I have a pre built computer with an RTX 3080. Not mater what display or cable I use, it won’t display an image. Weirdly enough if I plug the cable into the motherboard, the integrated graphics will work fine. This issue goes for both BIOS and Windows 11. The 3080 is not detected by Windows in device manager. Tried reinstalling drivers with DDU. I tried a different GPU that only needed PCIE power, and that worked fine. I tried an older 1080Ti. That worked fine for a little while, but then the fans spun loudly and the screen went black. I plugged into the motherboard again after that happened, and it displayed through the integrated graphics. But seemed to be acting as a second display because none of the desktop icons were there. It can’t be Windows because this problem occurs with the BIOS as well. Could it be the PSU power cables or PSU itself?

Hi, I started experiencing an issue where installing the latest Nvidia drivers leads to a crash, then windows system repair when my PC restarts. I ended up buying mostly new parts and doing a clean install of Windows so at this point the only 2 components which aren't brand new are my GPU and PSU. The issue has persisted no matter what I've tried to do. I wasn't able to update to the most recent drivers on Nvidia's site so I ended up installing 537.58 which is working, but not working great. Since installing, I've been playing a lot of The Finals and experiencing extremely frequent Unreal Engine crashes which the internet says are caused by driver corruption. I'm starting to worry that my 3080 has gone bad after barely a year of extremely light use. (~90% of the time it's been used has been playing TF2, watching Youtube and using Microsoft Excel.) At this point it seems that it's either my PSU not delivering enough power or my GPU going bad long before it should. What do you guys think? My build is as follows: GPU: Gigabyte Windforce RTX 3080 (16 months old) CPU: i5 14500 (Brand New) PSU: Corsair TX650m (4.5 years old) MOBO: Asrock B760M PG Sonic Wifi (Brand New) Ram: 16GBx2 G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 (Brand New) SSD: WD Blue SA510 1 TB (Brand New) Water Cooler: 2X 120mm Cooler Master RGB (Brand New) OS: Fresh install of Win11 Pro GPU Driver: Geforce Game Ready Driver 537.58 (Released 10/10/2023)

Ever since i had my new pc, i kept trying to turn play fortnite with ray tracing and dlss, however the dlss option will never show up and trying to use ray tracing will just crash my fortnite when i restart the game. I then tried to use dlss in war thunder, but the game does not allow me to turn it on. I then tried playing The Fabled Wood, but my ray tracing just straight not does not work and and when i try to play the game with dx12 where dlss is available, it crashes. I had done a clean installation of my gpu driver and verify all game but it still does not work. Pls help me if u know what is going on.

TLDR; Random crashing that I cant fix by any means of software, and cannot pinpoint possible bad component. I need help, because I have no clue what to try at this point. I recently upgraded my PC from a i7 9700k & 3080 (And other necessary components) to: CPU: i9 14900k (Mounted w/Thermal Grizzly contact frame. "Torqued" to exact spec) GPU: MSI 3080 Gaming Trio Mobo: MSI Z690 Force Wifi Memory: x2 32gb Gskill trident Z5 DDR5 6600 *I added another set of this same memory kit post build* PSU: 1600w EVGA SuperNova Storage: 2 M.2 SSDs (Samsung), 1 SATA SSD, and 2 HDDs (existing). *Boot on M.2 980 Pro* Cooling & Fans: Lian li galahad 2, x6 Corsair SP120s. Along with this upgrade I did a completely fresh windows install and upgraded to windows 11. When playing most games that aren't very low demand like Lethal Company, I experience random crashes at random points. These crashes range in errors but most frequent being ones from UE5/4 games (Alan Wake 2, The Finals, EA WRC, etc..) , the following are the descriptions from crash reports & event viewer. Along with an occasional BSOD, but never while playing a game, only when on desktop doing non-performance intensive processes. MISSING_ANGELSCRIPT_CALLSTACK EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION LowLevelFatalError Aftermath GPU Crash dump Triggered DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED BSOD: Memory_Management Among some " GPU Memory exceeded " or similar in Overwatch 2 randomly. These crashes typically do not happen in graphic intensive sections or have any trigger, my temperatures are never excessively high. These are the things I have tried to far to no avail: DDU GPU Driver fix, multiple times. Updating Bios, chipset, and any manufacturer driver under that applies. SFC Scan, fixed once, after that always says no errors. Different graphics settings (Running in D3D12/11, vsync on/off, hardware acceleration on/off etc..) XMP Enabled/Disabled I do not overclock but ensured no overclocking through MSI Click bios Memtest86+ Received fails on 1st test, no change. Tested each stick by itself with multiple passes, no errors, then all 4 together again- no errors. I have a hunch that it could be the memory, because as stated before I initially bought x1 32gb Gskill trident Z5 kit, then bought another of the exact same kit. I do now know that this shouldn't be done and if I wanted 64gb it should be from the same kit- but doing Memtest86+ resulted in no errors. My next step will likely be Clean windows install, and seeing if that makes a difference. If not, then RMAing Ram, Motherboard, then CPU. If anyone has any suggestions or if you are having issues like this please drop your specs and what you have tried. Thanks.

Hi all, I noticed some artifacting and crashing applications earlier today and decided to take apart and clean most of my PC, figuring it was dust causing connection issues for my components. I put everything back together and am now getting hung up on the CPU debug light and my PC now cannot even boot to BIOS. I have tried: Removing all but 1 stick of ram Clearing CMOS, and subsequently replacing the battery Reseating all components and repasting CPU thermal paste Flashing BIOS via USB drive to both the current version it was on and the most updated version I am about out of ideas and would super appreciate any input! The only thing I can think of at this point would be going to the store and buying another GPU to test if that's the problem. Because of the artifacting, it's seeming to me like that's the most likely culprit. I would warranty the GPU, but because I bought it during the crypto mining peak, it came from China. MSI China won't recognize the warranty because it was used outside of their region and MSI USA won't recognize the warranty because it's "not from their region". I have my 3080 connected to 2 monitors and 2 Tvs. Since i don't always use the 1 of the TVs i leave it off most of the time, but every time i turn it on, even if im not using the input from the TV, all my monitors will freeze for about 1~2 mins. While frozen, sound and presumably other functions/programs continue to run, but all video is frozen to the last frame before the tv turning on. It also exhibits the same issues when unplugging and re-plugging in said TV. I've checked event viewer and i've tried searching some stuff up, no solutions seemed to have worked. I've obviously done the simple stuff like, updating all drivers, DDUing and reinstalling, clearing CMOS, stuff like that. So if anyone here has an idea/solution, please lmk. (I tried it once @ ~11:50 and once @ ~12:50 PC Specs: (all stock) r7 5800x 3080 32 gb ram (ddr4, 3600mhz) Monitor 1 Specs: 1440p, 144hz Monitor 2 Specs: 1440p, 75hz TV 1 Specs: (this is the one that causes everything to freeze) 4k, 60hz (but other resolutions/refresh rates diidt help) TV2 Specs: like 640x480, idk tbh (its a crt)

"When I played games, the PC crashed to the BIOS, and Windows froze afterward. The PC reset, and everything worked again until I started a game. During benchmarking, the PC worked normally, but it only crashes when I load up games. So, why is the HDMI port damaged? After the games crashed, I sent my card for warranty service, and they found that the HDMI port was broken. I am 99% sure they did it accidentally, but they refuse to take the blame. My question is this: Is there any possible way that with this damage and after a 3-hour benchmark, the PC won't crash, but games can crash it? Is it possible for the HDMI port to function with this type of damage?"

Hello everyone, recently my RTX 3080, an Asus ROG Strix RTX 3080 V2 OC Edition, started acting strangely. I had to replace the side fans cause they started to make a terrible noise, so I disassembled, changed the fans, cleaned old thermal paste and thermal pads, new thermal pads (right size) and reassembled (no temperature problem in game, stable at 70°C on Memory and 65-68°C on Hot Spot). Since it was like 1 month of doing a terrible noise, I've been unaccustomed by the up and downs of the fans, and now it's driving me mad. As you can see all the fans do up and downs. I tried changing everything on GPU TWEAK III, the only way to solve this is to put the % on 71, which fixes the RPM of the fans. Anything between 30 and 70 keeps the fans do up and downs. I have all the drivers updated, bios of the mobo too. Tried the "NVIDIA Resizable BAR on systems with an ASUS GeForce RTX™ 30 series graphics card" RTX3080_V6 update from official support, it said that I don't need any update for it. This is my current setup: Case: be quiet! Yes the cpu is a bottle neck (it shouldn't be this bad) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktKCHElEmfI&t=1s - example of the same parts while be it on far better motherboard which is the only thing i can think of being an issue Yes the ram in not at the correct speed. it doesnt change performance as things stand even if i set it to 36000mhz( i got tired of setting it every time i reset bios which i have done more than 20 times at this point) OK so R5 5500 RTX 3080 A520m k v2 16gigs of 3600mhz ram - single channel (second stick is on the way but the performance disparity shouldn't be this high just because its single channel) benq mobiuz ex240 1080p 165hz (just using cyberas a test but applies to almost every game. Valorant runs at 200fps on a 3080 and deeprock gets 90 fps in the lobby) My problem is cyberpunk (and everything else basically) run at the same fps no matter what setting i put it is 60fps on low 55ish on ultra. the cpu wont go above 35w. gpu wont go above 50% usage in most cases. do i just have to change my motherboard ? or is edc defined by the cpu before u flame me for the cpu and mobo i got both of them together for 140ish bucks new (idk exact conversion rate) gpu is used but its performing just as well as any other 3080 in furmark.

I have been building a Pc for my friend to stream on for the past 2 weeks I have set up the Pc and installed windows 11 but if the gpu is plugged in the screen will go black after a few seconds of trying to log into windows. Sometime I can log in but the same thing happens Right now I have the gpu in the pc but booted into safe mode to disable it via device manager. I think I have downloaded the right driver for it. I have also checked the bios settings and they are fine. Any help would be appreciated Thank you in advanced PC Specs Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K 3.20 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable) GPU: Geforce RTX 3080 System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Edit: I disabled the gpu and installed a driver via geforce experience and it worked for a good hour, and then black screen

hi i have a msi seahawk 3080 and the power limit is locked at 100% i have it OC at +150 on the core and +340 on the ram. The core has lows at 1960 sometimes but mostly sits over 2000mhz It only draws 330 watts... Was thinking i can flash a vbios from a higher power limit 2X8 pin card to get more out of it. Worth it? And is it risky? the gpu sits at 50°c on full load so temps arent a problem Thanks

I had had graphical issues for a while on the computer I built a few months ago (Windows 10, i5-13600K), and I need help to decide whether I should turn in the card (RTX 3080 TUF). I frequently notice issues mainly when browsing chrome, the screen flashing black/white for a millisecond when switching tabs, random black lines or purple squares when watching videos or browsing social media, or completely broken graphics on some sites. I have not encountered any issues while playing games (however I only play a few titles) and I have not had these issues on the desktop or while using other applications. At first I thought I would just turn off hardware acceleration, which solved some issues (I think) but after having it off I am still having many issues. I have updated the gpu drivers, I have rolled back the drivers and reinstalled, I have done system restore. I have not done any overclocking to the card. I have checked that cables are not loose, and yes I have 2 separate power connectors rather than using the split one. There is one issue I have encountered, however I am not sure whether it's related or not since it's the only issue I encountered outside the browser. When I hover over the "show desktop" and the fade animation starts to hide the window and show the desktop, I get random white horizontal lines on my secondary 1080p 60hz monitor. The same does not happen on my 1440p 165hz monitor (or at least I have not been able to replicate it). What do you think? Is my gpu broken or is there something else I should test first? lines.mp4

Hi, I'm upgrading my pc from my old GTX 1070 and recently I bought a new monitor 2k 240hz. Anyone knows which between the RX 6750 XT 12G and RTX 3080 10G is the most suitable for my monitor? Used the 6750 XT used costs from 50€ to 100€ less than the 3080 used, and I wandering if spending a little more for the 3080 was worth. Thenks in advance for the reply

Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, VR games (Valve Index), and media. I don't play any competitive games nor fast paced FPS's Other details: My current PC is a Lenovo P72 laptop. CPU: Xeon E-2176M RAM: 128GB (4*32GB DDR4 SDRAM PC4-21300) GFX: Quadro P4200 with Max-Q Design I have a Razer Core X Chroma on the way and I'm planning on purchasing a graphics card to use with it for now and eventually to put into a tower I'll be assembling next year. The laptop has a 4K display but my only current external "monitors" are a couple TV's. One is a 47" Toshiba 47L6200 (1080P) and the other is a Samsung UN58NU7100 (4K). I'm fine with gaming at 1080P but I'm tired of the occasional slideshow that is Starfield when running at 720P and all low settings. I'd be targeting 60 hz/fps since that's the max to my current monitors although I may get a proper gaming monitor in the future with a higher refresh rate. I'd like to be able to use the graphics card for a few years with medium quality settings. I'd really like to have some nice eye candy with ray tracing so I'm picking Nvidia over AMD. My current options for graphics cards are: $600 CAD - used EVGA 3080 FTW3 (unknown background) $750 CAD - used EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra. used to mine Ethereum for 6 months in a professional set up, utilizing server cases and high end room temperature control. Temperatures of cards were closely monitored. Upgraded thermal pads professionally installed. $845 CAD - new Gigabyte Windforce 4070 Given I'm in British Columbia I'm not overly concerned about the cost of electricity but I do like the efficiency of the 4070 just for using it within the Razer Core X Chroma. Should I get the new card and avoid any issues due to being used for mining? I can afford all of these cards but I've been unable to determine what the real hazards are due to cards being used for crypto mining and the comparisons I've found put all three cards in pretty similar spots.

So a accidentally pulled to hard the HDMI port on my 3080 msi ventus 3x, a few pins are bad, so where could I find a guide about how to solder a new hdmi port? or what else could I do? I am in Latin America, so it’s easier for me the solution be something I can do, than sending it to a RMA, also it’s MSI, I’ve heard their RMAs are bad EDIT: HI GUYS, I was able to take a closer Image:

Hello, I have an issue with my GPU where it stays at a constant 50%-70% usege mid rounds and between rounds as well as the end screen of a CSGO match it goes to 100% useage constantly. When I play baldurs gate 3 the same happens but I expect it more in that since its a much newer game etc. etc. My GPU also goes to max useage when doing heavy stuff in unreal engine but that is also to be expected. PC specs: i9-13900F ROG Strix B760-F 2x32GB DDR5 4800MHz I am playing on a 1440p monitor with Gsync enabled, I dont know if this has any effect. Here is a screenshot of the TechPowerUp GPU sensor data whilst running a match of CSGO. as you can see its very clear when csgo was opened, when the match ended and when csgo was closed again. I did this experiment after rebooting my pc with pretty much only csgo running and im using the newest graphics drivers from Nvidia My csgo settings: res: 1920x1440 stretched fullscreen multicore rendering enabled FPS limited to 400 Is this behaviour to be expected from the RTX 3080 or is there something wrong, and if there is something wrong does anyone have any suggestions on what I can to to fix it.

Hello fellow tech people! First time writing but long time viewer of the channel and the forums. I'm helping a friend with his RTX 3080. He bought it second hand from some guy who bought them in bulk. It later broke and was sent in to be repaired by a third party shop multiple times but works fine since then. His little brothers mobo found the card no problems and it worked fine when he used it, but my mates old mobo did not even found a it as a PCI-device. Thought it was that the old motherboard was PCI Gen 3 and his little brothers was Gen 4 (the thinking was like the shop only fixed it to work with Gen 4). I tried it in one of my Gen 4 computers with AMD-chipset (his brother use Intel so we had tried both) and it works like a charm in it. Benchmarked it in some games as well with no problems. Updated the drivers as well the the latest. My mate caved in and bought a new mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU and finally a non-spinning storage device haha. I built it all for him and tried the card on the mobo-box but with the same results as in his old mobo. The fan spins slowly but not in the locked minimum 35% it should. The power is correct as no lights light up by the power connectors (if I pull one of them out and turn the PSU on it lights up so I know they work) I am now out of ideas to troubleshoot, integrated graphics works fine, but the 3080 really doesn't wanna work in this system. Do somebody have any ideas to test? Specs: CPU: i5 13600K Mobo: NZXT N5 Z690 DDR4 GPU: Asus RTX 3080 Founders RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (2X16GB) 3200MHz PSU: CoolerMaster MWE 850 V2 CPU-Cooler: DeepCool AK620

For awhile now I've had what seems like some unusually high temps on this 3080 (MSI RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X). At first, I assumed it was restrictive airflow in my case (it was one of MSI's prebuilt console-style PCs). Just recently built a new one, and carried over the 3080 but am still having unusually high temps for the loads it's under. Main parts of system: Corsair 4000D case (default fan setup so far, one intake one exhaust) Ryzen 7700x (DeepCool AK620) MSI RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X Temps: GPU stock fan curve GPU undervolted to 0.85V and max boost of 1815MHz Ambient temp is around 23C GPU at idle (fans at 0%) is around 50C GPU load at 50-70% gets to around 70-80C (fans at 60%) Any more load and fans rocket up to 100% (unbearably loud) and temps hit 85C and i assume starts throttling I know getting some extra case fans to pull in more fresh air would help (I already have a 5-pack of Arctic P12 on the way), but I'm not sure if they'd really help enough. It feels like I'm having to turn settings down in so many games just to prevent GPU load from hitting 80-100% and dealing with the obnoxious noise. It's definitely outside of warranty period at this point, in-case starting an RMA was even an option over this. But I'm willing to try anything at this point (don't really want to drop $1000+ to get another GPU )

UPDATE: Ended up getting an aorus master 3080 10g for 400 usd. From what I checked my 9600k should not really bottleneck it too much and i should be able to get the performance i want from it. Thanks everyone for the help! Hiya, this is my first post. I have been thinking of upgrading my GPU and am just sifting through options. However, it is quite hard for me to figure out what is a good deal as performance between cards is hard to measure sometimes as some of the testing videos are 2 years old now and might not be accurate. I am looking for consistent 144fps at 1440p, I usually play at around medium settings, rarely going to high cause I think it just doesn't look as good. Mostly interested in being able to run Warzone 2 at those settings and maybe witcher 3 at 1080p with RT on for the Nvidia cards I am looking at. My rig: I5-9600k (not overclocked, can overclock) 16gb ram 750w 80+ gold power supply Rog Strix 1080 (what I'm looking to upgrade) I have been looking at rx6700xt, 3070, 3070ti and 3080 because prices in my country seem decent put I'm not really sure. This is where I need your help! Currently I am seeing offers at these price points: 3080 - There is one for 400usd but in the ad it says "the fans need to be at 100% otherwise it goes to safety mode" - Aourus card - Most of the others hover around 460usd 3070ti - Between 345 and 400 usd 3070 - Between 316 and 345 usd very rarely one pops up for 287usd Rx6700xt - Around 281 mostly a bit higher price than this Not considering the 6750xt because it hovers around the price of the 3080. There is a 6800xt for around 517 and there may be some wiggle room there but I am not sure if I should try if it is not much better that the 3080 There is also one 6800 for 400usd but the rest hover up to 460usd so quite similar to the 3080. There might be some wiggle room on most of the card but any help based on those prices would be highly appreciated.

Hello, So i bought an asus strix 3080 off ebay and it causes some weird glitching effect. A video of it will be provided. It happens at weird times, when i startup the pc, when i start a program, just idling or when i run something demanding like heaven benchmark. The scale of the glitching depends on the strain on the pc, when idling on desktop it is just a little flickering at the top of the screen and when i use heaven it is on the whole screen reducing the fps to 10 instead of 200. When i close heaven its gone, also happens with other stuff like diablo or minecraft with shaders. There is also occasional black screens where i have to shut down the system on the case. All of this doesnt happen in safe mode, maybe thats obvious but i wanted to mention it. There is also no problem with the temperature, as msi afterburner shows idle 44 degrees celcius and when in action its like 70. Here are my specs: Windows 11 Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621 Asus rog b-450-f motherboard, BIOS version 5102, the newest as i updated it yesterday AMD Ryzen 5 5600x Bequiet 600w power supply, i know its kinda lacking in power so im getting a new one, but i dont think the psu is the problem, cause it also happens when in idle. 2x8gb Corsair RAM DDR4-3200 (part number: cmw16gx4m2c3200c16) Asus strix rtx 3080, my gpu before that was a rx 5700 2 Screens, one 1080p 60hz hdmi and one 1440p 144hz dp The things i already tried: - I did use ddu to uninstall previous amd drivers, then installed newest nvidia drivers and the glitching started - Used ddu to uninstall nvidia drivers and install 472.12 nvidia drivers from september 2021, which didnt change anything - Thought it was a problem with the power consumption, so i undervolted the gpu but that didnt change it either. - Updated the vbios of the gpu - Opened it up and cleaned it - reinstalled newest drivers - I also read that it has to do something with pcie wires and connection, but i use 2 different pcie cables, one connector of one and two of the other. Interchanged them but no difference. I dont really know where to go from here, have been searching but have not seen something like that, so thank you very much in advance PXL_20230628_162211561.TS4.mp4 PXL_20230628_115059709.LS.mp4

Hello everyone! I have had my trusty 2070 for about 4 years now, I'm not unhappy with it's performance and wasn't really looking to upgrade till it started having some thermal problems. I have already tried replacing the thermal pads and googling almost every fix possible but something seems to just be wrong with it and so I have decided just to let the poor thing die and get a new card. Been looking at 30 series cards but they all still seem pretty expensive here in the UK. The 4070 has caught my eye with DLSS 3.0 as well but the price is difficult to justify atm. My main question is would a cheap 3060ti be able to give me a little better performace or would I need to go higher than that for a 3070/80? Or am I best skipping the 30 series with its mental power draw and saving for a bit and going for the 4070? Tried doing my own research but it's all very conflicting and I just can't decide. I have a 3800x and 32gb RAM at 3200.
