Hi to you all, this is my first post in the forum! I am planing to make a new build with the new series of AMD Zen3 series, and the NVIDIA 3080FE (when available). I want to do it with the Corsair Crystal 280x case and a mATX mobo. I will also use it for work, and I need lots of RAM, so going with a mini ITX is not an option. My plan is to have 2x 120mm (or 140mm) fans in the bottom as intake blowing directly on the GPU, and a 240mm AIO in the top of the case (+ the 2 stock fans in the front), so the air can follow a "perfect" vertical path. I also check that the 280x legs are pretty short, but I plan to elevate it, as well as placing spacers in the top crystal panel for better air flow. My question is, if anyone has experience with this kind of setup, if the fans in the bottom are compatible with a mATX mobo and the front panel connectors, and if so, if this issue can be solved with low profile fans, like the Noctua NF-A12x15. I tried to check with PCBS, but I don't trust it so much... Also, can you suggest any other case that doesn't have the PSU in the bottom so I can have this configuration? I check that the CoolerMaster Q500L would be an option, but that the thermals are completely terrible... Thanks for your help!

Hey there! I've gamed with my GTX 1050 TI for a long time, then I got a R9 280x and started gaming with it because it gives me more FPS. But now I got a problem, my computer just doesn't boot anymore with the GPU, it only does if I remove the two PCI cables from the GPU and plug the HDMI cable to the motherboard integrated video card. However, I can still get into the BIOS, but with I little screen bug as you can see in the attached images. My computer specs: CPU - Intel Pentium G4560 Ram - 12GB PSU - Bluecase gamer 500W GPU - AMD Radeon 9 280x MSI Motherboard - ASRock H110m-HG4 I thought it could be the PSU, but the GPU worked for few days before it stops. By the way, I'm using the GPU UEFI Bios. Do you guys have an idea of what is the problem and how can I fix it?

So, I am looking to switch the stock cooler on a new pc build for a better one for a mild overclock. The pc specs are as follow: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 ( Stock cooler) Mobo: Asrock b450M Steel legend RAM: Teamgeoup night hawk 3000 mhz rgb (quite tall, may interfere with a big cooler) GPU: MSI gaming X Radeon 5500 xt PSU: EVGA 600W 80 GOLD PLUS Case: Corsir 280x rgb I am running 7 ll120 fans as 2 fromt, 2 bottom intake and 2 top, 1 back exhaust. What would be the better cooling option? Also I am in Mexico so right now covid makes buying pretty hard, though amazo has some decent options. Any help would be very appreciated!

basically i need someone to find me what this driver IC is because i have had little sucess with finding it its the black square in the middle of the picture and its on the back side of my R9 280x TriX. need to know it so i know how to do the last stage of the powerboard im makeing, everything seems to be working exept for these seeing as im reading 12V before the VRM, 3.3V is going to the voltage controler and is also going to the EN pin of it and im still getting 0.06V on the GPU side of the VRM only thing that comes to mind is that they are not fireing up. i dont have an occiloscope sadly but seeing as the voltage controler should be running the drivers is the next logical step. feel free to ask any questions you have that may help you find it, i have had no luck as of yet

I have a r9 280x toxic by sapphire and my fan just started being floppy and making noise. It is pretty much done. I have a spare fan to use and I want to disable the problematic fan. Can I just put something on the way so it won't move at all or is this going to create a problem in the long run by delivering power to it? Is there any other way, other than unplugging the cord? Can I cut it?

Due to the mining bubble, I can sell my 280x and buy a reference 780 Ti or a good AIB 970 at no cost, would it be worth it going through the hassle of selling to do this? Is it that much of an upgrade? Or should I just wait and do something else like get a used 980 Ti early next year for like $275?

K. I have asus R9 280x and psu corsair hx 650. That boi has blue 2x8 pci-E and black 6x6 Periferals and Sata connections. My other GPU only needs 8pin pci-E, however, R9 280x boots only when it starts on all 2 blue 8 pci-E (16) but it should take only 6+8 (1x6pins from Periferals and Sata, and 1x8pins pci-E), where in last case system won't boot at all, only half sec coolers lights and done, no response until O/I PSU . I want to give 1x8pin for each of my gpus , and add 1x6pin for R9 280x and boot all of that somehow. I know that I could solder 8+6 just into 8pin and it should work but I never done this before, or probably my system won't boot because 6pins power really only for Periferals and Sata, or it start work not at the same moment with 8pins, don't know. Help pls to find best cheap and fast solution for this problem, thanks.

I fear my MSI 280x is nearing the end of it's life. It has recently begun to give strange artifacts in games that don't require great amounts of power, and low framerates in games that can be run on integrated graphics (ie., Minecraft with no visual mods was running at sub-30fps at 1080p.) I am at least the third owner of the card, so I have no idea what kind of stress it has been through over it's life. The card has never had a backplate and sags considerably, which is probably a factor. I will continue troubleshooting, but what I really want to know is if I should stick it out until Vega is available with a spotty GPU or jump on the next deep sale I find on a 1070. The problem is that I'm looking for a 300-350 USD card, which spot is not filled by any current GPU. I want it to perform at least twice as good in general as my current card, and the 480 and 1060 both fall considerably short of that. I think it is fairly likely that AMD will take the opportunity to fill that market sector with a Vega card. Thanks!

I am planing to move into a Corsair 280x with a 9900k and a EVGA 2080TI FTW3 Ultra. I am planing to use a NZXT x52 (240mm) aio to cool the cpu and let the gpu be air cool. My concerned that the will not fit considering is a 2.5 slot card that is also 11.75 in long and fairly wide too. Has anyone fit one of these cards into this case with a factory cool? The case is due in to marrow so I hope my over site does throw a wrench in my plans. Any other opinions or suggestions are welcome.

First time custom-ish water cooling. Thoughts and suggestions welcome. The cpu still runs into the low 80's under full load so any ides to improve that would be helpful. ASUS Z390-I,9900k oc to 4.9 on all cores, 2080TI stock, 32gb 3200mhz, Alphacool AIO 240mm with additional 240mm rad and custom fittings and hoses (bits power fittings and primo chill hose), and NZXT HUE 3tb HD, 4tb HD, 2x ssd (RAIDed together), 1tb NVME, 256gb NVME (boot/OS)

Hey guys! The story is simple.. my gtx 780 died on me 2 weeks ago and i'm searching for a good price second hand card which will serve me good. I'm not heavy user i play only league and sometimes metro or tomb raider but i don't demand highest settings. I found a used 280x strix edition but one fan is not working and it's hard to spin by hand.I've read online and found that faulty grease or smth is going bad with those so not a big deal i have spare ones. However the price is 60$ and i can go test it with my rig np. What do you guys think about it ?

Hello All, I recently built in the case above and as of turning it on, the fans ran however, the rgb did not light up. Installed corsair iCUE software and still nothing. I checked my wiring and have the one USB connection in place on my mobo then two fans in the little controller. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what can be wrong that has used the corsair rgb controller before. Everything else in my build has great rgb and also my ram shows up on iCUE and works fine. The controller also shows up on iCUE and I can set it to the fans being in the ports however, nothing changes. Thanks in advance!

So I’m building a new pc and PCPartPicker is saying I might have an error. I’m not concerned about the Mobo error since this is a max board. Mainly fitment issues and was wondering if anyone could let me know If I’m good to go! I’m thinking that a part just doesn’t have its dimensions in the system so I should be fine. I have attached pics of everything and the warning. Thanks in advance! edit: I am also interested in any suggestions

Hey, According to website, it has 300mm worth of space for a gpu, however i want to vertical mount mine using the cablemod mount (adds 31mm to length), which means my 270mm card will be 1mm off fitting. That being said, I have seen measurements online and it looks like there is actually over 300mm worth of room for a card. I am wondering if anyone here has the case and can measure for me the actual card length allowed within the case (assuming you have front fans). Here is the picture I am referring to when I say I think there may be over 300mm worth of allotted space: https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=181810 .

Does anyone know the difference between the Corsair 280x Crystal (CLICK HERE) and the Corsair 280x RGB Crystal? (CLICK HERE) I think the only difference is that the RGB one come with RGB fans and a lightning node pro. I just need a clarification. Thanks
-
So I heard that two series of fans from corsair (example: SP120 and LL120) wont work together on the corsair lighting node core. Does the LL120 series fall into this category? I am planning on buying the Corsair 280x RGB and the Corsair H100i, both of witch come with Corsair's LL120mm fans. (2 each) However, the the case (280x) comes with the back ones, and the AIO comes with the white ones. I know that the white LL120's have a higher RPM, but will this affect the RGB goodness that i'm looking for? Thanks!

So until just saturday my 280x was working perfectly fine-ish, but when I tried to game on sunday it was like watching a powerpoint slideshow, I tested some more games and a benchmark today and they all crashed. It seems that my PC isnt even recognizing that I have a gpu plugged in. And so I took it out and put it back in, no change. I dont think its completely dead because my monitor would not work without it and the fans are spinning. Fellas? Edit: this has been fixed by deleting all my AMD files and reinstalling the drivers.

Hey folks, What CPU currently in the market is most suited for a 280x. I have a spare card that's collecting dust in my closet and was hoping to build a gaming pc for my living room. Thanks in advance~

Hi, mi friend bought an msi r9 280x gpu used for his rig and it's got massive temp issues. It's hitting 90 degrees celsius + in load and thermal throttling. We have replaced thermal compound with thermal grizzly kryonaut and still no changes. Case flow is good with one exhaust fan at the back and one intake in the front purley for the gpu. Anyone with the same issue or knows how to fix it? Much love from Sweden

Hi, My R9 280x began dropping frame rates down dramatically the other day, the only way I seem to be able to fix this bug is by rolling back the drivers then launching a game. Then, when I next boot my PC on ti will do the same so I need to update the drivers. This fixes the issue again, until the next time the PC is turned on when once again I must roll back the drivers and so on.. Any suggestions? Thanks. Hi community! I'm from Vietnam and have roughly $130-$140 to spend on an used graphics card - and since i'm building a new rigs, i'm getting a new power supply In Vietnam, a 650W power supply is ~$5 more expensive than a 550W one. Both are Bronze rated so quality wise, it's decent. Remove the PSU factor I've gathered choices, and most compelling amongst are GTX960 Windforce G1 or MSi 2 fans version(~$150) and R9 280X MSi Twin Frozr(~$125). If i'm going with the 960 then i'll use the 550W PSU & if i'm going with the 280X i'll use a 650W one I use air conditioner but don't want to spend a hell lot in electricity bills & I play CS:GO, GTA V, Battlefield 4, Fortnite, Minecraft & except for Minecraft, which i'll be playing on Max, I play mainly on Low/Medium 1080p. And a bit of streaming too, i'll use GPU acceleration for encoding to YouTube. Will 2GB on 960 kill the gameplay? Will 280X's 250W TDP kill my electricity bills? Which one should I choose? Thanks!<I will have adequate cooling within my case>

As you all know, GPUs are not cheap, especially where I live, so, instead of getting a 1060 6GBs, I've been considering the idea of the 1050 Ti that one store owner offered me. It's more or less 40% cheaper than the 1060s that I have found. Thing is, would this 1050 Ti be a downgrade? Some numbers are lower, but others are higher. The 1060s are a lot more pricey, but I still can pay it I you guys think that the 1050 is not a good idea. I'm not really searching for an upgrade, I was pretty fine with the 280X, but don't want a downgrade either. I'll leave the specs of the two cards here. I'm not good with these numbers.
