it looks like it will be close to, if not in contact with the front panel of my case (Thermaltake View 37) Any recommendations on a Case that will support this 2.9 slot card vertically?

Hello Guys, I m a bit new to this, I wanted to build some sort of high end/extreme gaming PC, specs below. I 'm planning to purchase this setup within the next couple of months or so.

Premis: The Threadripper 3990x has seen some amazing benchmarks, having been clocked above 5 GHz. But these results are achieved with what seems at a glance to be unsustainable, potentially corrosive cooling if not done with absolute expertise; methods like liquid nitrogen, liquid helium, and mineral oil cooling seem too complex and risky. Original Questions: so what is the 3990x's limit with consumer solutions like custom cooling loops, radiators, fans- what are the best clock speeds achieved with sustainable consumer cooling methods? are there safe and (relatively) simple options that I'm missing like some sort of chilled cooling loop? (like a safer equivalent of the one in this LTT video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMtvEbD2MQo&ab_channel=LinusTechTips ) or is a well thought out custom cooling loop the best choice? To be clear, the question is, what is the maximum I can get out of my 3990x (or my 3090 strix for that matter) without having it wear out or fail prior to a decade of good use? for context: I'm building a near the best money can buy type build, a 3090, 3990x, with cost being saved on bare minimum storage, ram, and cooling - all of which I want to progressively upgrade over time to remove bottlenecking on the CPU & GPU and to allow for overclocking. I'll start with a 240mm aio for the TR with no overclocking, but want to mature the build to it's highest sustanainable output - specifically for 3D, from modelling and texturing, all the way to animation with particles and complex environments (blender, maya, Zbrush, substance painter, Mocap), for game dev (VR game dev, VR Game testing, 3d game dev, 3d game testing), for Music production (FL Studio, Ableton) and lastly for video editing (likely adobe premiere down the line.)

Hi everyone, happy new year. Have a issue I can not seem to sort out. My system keeps crashing while gaming and mainly during loading screens but I can not work out what is the problem. Currently no overclock. All new, but motherboard and PSU which is about 4 months old. X570 tuf motherboard( latest bios) 32gb 3600 vengeance RAM 4 X 8 Corsair MX 750w PSU Zotac 3090 trinity GPU (recommend 750w) could it be power related? Noctua N15 cooler Plenty air flow ( 7 fans all running one direction, 3 in front, 3 top, one back ) Aurous 500gb m.2 nvme gen 4 WD 500gb m.2 nvme gen 3 2 X sata ssd. Have ran RAM test which passed fine. Have ran bench marks without crash. Memory dump files show 3 files under error which are: dxgmms2.sys ntoskrnl.exe watchdog.sys I think it maybe the GPU but not sure. A couple of times after it has crashed the graphics driver has been corrupted, I have had to use the uninstall software to remove everything so it will actually reinstall driver properly( Nvidia driver would not extract for install). The other day everything stopped working correctly in windows and I had to reinstall everything seems fine but game crashing continues. Motherboard faulty? Under powered PSU? Faulty GPU? Would 2 nvme drives cause an issue? Please help I don't no know what best to do next or what to try to find issue. I have rebuilt the system to check everything.

Budget (including currency): N/A Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Any Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv TG Mini ITX case. It's a dual slot case and I currently have a 2080 ti evga black GPU. The length is fine, but the height of the card is what is a tight squeeze. (See pictures below). I was wondering if anyone knew what my options will be for a 3090, or if I should just for-go the option entirely. I did happen to find a 3090 that is a dual slot card (see link below) and it looks slim enough that height won't be an issue, but it is a blower card. I don't want to get it if the temps are going to be insane. My 2080ti reaches around 81c under max load in my case, which is toasty, but definitely acceptable. Is there a better option that I'm missing? I don't think I've seen any other dual slot 3090s. Even a lot of dual slot 3080s look a little too tall for my case to accommodate. Just looking for some feedback. Hello, I finally got around to install my new Strix 3090 OC, and even got some new RT Series Cable Mod Pro cable set (I had a Asus Thor 1200w PSU). Now the two 8 pin PCIe cables that come in the cable Mod pack do not fit into the Strix 3090, has anyone else had this issue? The my old 2080ti cables work and the 6 ro 8 pin PCIe cable work but not the two 8 to 8 pin. The problem was with the card end not the PSU end. Am I missing something here? Are we meant ot be using the 6 to 8 pin (which works by the way, just a bit worried that I'm not going to be getting the full power draw from the PSU) Sorry I'm not very technical whe it comes to putting PCs together.

I have this problem, I need to know whether I better should sell my first bought RTX 3090 which is an Inno3D iChiLL x4, OR nvlink that Inno3D with my second already bought Aorus Master. I am worried about - if the system will be stable or not - if there should be some drivers incompatibilities or any form of instability - Can I use a full 48GB VRAM system? - and if can join both cards hdmi and display ports which in total would be 10 (6+4) Should I sell the Inno3D or should I NVlink them? The thing about why I bought different brand cards is because a mistake, so blame on me for doing it, but I can still resell the Inno3D. I really like the Aorus master. On final note, I don't care if both cards clock speeds gets 'bottlenecked' or whatever speed problems, I just care about the VRAM and the ports and of course system stability. Thanks.

Strife212 has partitioned out about 15GB's of the RTX 3090's VRAM, and installed Crysis 3 to it. The card was still able to run the game at 4K with high settings over 60FPS. The article references an article about already achieving to run Crysis 3 solely on a CPU. Which I thought was a lovely nod to the work LMG does. Quotes My thoughts This is an awesome example of just how beastly hardware is becoming. Where just a few years ago, even the highest end GPU's could barely run this game, now they're able to run this game with the entire file system loaded to them. I can't wait to see all the new and crazy things this will lead to. this issue is driving me crazy, I contacted NVIDIA and adobe with no luck! Nvidia told me to downgrade my driver version to other versions and adobe told me to downgrade adobe premiere to older versions too but with no luck, my pc randomly freezes when editing on adobe premiere and then my two monitors turns black and after a minute the whole pc restarts! it's happening 2-3 times daily when using premiere like randomly! I looked for minidump files and found many, attached is the latest one happened, I tried looking up online to open it and found bugcheck analysis : VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116) Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed. but I didn't understand actually what is that error! can someone help please with my issue? is my RTX 3090 faulty and needs to be changed? is this a RAM issue? or power supply? what should I do? my computer specs: Threadripper 3970X Corsair Vengeance 256 GB RAM Asus Rog Zenith Extreme Alpha II MSI Gaming Trio RTX 3090 Corsair HX 1200W LIAN LI CASE 2x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro Raid 0 082122-15062-01.dmp

After connecting the 3090 FE and trying to run some gaming benchmarks I get constant PC restarts. Power shuts off and PC restarts - booting back to Windows. Specifically this has happened in RDR2, Far Cry 5, and Control. At first RDR2 would crash the second the benchmark started. I then plugged my PC into an outlet in another room via an extension cable. Once doing this RDR2 benchmark will run for awhile and then the PC will restart. Usually just after the night scene and before the stick-up scene. Although once it made it through the stick up scene and restarted later. Far Cry 5 restarts the second the benchmark begins. Control seemed to be running until I set vertical sync to on. Can do more testing there. Not sure if that was related or just random. I have reseated the card on the board, checked all connections, and uninstalled GPU driver (using Display Driver Uninstaller) and reinstalled/updated all other drivers including BIOS. I monitor the Power/Temp/Clock using Hardware Monitor until the PC restarts and all Temps/Power Consumption/ Bus speeds stay within normal ranges. Power draw on GPU never goes above 350W while temp never goes above 70C.Everything ran perfect with all the same specs and a GTX 1080. Only change has been the RTX 3090 FE. Ran Memtest86 on the PC with the GTX 1080 a few weeks ago and had zero errors. All parts were bought within the last 7 months. The CPU and PSU are several weeks old. Specs: CPU: Intel Core i9 9900K AIO: NZXT Kraken x62 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 FE Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro WIFI-CF RAM:4 x 8GB Corsair DDR4 3200 GHz (32 GB Total) Storage: Samsung M.2 Nvme SSD 970 EVO 1 TB PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GA, 80 Plus Gold 850W, Fully Modular Monitor1: ACER 144Hz 1440p Monitor2: LG 60Hz 4k Update: I replaced the PSU with a Corsair RM850 and it's finished every benchmark I've done. It received a Time Spy score of 16766 and passed a Time Spy Stress Test. This issue looks resolved but I'll update here if anything changes.

Hello! It's my first time posting here. I'd like to buy a RTX 3090 but the only way I can fit that GPU in my case is with a riser cable. I'm not sure If I'll lose FPS because of that because this GPU is PCIe 4.0 and also my motherboard. Linus uses a riser cable PCIe 3.0 compatible on his last video like nothing. I can't find a riser cable compatible with PCIe 4.0 that has good quality (this one has really bad reviews). Will I lose FPS in case I use a riser cable PCIe 3.0 using this one? Thanks,

I want a build that can get high frames, like 300 400 frames in games like R6, Val, Minecraft, Gta 5 and stuff while running all high or like shaders and stuff, I want to try and achieve that, budget can be around $10000 to $15000 I guess. Like if possible, like 4 to 2 3090 tis, if possible. Also like it is a workstation, I do digital art, 3d rendering and editing, heavy duty, so it will be worth it. Please reply with the buid.

Hello everyone, I currently am running a NZXT S340 Elite case and just realized that a 3090 card is probably not going to fit with a front mounted radiator (corsair h100i v2). I have been eye balling the Asus ROG Strix Helios. I also like the look of the Caselabs sma8, but sadly they went out of business. I like the look of the Thermaltake Core X71 Tempered Glass, but man is that thing HUGE. Those cases are kind of the look I am going for. Any suggestions? Also I broke down and bought an corsair AX1200i to replace my corsair AX760. Honestly probably a case with a top mounted 240mm rad would probably suite my needs (dang s340 only has a 140mm top rad mount). Thanks!!

Hello nerdmigos, So with the current new cards in I figured like most of us, hell yes! But yesterday I did some tests and thought oh.. hmm.. So I'm currently running 2x 2070 supers in SLI with a 3900x and 32gb of RAM at running at 3600 on an x570 board. Now I'm not an Anthony, so my OC specs are basic. But my system is currently beating the 3080 rtx with 3900x combo on 3DMark tests and I got on 13th place against the 3090 with 3900x combo. Now, there might still be too little data on 3DMark.. but this looks disappointing as hell for the rtx 3000 series.. Does anyone else have some data that shows anything different? And I know all about SLI supports etc. I play the games that do support it. Thanks all!

Hello guys, I'm new here and I was hoping to get some advice here. I'm planning to buy a 3090 RTX ROG Strix Gaming since I heard this will go out in limited stocks. So I decided that I will buy this gpu first and then after 6 months, I will upgrade for other hardware components such as cpu, motherboard etc. So here is my current specs: i7 4790k Maximus hero vii 32GB ram 1200 watts psu xg279q monitor at 1440p resolution with 170hz Will I be able to use 3090 rtx while waiting to earn some more money to buy my other upgrades?
