X13 G1 Yoga I5-10310U 16GB 450usd Lenovo X1 YOGA G3 i7-8650U 16gb 370usd Hi, so I am on a tight budget and looking for a 2-in-1 laptop for university that will last for the next 3 years. After reading about problems with hinges in many models, I am considering these 2 options. My questions are: Performance-wise, is there a huge gap between the i7-8650U and i5-10310U? Which one would you recommend? Are the hinges really durable in these models? Should I save up and buy something with a newer CPU? Do you have any other recommendations? I can stretch my budget to 600 USD if it's really worth it. How they work with linux. Is palm rejection working fine with pen? Does keyboard detach in tablet mode? Why 2-in-1? It's a really convenient option. Being able to switch between using a stylus for handwriting in one class and using the keyboard for note-taking is a deal-breaker for me.

Hello guys, could u help me? My friend is concerned, if he will not break his new 2in1 notebook because of the fact, that it can move monitor in 360°. Thanks. Specifically: https://www.lenovo.com/cz/cs/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-flex-series/IdeaPad-Flex-5-14ARE-05/p/88IPF501453 (if someone, who owns it wrote review, I would be glad)

Hey there, I want to buy a new laptop for my private usecase and i am stuggeling to find the right one. Maybe someone can give me advise or help me out. Thanks in advance At the moment the priorities are: Touchscreen for taking notes with a pencil about 1440p, therefore a 60Hz panel should be okay costs under 1.5k€ if possible nice Interface so no tongle is needed At the moment the only 2 in 1 which achieves these points is the new ASUS ExpertBook B7 Flip B7402FEA-L90074R also it got 2 Thunderbolt 4, so gaming can be achieved with an eGPU if i want in the future. Also it´s upgradeable, with storge m.2 and Ram But i could not find any reviews of it. Any thoughts on that topic or this 2in1; are there better ones? should i wait? Again Thanks for the help

So, my school laptop. I can’t believe I’m doing a review on this. This laptop is fine, but not the best. It has a PENTIUM in it lol and it has UHD 605 iGPU, like bruh. Let’s talk about the pros of this laptop. It is decent for school work and can play Minecraft: Education Edition fine at like 8-12 chunks. It’s storage is the best thing lol. It has a 128GB M.2 SSD from Samsung. It is even NVME! It is actually a pretty fast SSD. The model is the PM991. The display is IPS, so good viewing angles, fine brightness for indoors. And decent speakers. The trackpad is not good, but a better one. Now the cons. It’s RAM is 4GB, like bruh. It’s DDR4-2400 RAM. The display is only 1368 x 768, so lower resolution. The webcam, let’s not talk about that. The processor is slow, iGPU is fine I guess. WiFi is, meh. This thing has Windows 10 Education, which is fine I guess. In conclusion, this laptop is good for school, not for gaming. Rating: 6.5/10. Need better processor and GPU!!!!

Hi all, I just bought Lenovo Yoga 500-14ISK and i would like to exchange battery since old one is weak in capacity and holds just for minutes. I opened up laptop and found L14M2P21 battery with 30Wh, 7.4VDC and 4050mAh. While searching online I found that there is option with same PN L14M3P21 but with 45Wh, 11.1VDC (link to amazon: https://www.amazon.com/BOWEIRUI-L14M3P21-Replacement-L14L3P21-L14M2P21/dp/B07T5XGVW9) Can I use this higher voltage battery in my laptop? Did someone try this already? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I have been meaning to buy a laptop for college(law) and I wanted a 2 in 1. Currently my option are the lenovo 9i 14' (11th gen i7, 16gb ram,512ssd, 1920 x1080, fhd) and the dell xps13 2in1(11th gen i5, 8gb ram, 256ssd, 1920 x 1200fhd), I would appreciate advice or options. Hello, I am looking for a decent Convertable or 2in1 which can replace my Lenovo Yoga 530. I like it but it's just not powerful enough to run win11 and so I will repurpose it as my new Linux machine. I would use it with Linux as a daily driver but my school requires windows (or apple) for some programs and I don't have time to get a workaround in Linux. I am on a smaller budget but also like to do some occasional gaming and programming so it would be nice if it lasts me a couple of years before I need a replacement once again. Most importantly I need a model with good touch and pen support and if possible. I would enjoy a Numpad but I think that's not feasible (maybe a virtual on the jkluio789 keys like some Thinkpad's do...). A had a look at the HP Elite Dragonfly lineup but they are quite expensive if I have enough RAM and a beefy CPU I can spend a bit more so I can save in the future. I'm excited to hear your tips, advice and recommendations.

Basically the laptop isn't for me but a friend of mine and they would like a laptop that has a good battery life as well as a gpu since they wanna get into video editing. Their max price is $1600 but would prefer $1500 or below. I would look for myself but i have been out of the loop on laptops for a year or more and I don't have the time to watch all the reviews for them. I know you guys would know this faster than I can type lttstore.com. Anyway thanks in advance guys!

Hey, so I have the Acer Switch 3 2 in 1 and it has a passive cooling. The Pentium N4200 never goes above 50-55 C however it termal throttles once in a while (when doing sth heavy in regards to the weak cpu it is and the hd graphics - gaming and rendering). Thing is this CPU has a Tjmax of over 100 C. Is it possible for me to adjust the thermal framework so that it wouldn't throttle at 50% of it's Tjmax? I'd like to adjust it so that it would start trottling above 65-70 C then it would still never hit it's Tjmax and might never even throttle since it's a very efficient cpu and may never even go above 70 even if the limit was removed... I just want +10 to +15 C room of turbo boost window... If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks! There's nothing related to this in the BIOS which is why I wrote a post and I am aware that it's not cool for the battery. P.S. Sorry if the category is wrong, couldn't decide which is the most appropriate.

I am starting college this year and I'm looking to get a 2in1 laptop. I've done some research and the laptops that most piqued my interest were the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Microsoft Surface Book, or the Lenovo Yoga 720. I have considered the XPS 13 2in1 and Lenovo Yoga 900 but I've heard they have heating problems and loud fans. I'm unsure of which of the 3 to pick. Any other recommendations would be great too, or if you have any experience with any of these 2in1's. My needs would be to take notes, go on the internet, and do some 3D modeling on the go. It doesn't really need to run games, it just needs to be able to render without slow render rates. I am going to have a desktop too but that's mainly for games and more intensive rendering. My budget is around $1,500. Microsoft Surface Pro 4 I really like the the style of the Pro, the problem being the price. If I were to get this one it'd have to be an i7 model with only 8gb of ram just to keep it in the $1,500 range. I also like being able to turn it into a tablet/ the detachable keyboard. https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/productID.5072641000?VID=5089074700 Microsoft Surface Book The Surface Book, to me, looks like a nicer Surface Pro. The problem is, again, they're so damn expensive. If I were to go with this one it'd be an I5 model, 8gb ram, 256gb SSD. I like the whole tablet/keyboard separation and the design looks really nice. The specs are underwhelming, but it is also cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M0SF1HY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1491168993&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=microsoft%2Bsurface%2Bbook&dpPl=1&dpID=51ROjh6QB4L&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1 Lenovo Yoga 720 I like this one because the specs are pretty great. I7, 16 gig ram, Nvidia 1050m. The $1,500 brings all of that. The reason why this one isn't the main choice is because I really like the tablet/keyboard split rather than the folding back. I also like the pens Microsoft laptops bring. http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/yoga/700-series/yoga-720-15/?action=testB I'm also not sure how they perform in real world use since good specs don't always mean good laptop. Any other suggestions would be great.

I was looking for a light weight 2 in 1 I could use everyday to stream media and take notes in class. I found a deal on Asus transformer book T100TAF for 169Euros (about 179$). It has win10, 1366 x 768 screen, intel atom Processor Z3735F, 1.33 GHz 4 cores, 2Gb of ram and 32Gb eMMC. I was worried, because some reviewer said that it take a very long time to charge (about 7 hrs). Does anyone have this 2 in 1 and could inform me about this? Also, is having eMMC instead of ssd so noticeable in daily usage?

Hey, I'm looking for recommendations on a new laptop for university. I want a surface style laptop with a detachable keyboard and stylus support for taking notes, however the new surface pro's lack of usb-c support is something that bothers me. My use case is just taking notes in lectures and the ability to run ubuntu in a virtual machine/ dual boot for some coding. Any recommendations ?

Need some help here please. My touch screen is doing this freaky bs since yesterday afternoon. When i do a single finger touch it makes these other touch points up and down that same line and they are not static they change constantly when i leave my finger on the screen. I do not know what could have done this? Maybe Windows update? but doubt that, could t be something more serious don't know of any virus that can do this (kinda silly), or is it driver or even worse hardware related. the laptop has fallen twice and there are some dings and bangs here and there but that was months ago and has been working fine till about 3 this afternoon. and used the touch all morning and worked fine. On FB they said calibrate the screen but that doesn't work because of the extra touch detections, so what now. Thanks for any help

Hey guys, looking for a laptop that is sufficient for my mobile DAW and premiere/after effects needs. I guess 1660 / 2060 ish does it. (apart from premiere, its mostly CS and LoL). I wanna switch to single device, so it'd have to replace my ipad pro as well. So I guess im looking for a 120 / 144hz razer blade 15. but is there a laptop thats basically that, but 2in1, with a pen as well? I use the pen for marking up and taking notes on thousands of pages in adobe acrobat. It doesnt need to be an ultra book, but shouldnt be too bulky and "gamery looking". I post this here, since I couldnt find any product like that (lenovo, msi, razer etc). So its kinda like a question about the market in general. Do you think my use case is just too rare? (needing 2in1, to actually hand write on the laptop; but the latter is also like a creator machine) Thanks for your time, Chris!

This are some options I have seen: Lenovo Yoga 730 for $684: Link Lenovo Flex AMD for $555: Link HP Envy x360 Ryzen 5 for $620: Link HP Envy x360 i7 + Nvidia mx250 for $770: Link

I was thinking of gutting a PS3 Slim and a Laptop and then putting them into one single computer case. Would this project even be possible or am I delusional? If there is no case on the market that can fit them both under $150 CAD how would I go about designing a case for them.

Hi everyone, I am looking for a laptop that is sub $700 that can fold on itself so that I can take notes in OneNote. I don't need a high powered gaming rig, I am thinking about an i5 or equivalent 8gb ram onboard graphics. I am going to be using it mostly with cloud-based applications. I also need an excellent battery >9 hrs and I would like a stylus. I have been looking at the HP spectres x360s and the Dell XPS 2in1 but they are a little out of budget. I am not tied to any brand, any insight or recommendations would be appreciated.

I haven't been on this forum in years as I lost my account in the great migration and never got it back, if my posts are in the wrong let me know and I'll change them. I'm looking for a laptop or 2 in 1 that I can do light video editing and photo edits on, along with daily use of Office and browsing. I already have a machine at home which games perfectly fine so this laptop is just for work. I built my pc awhile back,it games and edits great but I've not kept in the loop really since then. Whats good anymore? Does anyone recommend any models or brands ? Or a laptop with good screen quality for production? All I ever see mentioned is the Dell xps 15 or a macbook TDLR- I'm in the market for a laptop but have no clue what is even out anymore, please help this UK nerd out Good screen (99%RGB/sRGB) Video/photo edit capable Bonus- Upgradable Under £1500 Doesn't weigh as much as a desktop

Hi there! I am looking into buying a new 13" laptop, preferably 2-in-1. Budget is up to £1500. I was thinking about the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 or the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, with an i7, 16GB RAM, at least 512GB NVMe and ideally I would like to go for a 1080p touch. The last criterion points to Lenovo, as far as I know they are the only ones that offer this screen combo, which I think would benefit battery life. Do we have any idea about the performance of these two, compared to each other, especially since the Dell have the 10th Gen i7s? Also, which one do you think has the best build quality, especially regarding the hinges? I am afraid of the accidental drop and/or an eventual loosening of them. Thanks for your help in advance!
