From the album: 250D
That is my new little box! I has its drawbacks, but it is very portable and also looks good on my desk. -
Hey there forums! I was just asking for some advice for my mini-ITX build I'm working on. I just included a mini-ITX motherboard for completing it. I also have the blue case fans included and I will be color coordinating the CPU cooler and GPU to match the blue theme. If a red motherboard (Z chip for overclocking in the future) is what's best I'll make do. I'm really just hung-up on motherboards because my last build I was too uninformed and made a poor decision. Also with the RAM I'm trying to color coordinate it as well to the rest of my build and only have limited knowledge on the new DDR4 (I would like 16GB total). Any help, tips, tricks, and opinions will be greatly appreciated! http://pcpartpicker.com/list/FKYvZ8

I'm planning to do an ITX build in the Corsair Obsidian 250D. The plan is to have the 140mm (or alternative upgrade to 200mm) fan doing intake through the front, an MSI Gaming X gtx 1060 6gb pulling air in through the side, a dual-120mm radiator cooling CPU and expelling air out the other side, and two 80mm fans in the back also doing exhaust. I'm worried that this is not enough airflow and I will have thermal problems. If so I will probably make changes to my build that I really don't want to. Also, what 80mm fans would be good, as well as a 200mm to replace the front one?

Hi just finished my new build I was asking advice on not so long ago! Not as flashy as some of the other build on here but it packs a good amount of power in a small package. Parts: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cszDBP I found it really hard to keep the wires tidy in a case with hardly any space to hide them. and the strix 1080ti was a really tight fit (what I did to fit it in definitely voided its warranty)

Well this is an odd one... I bought a BitFenix Comrade Window. I then purchased a Mini-ITX motherboard because it was such a great deal and I only had one video card. The guy threw in a Corsair 250d. I am now contemplating using the Bitfenix or the Corsair and selling one. I could sell the 250d for much more than the Bitfenix. Thoughts?

Sorry new to the forum but a long time watcher of LinusTechTips on youtube way back. I bought a r9 295x2 last year during tax season. Throughout the year and also within the last few months, i have put this card in a Corsair 250D since march of 2015 and sometimes would hit the thermal limit on one or even more than one gpu on the card. Taking a long time in researching over the last few months I'd rather not go into full loop watercooling. I work as a part time and as a college student and I do not have the time to invest into a watercooled system. I take and move the computer around usually on a weekly basis and that is why it is in a small case. I have 2 performance edition SP120s in push pull pushing air out the front of the case. So i had researched and from what i can tell, the asetek cooler that is on the 295x2 is very if not the same as the h55 cooler from corsair. From the picture, i'm wondering if the h55 can be screwed in the same way. If you have a r9 295x2 and did something like this, let me know how it is. I'll need to install 2 to the card. I'll be keeping the central red fan to cool the vram but want to know if this will be better than doing a full waterloop for the GPU in that small of a case. If you have suggestions about using a waterblock instead and doing a loop, try to give me a budget.

Hey! I was planning on doing a build in a Corsair 250D. I was planning on putting a 240mm rad in the side and potentially a 120mm rad in the front, this would be tight as the gpu I want to put in this build is 305mm long and therefore only just fits in the case. I was wondering if the 80mm fan spots at the back could be populated with rads as well. I am open to any advice you have to offer. Partlist: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/td8yGX I also welcome any feedback on my partlist

Hi all, Thanks for taking the time to even look at this post!! I'm planning to build a 250D in June 2016 and need some help with the aspects of the cooling. I like the idea of going with a single H80i (gt? will it fit?) for the CPU, and a second radiator for a hybrid GPU. All rads placed along the side, and it would be a priority to keep the DVD drive (but can ditch it if you think it's a barrier) My question is will the 250D support a pair of 120mm AIOs? one being a push/pull H80i (gt) and another push/pull hybrid from the GPU. Thanks so much for your time!!!

Recently I moved my mid tower into the Mini ATX Corsair 250D for college, and along with a new motherboard, I decided to get a H100i all-in-one. The motherboard I chose was this one. Between the 27mm radiator on the H100i, its fans, and the placement of the 24 pin power and USB 3.0, there was essentially zero room left. I though I had gotten away with it too. Turns out I had a bad unit with a rattling/clicking pump. I got the return approved by amazon and went to order a replacement, but to my disappointment they were out of stock (unless I wanted to pay $210+ with no prime shipping). With college only a week away I need a replacement, so I ordered a H100i GTX. With an extra 3mm on the radiator the motherboard I had would no longer work so I ordered this one to gain the required clearance, meaning I will have to return my original motherboard to newegg for a 15% charge of the boards cost. I will update the post as soon as I get it all worked out. Being a faithful corsair consumer I am disappointed by the headache they have caused me. Hoping the GTX unit doesn't sound like a noisy hard drive. If anyone wants to see pictures after I get a vandal switch + lighting in or wants to know how to dremel a 140mm fan to fit in the front of a 250D with a h100i let me know.

So, I'm looking to build my first PC and I'm pretty damn limited when it comes to space (hence the m-itx footprint). I've pretty much locked down all my components except for the case and was wondering if you guys could chip in with any ideas on what mini ITX case might suit me best. (based on cooling, how easy it is to build in etc...) Here's my build so far... Intel i5 4690k Corsair h55 water cooler MSI Z97i AC Motherboard MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G EVGA NEX650G PSU 120gb SSD (with plans to add a mechanical hard drive later) Thanks in advance for any input. I posted a topic yesterday (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/402463-best-mini-itx-case-for-my-build/) asking for advice on a mini itx case for my first PC build. I've narrowed my thoughts down to the two in the title and was wondering what you guys opinions were. Thanks, James

I am building a new PC soon, and as I am in Australia I am worried that during summer my CPU temps will be too hot to game and so on. Just want an opinion on if I would need a aftermarket cooler. Specs are i5 4690 (Non K), Corsair 250D case, two corsair fans on the case for cooling, stock cpu cooler. In my room I keep my windows open but during the summer it can still get to 35-40° C

I am working on a build, and need to know if the Sapphire R9 290 will fit inside a Corsair 250D case. Will it? Will it not? What are some other blue and black R9 290's?
-
I recently got an i5-4690k and an msi z97i ac motherboard and the i5 did not come with a cooler so this is my chance to get a better cooler than the stock. I read that the Corsair 250D has a 140ish or lower height clearance. I was planning to get on one of these three: Noctua NH-C14, Noctua NH-C12, or Noctua L-12 but it turns out that the motherboard that I got isn't compatible with any of the three because it will block the the PCI-e slot. So now I don't know what to get. I would rather stick to air coolers than to water cool. My other choice is to trade my motherboard to a compatible one but then again, it would cost me (I bought the mobo second hand so it doesnt have a recipt or whatever to trade it in to a store), or I would have to find someone that is willing to trade and I already have. No luck. What other great coolers are there that i should get?

Hey guys! My names Daniel and I'm kinda confused about what fans I should put where in my Corsair 250d, so I order SP fans (two of them), thinking I would put one on my radiator for my h55 corsair liquid cooler, and the other right next to it on the right side panel, HOWEVER I'm thinking that perhaps I should buy 2 AF fans to put on the side panel, and on the front panel, but I'm not sure if AF fans would make ANY sense in a case the size of the 250d, but I'm no expert so please someone who has knowledge of this help a fellow PC enthusiast out!

Hey guys! (first post) I currently have a great gaming rig but it's a bit big for my liking. Therefore I am wanting to transfer my hardware into the Corsair Obsidian 250D I am wanting a small build and as quiet as possible, so I am considering the 250D, Asus Maximus VII Impact and possibly the be quiet! Dark Rock 3. - Probably getting rid of most of my case fans too (Corsair AF and SP) What I am wondering is if I could fit the Dark Rock 3 into the 250D. Does anybody currently have that configuration? Anyone with the 250D, what cooler are you currently using? I'm not overclocking the CPU currently and I don't care for added temperatures in turn for silence. I found http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ and on there it says that the 250D and Dark Rock 3 are not compatible, I have tried to look at the Dark Rock 3 and I can't tell whether it would fit or not The dimensions for Dark Rock 3 are: (L x W x H) - 97 x 137 x 160mm For comparison I have the EVGA reference GTX 780 (see attached for picture) My current specs Case Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl with Window) Motherboard Asus Maximus VI Formula CPU Intel Core i7 4770K CPU Cooling SilverStone Tundra TD02 GPU EVGA GTX 780 RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz Primary Storage – OS/Programs Samsung 840 120GB Secondary Storage – Media/Other Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB Gaming Storage Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB PSU Corsair AX760 -also getting rid of both my HDDs as I'm soon getting a NAS ---SILENCE IS BLISS If the Dark Rock 3 definitely won't fit in the 250D, what cooler would you guys recommend? I'm not happy with my Tundra TD02 and don't think it would fit due to the thick radiator. I've been looking at the Corsair AIO coolers instead as I want silence and good looks something like the H90 or H75, what do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Looking for a tower cooler that would fit in a Corsair 250D. Not OCing and the computer will be situated in a home recording studio, so silence > raw cooling preformance. Any recommendations?

I'm planning to get a Corsair H55 to install in Corsair 250D case, but 1. I don't like the included 3 pins fan, so I'll throw it away and install Coolermaster Jetflo 120 instead. Does this fan compatible with H55 screw? 2. I don't like the way Corsair recommended to install the fan as intake. I just want to install it as an exhaust like what everyone else do, in push configuration. BUT from what I know Corsair doesn't provide the short screw to mount the radiator to the case. So what kind of screw is compatible? The 250D provided some short 6-32 and M3 (Not sure, I guess), not sure if it fits. Thx for reply

Morning all, Anyone know if the new "H100i GTX" fits in the Corsair Obsidian 250D? We all know the 250D was designed around the older H100i (25mm rad + 25mm fans), but the newer H100i GTX is marginally larger (30mm rad + 25mm fans). Problem is, there is conflicting info on the web, and I can't find concrete info on what the clearance is between a motherboard and case; I have read sources saying anywhere between 52-55mm. There appears to be minimal yet conflicting information about. Any info appreciated. (Yes, I am planning on doing this, assuming it should fit)

Hi guys! I'm new to the forums and I'm building a new rig with the 250D case from Corsair. I'm planning to do watercooling and I wanted to use the SP120 White LED fans but are not available in my country, but the AF120 White LED fans are available. I was wondering if I should go with the AF120 LED fans in PULL config (it would be used as an intake). Will there be any performance hit? I would like to get some advice. Opinions are welcome! Thanks!

I was suppose to get the Hyper 212 evo but then i realized it wouldn't fit on my case, which is the Corsair 250D, so i would like to know what other great air coolers are there. Budget is $80 Canadian dollars. If you can find one on http://www.futureshop.ca/ that would be great since i just got a gift card from there. I can also get things from Other stores and online I also would consider water coolers
