Budget (including currency): $200-300 (USD) Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light-medium gaming, maybe server hosting. Or I might just sell it. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I just upgraded my graphics card and power supply, and I'm thinking about upgrading my RAM in the near future as well. In that case I will have a GTX 1660 ti, a 500w bronze rated power supply, and 16 gb of 3200 ddr4 ram just lying around. My current pc is the first I've ever owned, and it started as a prebuilt (I bought it during the worst of the gpu crisis when prebuilts were a feasible way to get a gpu, please don't judge). I've always watched channels like LTT and others who built pcs, and before I had my first real job I was envious because I couldn't build a pc. Now that I have an adult job and parts lying around, I'd like to use them. Considering the gpu I'll be using is a 1660 ti, I think it would work well for a "junkyard wars" style low budget build where I salvage a used office computer or something and upgrade it to create a reasonable low-mid range gaming pc. What I'm looking for is advice on how best to go about this. Is it still a good idea at this point in time to find something like a Dell Optiplex with an i5 or i7 that's a few generations old, and just start from there? If so, what's the best place to look? Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon, local tech stores, some other website I don't know about? If that isn't the best option, what is? Should I just buy cheap new parts? I would like to keep it under $300, and a big draw of buying a used office pc is that it includes Windows, so I don't have to worry about that expense. Of course, I could always use Linux if I don't want to pay for an OS, but I'm unfamiliar with it and not that techy, so Windows would be ideal for me. That said, I think I could get the parts I need new within my budget if I'm smart about it. If that's the best route, does anyone have recommendations for parts that would keep my price tag low? I need a cpu, motherboard, case, and storage if I'm starting from scratch. And an OS, of course. Any tips from those familiar with budget building would be appreciated! PS. To clarify on what the purpose of this build is: it's just for fun. I have a main pc which I just upgraded, so I have some of my previous parts lying around. I'm looking to put them into a new build for the experience. I may put it in my basement and use it for light gaming, media, or server hosting, or I may just sell it.

I tried to update my GPU to the latest firmware,472.12 and GE force experience told me that it would require a restart because it's critical update. Ive never had a GPU update tell me that before. When I did, the restart happened, my GPU wasn't detected at all and in device manager it was labeled "Display" rather than the usual 1660 TI label and not under Display Adapters. It came back eventually but then I restarted my pc again, and it turns out the update didn't go through, so now i'm in the process of using DDU to hopefully make sure it installs properly. But it initially disconnected again, before this time restoring that it was a 1660 TI in device manager. The fact that it disconnects initially when the restart happens has a me a tad worried. Is this GPU dying? Specs CPU i7 8700 GPU : Windforce 1660 ti Asus prime h310 plus motherboard 16 gb ddr4 ram PSU 500w Storage : 3 SSD's of various sizes.

Budget (including currency): $800~ Country: U.S. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: DCS flight simulator, SCUM, Hell let Loose, ARMA 3 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I purchased the card because it was a decent price. This build will focus on getting the most out of the GPU. My budget is $800 +/- maybe $50. This build will be from scratch, and focused solely on gaming, so fps at the best settings I can get. I'm not very good at these things so any help I greatly appreciated! Hello, was wondering could anyone tell me if perhaps there is something wrong with my graphics card or not. I currently have an Asus Zephyrus Ga502D with the gtx 1660 ti max q. And have been experiencing lag/fr drops to the point of unplayablity. Like, even with POE Deadfire!!! But lately I’ve tried over clocking, but don’t really know what I’m doing besides the fact that you can’t adjust voltage or anything on the Max Q series , just the core clock and the other. So I don’t mess with it. Well, a little, with Heaven I’m getting no problems. But then I tried Dark Pictures plague tale innocence and experienced lag/drops....playable but still. And what’s weird is, the game(s) automatically adjust to ALL ULTRA settings, and I’ve heard ppl play with this card with no issues...where is the card located on the body, bc I also have a fan clicking/whirring a bit on the right side the more I switch it to, like performance mode ...I’m just disheartened bc this was a rental and I’ve paid it off but it actually cost ME twice as much... should I send it back(still under warranty) thanks

Ok so. There are several listings for a Titan X Maxwell card around my place of residence. I currently have a GTX 1660 Ti with a 6GB frame buffer. Now, I want to know if the GPU core performance is similar. Since the Titan has a 12GB frame buffer, I wanna have that because I'm playing games with higher res textures and my 1660 TI is running out of VRAM. Would the performance from the GPU itself be substantially lower on the Titan?

Hey guys, so I have a Ryzen 7 2700x, Zotac GTX 1660 Ti, Gigabyte aorus b450, Ripjaws 16 Gb Ram, Blue 1 TB Storage pc build. The problem is it is getting unheard of terrible frames. 30-80 frames on Valorant, 40-60 on minecraft, 40-70 on 2k20. I also used to have a problem of Windows and my pc crashing. I took my pc to a PC Repair Facility (Canada Computers) and they returned my pc with new ram and no more crashing, though the frames problem still wasn't fixed. The day after I got it back I saw the problem wasn't fixed so I did a benchmark test. The results are attached to the post. Is the problem the CPU as the test suggests or could it be something else, for example my motherboard. Thanks to anyone willing to help!

I'm looking at 1650 super. But based on my research on other forums, 1660 super or even ti are much better. But I also seen some that it'll just bottleneck. I'm not sure. I just want what's the best option for my 3400G. I won't mind if it'll be from AMD. I just need the best option.

I have a fairly new 1660 TI windforce I bought around a month ago and I realized that when I manually set the fan speed to 100% via MSI afterburner it made like a cranking noise. Here is a link to the noise it makes. Recorded from an ipad fairly close to it. Userbenchmark says missing GPU when I ran a test on it; but I'm fairly certain I used DDU to clear drivers and install new ones before and it worked when I initially installed. I'm not sure if this is an issue I should be worried about.

I know the 1660ti is outdated and not a hot topic anymore but I was wondering what kind of frames ppl have gotten with it. I run a i7 10750H and the 1660ti. All 6 cores I get about 4.2 to 4.4 ghz constant and around 100 FPS on most games calms down to about 80 on high settings

Hi Everyone, After taking a break from gaming for 18 months, I’ve decided to get back into it just before my country went into the nationwide lock down. But this time, due to lack of time to source the parts I needed and for the sake of experiment, I went with a Gaming Laptop instead of building a rig. I got myself an Asus TUF FX505DU which came with GTX1660 ti GPU. I must say, I am quiet impressed with its performance and value for money I got for it. Given that it is a budget gaming laptop, it only comes with a single HDMI 2.0 port. I still have my old ASUS 27” 144 Hz monitor from 2012. Though it is still doing “Okay”, I feel it is time to upgrade the monitor to an Ultra-wide curve monitor. And I have been looking at AOC CU34G2X 34” QHD VA monitor. Again, bangs for your bucks and very review I’ve seen so far has been very good. So my question is as thus: will my laptop with GTX1660 ti and HDMI 2.0 supports 3440x1440 resolution which this monitor comes with by default? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative? Thank in you all in advance for any comments.

I'm going to upgrade my PC soon, in order to give my brother my old 1060 3gb for his new machine, and I was planning on getting a used 1070ti for around 300$. I know the 1660 ti is a tad less for a tad less performance, but anyone with experience or just a second opinion. The main purpose of my upgrade is ensuring my computer is capable of running the Valve Index, which my current system can, save for the GPU. So which should I go for? I'd likely be getting the 1660 ti or 2060 new, unless I can find a good one used

I am currently on the lookout for a good gaming laptop. I have a fixed budget, but it's not very restrictive. Based on all my searching and research I have narrowed down my options to these 3 CPU-GPU-Display configurations: 1. Core i7-8750h + RTX 2060 + 1080p 60hz display 2. Core i5-8300h + RTX 2060 + 1080p 144hz display 3. Core i7-9750h + GTX 1660 ti + 1080p 144hz display All 3 have nearly identical I/O and other specs and are all similarly priced, so there's nothing else to consider. Let me know which one you guys would recommend with reasons. Also, if you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them. Note: I am not much of a competitive online gamer. I mostly play offline games like RPGs, RTS games and some shooters.

I have RX 570 4GB and I'm ready to upgrade and im not sure what's the best option. I was thinking buying 1660 ti or 2060. I'm upgrading because of AAA+, competitive games(ALWAYS LOW SETTINGS). I got a 144 HZ monitor and my rx 570 just cant handle to hold 144 fps at all time. (intense situations dropping to 70-80 fps)fortnite,apex........ what is your opinion? thanks for help

Hi guys, I'm stuck on deciding the gpu of my pc build. Just when i finally decided to buy the RTX 2060, i just found out that it is overkill for my full hd 60hz monitor. Many people said that there will be screen tearing and lagging something like that. So it wouldn't be a good experience playing on it. I just bought the monitor last month and it wasn't my plan to build a pc at that time. My plan was to buy a gaming laptop. But i have changed my mind and thought to build a gaming pc instead. Now I'm not sure which gpu to buy. I can't upgrade my monitor for at least 2 or 3 years so I'm not sure which gpu would be compatible with my 60hz monitor. My monitor does have free sync in it. So i am thinking maybe 1660 ti would be compatible. Please any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

1660 ti Plz, list all 1660 ti(s) that have DVI ports in them.
Mr.Stork posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I wanna buy a 1660 ti, but have a DVI monitor, no I don't wanna buy adapters, Idk what brands make dvi-d ports, except for GALAX. So please list all known brands/1660 ti having DVI ports. Also, it's better if it's available in India. Not a necessity. -
Is this build any good? i’m generally good with tech but this will be my first time building. i have watched over 100 videos of people building PCs and i know what i’m doing. I will be overclocking this build too Thank you, Calvin

Hey all, So I have around $300ish to spend on a brand new graphics card. I'm currently without one, as I gave my dad my RX 580 so we can do some Forza Motorsport 7. I plan on going to Microcenter tomorrow to purchase a GPU and I'm hoping the community can help me decide which graphics card and which style I should go for. The GPUs around this price bracket look to be the RX 590, Vega 56, 1660 Ti and a low-end 2060. If I were to rank priorities of how a graphics card performs, I'd say: 1. Acoustics (I had an XFX RX 560 single fan card that I could not get to stay quiet/cool. Had another thread on here about it, cooler seemed very cheap. Tried replacing thermal paste, adjusting fan curve. The fan/cooler wasn't equipped to keep the card cool & quiet) 2. Temps 3. Gaming performance 4. Looks (Closed/No Window case) Games I mostly play: Forza Motorsport 7, World of Warcraft, Civ V and VI, various other older games. I don't quite play the latest games. I'd say Forza is the most demanding game I play. Specs: i5 4690K, 16GB RAM, Asus Z97-A/3.1 ATX MoBo, EVGA 550W PSU, Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX case with all fan slots filled Monitor: One 1080p/60 FPS monitor and one 900p monitor. Other thoughts: Seeing that the AMD cards tend to run hotter, I'd like to go Nvidia but I've had good luck with AMD cards in the past (excluding the RX 560). The 1660 Ti seemed to be the best choice, but I've read a few reviews that talked about the Gigabyte and MSI 2-fan coolers not running quiet. Paying for a premium 3-fan card that Gigabyte/ASUS offers seems like poor value. After seeing the stickied "cooler ranking tiers" thread, it still seems like a 3-fan card may be the way to go, but the value still seems poor. Any comments, suggestions, or questions would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the rumors were correct about the nomenclature of this card. If this turns out to be real, I hope we can get a more thorough explanation about why this name choice was selected.
