1. Budget & Location Hello to the community reading this, my budget is $1000 and the location where I will be buying parts is in the United States I am willing to go above the budget price point by $100 no higher than that because shipping and warranty will definitely boost my costs to $1200+ 2. Aim The system I’m aiming to build is a Gaming Pc that can handle indie games like Stardew, Gungeon, Gmod, DST, and other well known games like League of Legends and CS:GO. For anyone wondering the desired settings I wish to play these games at is 1080p 130+ FPS at high-Max settings, but I am also wanting to play some more AAA titles like life is strange 2, The Walking Dead Overkill, GrandTheft Auto V, Rainbow Six Siege and other titles at med to very high settings with solid 80+ FPS at 1080p 3. Monitors I am only using one monitor and will only be using one monitor, 4. Peripherals I do need all peripherals from a mouse to a keyboard to a headset for my competitive gaming. Also I plan to buy an OS key from kinguin but want to ask if it’s reliable. 5. Why are you upgrading? I am discarding my laptop after 7 years as for me it’s outdated and would be more of a hassle than building a new Desktop. About a year ago, I completed my first build and am satisfied with it to this day. I enjoyed building it so much, that I'm anticipating my next build. Due to recent personal issues, I'm in the process of joining the military. Since I am planning on giving my first build to a family member, I'm planning out my second build. I know it's not right to be bias with computers and computer components but I'm heavily favored towards AMD for my processor and Graphics Card. Every computer I've owned have had either an AMD CPU, Graphics Card or Both. Due to my familiarity with AMD and how reliable their products have been to me, I've decided to build myself a "Red Machine". I post this to seek advice to ways to either improve this plan or things I'll need to be cautious about with this build. This will be started after I finish training for the military though so no rush necessary. As an quick note before i go into the Build, I am extremely hesitant about using liquid cooling system and overclocking. I've heard if Liquid cooling systems are installed incorrectly, they can create a new point of failure in the system and may damage the rest of the components. I'm not too keen on overclocking my system either because I'm not really much for pushing my system to the extreme where it could cause damage to it. On that note, Here's the build Plan. Hello. This is my first post on this forum, found the Youtube build video's helpful. I am currently running on my first build which is as follows CPU: AMD A10-5700 Trinity 3.4GHz (4.0 turbo) MOBO: Asus F2A850v PRO MEM: Adata XPG V2 8G (2x4) HDD: WD Black 1Tb 7200rpm 64MB cache 3.5in. CASE: Corsair 540 air black GPU: EVGA GTX 660 FTW 2Gb PSU: Seasonic 750w modular 80 + gold CPU COOLER: Corsair hydro h110i 280mm radiator W/ dual noctual 140mm fans Cougar orange case fans (1500 rpms? who can tell) OS: Windows 7 64 pro. Far as I know, everything is running at full. Seems to be running fine other than the odd Catalyst Control Center error message I get at start up because I'm using an Nvidia gpu instead of Radeon. I am currently planning a switch to Intel because AMD just gives me that feeling that you get when you buy a used car off some dude on craigslist, kinda iffy. The purpose for this post is to ask for recommendations for a motherboard, set of ram, processor, and an ssd. (maybe sound card, not sure if they offer any help in gaming in processing the sound). I plan for this to be a gaming/school computer but a bit overkill for both, maybe not 11, but 10.75 on the volume scale (currently this system gets 5.9 windows experience due to the HDD being a HDD and not an SSD, otherwise minimum 7.2 on the CPU). I plan on doing a lot of BF4 on ultra high, and ALOT of Minecraft world editing and voxel sniping. I would like something that can overclock. My issue with my current motherboard is that I just don't think its exactly right. It says that it can run 4.0 turbo, but I have no idea how to tell if it is when I am in game, and I am still heavily dissatisfied with my render distance on minecraft (I would like to be able to max out optifine). Now my goal is to end up with dual GPU (probably another 660 for now, then down the road upgrade to dual 780's) SLI, an overclocked (nothing too extreme) processor, a fast set of at least 16 gigs of ram, and rounded all off with a good SSD. My budget is limited but this is a long term planned switchover, so I will be buying the motherboard, processor, and SSD first. I would like to stay under 300$ on the motherboard, and the same for the cpu and ssd. As for the ram I would prefer 2x8gb to start off with so I can add another 16 and end up with 32. I do not plan on doing a custom water cooling loop, at least not for a good while (definitely someday). I am partial to the Crucial tactical tracer ram. I appreciate any help this community can give me, thank you.
