First impressions I got my Tygr 300 R today and I was very excited to try them out. Packaging is as expected from Beyerdynamic at the price point. No fancy things just straight to the point, they're like, - Here is your headphones. The first thing I realized when picking them up was the weight because they are very light compared to my Hifiman He400se which I daily drive. I haven't really used any lighter headphones since I used my 990 Pros as my dailies. These went bad because I kind of "soldered" or heated up the driver a bit I think causing a quieter sound on the left side and now they're lying somewhere gathering dust. (I changed the cable from coiled to a straight one). I've paired the Tygrs with my Sound Blaster AE-9. One of the reasons I bought these these was because I have had a long lasting problem with my He400se since I got them. The only problem with them is that they have a channel imbalance. I've got a quieter driver on the right side which makes imaging horrid and I have to compensate with Windows settings to kind of balance it out. The problem with that is that the imbalance doesn't go along the whole frequency graph. I think planar magnetics are prone to this, or so I've read. It is not that bad but pretty noticeable. I should've gone for a replacement but I got these as a replacement from my old He400i 2020 that unfortunately broke loose in the 3.5mm port and had no connection. Comfort Anyways. In terms of comfort for the Tygrs, they are very light and clamp perfectly compared to my 990 pros I had. My He400se would be perfect if they were lighter. The headband is perfectly padded and conforms to my head, this is personal in terms of comfort I think. Compared to my He400se the headband is much more soft. Don't get me wrong. The He400se's are comfy in another way just too heavy and it has a hard and narrow headband. Talking about the comfort of the He400se, they have better earpads in terms of shape due to the angled pads, it makes the headphones sit more secure that way for me. The earpads on the Tygr's, stock, are mediocre because of the harder padding and narrow space between the ears and driver wall. I think I will eventually switch them out for Dekoni elite velour, please if anyone tried that let me know the differences. Build quality These are built well enough to handle most things. These are both plastic and metal. The headband is metal with fake leather around it, metal yokes and the grill is also metal. The rest is plastic. They do feel hefty and durable. The pads are mediocre and I feel like they will flatten like my old 990 pros did. Sound The frequency response of the Tygr's non-EQ'd is very good and is my preference in sound signature. I like to add around 3dBs to the sub-bass and flatten out the curve/dip in the bass in the 60hz region for some music because I mostly listen to hardstyle, happy hardcore, eurodance, and a whole lot more EDM and some rock. I also EQ'd around 1k and 4k to add more detail in the mids and lower treble which they responded well to. So actually talking about the sound. The Tygrs are a more smoothed-out pair of DT990 pros with a better soundstage with a little bit less detail. The way I could describe them is that they are a bit on the bloaty side in the mid-bass for people who love Sennheisers or very flat headphones. These are smooth and punchy, still maintain detail, and great at imaging with good layering. They don't have as an open/expansive soundstage as the 400se but sadly, the soundstage is more congested in a way on the 400se compared to a more deep/layered one on the Tygrs. The Tygrs have a different and lower tone in their openness compared to the 400se which makes them "immersive" when I play games or listen to euphoric tracks. The actual difference in bass mids and highs is big because of the difference in the nature of dynamic and planar drivers. The 400se are much more clear and transparent and have a better representation of clean and fast bass but the quantity is very low. The Tygrs have more bass that almost drowns out too much mids but still retains a decent amount. One of the biggest differences in bass comparing dynamic and planar is the speed. The bass is definitely more punchy on dynamics so far as I can hear and know. The treble on these are good and not at all sibilant anymore as the 990's. Treble is also comparable to the 400se in quantity. These have a small cushion on the driver wall to help drown out the highs that are piercing which is good. My pair of He400se's actually have a grainy treble for me which is kind of expected with the pricetag maybe? The way I look at both of these is that they are good for different things as all headphones are. But the Tygrs for me are better because of a more suitable signature and overall sound for me, and they are more comfortable. I just wish I didn't have that problem with my He400se. Any thoughts or questions?

G'day, I'm setting up a video editing workstation and am looking at a mid range case. Currently half-settled on the Corsair 300R, but wanted to get a second opinion, in terms of any issues or dislikes about the case. Personally, the 100R and the 200R are a little too cheap in terms of aesthetics, but anything too much higher is a tad out of budget at the moment. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Cheers.

So im in the market for a new pc case, one with good airflow, 2 front intake fans is a must and preferably space for a side fan. The Corsair Carbide 300r looks really good, it pretty much perfectly fits the bill only problem is i have heard it can be quite a loud case due to all the open vents on it, especially the ones on the top. Does anybody know of any alternative cases they could recommend?

I am in the middle of building my first PC. I have the Corsair 300R case. I have noticed that there are not any proper standoffs in my case - There are 8 small things around the edge with 1 actual standoff in the middle. I am unsure how these are supposed to work. Please could somebody (preferably somebody who has used a case like this before) explain to me in detail how this is supposed to work. I just don't want to accidentally break anything. Thanks very much.

Hi. I am in the middle of making my first ever build. I am currently trying to put in the USB 3.0 headers connecting the front to the back. However, I don't think I have anywhere to plug in the USB 3.0 header, it is WAY too large and doesn't even look like a USB, but it connects to the USB 3.0 at the front. I have a Corsair 300R (windowed), and an MSI 970A-G46. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. Sorry if this seems really stupid, this is my first ever build. PS: I would post pictures but I am unsure how to, so any helping shedding light on how to would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks.

Want to buy an aio 240mm to go in my 300r build but I've heard mixed things about what will fit! Just want to find out what people have managed to fit in the 300r, I almost purchased a H100 but some say it fits and others say not Thanks in advance

I'm trying to keep my PC as dust free as possible since it can get pretty dusty where it will be (build is in progress). The 300r (from what I've seen from reviews) comes with front intake filters and even a bottom filter, but no top panel filter. I've searched a bit and have had no luck on something like a custom cut out filter. I was hoping I could get some suggestions that won't be air flow restricting, but keep dust from falling in from the top panel.

So I just picked up a Corsair Carbide 300R for my upcoming build. While the build quality is solid and it feels like I could load it up without worrying about the case flexing, I did notice one thing that concerned me a bit: the side panels don't seem to sit completely flush. Any other 300R owners run into this problem? Any remedies/suggestions? It's not a huge concern, but I don't want the case's airflow to be potentially hindered by loose panels.

Green Menace I built my first system over in Desember, it consisted of a 3700k and an Asus 670 2GB. It had ok cable menagement in the Coolermaster HAF X and it didnt make alot of noise with the Coolermaster v8 cooler. This is what it looked like: A few months after i felt it was getting a bit slow for my needs in gaming as i like to max out all games and run with a minimum of 60fps. It was also a bit too heavy to bring to lan partys like "The Gathering" in norway and i wanted a smaller and better looking case. So i recently bought a few new parts. List: Corsair H100i 5xCorsair 120mm SP fans Corsair Carbide 300r (no window yet, keeping sidepanel off) 2 x Msi GTX 780 3GB Corsair 860w PSU with green sleeved cables. I spent a few hours getting the radiator to fit in the top of the case as the motherboard, even with the thermal shielding removed, didnt let me use the standard mounting holes for fans in the top. So i improvised :P) The cable management, even though there isnt really a lot of holes or room for it, is excelent. I chose not to add any LED strips yet because its very "flashy" for my taste but im considering white LEd strips. So with nothing more to talk about, this is what it looks like:

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if you guys could tell me if there is any real difference between the Corsair Carbide 300R and the Corsair Carbide 400R? In the links provided the 300R has a window (big plus to me) and it was the case I am thinking of getting and have been thinking of getting for a while, but as its brother the 400R is $7 more i was wondering if its a better case or is noticeably better. Also is there any case within that price range that is better and I can't do ITX or MATX right now. Hello there, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster, just made an account after being inspired by the recent Livestream and the builds of the week. I'm a relative novice to the modding scene but I have had 2 previous cases (NZXT Phantom and Lanboy Air) which ive done minor mods to. Now then, I've just bought a Corsair 300R as a sort of project case to mod and play around with while getting used to new ideas. I'll be slowly updating but for now i've installed a luminous red tinted top window in the case. I've also replaced the stock fans with Red 120mm Coolmaster Sickflow fans. I'm going for a Red Black and possibly White, although i will decide on that soon, Colour scheme. If the case turns out well and people like it, i'll more than likely transfer my build over despite the 300R being considered an entry level case. Here's the Picture of the case in its current state. http://i.imgur.com/xTBa6yH.jpg It still needs a bit of touching up, its not secure yet and needs some edges touching up jagged edges filing etc. In case anyone is interested these are my previous modded cases, nothing flash but meh. Phantom http://i.imgur.com/jqHMpQI.jpg Lanboy Air http://i.imgur.com/5CWPZJG.jpg Oh and apologies for the mess of wires etc! Let me know what you think and recommend some suggestions if you can, any feedback is good feedback. thanks

Whats up guys! So this is the start of project Desire! So this project is going to be based around a Corsair 300r. Yes, a small 'budget' case. But my mission is to take a lower end case and fit all the things a high end build would have, and still look tasteful. This build will, eventually, be cooled by a custom water loop. Emphasise on the eventually. I am only a student, therefore rely on earning my money from a part time job: but i am on summer holiday therefore i can work loads and earn the money i need. At least thats the plan. So as mentioned above, funds are limited. Therefore this project log may stretch for a while. Not years, but maybe months. I am going to start by performing the case mods, because they're the cheapest, and most fun. But i also already have a system for the time being. So at the moment, expect lots of mod updates, and in the future lots of hardware updates. Below i have put together a list of the components that I plan to use. But this list is subject to change. The Parts: Case - Corsair 300R Motherboard: Gigabyte z87-UD3H or Asus z87 Sabertooth CPU - Intel Haswell i5 4670K RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro (So Sexy) PSU - Anything above 700W GPU - Either a 770 or a 670 Storage - Already own a 60gb ocz SSD, either 2x samsunjg 840 120gb pro's or 1x kingston 240gb Cooling: Cpu Block: EK Supreme LTX Copper Acetal WB GPU Block: EK FC670 CSQ Copper Acetal WB & EK FC670 CSQ Backplate Reservoir: Bitspower Z-Multi 250mm Water Tank Res : Clear Pump: 12V DDC Pump Radiator: XSPC RS360 360mm Rad & XSPC RS240 240mm Rad Tubing: Chromed Copper Pipes These parts will change, especially the cooling parts, as i cant predict where i will be funds wise and what will best suit my needs. The original Case: This is a picture of the stock 300R, just incase you havent come across it before. Overall its a pretty nice case. For £60 you get what you pay for and a little more. When I first bought this case i was like woah £60 is a little dear. I've never paid more than 30. But i don't regret the spend and definitely wouldn't spend a dime less in the future. I'm not going to write a full review cause theres plenty out there, but its a pretty solid case as far as features go. The Vision: Now, i'm no sketchup pro, therefore i stayed as far away as possible. Instead i went to what i know, Photoshop. Some of these renders are a little sketchy but they are only to give you an idea of my vision. So here are a couple sketches i've put together of what i intend to do, and a little description to help explain my ideas. The Front Panel: So this is my proposed front panel. I am going to use a piece of aluminum to cover the original front panel. There is going to be alot of rounded corners in this build, hence the rounded triangles. So for the mesh im going to use the original front panel mesh on the 300R, because i like the silver corsair logo and want to keep it. For the black acrylic, you guessed it, im going to use an opaque black acrylic. I dont really want this to act as a window, hence the opaque acrylic rather than smoked. Also i am relocating the usb and headphone ports, just because i think they look better on the side. Side Panel - So again with the rounded corners. Ive split the window into 2 sections, just because i think it makes it look a bit cooler. Unlike the front acrylic this is going to be smoked. So when the system is off, you cant see in, but when lights are on you can. Up top your probably wondering what is protruding out. Unfortunately, corsair didnt really design this chasis to fit a H100/radiator up top. So instead of just having fans or a rad planted on top, i thought id make a feature out of it. So im going to be using metal spacers to elevate a piece of black acrylic up, and then extend the roof section to accomodate a 360 radiator, currently only holes and space for a 240mm. This elevation technique will also be used on the side panel windows, dont ask why i just think it will look cool. Theres also some other features that im going to be vague about until actually doing, just because im not 100% on the design yet. Inside - So this is ,obviously by far, the most vague render. I couldnt really envision it in photoshop so i thought id go barbones and just show a vague layout. The res placing is almost definite. Unless i come across problems down the line. But the loop, flow etc is all just ideas. I am going to use alu or acrylic to section off the bottom and front, removing the drive cages and 5.25" bays. This will make room for a 240 in the front. So those are the main ideas and things that i am going to do. I hope you like! If anyone has any ideas/improvements, please feel free to leave your suggestions down below! I have already made a start on the front panel and the sectioning of the internals, so expect an update soon! And heres a rough little render of it all put together: Thanks for looking :D

I know this subject has been brought up before and I know that the the 800D and 600T grommets will fit the 300R. What I would like to know is if the grommet set for the 350D will fit the 300R. I sent Corsair this question and was simply told to get the set for the 600T,I feel like thats the generic answer they give everyone. The reason I ask is because the price difference in the sets one is $15.99 the other is $3.99. Does anyone have access to both a 350D and 300R? 600T set http://www.corsair.com/us/parts/case-parts/rubber-grommets-for-obsidian-series-600t.html 800D set http://www.corsair.com/us/parts/case-parts/rubber-grommets-for-obsidian-series-800d.html 350D set http://www.corsair.com/us/parts/case-parts/350d-grommet-kit.html

Hi guys I'm new to this forum and I really need help. As the title says I'm planning on doing this huge case mod because when I got my new case (300r) I didin't realize I wanted to water cool. As most of you know the 300r is a fairly budget oriented case and its radiator support is terrible. My idea to get around this problem was to build a alluminium box on top of the PC and put all the radiators in the (1 or 2 360mm radiators and 1 240mm radiator) in the box. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and I wonder if it would be easier just to get a better case because I think making it would be hard and whether it would even work. Making it would be hard for me because I don't have access to high end tools. On the other hand getting a new case would be expensive and would cause me putting off water cooling for a while. As far as I can tell no one has done this before because they think about the car they get and don't cheap out on it like me. By the way my specs are: Fx8350 R9 290 8gb ram 500gb hard drive Gigabyte mobo 300r

Hello everyone! So I'm completely new to pc building, but I decided I want to build a great all around PC that I will be able to game, stream, record, and edit video on. At this point, I'm torn between starting off with an i5 4690k or the i7 4790k. I do plan on doing a little overclocking at some point, and I'm currently attempting to keep it a red and black color scheme (willing to sacrifice for performance, though). For the mobo, I definitely want the z97 chipset, probably Asus or MSI, but I thought some feedback here would be helpful. I'm starting off with the Corsair Carbide 300R windowed. I know that limits my water cooling options, but I would like to have some sort of water cooling, hopefully a closed loop like the Corsair H80i. OR, should I go with a nicer air cooler? I'm not super worried about airflow because this case is very open and has room for LOTS of fans. Another place that I don't have a clue where to begin is with the graphics card. I have read multiple reviews, and reports on what you should and shouldn't do with video cards, but I think that I will probably need to get a decent card or two cards for this build. I'm likely only going to use two monitors with a potential for a third down the road, so that may also affect the GPU decision. As far as storage goes, I know I'm getting an SSD and a HDD, just waiting to see what I can afford once I get the other pieces . Here's what I have so far: -Corsair Carbide 300R (windowed) - G. Skill TridentX DDR3 2400 (2x4) This build is still essentially a blank slate, so I am open to all feedback and ideas. Looking to keep the computer build (before peripherals) between $900-$1100.

I've just finished my rig: i7 4770k, R9 290 tri-x, 16gb Corsair Vengeance, Asus Z97 PRO, Corsair RM750, Carbide 300r, Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo, 120Gb samsung 840 evo, 2tb WD green Now I have 4 case fans 2 x 140 that came with the case and 2 x 120 AF quiet edition. Rightnow I have a neutral config with 140mm front intake 120mm side intake and an 140mm rear exhaust 120mm top exhaust. My question is, will the temperature of system get better if I change the top exhaust to put that fan as a second front intake considering that I have an 212 evo and an open air Gpu ?

Sorry if you don't understand something because my english is not good as it could be. Also I don't have good camera so I'll have to take all pics with my phone :) So what do you think about my build?

I've been wanting a new case for quite some time to allow for better airflow and easy cable management. After lots of research and Linus's insight, I decided on the 300R since is had most of the things I was looking for within my price range.
