I have a Gigabyte Vision 3080Ti that I purchased about 6 months ago from a guy that bought it during the 2020 release, he gamed on it till he upgraded to a 4090. I have noticed under heavy gaming load it gets around 81-83°C after a few hours it even spikes to 85°C.. is it time to redo the thermal paste and pads for this card? Or is this around normal temps? PS I have a 5000d Corsair airflow case. Front mounted EK Nucleus 360mm AIO with 3 addition lian li uni fans sandwiched, and 4 lian li uni’s exhausting

Hello, Parts In Image I have tried everything I know to fix. My thoughts are either bad motherboard or psu. I have been experiencing some issues when it comes to games but my benchmarks are average and even above average when I run them. Frame drops and low fps compared to other systems of the same components. For example, my friend of the same cpu/gpu has been getting a constant 400 fps in CS2 at max settings, but I get anywhere from 200-300 with drops to 160 happening. I have tried XPM, DDU, power mode, mem86, and even a windows wipe. I'm desperate as it affects my gameplay. Even in Fortnite on performance mode and all low settings I am getting 100-160 fps with drops. No thermal throttling even though temps are higher than normal. Just bought fans but I don't think temps are the problem. Any help appreciated

So I recently bought a 4070 and a 750w PSU at microcenter, and started have some second thoughts. I was offered a 3080 ti for 600 from a friend the sane price I bought the 4070. I also heard I may have some bootle necking due to my CPU I have a i7 9700k. So I'm really asking should I take the 3080 ti keep the 4070 or spend extra cash for the 4070 ti. And will I need to upgrade my CPU as well.

Hello. So I'm not that knowledgeable in computer but I know enough to troubleshoot and update necessary stuff whenever needed. First of all, let me just say that it has gotten worse but I started noticing the issue when I upgraded from old ryzen to the new gen. Initially what I did is I let it run for just stock everything for a day and tried benchmarks and it seemed just fine. Then I activated EXPO and it was also stable and it actually has been a month and nothing happens no errors or crashes. I always make sure everything is updated and drivers correctly installed. However I slowly got random restarts with no bsod. It just turns off and reboots as if power got cut off. So Initially my response start it again and try to replicate the problem. But sometimes it does not repeat the issue. Basically what happens is whenever I play a game, it would just crash. At first it started with heavy games, like maybe nfs heat, battlefield V. Modern warfare 2 surprisingly works well. I also play lesser demanding games like Timberborn and Dota 2. They work all fine. But recently even Modern warfare would just crash it. And after a few weeks even Dota and Timberborn and even bloons td would crash it. Not sure if this is related but also my 3080ti would immediately flash 3 fast blinking led lights on the pcie cable plug. Which I have scoured the internet and found it was "not getting enough power", or anything power related. However I have a Thor 1200W which is more than enough and that runs my asus 2080ti oc and 3950x just fine and old pc used to pull 550w because of Overclocking and still would do fine, so in my thinking, the 3080ti and 7950x would be just fine with the 1200W. I have been asking around, researching, found people with the same issue but different scenarios. Different solutions but none work Troubleshooting done: a lot - tried reverting to stock instead of EXPO. Didn't work. - tried setting manual ram to 5200 because a few people had the same issue and said it fixed it. Didn't work - turned off global c-state in bios amd PBS because a few people also had 7950x crashing games and that was one solution that fixed their problem. Didn't work for me. - To address the gpu lights, tried undercoating gpu using afterburner. Because of an old issue causing 3080s to crash if it reaches 2000mhz clock. So I lowered the curve to below 1900 or 1905, select 925 then raise it to 1900 then select the rest of the curve and hit apply to level everything. Put power to 100%. Didn't work for me. Still crashes when I run a game. Then gpu blinks 3 led lights. - when I encounter the gpu led lights I shut off pc, unplug, then hold power for 10 seconds. It removes the gpu blinking led lights. Start it again and pc would boot, but whenever a game is launched, it does the same issue. - tried updating drivers manually direct from nvidia or the manufacturer website. Didn't work for me. - tried updating mobo bios x670-i to latest from Asus that recently had the issue that fixes the voltage for the cpu. I believe it was 1616. Did not work. So basically I don't know what triggers the crash. Who crashed does not show anything because no bsod. Event viewer only shows the critical error of the crash. Nothing else. Error, critical error, error. I thought maybe just maybe. It's the cpu? 7950x with the recent issue of power voltage going higher than 1.4 might cause the issue. Mine goes way higher than 1.4xx. So I tried undervolting using the pbo amd eco. Thinking I can deal with performance loss just to avoid crashes and actually game. I also thought maybe it was the gpu because of the power led lights when it crashes, hence the undevolt. Also tried using 3 separate cable for pcie power as anyone should be doing. I thought maybe it was the psu, maybe not enough power? But older pc parts 2080ti and 3950x works fine. I also have an extra 1200w Thermaltake psu which does the same issue. Still crashes. Maybe the ram? But the gskill trident was on the qvl and I made sure I purchased the right one. Tried using 1 ram stick, 2 ram sticks. Issue persists. I also thought that maybe it's just that the samsung g9 running 240hz was too heavy for even a 3080ti running max settings. So I lowered settings on the game. Issue persists. I lowered g9 refresh rate to 120hz/60hz and I still get the error. I run g9 in split screen mode using half screen only and issue still persists. Okay so basically with everything that has happened, last night I noticed that it has gotten much worse. Now I cannot even do anything. Pc would crash 1 min into boot of windows. I open a browser? No! Big F.U, crashes on me. Would keep crashing that now o cant even boot windows because it crashes on loading screen. Ok so I repaired, reinstalled windows. Did everything necessary. Guess what. Issue still there. I updated the bios of the mobo to the latest Asus 1616 ver. Guess what. Issue still there. Lucky enough to boot windows? Run edge and boom. Pc dead. Gpu blinking lights. Get Into windows? Edge doesn't crash? Maybe maybe. Try bloons 6 td? Nope. Can't have fun sir. Another restart. Everything works. Blizzard runs. Modern warfare starts? Yeah ok gpu led lights on. Pc dead again. I'm going crazy. Like wtf is the issue. Have done so many steps fixing so many different issues. Using different methods from different scenarios. 1 last hurrah maybe, just maybe it was the uPS? 1500VA not enough for power draw of pc? So I tried plugging pc to wall directly and nothing changed. Issue still persists. Help please. It's not just a gaming pc. I also work at home and am a full time student at the same time. My medical records and medication trackers are also there. All my important stuff also there. I recently had 8tb hdd wiped clean. All my important files and stuff gone. Work. School. Livelihood. Personal stuff gone because I thought drive died. But pc powercycled and restarted and crashed that's why the drive died. Now it's my pc dying. I need help Anyone I'm willing to pay you and maybe pizza or anything. Just fix it. Please? I'm in Cali near fresno Hanford. Maybe someone can help? Meet up? I'm desperate. I will drive 4hrs if needed. Cannot afford to buy new parts since I have bills to pay and had a death in the family so emergency funds are gone. Old pc parts recently got sold too. Cannot use a different pc. Specs: - Amd Ryzen 7950x - Asus Strix x670-i itx - Asus Rog 3080ti oc 12Gb. - G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo AMD EXPO 32GB F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5NR - Asus Rog Thor 1200W Platinum - Samsung 980 Pro 1Tb - Samsung G9 Odyssey - 1500VA UPS for the PC.

Looking at a 3080ti graphics card that is "being sold for parts". Seller says that he bought pre-built, went on vacation and display wasn't working. Reseated and worked, only to have the display go out again. Fans still spin and lights turn on. He said he doesn't have much pc knowledge, so he just bought a new card and is selling the card in question as broken since he can't get it to work. Scam or no scam? If it's a simple driver or psu issue, than I could get a really good deal on the card... But I'm hesitant and want advice on more knowledgable people on GPU's before I make a decision. Images on GPU show no physical damage or wear.

I have been seeing a few used 3080ti GPUs for sale in the greater London area of the UK with sub £300($380usd) price tags, mostly around the £280($350usd). With the current 4070 cards selling new at £580+($720usd+). Buying a used 3080ti seems like the best option for me as I am planning to upgrade my GPU shortly. But I am intrigued to know of this used pricing is a local UK phenomenon or is it similar to used pricing globally? But to me it either seems like a great deal or the obvious potential for scammers with dying cards. Is it work the risk? Thoughts?

Hi Folks, Got my first gpu block, and it's from a brand called bykski. Got it from Aliexpress, my only option. The seller sent instructions for some cpu block instead of this block, can be a human error. But I did find instructions online, and I am a bit concerned about what I am seeing there. While I am waiting on the sellers response, I am partially convinced they will just send me the same stuff I found online already. Based on the instructions: (attached) They are not telling me to use pads on those rectangular capacitors -- LR22 The GPU's own cooloer has pads for those capacitors as well though. The pads used by Palit (my cards manufaturer) used different color pads for those capacitors. And these same pads were used on the backplat as well. So my best guess is: These capacitors, and whats on the back of the card just need to be insolated Or don't require as much cooling But adding pads where there's no space migth cause bad contact with the die itself. I am just worried about potentially shorting the card itself due to some kind of direct contact. Details: GPU: Palit GameRock 3080TI (non-OC) Block: n-pt3090gr-x

Follow up to my original post. My gpu is acting all funny since I tried to overclock, adjusting the voltage curve, then cleaning my registry and uninstalling after burner. Somehow my 3080ti FE's clock frequency changed from 1665 mhz to 1965 mhz, and wouldn't revert, not even after DDU, and even changing mother boards. The voltage also got stuck somehow at a crazy 1.07. Now I have afterburner reinstalled and I have to launch it and load settings each time I boot my PC. Core clock is set to 1750 or so and voltage moved back to stock 0.9. Please take a look at these charts captured in GPU-Z. Can anybody tell me what would be causing these spikes? Last night I had everything working smoothly and eliminated the coilwhine. Today the coilwhine is back with insane stuttering. The only change was restarting my pc and setting my refresh rate to 120. Original post: "I installed afterburner on my new machine recently. I7-13700k and rtx 3080 ti founders edition. This machine ran fine for months until I tried to OC the graphics card with afterburner. I ended up turning the core clock up to like 2000 and the memory only about a +200 boost. I adjusted the curve manually and somehow made it unstable. No big deal I would just revert the changes.. but before I realized I had an issue. I went into CCleaner and cleaned the registry. I don't know if that is relevant, but now I can not get my gpu stable. I have tried everything I can think of: I have even changed out the motherboard and power supply (thought it may be cpu but am certain now its the gpu); I have reinstalled windows. I am watching the clock speeds for the card on HWinfo and it still wants to boost to the OC I set before all the troubleshooting. I Uninstalled afterburner and my gpu drivers with display driver Uninstaller via safe mode, but the issue persists. I have no idea what to do, any suggestions, please?" 1.bmp

well the title says it all i have bought a 3080ti and i only had problems with it till now the card sometimes draws around 400 watts when running a benchmark and sometimes only 200 watts this low wattage can sometimes be fixed by restarting windows but it doesn't work all the time i already reinstalled a clean windows version, the switch on the card is on P Mode and i have selected "prefer maximum performance" in nvidia settings the psu is completly new and has 1000w (i know a bit overkill) is this just an error i did and can fix or is something wrong with the card (the transistor noise is extremly loud when it will only draw around 200 watts on 100% gpu usage) sry for my bad english and thanks in advance

Hi! First time posting in this forum so nice to meet you all! (And sorry if I posted this on the wrong place, I hope I did not) I recently won an ASUS ROG strix 3080ti OC on a Giveaway (I don't believe it either - Thank you ASUS ) and I'm curious if it would be a good idea to just drop it in my old gaming pc (it used to have an r9 390 that sadly broke, so I have been gpu-less for the last 8 months). It has an i5 6600k (Not OC), 8 gigs of ram (I will upgrade to 16 soon), one sata SSD and one HDD. This runs on a Corsair CS750m psu (80+ gold) that has been more than enough since early 2016 that I bought it. Nvidia recommends a 750w psu for the 3080ti but ASUS recommends a 850w psu for the gpu I will be getting (If I understood correctly the card can take up to ~450w while under heavy load) By just summing up the wattage of my parts, my psu should be fine, but I would like to hear your opinion on the matter since my psu is a bit old now + its a really expensive and rare card to take any risks I may not understand. Is there any reason to underclock/undervolt the card or buy a new psu? (Note: I game on 1080p - Its perfectly fine for me and I don't own a higher res monitor, so the biggest load that the card may run is CUDA code since I'm a developer and I plan to experiment with CUDA a bit) Thank you all for your time and I hope you have an amazing day!

Budget (including currency):[4] ~$3200 USD total (converted from ~10k+ ILS) which $2330 of are already spent (on MOBO+CPU+GPU) That leaves me with about $900 on RAM,PSU,Cooling and a Case perhaps as top priority, secondarily I'll might add a stick of NVMe PCIE4.0 for a boot drive as I don't have any of these cool NVMe's yet. (Only older storages) Country: Israel Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Competitive gaming shooters, which are CSGO/Overwatch/HaloInfinite and so on (so 144hz&G-SYNC with as many FPS as possible hopefully) Casual recent & upcoming AAA titles, I have a backlog of many big singleplayer titles from the past few years and future ones ASWELL as re-experience older heavier multiplayer games I always had to play on low (GTA V, COD,M&BII etc) Recording and/or streaming my gameplay, whether it be to discord or online on twitch with OBS I want to be able to share my experience smoothly - I have fiber optic internet connection aswell. Occasional* video editing, tbh currently I only edited few videos far and apart but most of it is due to limited recording abilities & frustration of hardware dealing with said softwares. I wish in my new build to get more into this hobby. "Multitasking", basically be worth noting that It's a two monitor setup and I'd love to have stuff open on the 2nd monitor when playing. Old system: Other details: NO peripherals needed, going to buy on the 13th at the latest (12/13/21), I play at either 1080p or 1440p at 144hz. (these what my two monitors are) so finally let's get to what's brewing already and how to complete it with: WIP Build Part List: (pcpartpicker link) Green = Already Purchased (in inventory) | Rest = Still considering/need help with GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB VENTUS 3X OC ($1500~ converted) CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core ($510~ converted) MOBO:[1] Asus PRIME Z690-A ATX LGA1700 DDR5 RAM:[2] Either ADATA XPG LANCER RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5200 CL38 ($375~ converted) or Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5200 CL40 ($395~ currently but a I might luckout on $330~ stock) CPU Cooling:[3] Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM ($150~ / $125~ converted depends on retailer) or ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 RGB 48.8 CFM ($151~ converted total) PSU: Corsair HX Platinum 750W 80+ Platinum Fully Modular ATX ($185~ converted) STORAGE: Kingston KC3000 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME ($117~ converted, on sale) It's a PCIE 4.0 and I want it as a boot drive. CASE: I have no idea atm, it has to be ATX of course, Silver/White could be cool to complement my MOBO accent. It's hard to choose when idk CPU cooler height yet and it has to have places for all my drives & cooling obviously. Preferably ventilation over aesthetics as my tower will be on the floor to my left (won't even have a view to the case's window day-to-day anyway lol) For my new build I think I'm content with the 750W Platinum PSU as my whole system sum is about 660W currently. The PC will be on the floor & to my left (that means minimal priority on RGB and aesthetics etc) Footnotes: (Please read, ...or don't)

Hello, I’m looking to buy a 3080ti to upgrade my current pc but was wondering if there would be any problems such as bottlenecks. I’m going to be mainly playing fortnite at low settings (no it’s not a troll) and I’m also going to stream occasionally. This is my current pc, is there anything that I should look out for when buying that gpu or is it going to be fine in this system? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8hwysX

Hello all! My first time creating a post so I hope I’m doing this correctly. I’m looking at purchasing a new higher-end laptop for work and would love help choosing. This will also be my first actual laptop. I currently use an iPad Pro M1 with the keyboard cover for online work (email, documents, etc.) as well as to remote into my current rig when I’m not home which is used for my actual work (video/photo editing (Adobe), 3D animation (some in After Effect/C4D, but mostly in Unreal Engine), motion graphics (After Effects), and music production (Presonus Studio One). On top of my old rig needing an upgrade, as you can image, there are many problems with this setup as well. Therefore, I would love to get the best of both worlds by purchasing a new, higher-end laptop. I attached a Newegg comparison chart, hopefully y’all can see it. At first, I looked at the new Gigabyte Aero 16 and Aero 17 and figured I only have to choose between the mini-LED and the OLED displays (thoughts on that as well would be appreciated). However, I later looked at the TDP of the 3080 Ti on the laptops and saw that it was a bit low at 105W max. I then found the MSI Raider GE76 and found that the TDP of the GPU is 175W max. Not long after, I found the Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 at 150W but for ~$1k cheaper. Why is it ~$1k cheaper other than the CPU being the 12900H vs the 12900HK? My laptop preferences are: - Amazing, color accurate display for content creation - OLED or Micro-LED would be absolutely lovely! - Intel i9 12900H(K) - is there much of a performance difference between the 12900H vs 12900HK? - 3080 ti & 16gb GDDR6 with a higher TDP - battery life is almost irrelevant; sound isn’t a big deal either as I mostly use headphones or have loud music - 32gb ram that’s later expandable to 64gb. - Expandable internal NVME storage would be nice My budget is around $4,200, but I am willing to go up to $4,500 if it has everything I’m looking for. For example, I’m willing to pay for a better display. On the other side of the coin however, I would also love to save money if the sacrifices are worth it. For instance, if the Scar has similar performance to something that is $1k more and the only difference is the worse screen, I’ll simply get an external display for color grading at a later date. If there is another laptop that you can recommend, I am all ears. Thanks for any help and suggestions! Laptop Comparison.pdf

Hi there my name is Bradley, I have been a LTT fan since when LMG was working out of the house. After hearing multiple times that it's hard to get GPUs in Canada and the US. Here in NZ we don't really have a shortage and I am happy to help if you want to get one from NZ. However I'm not sure how much shipping would cost. Eg I can get a 3080ti for $2395 NZD ($1649 USD)

My build: Ryzen 3900x CPU Rtx 2070 Super GPU Corsair rm1000x 1000W PSU 16x2 GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM 512 GB Nvme SSD 6 case fans and 1 cpu air cooler I am upgrading to Asus Rog Strix Rtx 3080 Ti for my animation and would like to use it with 2070 super as well, as you can use multiple GPUs in blender. Is the 1000W PSU enough for 3080Ti and 2070 Super both or should i upgrade PSU as well ? Thank You

I saw the new Noctua 3070 and thought what a waste, why not put that configuration on a hot/loud card.... so I did. I'm new to 3D printing and modeling so it's not perfect but it's what I can do. So dam quiet now, I hated the 3 fans. Cooling was never an issue but it helped with that too. It's an EVGA 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra. I need to run some tests for accurate numbers but right off the bat, cooler and SO QUIET. It's chunky but so is the official Noctua version. 120mm fans are thick. Btw fans are white, camera pick them up as purple. Cheapo fans.

Budget (including currency): ~2800 Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: After Effects, Dota2, Warzone, Battlefield 2042, potentially Unreal Engine Other details https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c3gtwz Hey everyone Here's my list for what I am planning to get: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c3gtwz Does anyone have recommendations or thoughts on this? I don't trust myself enough with the cables for that GPU so I will go to a local shop to get it built. I am using this for working in After Effects and rendering as I am tired of waiting for my videos to render or have slow previews. I also love playing games and my old r9 390 isn't doing it anymore, neither is my i5 6600k. The 3080ti might be an overkill here as I initially thought of going for a 3060ti but through lucky circumstances, it's possible for me to get the expensive one. I heard the 3080ti tends to get quite hot so I wanted a good airflow and a case that looks ok with only slight RGB influences, especially since I use HUE and the Asus mainboard can also access them. I was contemplating an AOI (for the look obviously) but as my old build had the Dark Rock already and was almost silent, I think I'll be going for it again. Noise is obviously important as I listen to a lot of music and sounds for work and not always want to wear headsets. Especially afraid of the dimensions of the GPU as I am unsure if it will fit in the case. The PC will have additional SSDs obviously but I will use them from my old one. Please let me know what you think! Cheers

I recently built a new PC to replace my current build and upon boot up at the windows lock screen I lose display signal and my monitor goes to sleep please help: Specs: -Asus Rog VIII Crosshair Formula -AMD Ryzen 9 5900x -WD Black SN850 M.2 1TB x2 -G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600mhz 8gbx4 -Asus Rog Thor 850w PSU -Asus Rog Strix 3080TI OC My motherboard is updated to the newest BIOS. I've tried reseating my gpu and ram. I've also tried booting with 1 stick of ram. I've checked all my psu cables, used different ones, tried an entirely new psu. I've also tried every display port on the gpu including hdmi. At that point I thought maybe I got unlucky and received a DOA gpu so I returned it and got a brand new one but still the same problem occurs. I have also tried different monitors but still nothing. I do not recieve in error beeps or lights on the motherboard. Everything POSTs in the BIOS. PLEASE HELP.

Hey Everyone, So I recently just built my new gaming rig with the following basic specs: GPU - EVGA FTW3 ULTRA RTX 3080Ti CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5950x MOBO - Asus TUF Gaming x570-Pro RAM - 32Gb 3600MHz CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-D15 Fan layout is: - 3 front intake - 3 top exhaust - 1 back exhaust As for temps, I’m a little concerned since I’m idling around 60C and reaching around 80C under heavy load (90C on hotspot). Especially when I’ve seen other examples of the same exact GPU idling around 42C and sometimes less. I’m really not sure what’s normal or not but I’m just asking out of pure curiosity. Now for power draw. I’m sure everyone is aware with the faulty coding in New World bricking GPUs because of spiking TDP percentages. I decided to run a Heaven Benchmark and my board power draw was around 390W at just about 100% TDP. Also, in Precision X1 the target is set to 100% and 83C. On a side note, my idle power draw is at 110W and my idle clock speeds are at 1800MHz. When I was in New World, I was getting around 75% TDP and wattages not going much further than 300W. So the question is should my TDP be at 100% under load or is 75% normal. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I recently upgrade from a GTX 1080 Ti to a RTX 3080 Ti but Overwatch and Halo Infinite both are getting 40-50fps on epic settings, I have tried completely reformatting drive and reinstalling Windows 10, updating drivers, changing power profiles to performance, updating M.2 drivers, enabled DOCP for the RAM, and even swapped out the PSU from 860 to 1000 and nothing has helped temps all seem to be within normal ranges as well. the Specs are as follows: Ryzen 7 5800X Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti FE 64gb 3200mhz g.
