  1. I have been using the 2080 Ti for about 5 years now, and recently, it has begun showing signs of dying. Tested the PSU, CPU, Memory etc. Whenever I run an intensive task, the GPU causes a crash and the screens go black, I hear audio still for a short while, and the CPU fans kick in at high speed. Memory dump says it has something to do with Nvidia as well. I am not sure what to do to fix it, and I was considering upgrading it to a 4070, given the circumstances, getting a 4090 (Although very tempting, is a bit too pricey in Finland. ~2100 € to start.). I was wondering if it is worth it to get a 4070, or somehow bite the bullet for a 4090 or if there are other options. My main goals with the GPU usually are related to learning to use Blender, games, and a bit of AI based tasks such as training datasets etc. Thank you kindly for any help provided, incase you need more information, I would be happy to provide. Cheers!
  2. Hi, I can only tell its underperforming by comparing most of my game's fps to online, in GTA I struggle to get 60 fps with 1080p all low, for rainbow six siege i get about 80-100 fps in all low 1080 p, this has been going on for a longgg time. Also my gpu utilization is almost close to nothing during some games, once had it at 1% during rainbow six siege. For some reason my 3D Mark score is decent (still not to its full potential) https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/59084490? . however my user bench mark score says that I'm underperforming horribly. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/40520643 The attached picture is an image I found online but, its the exact same GPU I have. This whole issue is really getting to my head and is very frustrating, any help is appreciated!
  3. Hi. Can someone please help me. I got MSI GEFORCE RTX 2080Ti 11s. Low resolution GPU is working fine but on 1920x1080 it start showing weird horizontal lines.
  4. Sorry in advance for the long post but I've tried my best to summarize my troubleshooting so far. I've been having an issue for the past 4-5 weeks or so which has prevented me from being able to play GTA V, Apex Legends, Scavengers (early access), etc. but still allows me to play non-GPU intensive games such as League of Legends, Rocket League, etc. without issue. Mid 2020 I took my existing computer (seen here; https://pcpartpicker.com/b/cVtgXL) and I traded the GPU with a local guy for a EVGA XC Ultra 2080 ti because I needed a GPU that would fit the water block in EK's O11D water cooling kit. Now that I had a GPU that would fit I converted the components into this build; https://pcpartpicker.com/b/mRq323 *NOTE THAT THIS IS MY CURRENT BUILD I've been gaming and working on this new water-cooled PC configuration for about a year now but in the last 5-6 weeks I have been experiencing issues when I try to play more GPU heavy games both my monitors will randomly black screen when the GPU is under heavy load; tested Ultra settings in Heaven Benchmark and it crashed a few minutes in once the GPU hit 71*C. The interesting thing is that the PC still runs and I get audio from the games and discord but I have to force restart the PC in order to restore the GPU signal to the monitors. I'm using a display port main gaming monitor (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BcTrxr/dell-monitor-s2716dg) and an HDMI for my 56" Samsung TV (read as "secondary monitor"). I've tried unplugging and re-plugging in the HDMI cable and DP cables into the GPU/monitors to no avail, I've tried to redownload the latest GeForce drivers (released yesterday 5/18/21; 466.27) to no avail, and I have checked my fan and pump curves in my BIOS and everything there is fine. Interestingly enough this issue began occurring right about when the temperatures in my region began to climb into the 80s but also coincided with the latest NVIDIA GeForce driver update version 466.27 released on 4/29/21. Just an FYI; I have an AC unit in my room that keeps ambient temps at around 70-72*F so definitely not a thermal throttling issue. I tried swapping out the GPU power cord with a different one to see if it was a power supply issue or a bad GPU power cable but that did not seem to solve the issue. After some thinking I force rebooted my system, started streaming my main PC screen for a friend of mine and launched Apex Legends to see if he could see any error messages when I black screened. When I black screened a few min into a match he could see the following error on my screen; "0x887A0007 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET The device failed due to a badly informed command. This is a run time issue; The application should destroy and recreate the device". I did quite a bit of research on this issue and tried several solutions to no avail. 1) I tried this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw6FRWbQhjA 2) and this; https://docs.substance3d.com/spdoc/gpu-drivers-crash-with-long-computations-128745489.html 3) and this; I tried reverting to the previous NVIDIA driver 466.11 from 4/12/21 since my system worked well with that driver but I still got the black screen when playing GPU intensive titles. As of today I started digging in the event viewer and found that there were errors from several ASUS services such as "AsusCertService" and "AsusFanControlService" as well as from Armoury Crate. These were remnants from the previous ASUS ROG Strix 2080ti that I traded away for a EVGA XC Ultra 2080ti to fit the water cooled GPU block in the new build. I downloaded the Armoury Crate Uninstaller, ran the uninstall process, "shift+deleted" all of the remaining ASUS files located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS", and then I ran command prompt in admin mode and used the SC DELETE "enterservicenamehere" command to delete all the remaining ASUS services. After that I tried to update the NVIDIA drivers again to version 466.27, deleted the DWORD entries I made in solution attempts 1 & 2 above, and tested some games. However, I still got black screened. Another Evernt Log item I see pretty often is; "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} and APPID {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402} to the user USERNAME-RYZE\User Name SID (blah blah blah) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool." Not sure if that has anything to do with this issue either but after some prelim research it looks like it does not. I just stumbled on this post and may try this later today; https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/etslil/psa_i_solved_dxgi_error_device_reset_crashes_on/ Please let me know if you know of any potential solutions for this issue or know of any way to better track down what the root cause of the issue may be. I'm really at a loss as to what this could be and there's no way I'm getting my hands on another 2080 ti right now. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
  5. My current build: Ryzen 7 3700x AsRock B450M Steel Legend Gainward RTX 2080 Ti Phoenix 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 3000 Mhz RGB Pro XPG GAMMIX S11 1 TB Seagate Barracuda 2 TB Corsair CX650 80 Plus Bronze Corsair 175r Corsair H100i Platinum Corsair ML140 RGB Originally, I built this PC using a Ryzen 5 3600 and a RTX 2060, but got some good deals and upgraded both CPU and GPU. I usually stream and play CoD Warzone at 1080p and can't get good FPS on both online and offline. Offline: 140 Online: 110 My friend who has a 5700 XT is able to stream at 140+ FPS using x264. Some benchmarks on Youtube shows Warzone at 160+ FPS offline. I guess the system is underperforming due RAM speed. I tried to OC the RAM to 3200Mhz using DRAM Calculator for Ryzen, but was not able to make it work. I am stuck at 2933Mhz dua channel. Some Benchmarks https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/34696169
  6. Hello All! I have a RTX 2080Ti that I bought a few years ago. I have been getting quite poor performance out of it - 2080 like performance. I am getting well below the average of 14k with a score of 10.4k. I just noticed that its not using 100% power when running 3dmark time spy so I believe this may be the issue. I have uploaded the two pictures for you too take a look at. I am completely stumped. PC Specs Corsair HX1000 PSu ASUS STRIX OC RTX 2080TI Gigabyte Z490 master mobo Samsung 970 EVO SSD G.skill Trident Z rgb 3200mhz ram 10700k @5ghz all core I tried: Reinstalling drivers completely with DDU reflashing the bios of the card (it has two so it was lower risk) putting the card in my gf's pc, DDUing the drivers, and running it again... and the behavior persisted. Replacing power supply cables. Switching the 12V rails. I have not tried a new power supply. Thanks for taking the time to help me out, I really appreciate it. I can get the logs of a Timespy run if you feel like that would help. ***EDIT: For clarity, the two humps in the below HWINFO graphs are the timespy run and the sensors were reset at the start.
  7. For the past month, every time I shutdown my PC, it's a gamble to whether it will display anything after turning it back on. The computer turns on, fans are spinning and windows boots up, however the screen remains black. The reason I know windows boots up is that the HDD light flashes and sometimes when plugging my display port cable into my motherboard, it is booted up. With my old graphics card, this was not an issue so I know it isn't another component in my system. I have tried many things such as updating GPU and motherboard BIOS, DDU, cleaning contacts and slot, trying a different slot on motherboard and turning off overclock on the graphics card. Sometimes it will boot up perfectly and did so for the few first months of owning the card, but suddenly one day this issue arose. Now I just leave my computer on all the time so I don't have to deal with the 20 minutes of troubleshooting to get it working again. The issue persists even if I just put the computer onto sleep. My troubleshooting consists of taking the GPU out and plugging it back in, turning off all power for a while, clearing CMOS, repeatedly turning the PC on and off, the problem is, I haven't managed to troubleshoot which solution fixes it and allows for the graphics card to be used as the main display driver again, hence the term "gamble". Sometimes it's quick to fix and only requires turning the PC on and off, but sometimes it takes ages and requires an arsenal of techniques to get it working again. Obviously the card isn't make a perfect connection with the motherboard somehow because it wouldn't boot into integrated graphics otherwise, but I must reiterate, it doesn't always display windows when swapping the DP cable over. Other than this, the graphics card works perfectly in games and everything else, no crashes what so ever, it has a Corsair H55 hooked up to it via a NZXT G12 so temperatures are always low. Considering the cost of electricity at the moment and the simple fact I don't want to waste it, I need a solution so I don't have to leave my computer on. Please ask any questions that would give you insight on how to fix this. For the sake of the polar bears and my wallet I must resolve this.
  8. This is my second official PC build and I love it! I've learned quite a bit since my novice days back in 2015, and with Lian LI's O11 Dynamic Razor edition case readily available and AMD knocking it out of the park with their Gen 3 series CPUs, everything just came together perfectly. SSDs are not included in the build parts list since I just transferred them from my old build and updated drivers for the new hardware. I create/analyze energy models for my engineering job and am also a huge PC gamer so it's nice to have a rig that can kick butt at both. This Build; https://pcpartpicker.com/b/cVtgXL Previous build; i5-6600K and a 980Ti (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/WFvV3C).
  9. I have a conundrum. I'm still a long way off before I purchase these components (I won't be hired until the pandemic is over), but I'm still wavering between the cost and benefits of upgrading to a higher-end graphics card. Some background on my goals; I'm currently planning my next build which will be an upgrade from a prebuilt Acer Predator with an i7, GTX 1070, and 32 GB of RAM. My budget is below $1900. I'm not physically monetarily constrained, but psychologically. I really, really don't want to go past $18 or $19 hundred. Regarding gaming... I'm obsessive... not to the point of full OCD, but I am super agitated when I can't get the best version of something. I run a 144 Hz Acer Predator TN-panel that I run using the low-latency 120 Hz option and I primarily play FPS and action games. For sound, I use a pair of 2016 Astro A50s which make me want to murder those who talked me into buying them. TL;DR - Build Goals: $$$ = below $1900 Performance = Superior Games = FPS and Action My conundrum comes in that I can't decide whether to get a "tricked-out" 2070 SUPER system with superior storage and airflow, or a 2080 Ti system that I can upgrade, later on. 2070S system: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kvpg4n 2080 Ti system: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8vFZHB Side notes: I have already purchased a Gold+ 750 watt power supply. I'd like to keep the storage amount the same (i.e. 1 TB SSD, 2 TB physical). Case stays. I chose the board due to its high ranking on the LTT forum list and its decent price. I would not be willing to downgrade the board's chipset (570 to 470) as that would mean I'd need to spend more in upgrading in a few years. I am terribly addicted to getting the best performance. I get hives (jokingly) from choosing budget options, but I do take them if the argument is sound. Which is the crux of the issue: I can get sub-par components... but the frames... I want the frames...
  10. After years of struggling with my prebuilt ROG G20 and a week of watching Linus and others, I decided to build a PC that could handle anything I could throw at it. I built this back in September and only now thought about posting it; hence a bit of dust can be seen in the picture. My only struggle with this build was with the RGB controllers, but I got them working after a few minutes. I use it primarily for editing and gaming; I never really encountered any problems with it, so I think I did a good enough job. The GPU's vertical orientation does heat up much more than the traditional horizontal position, but the temps are still tolerable. Since this is my first build and I don't have PC enthusiast friends to critique my work, I thought I'd ask you guys for some pointers, so I am open to suggestions! https://pcpartpicker.com/b/QNQqqs Specs: CPU: Intel i7 9700k GPU: Galax 2080 Ti OC Mother Board: Asus ROG Strix Z390-F RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000mhz PSU: NZXT E850 SSD: WD Black SN750 1TB w/heat-sink HDD: WD Black 2TB Case: NZXT H510 ELITE AIO: NZXT Kraken X62 Fans: 3x Aer RGB 2 140mm and 1x Aer RGB 2 120mm Here are some pictures, sorry for the dust
  11. I am looking to get an rtx 2080 ti card for my rendering/animation pc. I currently have a gigabyte 1080ti turbo blower style card which i want to keep as well (I use octane render primarily which supports mismatched gpus) and I am wondering which rtx card would pair best as far as cooling goes. I have seen that the dual fan fe 2080 tis have cooling issues in multi gpu setups and that three fan gaming cards are not great either for multi gpu since they exhaust heat into the case. So I am wondering what card/setup would be best. My case is an nzxt h700 so there is plenty of space and case fans for air circulation.
  12. Need a GPU for a CAD teacher's future workstation. Will be doing low to intermediate levels of CAD projects, and wants to dabble with Unreal Engine 4 a lot more soon. Rendering times are to be as low as possible. My current GPU budget is $1000-1200. (If I go with an R9 3900X, $1200, if I go with an R9 3950X, $1000. (I also need to know if I should go with an 3950X, I can see the benefit, and 2nd gen TR is prob not a good idea atm, but does the boost a 3950x gives outweigh the cost for my budget?) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=cjpW3C Also wants to do a little AAA gaming, but u can still game on a Quadro if gaming isn't the primary purpose. Basically: Do I still need a quadro for non-super complex CAD and UE4 in today's world? I know the 2080ti will still render hella fast, but are there Quadro's under $1200 that would do it better/faster?
  13. yo guys! im starting the build in preparation for amd to release there zen chip. i plan on getting the fans, 3 360 rad's, 2 pumps, 2 res's, aquaero installed and wired. to start i ordered the a custom case from moon light mods. i really like there acrylic case's. next will be 3 aquacomputer copper rads and the new RGB fans from corsair.

  15. Recently build a new gaming PC. 16 gb of ram, 2080 ti graphics card and 2700x ryzen processor. I did a 3dmark spy test and got 13000. My XMP profile is on and i overclocked my gpu to +225 core clock and +700 Memory. Is my graphics card working properly?
  16. I've just bought a new Asus RTX 2080 to my one-year-old system. So far I've had troubles with windows versions and so on, but re-installed windows 10 at 1903 and everything is now set up with the Strix overclocked to around 1700 MHz. Some games run smooth and some, like "Quake II RTX" at ultra everything runs at around 30 fps, which is understandable since it's a major RTX benchmark. However, I tried to play "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" at ultra everything on my 4K Samsung TV, and it stutters a lot. However, because there are som nice numbers to be seen in the options screen I can see what's going on and there doesn't seem to be a problem with the 2080 ti, but there's something going on at the CPU level. It stutters a lot in some sections like big towns etc. and the MS measurements are all over the place on the CPU graph. Can someone please tell me what's going on here and how I could fix it? Attached images of the graphs. Here's my system: intel Core i9 7960X 2.8 GHz 22MB Corsair 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750W Gold WD Gold 10TB 7200rpm 256MB WD Gold 6TB 7200rpm 128MB Kraken X52 ASUS WS X299 SAGE ASUS Thunderbolt EX 3 Fractal Design Define XL R2 Svart Noctua NF-A14 140mm PWM (two) Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM (two on the radiator) Windows 10 Pro Swe 64-bit OEM Samsung 970 PRO 1TB
  17. So I've overclocked both my CPU and RTX 2080 ti Strix to a level where I feel they hold without making my rig take off. However, I'm limited to only a 750W power supply, which means I'm afraid the wattage is gonna hit past that if there's any workload that uses both the CPU and GPU at the same time. I have a wattage-meter so I can see the drainage from the wall socket, but the biggest problem is that I don't have any stress tests that test the CPU and GPU at the same time. I use Intel's overclocking manager and the Asus GPU tweak II. So far, if I put my CPU at 4.0 and cache to 2.8 and stress test it, the meter shows around 500-600w, but I guess that's only for the processor. When I play a game like Metro Exodus with everything on highest, RTX on ultra and in 4K DLSS mode, I hit around 530w with the processor only at 30%. I would imagine that if the processor went up to 100% and the GPU also around 100%, that would seriously max out beyond my 750w. Question is, will it ever do that? Is there ever an occasion where both the GPU and CPU works at the same time at 100%? It seems that every task is either using the GPU or CPU primarily, but never both. Question is, how high can I go on my current rig? Theoretically, that is. At the moment, I've only dared to set my CPU at 4.0 clock and cache to 2.8, while my 2080 ti is set to: 1750 clock Nothing added on the memory clock Fans to 45 Power level to 120 Metro crashes if I go higher. I tried setting the 2080 ti to 1800 clock, but that crashed it even more times. I've read however that Metro seems to crash because of overclocking, so I'm not sure if it does so because my overclock fails or is unstable or if the game doesn't work with overclocking. When I looked at JayzTwoCents's overclock of the Strix 2080 ti, he just blasted it up to 1800 core clock, maxed out memory clock, power level to 125 and fans to 100 percent and it was no biggie. He didn't touch the voltage at all, which feels safe, but wouldn't such an overclock just be a very high risk if my processor has a high wattage count when working? I also seem to see in BIOS that my RAM is set at 2800 instead of 3600 MHz and I don't know what that's about? I'm not very experienced at overclocking and I'd rather have a stable overclock than winning any overclocking contests, but since I have both a CPU and GPU that is meant for overclocking, then it's just a waste of money not to do it. But I'm not sure what is safe for my system. Temperature seems to work fine, I have a lot of Noctua fans pulling some air through the rig, and the Kraken on the CPU with two Noctua fans blowing at the radiator on the top ceiling. Need some advice here Here's my rig: intel Core i9 7960X 2.8 GHz 22MB Corsair 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750W Gold WD Gold 10TB 7200rpm 256MB (Main big storage) 3 WD Gold 6TB 7200rpm 128MB (BIOS RAID for 4-6K footage editing and color grading) Kraken X52 (On the CPU to the radiator at the top with the two Noctua's blowing upwards) ASUS WS X299 SAGE ASUS Thunderbolt EX 3 ASUS RTX 2080 ti Strix Fractal Design Define XL R2 Black Noctua NF-A14 140mm PWM (one at the bottom, one at the rear and two in the front) Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM (two on the radiator) Windows 10 Pro Swe 64-bit OEM Samsung 970 PRO 1TB (Main boot Drive with Windows 10)
  18. https://youtu.be/IXDxZi8J0cY all the temps and clocks and speed run fine but as soon as it gets to opencl in realbench or under a heavy load it beeps constantly and loud, i notice if i turn my gpu down to 200w max and 40% fan speeds it turns of in some games but i ran cs:go perfectly fine for like an hour with everything normal temps etc. please help asus isnt doing much for me! they said its my rgb strip but i only had lighting issues after they told me to clear the cmos and update the bios and after i did now the q led on the mb doesn't light up and it wont sync to the software but it boots and runs fine besides the beeping what do i do ha? Update: I reset the PC with windows and unplugged the two front rgb strips everything is synced up correctly now except the main issue which was the beeping under load persists and my build lost two rgb strips but i just want it to run properly at this point its been a long 5 days troubleshooting everything .... ive attached a video of what happens when my computer starts to beep running Evga's Precision x1 test & scan please help if possible Asus maximus xi hero,i7 9700k, m.2 970 pro 512gb m.2 970 evo 1tbg.skill trident z rgb 16x2 3000mhz,rosewill rgb aio,Evga 750w g3 supernova,Evga 2080ti xc2 ultra,Rosewill Prism s500 case.
  19. Hey all, Been looking around for a ITX case that may fit a 2080 Ti Strix... Anyone have any suggestions? Found the Ncase m1, which is amazing.. but I am seeing other options out there... anyone have any others?
  20. Does anyone have experience with Zotac Artic storm 2080 ti or other Zotac 2080 ti's? I'm looking for a new card for my build and this one looks interesting. But I can't find much information and reviews about it, only one review in german. How is it's quality and overclocking? From the review I did find it seems to have issues with the power limit, it's lower than other brands, so I'm also wondering if anyone seen an bios for it that increases the power limit? It seems a bit daft that a watercooled card only have a power limit of 330W.
  21. I know there was a little bit of discussion about the 2080 Ti's failing with BSOD's and artifacting when the card was released and some time after, but its been a good while since the release now and I'm packing up my MSI gaming trio 2080 Ti to RMA it for the 2nd time in a couple months for the same issue. The card works beautifully when its first installed, then with just a little bit(like a month or so) of use, the problems begin and they escalate to the point where you can't even put the lightest load onto the card before it freezes n shows you a bunch of pretty symbols aka artifacting. Now either I have the absolute worst luck in the world(wouldnt surprise me) or theres something really wrong with the makeup of these cards. After breaking the bank and paying 1400 for this card, you would expect a good product, not a heap of crap. I honestly have never had an issue with my graphics card in the past 18 years, until the 2080ti. It blows my mind that not more atttention is being brought to this to hold either nVidia or the manufactures responsible publicly. Lord knows they wont move a muscle until their credibility is publically on the line, they will just keep throwing f***ed up cards at us gamers until we are blue in the face. I'm ranting n raving, I apologize, but 1400 for a paperweight, thats so beyond screwed up. Is anyone else having my kind of luck?

  23. Hi, I am building a rig for Deep Learning using 2× ASUS ROG Strix 2080 Ti cards and I am planning to pair them in SLI. Due to the lack of availability of the ASUS NVlink bridge in my country, I am planning to get the Zotac NVlink bridge. I was wondering would the Zotac NVlink bridge work with two ASUS RTX 2080 tis? Like will the sli connections fit and all? Has anyone tried this config before?
  24. Hi, I just got a new mobo and it came with the safety cpu socket cap loose in the anti static bag. Also the thing that goes over the SSD was still screwed in but loose and not clipped in. The cpu pins are fine and the whole mobo 'looks' OK. But could there be some unseen damage that could fry my 9900k or 2080 ti?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
