Budget (including currency): 1200 - 1400 euro Country: The Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FPS Shooters like Halo Infinite and Strategy games Other details Mouse and headphones are already there, only need a mechanical keyboard with a pricetag of about 60 euro. Resolution will be 1080p or 1440p depending on what monitor I will buy. Monitor won't be included in the budget but I'll appreciate any recommondations. I already own an older Samsung 60Hz 24 inch monitor, using that as my secondary monitor for my laptop. I have an Acer Nitro 5 laptop with a 1650 and 9th gen i5 for school but games dont run smooth enough for me (Halo Infinite 40 fps on lowest graphics) and I've been dreaming of building a pc myself so that's mainly why I want this build. Also in the part list there are some options I want to choose between or something that's not on the list yet maybe, cant choose between a few options for example the CPU, Case and GPU. So any recommondations of parts that are not in my list are very welcome! And I hope everything is compatible with each other but so far I know it should work, however could anyone check this? I have a ryzen 5 1400 I am using now on my gaming rig (used to have 2600, but its in my work machine now... waiting for after scalpers go away to get something better.) I dont need bleeding edge performance, I just want the most stable experience, with least issues. Don't have time to play around with overclocking. What is a "basic" light overclock that i can throw on that will not screw me up, but not leave too much performance on the table?

Budget (including currency): $1400 USD Country: U.S. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: COD, APEX, Overwatch, GTA etc, haven't branched out much since I've been limited by my current laptop Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I don't really have any peripherals but I'll make them work for now. I can get a crappy $20 keyboard and mouse from walmart or something in the mean time. I need a monitor and have one included in a couple rough draft builds. I also don't have windows but I figured I'd use the demo version until I can get a legit copy. Which one is better for gaming. Ryzen has more threads, but intel i5 obviously has better single core perfomance. Which one would be better?
-
What do you all think of the Quad Core Ryzen 5 CPUs now that they are out? Are they performing as good as you thought they were going to? What do you want to see improved? I personally am impressed so far with the Ryzen 5 quad core CPUs, they seem to be getting better gaming performance than the i5 7400 and even 7500, and render really well.

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/amd-ryzen-5-1400-gets-first-gaming-video-comparison-intel-core-i5/#ixzz4dHjXktBk In the article and video, it shows how the lowest end CPU of the Ryzen 5 compares to Kaby Lake and the cheapest Pentium g3258 using 2600MHz speed and an Overclock to 3.8GHz. The interesting thing that intrigues me is that the CPU usage in the games done in the video never reached 100%, but was close in Hitman and Tomb Raider. Performance wise, the chip offers close to i5 Kaby Lake performance, while being $30 cheaper depending on where you are. If optimized, what would performance be like compared to an i5?

I just build a Ryzen system, R5 1400 with ASUS Prime B350 Plus with 16GB of 2400MHZ Pacific SUN Ram. My current GPU is a Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming. Everything is running just fine at first setup. I am not overclocking but did set optimized settings in UEFI to max the clocks to 3.8 GHz. I played my favorite game, Skyrim Legendary Edition and streamed (using a second dedicated streaming PC, not the Ryzen) to Youtube. After 3 hours of playing all monitors went black. I hit reset and was able to resume gaming. Later I did some stress tests using Heavyload on the CPU and after 1 minute I was able to replicate the crash. I then set defaults in the UEFI, still crashed. The CPU is being cooled by a spare Wraith cooler from my old FX 8370. The temps are hitting 55 degrees. I got some advise and had to downclock the Ram to 2133 MHz. I also set the motherboard back to defaults except for the ram. Ran Heavyload again and it lasted for 10 minutes at stock clocks. I was curious and I had it auto overclocked to 3.8 GHz again with the 2133 MHz ram, but that crashed i minute into stress test. So I have everything in stock now with 2133 MHz ram and it's ok. I do wish to be able to up the clock again later. I wanted to know what people thought of this issue and if anyone else have any advise.

budget BUDGET PC ---- Ryzen 1400 or Pentium g4560
halstead101 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
This is my first PC build with about a $500-$700 (US dollar) budget (the less the better though). Spending more on the Ryzen will definitely give me a better price/performance value but upgrading the Intel would most likely be easier in the future. It will mainly be used as a light gaming rig and a general multi-purpose PC. I don't need any peripherals. Here are the two part lists: Intel: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/halstead101/saved/nYf4D3 Ryzen: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/halstead101/saved/ByLxrH Feel free to suggest things that will cut down on cost and/or add performance. Thanks! -
CPU: R5 1400 - Overclocked to 3.9GHz Motherboard: ASUS Prime B350 Plus (latest BIOS) GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000 MHz (got it clocked at 2933 MHz) So I was able to overclock my Ryzen 1400 to 3.9 GHz. I use a Cooler Master Hyper T4. When stress testing using Prime 95, I was getting 80 degrees tops using NZXT Cam and Hardware Monitor. However, when I look at ASUS AI Suite, I was only running at 65 Degrees on the CPU. Which one is more accurate?

Ryzen 5 1400 (temps are fine) (latest AMD drivers installed) MSI A320M Grenade (updated to second latest bios) Mushkin REACTOR 250GB WD Blue 500 GB (unplugged but freezes still occurred) (previous part in the old build) G. SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (tested memtest and it passed w/ no errors) ASUS Geforce Dual GTX 1050 Ti (previous part in the old build) EVGA 600 B1 So I am trying to find out what is wrongs with friend’s computer. Computer freezes when playing world of Warcraft (also when opening the blizzard app: closed and it still freezes on other games) or Ghost recon wildlands. It occurs randomly. No overclocks present and blue screens have occurred . I thought it was windows creator update, but I think I ruled it out by installing windows 8.1(both fresh installs ). How can i find the thing that is causing the freezes ? What should i be looking in event viewer ? (randomly i am thinking it could be dog hair could haven gotten to the socket ?)

Should I go for a Ryzen 1400 or should I wait for the i3 8300. Im building a pc for my little brother and im not sure which CPU I should get for him. He mostly plays games some of which are very CPU dependent like PUBG or Arma. The 1400 has 4C 8T and the i3 will only have 4C but the I3 has a higher clock speed and by personel experience an Intel Chip is ALWAYS better for CPU demanding games. I dont want to overclock the 1400 because buying an expensive motherboard+cooler wouldn´t fit in the budget.

I'm recently purchased a freesync 1080p monitor and a Ryzen 5 1400 , and I want to upgrade my R9 380, at the end of the year and I want something a little bit overkill, I was thinking on a Vega 56, but I'm not sure if the cpu it's going to get behind a lot or if it's going to be able to handle it.

i purchased a new machine to upgrade from a FX 6300. curious question. is CPU-Z misdiagnosing my core count because its showing 2C/4T and i am a bit lost on that. but really ever since i re did my computer i get crashes from the simplistic task. like watching a VLC movie. my specs are below but i would love some insight because i am about to take this back and i would hate to do so Spec: Motherboard: Gigabyte A320M-HD2 CPU: Ryzen R5 1400 Ram Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200 Mhz GPU: MSI GTX 970 PSU: Thermaltake 750M Gold

So, am looking to purchase 5 ~ 7 new systems for my newly opening office, and am looking at Ryzen 3 1200, 2200G and ryzen 5 1400, anything other than them is strictly out of budget as they cost way too much than am willing to pay for 5 ~ 7 systems, especially 2400g and higher up cpu's. Most of the time we'll be working with unity and visual studios, but i'd also like to have them have the ability to play some old games with lan play enabled in our free time (games like dungeon siege 2, Titan Quest, dirt, Age of empires, borderlands, War of the Overlord, Rocket league, Space hulk death wing, paladins, Planetside 2) and similar games @ 720p (Note - not a complete list of games we'll play but some games in my head at the moment) In case of Ryzen 3 1200 and Ryzen 5 1400 i'll get GT 1030 GPU, but i prefer not to add additional expenses, bah what i am saying is i want to know if 2200G is good enough so that i dont need to buy Ryzen 5 1400 + GT 1030, saving some cash on 5 ~ 7 systems as i have other expenses which can use it. Where i live a Ryzen 5 2400G costs - $180 Ryzen 3 1200 costs - $75 Ryzen 5 1400 costs - $134 Ryzen 3 2200G costs - $112 GT 1030 costs - $96 I'd also like to know if A320M boards are good enough for Ryzen 3 1200, Ryzen 5 1400 and 2200G or should i go for B450M for 2200G ? (yea i wont be overclocking any of them) Does ryzen 3 2200G benefits from having dual channel memory? since it uses an integrated GPU ? last but not the least, I dunno how good quadcore cpu's are in this age and time, are they still good for light multiplayer gaming? i mean i will grudgingly go for 2400G if they are not viable but i really rather not, seeing how few the gains are compared to 2200G in games. Note - non of these will be my main rig since i already got an overpowered personal work station. Thank you for the time.

I have been wanting to upgrade my CPU for my gaming pc. I am not that tech savy so any help would be good. Currently my GPU is a Radeon rx470. I was doing some research and found that the Ryzen 5 1400 causes the least amount of bottlenecking with my GPU. I was wondering the effects of a gpu bottleneck compared to a cpu bottleneck. In addition, what FPS differences will I been seeing if i want to get a Ryzen 2600x compared to the Ryzen 5 1400/1600.

Hi all, Been looking at this for a while but need to see what other people think. Wanting to upgrade my PC from my fx-8350 @4.8GHz to ryzen 5, but don't know whether to go for 1400 or 1600. With having a family and a house to run I don't have the option of just "saving up" and will be planning to do this with my birthday money at the end of the month. This also means I don't really have the option of waiting till Zen+ but I don't think it'll make that much difference anyway. I'm running a 980ti hybrid (horrible overclocker, not stable at anything above stock speeds even with bios voltage/power mods) running games like assassins creed (playing through the series) project cars 2, maybe farcry 5 when it comes out and pubg when I can afford it. Obviously the 1600 will be better but will the 1400 be sufficient? Any advice is appreciated, sorry for the long post and no potato.

I will be building a pc but confused with these two cpus... I am planning to use discreet gpu( gtx 1050ti or rx 570 whichever i get cheap). I want a decent pc like 60 % for gaming and 40% in for my work( web development/designing , photo shop/ and short video edit(1 minutes)). I am tight in budget only $250 - $270 on cpu and gpu . So which cpu will work fine ? R3 2200g or R5 1400? And can any one please tell if there is any performance difference between them? Thank you !

Hi I already have this much of my build ready but I want it to be checked and I need and idea for a PSU. Thanks.

Hi guys/gals/others! I'm buying a new pc somwhere in between xmas and new year's and would like some help/tips. My total budget including shipping would be at $1430. The only real requirement that I'm picky about is the case, really want a blue case. This is my build so far:http://www.inet.se/kundvagn/visa/8930889/so-far I live in Sweden but it lands on around $1300. I'm missing the 2-3TB HDD and could possibly save some money in using my old PSU. I just really want something new and fresh ~ My OLD AND FIRST pc (about 2 years old budget build): CPU: AMD FX 6300 Black Edition (4.2GHz OC) Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo GPU: 2GB Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270x (1120 MHz Core and 1500 Memory OC) SSD: Kingston V300 120GB MOBO: AsRock 970 Extreme 4 PSU: Corsair RM 650W Gold HDD: 1TB WB Green RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 1600MHz 8GB EDIT 1: I would like to of course OC my CPU and GPU a bit. EDIT 2: For the past two years of using my computer I've only been playing games like League, GTA V and BattleBlock Theater settings that have given me an okay framerate and would of course want to be able to play anything really. I don't need to have everything on ultra settings as long as I can have my 60+FPS. Any input is greatly appreciated <3 Happy holidays! ~
