Dram speed gaming performance Last year I upgraded & transferred parts over from from my old pc to a new build. My ram that I have is a 2x8gb 2666mhz that I had In my previous build. I wanted to know if upgrading to faster ram speeds would be a significant change in fps/preformance. I also do some music production as well. Here is my current build for reference: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NQHhW4 CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor ($160.85 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Deepcool AG400 75.89 CFM CPU Cooler ($24.96 @ B&H) Motherboard: Asus PRIME B660M-A D4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($135.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 CL15 Memory ($41.99 @ Newegg) Storage: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 512 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q4 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($69.98 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive ($44.64 @ MemoryC) Video Card: XFX Speedster SWFT 210 Core Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB Video Card ($268.36 @ Newegg Sellers) Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA 650 GQ 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($159.90 @ Amazon) Total: $906.67 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2023-05-13 01:37 EDT-0400

Hello everyone. I’m searching this over internet and I can’t find exact answer for this. I have a MiniPC a HP T630 with AMD GX420GI Processor that Supports DDR4 1866Mhz SODIMM (Max) with the Maximum RAM Capacity Supported of Theoretically 32GB. And of Course I hardly can’t find a RAM that is 16GB with 1866Mhz speed. I Already have a DDR4 16GB 2666MHz. So for safety purposes I didn’t plug my existing RAM. The question is, Does my 2666Mhz supports 1866Mhz Speed? There’s nothing on earth that ever says the Maximum and the Minimum Speed that a RAM can handle. Sorry if my English is bad.

I currently have a ryzen 5 3600 on a MSI B450m Mortar Max with 16gb of 2666mhz memory from hyperx. I wanna upgrade and I am thinking of getting the T Force Delta 16gb 2x8 3200mhz. I have two things in mind that I would want to do. First, is to use all the memory I have. But based on research, I'm only gonna be able to have 2666mhz because of the hyperx memory. The only plus side to this is that I am getting double the amount of memory I have which is 16gb going to 32gb. The second option I have in mind is to remove the two sticks of 2666mhz ram and only use the 3200mhz from t force. What would be the better option here? Thanks.

I'm using the HP-15s eq2400au, I have 8gb DDR4 ram running at 2400Mhz but I my ram can go up to 2666Mhz, there is no option in the bios to increase/decrease ram speed.

Hi, As the title mentions, I have a Corsair ONE i160 and I want to upgrade the ram, however I am not sure what is compatible with what and if it is possible? I was thinking of getting VENGEANCE® LPX 64GB (2 X 32GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHZ C16 MEMORY KIT. If there is anyone that can help with this matter I would greatly appreciate it! CPU = Intel Core i9-9900K Motherboard = Z370 Mini-ITX And here is a link to the models website.

Greetings LTT Forum, This is my first post here on the forum so I'm sorry if it's not in the right caregory but i think this should be the right one. Anyhow, to my question: I'm mostly playing Rust and i know it's a game that isn't optimized at it's finest, but I'm only getting avg 60-80fps and my duo I'm playing with is getting avg 80-110fps when we are on the same server, same position looking at the same direction. To my knowledge (Maybe I'm wrong idk) we should have around the same performance? So I'm wondering, what could i do to make my computer push slightly higher frames? I coudn't help noticing that almost every TimeSpy test with similar spec is running faster ram, from 3200 to 4200Mhz. Could my computer get a slight boost if i purchase something like Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL17. I don't think i need the 32GB that i have right now since I'm only gaming and I'm running maximum of 10 tabs on chrome when browsing hence why I'm looking for faster 16gb sticks. Iam willing to spend anything for a slight performance boost or is my CPU just old and outdated and i need to swap everything? And no, I'm not limited by thermals and i keep the computer free from dust at all times. My Timespy test: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/27345191 Comparison: https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/27345191/spy/24784404/spy/22999205/spy/23116898/spy/25941686/spy/25570781# My friends spec: Ryzen 5 5600X, RX 6700 XT, Corsair DDR4 3600MHz. My spec: i9 9900K, RTX 3070 LHR, Corsair DDR4 2666MHz. Thanks in advance Sincerely, Ice

Ram I'm looking for my custom pre built: 2x 16gb 2666Mhz ddr4 memory 2x 16gb 3200Mhz ddr4 memory I did some research on both 2666Mhz and 3200Mhz ram, and I see that 3200Mhz ram serves little difference in terms of performance for gaming. But I would like to know if the 3200Mhz is more responsive than 2666Mhz when you are browsing on Google and also if 3200Mhz will have any significant performance when I use blender or unity game engine and that. I'm on a budget so I just want to know if it's worth an extra £30-50 extra for 3200Mhz in my case.

So I'm on a pretty tight budget here and I'm currently looking at RAM and Mobos. The CPU I have chosen is the Intel i5 9600KF (which supports up to 2666MHz) but the motherboard which I'm looking to buy is 2400/2133MHz, but it supports XMP. So my question is can I buy a 2666MHz RAM and use it. Are there any risks or potential wear on certain parts and stuff like that. Will B250 with Intel Pentium G4560 run 8 GB 2666mhz RAM?

What is the best ram for Ryzen? What is the highest frequency compatible with Ryzen (R5 1600 is what I plan to get)? Is paying £10 more for 3000Mhz over 2666Mhz worth it? 2666Mhz: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/J27CmG/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2a2666c16 3000Mhz: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/MYH48d/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2b3000c15

I want to ask related about single core performance. If core clock is lower than 'single core' affected too? Single core is low, so cant handle gpu smoothly. What causes of that and effect from that? I want to change to 3600 because its single core performance. For gaming. Now mine is not able handle RTX 2060 smoothly at certain game. So i need to upgrade the ram too. (Ryzen needs a fast ram)

So I recently bought a new Asus TUF Gaming laptop model FX504GE-ES74 and it comes with 8GB RAM so I wanted to upgrade and bought a compatible Kingston HyperX Impact 2666MHz DDR4 CL15 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory (HX426S15IB2/8). I installed it and it was fine, but some days ago I downloaded cpuz just to check on everything (I'm trying to learn some things about computers) and I noticed that something was wrong with my RAM (As you can see in the pictures I'm going to provide) and the stick that came with my computer is running differently than the one I bought and as far as I know is affecting both sticks since Is running at 2400Mhz instead of the specified 2666Mhz. I am no expert at all and I have been searching all along and no one seems to have a solution since everyone says to change XMP profile or change RAM speed in the BIOS. The problem is that my BIOS does not provide any type of advanced tuning and I cant change anything from there. (maybe I'm wrong and you can, but I've searched everywhere. If someone could help me would be awsome! If you need more info just let me know.

So, i have this setup but something is weird. CPU : My cpu only do at 3.6-3.65ghz at gaming. But i see from youtube it can go 3.75 or 3.8 RAM: Still dont understand, all my friend using 3200MHz for ryzen rig. GPU: currently using galax. no OC Experience at gaming: There is a big fps difference. Like the frametime isnt tight enough for this setup. CSGO low set (high shader set) 190-300 fps The problem is my fps counter (nvidia) shows that fps is from 250 to 200 then jump to 280.Like a big jump from frame per frame. It make the game feels chuggy. Not a smooth experience? BUY A 3200MHZ RAM 8x2 Buy a cooler like CM Hyper 212 LED? Do OC and hope all things will be alright

I already made this thread about my gpu last month. So my problem is simple. At a game with cpu-intensive, my gpu hold back my gaming performance (So many random framedrop, frametime change, ex. 75 to 55 then 40 then go to 75 again) -Black Desert Online GPU-Intensive (not tested at all) because i dont have the game. First thing what i want to achieve is. Stable gameplay at high frame. Or stay at that fps on vsync. (at my last 1060 3gb, all games works well. The reason i upgrade: I need more performance at gaming. So i upgrade to 2060 without any hesitation. Hmm not a bad upgrade but this gaming performance annoy me a little bit. Here is my screenshot in game: I already changed the graphic to max. Still found a random stutter or fps drop. I dont know anymore about this. CSGO: All low (Shader high) BDO: \ Other games, like division 2 and R6S. Okay but not a best performance from what i expected. First thing what i can see: Memory clock didnt go very well and stable at 1860 (boost) - only stay at base clock - 1600MHz I dont know can believe it or not. Gpucheck website told me -20FPS ingame and 20% cpu impact So many fps drop like randomly happens. I hope my gpu didnt make all this upgrade is worthless. If this pc compared to Ryzen 5 2600X and RTX 2060. It different from what i see at stream (Some youtuber use it for stream) or youtube (Like a video Ryzen 5 2600 and RTX 2060 at 15 games)

I am currently contemplating on upgrading my memory (RAM) on my laptop. Contained within is a Samsung 4GB DDR4 2133MHz. I found a compatible Samsung part which carries the following specifications: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz. I was told that if I were to combine those two memories (the Samsung 4GB 2133MHz and 8GB 2666MHz) the laptop would still run at the lowest speed memory, the 2133MHz, and I would not get its full potential. Should I simply buy a Samsung 8GB DDR4 2133MHz memory and combine that with what I currently have (the Samsung 4GB DDR4 2133MHz)? Would this now be considered 4GB + 8GB = 12GB? Any response will be highly appreciated! I would like to purchase it tonight.

Now, i have this problem. I have a big bump fps far from anyone with same and lower with 1660 (My friend using 3200Mhz) He said no microstutter (decreased by ram maybe) What ram should i pick? Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3200MHz or Gskill TridentZ 3200MHz. My goal from this upgrade: Decrease microstutter like big fps drop. Maybe it will worked. I check from afterburner. The results show what should it looks. 3DMark score is same like others. Thanks

Hi everyone! I'm getting mixed results when I researched this online so I'm taking the time to ask for your inputs please: Current Setup CPU: Ryzen 3200G Mobo: Gigabyte B450M DS3H RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 2666MHz CL16 (1 stick) GPU: MSI GTX 1660 Ti Note: I'm aware that there is some bottleneck with the parts, I'm just reusing this setup and just added the GPU recently. My concern is that I'm looking to do dual channel memory for my setup. I'm thinking of adding 1 more RAM stick with the same specs with the current one but I'm not sure if that will automatically be "Dual Channel"? From what I have read online RAM that runs in dual channel comes in kits of 2, 4, etc. Please let me know if you need additional information. I have also attached a screenshot of the SPD from CPU-Z. Thanks in advance!

I never overclock a ram before, all i know about ram overclocking is if the pc doesnt post it means i need to add more voltage. I wanted to overclock my CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 2666MHZ (8X2) CL16 to 3000mhz. I currently running my ram on xmp profile which is 2666Mhz 1.2v So what voltage to make it running at 3000mhz, and what is the limit with ram overclocking is it temperature or stability or maybe some other things? Should I change the timmings when overclocking or maybe change something else.

HyperX specs: (same SK Hynix C-die?) *DDR4-2666MHz CL16-18-18-39 @1.2V DDR4-2666MHz CL15-17-17-36? @1.35V (2nd profile for 3000MHz kit) DDR4-3000MHz CL15-17-17-36 @1.35V DDR4-3200MHz CL16-18-18-36 @1.35V Same OC results on both 3000MHz kit and 3200MHz kit I found on Russian review site... This makes me wonder about how likely is it that also the 2666MHz kit is using same c-die as the 3000 and 3200 ones? Russian OC result: DDR4-3333MHz CL16-18-18-36 @1.35V

I bought new memory module of HyperX 8gb ddr4 2666mhz to add to already existing memory of same specs Corsair Vengeance 8gb ddr4 2666mhz but on adding the module in the memory slot(the alternate one as they say), the total speed of the combined 16gb reduced to 2133 instead of 2666. Can you please help? My config: i5 8400 MSI Z370-A Pro Corsair 8gb ddr4 2666(old) + HyperX 8gb ddr4 2666(new) GTX 1060 6gb Thanks in Advance
