Hey All, So I've been dealing with an issue for about the last year where my PC would crash under heavy CPU and GPU loads consistently, and sometimes in games. My specs are: Threadripper 3960x EVGA RTX 3080ti FTW3 64GB DDR4 3200 (8x8) and a bunch of NVMe Drives and SSDs Anyway, when I put in the 3080ti I swapped out my 850W EVGA GT for 1000W EVGA GT. The reason I upped the power supply is because my computer started crashing under load. No blue screen or anything, just a no signal on my monitor until i either force shut down or if I left it alone for long enough, it would restart eventually. Swapping to the 1000W seemed to have helped for a while, but every now and then, I would get the same no signal issue. Since I had just swapped out the PSU, I decided to RMA my GPU... It would behave for a while, then eventually start happening again. It's inconsistent in games, but I can almost make it happen every time by running FurMark and Cinebench R23 on a loop. Exhausting all my warranties, I RMA'd my RAM, same thing. I'm currently waiting on an RMA for the PSU, which I'm almost positive won't help, but hey, that's what warranties are for, right? Anyway, after I install the replacement PSU, my next move is going to be upgrading my Power Supply. What it looks like is happening is something is spiking and pulling my power usage up from around 830W up to around 1000W before the crash. I have my system connected to a UPS so it shows me the power it's pulling as it cycles through it's display. Everytime it crashes its up near 1000W when I last see it. I like EVGA and am intrigued by the 1000G FTW because of it's ability to provide 2.5x it's rated power for short durations and it's ATX 3.0, but at the same time it's only 1000W. Which leads me to the 1300W GT, but with my experience with the last two GT models, maybe I should look elsewhere. I'd like to go ATX 3.0 for when I eventually upgrade my GPU, but not really sure which way to go. Is the NZXT C1200 any good? Should I go for a 1300W Seasonic? Do any PSU Models have integration with software to see how much each rail is providing and total power usage? Really looking for recommendations of PSU's people have used/are using and the pros/cons of them. The C1200 and the GT 1300 are attractive because they're around $250, but maybe its worth paying a bit more for some bells and whistles? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! -Gin

I've built a few PCs in the past without any issues, but a few weeks ago I decided to build a new one. New parts used are: Asus ROG Strix B560i, Asus TUF 3070Ti OC, Intel I5-11600k, Coolermaster SFX V850. And the reused parts are: 2x 8gb Hyper X Predator 3200mhz, Crucial 500g NVMe, Samsung QVO 1TB. The problem I am having is the card isn't outputting anything, when using the integrated graphics the computer works fine, and when using my old GPU(RTX 2060) it also works perfectly fine. But when I try use the new GPU the screen doesn't receive a signal. Because of this I sent it back to overclockers where I hoped they would test it, find an issue and send back a working GPU. But when they tested it they found no issues. They sent it back and I tried it again but to no avail. I then tried using one monitor using the GPU and the other using the integrated graphics, aswell as the GPU monitor still not receiving any signal, I was now getting a blue screen after a few seconds of it being on the desktop with a clock_watchdog_timeout, an issue often attributed to the GPU. I have found a couple forum posts with this issue but never a solution, most just say they replaced it with another card and that was it. All software is up to date and relevant drivers are installed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks Ducknee.

Legion 5 pro 3070 mobile- 140W 5800h 32ram (I totally recommend this laptop ) - doesn't have fan control sadly Everything worked fine GPU @140W all the time no problem Then I decided to reinstall OS - win10 -> win10 Now every program, Nvidia overlay, HWinfo etc. reports 115W max +- 3W Can't get it to go higher than that. BUT Every observable thing stayed the same FPS, Frametimes, even Hashrate on eth Memory clock seem to be @6000 more frequently than before Boost clocks seem to be about the same to bit lower , temps may be lower slightly Yes am in the performance mode, plugged in, temps well within range, fully up to date .... even installed official lenovo gpu drivers So did I break something or is Lenovo not honest

Hello, I'm fairly new to the whole PC gaming and I'm wanting to build a new PC. My friend, who is more experienced, suggested I wait until June when the RTX 3000 series should be released. What do people suggest I do? I'm wanting to buy the 2060S as that card is perfectly in my budget of around £1000. However, my friend said to wait as the prices may drop but is it worth waiting? Also, would the lowest RTX 3000 series be presumably around the same price as the 2060S? If the 2060S is the same price as the 3060 then it would be worth waiting but if they're going to be more then there is no point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

New Gaming PC Build | Please Check If Any Good!
Mr Penguin posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello everyone, been planning to make a new build for some time now (trying to figure out what to get) and I have posted a forum on here and got quite far, I also then explored on some other forums and came up with these builds: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Finley_Crofts/saved/#view=dQcb8d (Please say if this doesn't work.) There are four builds there and my budget is around £1200 UK, however, I have decided to start a build at a very weird time for the market as AMD are releasing some new stuff, etc, so I am just posting again to see if the build is good for the value and if I was going to make an intel version what would you go for in CPU wise as I am not that good with Intel. I have gone for a 2700x as I will be doing a lot of gaming however I will be doing heavy editing, etc, I have already got my HHDS with me so I am just buying a 1tb SSD for some more storage (faster loading times). I have been told to wait for the new 3000 series and get a full-sized ATX b500 board for when they come out however just want to know if it is worth the wait and if it is, does anyone know some hints for the release date? My original colour scheme was black and white so I want to try and stick with that theme, however, if you can not no worries. (Will be some case fans as well, NOT PLANNING ON OC ANYTIME SOME!) This is my first pc build so any tips I will appreciate it, please don't be harsh on me if the build is, well you know, crap. Thank You for your time Have a Great Day Finley Crofts -
So I've been looking into getting a R5 3600 to replace my R5 1600, I've also been looking into changing my CPU cooler as I'm planning on over-clocking the 3600 as far as it will go while still being stable. I've been thinking of getting the dark rock pro 4 to replace my Cryorig H5 universal because I've heard really good things about it (mostly that it runs practically silent) however i'm a little on the fence about it because by current cooler is can handle up to 160W TDP so I think that the dark rock pro 4 might be a little overkill and I'm honestly not sure if buying a new cooler will be strictly worth it so I'm open to all suggestions. EDIT: my case is the NZXT S340 (I know the dark rock doesn't "technically" fit but I have seen pictures of it in my case with the side panel shut)

Hello together, i have currently a 1080Ti and the 1920x Threadripper. I know the 3080 has PCIE 4.0 and my threadripper dont, but will it take that much performace? Is it so a worthy upgrade? Thanks for respond. Paul

Hi, So I currently have a i5 6600k and I'm overall happy with my system and don't really want to replace the whole pc.. But I'm still using a gtx 1070 fe. I'm wondering what would be the best card I could go for to replace this with without having to replace the cpu. I will do that at some point.. But probably not for another year or 2. Im currently using an asus PG279QE, so it's being used for 1440p at 165hz. Would I be able to use the new 3080 or is that too much and if so could I get away with the 3070? Thanks

So from what we’ve seen from the rtx 3000 series reveal was that the 3070 will overpower the 2080ti by a slight margin making it the upcoming “strongest low-end” gpu. Now we know that the ryzen 7 3800x can overpower some gpus as of now but it isn’t noticeable as a bottleneck, so if we pair a 3070 with a 3800x will it be considered the best cpu gpu combo?

Budget (including currency): $1000 est. (can stretch it a bit if necessary) Country: United Stated of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Dirt Rally 2.0, Project Cars 2, CS:GO, Forza 7, Forza Horizon 4, Far Cry 5, Minecraft, Half-Life: Alyx (future), Cyberpunk 2077 (future), Elder Scrolls VI (future), Adobe Lightroom (basic edits); basically any racing game or RPG, I don't play competitively I just like my games to look pretty and run smooth Current Build: [i7-4790K, 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1888 MHz, AsRock z97 Extreme6, Gigabyte GTX 1070, Samsung 850 250GB SSD (OS), Samsung 500GB SSD (main games), Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200RPM HDD (everything else), Corsair RM 650X PSU, Corsair Carbide 275r case, Corsair RGB fans, Cool Master CPU fan, AOC 31.5" 1440p 75Hz monitor] Planned Upgrade(s): [CPU (AMD <or Intel> 6 core/12 thread or 8 core/16 thread), MOBO (whichever works w/ new CPU), RAM (32GB DDR4 2800MHz or higher in dual or quad channel), GPU (Nvidia 3070/3080), PSU (if needed), Monitor (1080p 21:9 100Hz+ or 1440p 21:9 100Hz+] Timeline: 6 month (ideally Christmas) TL:DR - I need smart people to tell me what to do for Nvidia 3000 series GPUs to work on my PC and not bankrupt myself. Hey everyone, I'd like some expert opinions on whether I should upgrade my existing PC to be compatible with the new 3000 series GPUs that are about to launch. I've got my current build and planned upgrades listed above. Here's a quick summary of the situation: I plan on getting one of the new GPUs when they launch and am undecided on if I should upgrade everything else or not. I've eyeballed the current Ryzen 5 3600/3600X as a CPU upgrade since my i7-4790K is about 7+ years old. To go along with this, I'd need a new motherboard and RAM since anything current is using DDR4 not DDR3. As I stated above, I don't game competitively and mostly play single player racing or RPG games. I'll occasionally hop on CG:GO to play with friends and will likely be getting Rocket League and Call of Duty since that's what a lot of my co-worker's play. I currently have a 1440p 75Hz monitor, but would like to changeover to a 21:9 1080p monitor with a refreshrate of 100Hz or higher (ideally 144Hz). I know those are less common then 1440p 21:9 monitors so I'm considering one of those too, even though 1440p gaming is a bit more demanding. In the future I'd like to get a VR setup (maybe Oculus or Valve Index if I can afford it...) but have no plans to game on 4K/8K. I just want my games to run smoothly on max/high settings (60+ FPS). Like I said, I mainly care about my games looking good. So the input I'd like from you more experienced folk (this is my first build from 4 years ago, so I'm still very new to this) is whether or not my current setup will be able to handle the the new 3000 series GPUs, and which one I should consider purchasing for my current play styles. Will a 3070 be good enough and future proof for my VR plans or should I step up to the 3080 even though I likely won't be gaming any higher than 1080p (or 1440p if necessary)? Additionally, if I need to upgrade my hardware, which would be the best combo for me to get? Here's what I've currently got planned: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor ASRock B550M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory I'm assuming a stronger PSU would be required too, so what would be a good one to jump up to, a 750W or higher? Thank you for the feedback! If I'm way overshooting with my upgrade plans feel free to suggest alternatives (i.e. Ryzen 7 2700X instead of a Ryzen 5 3600X). I'd just like to refresh my PC since the new stuff coming out is going to be insane! - Connor P.S. Sorry for the long write-up... P.P.S. If I do offload my current internals, what would be a fair price to ask for the CPU, MOBO, RAM, GPU, and Vivo Titan full-tower ATX case (black w/ blue LED fans)? (Picture for attention)
