Hi everyone, I'm posting since you're my last hope. Here'smy problem : i have a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Eagle OC 8G (rev 1.0) that is not working properly. The card is stuck at 210 MHz (at idle, on desktop, browsers but also when gaming). The memory clock seems to be ok (boost up to 7000 MHz when launching a game or Heaven Benchmark). The card is also reporting 225W consumption on the GPU when idling, and 280W when in benchmark, even if the GPU's still at 210 MHz. I can "overclock" it with Afterburner and do a + 1 000 MHz, so the card run a "normal" 1210 MHz. There are a few frame drop when using this profile in Afterburner, but consumption is still at 280W and temps are around 50°C. I have tried multiple things to have it running properly again : - Removing the driver (using DDU) and reinstalling them (multiple times) - Completely fresh Windows install - Flashing the BIOS (MOBO and graphic card using nvflash) - Tried the card on my wife's computer As you can imagine, neither of these worked for me, that's why i'm posting this. I'm currently using my "old" KFA2/GALAX GeForce GTX 1070 on the same system, which work perfectly fine, but i would like to get back the 3070 to its full performance. I used to watercool my PC, and had a leakage, but i dried the card, and it worked during multiple months after that, it doesn't seem damaged, but it could be a cause. Of course, the problem occured a few months after the end of the warranty. So, if anyone have an idea, i'm all ears ! Thanks PS : sorry if there are some mistakes in the post, english is not my native tongue

Hi there, I recently made the very stupid mistake of flashing the wrong bios on my 3070 (gigabyte 3070 Gaming OC rev 1.0, accidentally flashed the 3070TI bios). ever since the card was essentially dead. it is not identified by the BIOS and does not show any signs of life (fans at 100% all the time). I purchased the following device in a last dich attempt to save my card: USB Programmer Module Flash BIOS Clip CH341A 5V-3.3V Drive IC Electronic Kit | eBay i made several attempts to flash the new bios on the chip with no success so far. does anyone have experience using such a device and came across issues or possible was able to resolve a bad flash? Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone, I have noticed that while I am watching videos on Youtube the memory usage increases of my GPU (NVIDIA RTX 3070 8gb). See Attached Image. I googled about this and I found out it has something to do with "Use hardware acceleration when available" in Mozilla Firefox. I also read somewhere that disabling this will increase load on the CPU (Intel i5-12400) instead of GPU. So which option is better? Is it better to put load on GPU while watching videos or live streams? Which option will lower the overall power consumption?

Anyone can help me decide on which card should I buy, my option are 4060 just a 2months old i have 53 dollars less compared to bnew once while 3070 is a mined card for a year though its 18 dollars more expensive than 4060. For gaming and some light editing in photoshop. Also note that im kinda leading towards 4060 since im afraid for the lifespan of a mined card and I can't see any post how long does a mined card would last.

So as i said in the title I'm about to do an upgrade on my PC but i only have an XFX XTR 550w Gold PSU (Was "Tier A" when i bought it like 4-5 Years ago not sure about now). Current specs are listed here (CPU-Z: https://valid.x86.fr/lh33b9) but in summary i have Undervolted and Overclocked the following parts. CPU(5600X) GPU(1070TI EVGA Ultra Silent FTW) RAM(2x8GB Trident Z DDR4 3600MHz cl18) If you need more details just let me know. So question is should i buy first a GPU(Probably Used one) and after 2-3 months a PSU or the other way around? I'm thinking about buying a 3070/ti/super (Which ever is around 300euro at the time) I've checked on PSU Calculator and all my parts(Overclocked) with a 3070 at 100% TDP is around 450W which means i have a headroom of 100W. Preferably i would like the GPU first but i can get the PSU and wait 1-2 months if that makes things right. Is it too much for my PSU to handle? Should I undo all the overclock and keep the undervolt in order to have more headroom if i get the GPU first? If you have any other GPU in mind feel free to let me know.

While my original ran great till right before my 3 year warranty expired. My next 2 replacement cards from EVGA have both had issues within a few hours of use. I've reseated and reinstalled drivers, is there anything I can do or is it just dead? It's their over clocked 3070 model

Well i was using rtx 2080ti with my ryzen 5 5600 for quite some time.. but recently my 2080ti died.. i am getting a really good deal for 3070 from my friend .. should i expect similar performance from 3070 as well? I game on 1080p.. and the games i usually play CS2 Fortnite And some other CPU intensive games.

I have a simple question.. i watched some videos of 3060ti and 3070 teardown.. and in founder edition the heatsink and the pcb looks identical to me.. I bought a 3070 founder from my friend without its cooler (he was using it in his watercooled pc and lost the stock cooler) in a really good price.. it will ship to me in a week.. i have a dead 3060ti founders.. So can anyone confirm me if the cooler and heatsink is same on both cards?

(My first post, forgive my poor etiquette) EDIT: Attempted a repaste and now my PC is stuck in a boot loop with purple artefacts. See images in below replies. I bought a new monitor to finally escape 1080p 60hz gaming and make good use of my new GPU but when I launch some games the temperature spikes to 81-84c and then proceeds to black screen at 100% fan RPM which needs a reboot to fix. I have only managed to play a few games since I bought the monitor: Minecraft (ATM8 With shaders) - No issues Stellaris (Midgame) - No issues aside from some ran ramping occasionally Anno 1800 - Fan Ramping in main menu, On entering a game (Quality setting agnostic) my 3070 spikes to 80c and I have 10 seconds to quit to menu before I crash. (Note the utilisation on the GPU was around 30%, and the CPU ~40-50% on all cores) Fallout 4 (Atomic Warfare Modpack) - As soon as get to "War never changes" GPU temp spikes to 80+c and I crash. Before upgrading to this GPU I ran DDU before installing the newest Nvidia Drivers, I have also updated the drivers to the newest version 545.84. To attempt to solve my issues I have: Reduced the main monitor frame rate to 120Hz from 170Hz but the issues still persist. Changed the quality preset on anno to medium and the game resolution (Nvidia suggested) to 1969x1108. Almost gave in to the temptation to upgrade my MoBo & CPU. Most of these issues, bar Fallout 4, were rare or non existent on my old 1080p 60Hz monitor but my assumption was that a 3070 can handle 1440p just fine. Hi all, I have a two part question regarding the fan on my GPU. Reference pics attached. Part one I'm expecting the answer to be that the fan is broken and needs replacing, however I'm not familiar enough with the hardware to know for sure. Part two is the best way to go about doing said replacement if necessary as I'm not sure whether replacing just the fan is recommended etc. I've had my Desktop for about a year now (pre-build) and recently one of the fans on my RTX3070 started making an annoying grating noise, consistently ramping up and stopping completely. I reinstalled the graphics drivers via DDU which didn't seem to work. I also installed MSI Afterburner where I can see the fan speed for both one and two show the same/expected speeds. The tachometer for fan 2 does appear to show the stop-starting which makes me suspect this is a hardware issue, since the fan speeds show the right values. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. Anyway, I was able to remove the GPU where it's quite obvious the fan in question is raised away from the card. I'm able to press the fan back down into place but the spring keeps it from staying there. I'm also able to take the fan completely off the card with zero resistance which I assume isn't supposed to happen since I can't do any of this with the other fan. I can remove the bearing and the spring from the fan, and it looks like there's a second bearing still inside the axle hole. Given all this I'm hoping for some confirmation that the fan is in fact obviously broken, or some advice on what to try next if not. Additionally, if the fan is broken is it feasible for me to order a new fan and install it myself or am I SOL unless I want to get a new card? Or can I potentially fix it without this with what I already have? Any and all advice is welcome IMG_4659.MOV

UPDATE: Ended up getting an aorus master 3080 10g for 400 usd. From what I checked my 9600k should not really bottleneck it too much and i should be able to get the performance i want from it. Thanks everyone for the help! Hiya, this is my first post. I have been thinking of upgrading my GPU and am just sifting through options. However, it is quite hard for me to figure out what is a good deal as performance between cards is hard to measure sometimes as some of the testing videos are 2 years old now and might not be accurate. I am looking for consistent 144fps at 1440p, I usually play at around medium settings, rarely going to high cause I think it just doesn't look as good. Mostly interested in being able to run Warzone 2 at those settings and maybe witcher 3 at 1080p with RT on for the Nvidia cards I am looking at. My rig: I5-9600k (not overclocked, can overclock) 16gb ram 750w 80+ gold power supply Rog Strix 1080 (what I'm looking to upgrade) I have been looking at rx6700xt, 3070, 3070ti and 3080 because prices in my country seem decent put I'm not really sure. This is where I need your help! Currently I am seeing offers at these price points: 3080 - There is one for 400usd but in the ad it says "the fans need to be at 100% otherwise it goes to safety mode" - Aourus card - Most of the others hover around 460usd 3070ti - Between 345 and 400 usd 3070 - Between 316 and 345 usd very rarely one pops up for 287usd Rx6700xt - Around 281 mostly a bit higher price than this Not considering the 6750xt because it hovers around the price of the 3080. There is a 6800xt for around 517 and there may be some wiggle room there but I am not sure if I should try if it is not much better that the 3080 There is also one 6800 for 400usd but the rest hover up to 460usd so quite similar to the 3080. There might be some wiggle room on most of the card but any help based on those prices would be highly appreciated.

I was recently having some power issues with my pc. It wouldn't turn on so I brought it into a pc repair shop to get an estimate. Long story short they recommended that I replace my PSU (Previously had an EVGA 850w 80 plus gold, Now upgraded to EVGA 1000w 80plus gold). They were gonna charge me $250 to replace it, so I decided to just do it myself after watching a few YouTube tutorials. After unplugging everything and replacing a few power cables, I noticed a couple of things. Firstly, they broke my SATA data cable and tried to tape it together with scotch tape. Secondly, I noticed that a few cables from my GPU power adapter were disconnected. (Video Linked Below) Here's my question, is it normal for this 12pin to 8pin adapter to be disconnected like this? For reference I have a NVDIA 3070 FE. 20230626_235814.mp4

Greetings, Need a bit of help deciding between these two GPUs: 1) Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 3060 Ti ELITE 8GB (rev. 2.0) 2) INNO3D GEFORCE RTX 3070 TWIN X2 OC EDIT: I have to go for an Nvidia card as its better for AI applications since my main workload is software development. Which one do you recommend?

Hi everyone, Currently in my Task manager I can see two gpus. One is Intel integrated graphics card and other is my nvidia 3070. I was wondering is it possible to disable any one of the gpu to make sure system is only using one at a time? Some days I have so much office work that I dont have time for gaming and for office work I dont need this gpu. So is it not better that I disable it temporarily from settings like computer management without removing it physically from the cpu? Will disabling it like this work? Will it not use the additional power from PSU? Will it be easy to enable later? I just dont want to get stuck seeing a black screen after disabling it, so wanted to confirm that if I disable it from here will it switch to my Intel integrated gpu automatically? Regards

I recently upgraded my GC to a Gigabyte 3070 8GB Gaming OC, only to later realize I am getting short on its VRAM with maxed out settings on some newer games. Being a Chip level repair tech myself I couldn't help but wonder if we can replace the 1GB chips to 2GB chips and tweaking the BIOS effectively doubling the VRAM. I found a guy who did exactly the same and was successful, but he did it 2 years ago and he faced some issues with the bios. I couldn't find any further development after him. I would love to know if there are any Modders in the community that did or want to pursue this goal for their GPU. Attaching the links I found below, if someone can understand Russian please help me translate his G-Drive and find this updated bios for me. Thanks. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/16gb-rtx-3070-mod https://www.pcgamer.com/modder-gives-rtx-3070-a-16gb-upgrade-before-nvidia-has-the-chance/ link to his youtube video: He also has done the same for many other cards if you check his page. these are are my current PC Specs Gigabyte AUG X470 Ryzen 7 2700x Radeon Powercolor Red devil Rx 580 8 GB 16 GB 3000 mHz and a Antec Edge 750 watt PSU built this in 2019 for upgrading GPU, never could afford to or seemed reasonable but i think its time. i like the fact the 4060ti consumes very less power and remains cooler than 3rd Gen RTX card while giving lot better 0.1% and 1% Frame drops even with DLSS off. but at same time am skeptical of the x8 lane PCIE instead of x16 and 128 instead of 256 bit memory interface, which is lower than my Rx580 but clearly performance wise its a huge upgrade for 40-50% less power usage.

Hello everyone. Recently I ran 3DMark on both of my 3070 cards. My first card (Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle OC) that’s been in the PC for around a year runs pretty hot at full load - sub 85 degrees. My second card (Asus RTX 3070 Dual) that I just put in runs way cooler – sub-70 degrees. There’s plenty of airflow in the case, 3 intake fans, and one exhaust fan. (Deepcool MATREXX 55 MESH ATX Mid Tower) The Gigabyte card has 3 fans, and the Asus one – has 2. Speaking of scores (image below) neither of the cards seems to hit the average score of a 3070. My questions are: Why cant I reach the average score? Could the difference between my scores and average scores be summed up to a margin of error? (100 – 900 less) Is the first 3070 running at 85 degrees vs the second one at sub-70 silicon lottery, or is the hotter card damaged/bad? What’s OC about the Gigabyte card? The only OC thing I see is that heat. One thing that crossed my mind – I’ve installed HD Sentinel and it shows that my Samsung 960 EVO 250 GB is at 42% health (no bad/weak sectors though). Both OS and 3DMark are installed on it. Maybe this could hamper performance. I don't care if it spits out 1000fps these numbers are meaningless to me beyond a solid steady 60fps, if it dips under that then we got a problem, that being said if it's a mid-tier GPU going for more than $350 it's overpriced PERIOD. Moreover, a lot of these "so called": reviews I've come across on other sites that throw up a chart of cost per frame don't even mention frames in what program or game; if averaged, averages of what population of games and at what settings, so much lying going on these days? When it comes to NVIDIA cards and gamers, I see it as: XX90 cards are for whales and hard-core enthusiasts it's OK that they are over $1000 - $2000 for current or prior gens, because that's the target market. XX80 cards are for serious hard-core gamers that will either save up to get it or have a good amount of disposable income, $500 - $800 is where current gen should be & $300 - $500 for prior gen. XX70 cards are for above average casual or serious gamers that want the most bang for their buck and are price conscientious as such $300 - $400 for current gen is the right price and $200 - $300 for prior gen xx60 & xx50 cards are for new gamer, very causal gamers, or those on a seriously tight budget that need the upgrade, nothing in this class should be over $250 for current gen and nothing over $150 for prior gen. Crying Chip Shortage is baloney and hello the Crypto run is over and never coming back! These are just things they say to try and distract you as they rob you blind...just like Cost Per Frame. I hope Intel figures out that they just need to invest heavily into driver development to steal a good portion of the GPU market because the hardware they have is awesome IMO...the potential of teaming the GPU with the intel onboard Graphics in the CPU could be like getting free SLI IMO and add even more value...don't get me wrong I ain't going to rush out and buy an A770 because for me it's all about the drivers...same reason I dumped my Crossfire AMD GPUs back in 2017 and switched to a single NVIDIA GPU solution that was more stable and smoother in its performance. Am I right holding off on getting a new GPU in the XX70 series until I can buy one at around $350 or am I just dreaming?

I’m strongly considering getting rid of my 3070 8gb. Due to all the issues with it not having enough vram and seeing everyone else online debating on if this card is going to last 3 more years. When I first built my pc in August, I had a 3060 12gb oc. A couple of months later, I sold it and brought a 3070 (brought both used on eBay). In hindsight, it kinda of feels stupid, because I had better vram but a slightly less powerful gpu. I didn’t think about the vram. Now I’m playing at 1440p, I don’t have my textures on high but I’m having issues. I feel like if I wait to get rid of this card, I’ll get barely anything for it. If I move up to a 3080 it has to be used because getting for $1k new is crazy. So that mean you have to buy a 4070ti to get a card that doesn’t cost over a thousand. What would you do if you were in my shoes? Yes there’s AMD cards, but I heard Nvidia is better for streaming and video editing which I plan to do eventually

Hey guys, I just switched from a gtx 980 to an rtx 3070. I have a dual monitor setup(One DP input, one DVI). I bought a HDMI to DVI adapter to still be able to use my older monitor as a secondary. But it seems my 3070 cannot output to it. When I check my display settings it recognizes my second monitor but tells me it "isn't active"(When I connect the monitor to my laptop with the same cable it works). Is there a fix to it or do I simply have to buy a new monitor for my new graphics card?

So I just built my new PC, It wouldn't boot until I tried with only 1 stick of RAM. Then I installed windows and the system runs OK. So I tried to put the 2nd stick of RAM and now the system won't even boot, The RAM starts glowing so I know both sticks are getting power but I also get a white LED from the MB, reading the manual it says it's a vga issue, but the graphics card is connected correctly, Y confirmed that by removing the 2nd stick and the system booting correctly. Is there a way to have both sticks of RAM working correctly?
