Ever since I installed my new ssd and a fresh Windows 11 install, I'm always having this notification when booting into Windows. Basically, it prompts me saying: Microsoft Defender Antivirus is periodically scanning your device. Which in my case sounds fine. But follows up with, You're also using another antivirus programme for active protection. Funnily enough I'm not, but could Microsoft's PC Manager be interfering with this? Obviously, it's an open beta and you would expect stuff like this but I don't know when this weird notification started popping up. I quite like it, as it does actually lower my ram's utilisation, however, I would rather get rid of it if this annoying notification went away. Though I don't know what's making it happen. Any suggestions?

Hi, Today after booting into Windows I loaded my browser, discord and a game in around a few minutes. Immediately after just launching the game of course I get a bsod reading: kernel mode heap corruption. Seconds after I got back into windows and started to investigate and found no corrupt files by running sfc /scannow and nothing else and no all my drivers are up to date. So I really don't understand, I've ran the memory diagnostic tool and no errors. I'm literally working with nothing and don't know where to start. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sorry for long post, but i try to be specific enought, i had a system with the specs: CPU: i7-4790k MB: Asus Z97-A GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC RAM: 16 GB kingston DDR3 PSU: 660W Seasonic 80+platinum STORAGE (all ssd): 128 GB Kingston SATA 250 GB Samsung 850 PRO SATA (Windows) 250GB Samsung 950 pro NVME 1TB Crucial MX300 This system worked perfectly for years, but last sunday it went into recovery mode when i started the system. I was not able to get into windows no matter what i tried. My CPU was due for upgrade, so i thought that **** it, and built a new system with the following specs: CPU: i7-12700K MB: Asus Z690-P D4 GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC (from old system) RAM: 32 GB Corsair DDR4 PSU: 660W Seasonic 80+platinum (from old system) STORAGE: two 1 TB samsung 980 PRO NVME I was trying to install Windows 11 to the new system, with the following setup: All peripherals (keyboard, mouse, audio interface and usb-headphones) and screens connected. My screens are Dell U2715H (primary) and Dell P2219H (secondary). The displays are connected with display port cables, and daisy chained such that the primary display is first in the chain. During the installation, the screen went suddenly black and the system restarted into recovery mode. this happended around the time when the install asks for windows user, keyboard things and such. I tried 3 times, always with the same result. Then i tried to install Windows 10, same thing. Then i tried to install Windows 10 with minimal setup, so i disconnected the other SSD and the GPU, and used the integraded graphics of the CPU. I also only had the keyboad and mouse connected to USB ports. This time the installation was succesfull, so i thought okay, lets try same with Windows 11, and it worked. Then attached the SSD and GPU, everythign worked fine, until i installed the latest nvidia drivers. After installing the drivers, it only took a while until the screen went black, and into recovery mode. I rebooted the system, and was able to log into windows normally, but in under one minute, the screen went black again, and into recovery. It tried this like 5 times with the same results. I ran the windows ram memcheck, there were no errors. I was able to get back into windows by disconencting the GPU, and using the integradted graphics again. I removed the nvidia drivers, connected the GPU back, and then installed older drivers (497.09), after this the system ran fine, and i played games for like 5 hours with no issues. I also ran prime95 for 10 minutes, so i don't think its a power issue. Then today when i turned the system on, it went straight into recovery mode, this was very frustrating. What i noticed was that the secondary display was off, i turned it on, rebooted, and then windows started normally. This behaviour never happended with the old system. This whole thing seems unstable and unpredictable, any suggestions or comments regarding this? In hindsight, i should have tried the old system with the integrated graphics, but the PSU is already in the new system, so...

https://windowsreport.com/windows-11-upgrade-bricked-pc/ So I had my new HP-15s laptop for a week now, got the free Windows 11 upgrade with it. Unfortunatly windows update auto-magically updated my BIOS which killed my W11 installation with a "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" BSOD. Currently trying to fix it while having a heart attack. SOLUTION: Turn on your laptop and hold down F11 for recovery. Say bye bye, to your files and clean install Windows 11. Fortunately all of my files from university are safe in the cloud. Officially too scared to update ever again.

Hey! This thing comes when I try to update and it says, "This PC doesn't currently meet all the system requirements for Windows 11". Now I know I have to enable tpm which I already did and still getting this error. After searching for a while I saw I have to enable secure booting as well. I'm using Asus ROG B450-F with Ryzen 5 3600. Can someone please help me guide to enable secure booting? Or do I have to do something else to get Windows 11 going on? Help!

Last night, I updated my laptop to the official release of Windows 11. Now, for some reason, certain sites are extremely slow to load; particularly YouTube won't load 1080P video, sometimes not even 720P. I know it's not my internet connection because when I run a speed test, I'm getting 200+ Mpbs. I'm hoping the fix is as simple as changing a setting somewhere. I just don't know what to do. I can always go back to Windows 10, but I'd prefer not to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, Today I tried to launch Valorant to play some games with friends after a long time and I got the error code VAN9001 which wants me to enable TPM 2.0 and secure boot. I already had TPM 2.0 enabled so I went to BIOS to enable secure boot. To do that I had to change boot mode to UEFI from Legacy + UEFI. I did that and secure boot option asked me to disable CSM. I checked my boot driver's compatibility and then I disabled CSM and restarted. Now it says that GOP driver is not available for my GPU. I think my GPU doesnt support UEFI. But I can't go back to Windows 10 without losing data. Is there anything I can do to fix this? / i don't know much about these kinds of stuff, i tried to explain it the best i could. hopefully it all makes sense.. Build: MOBO: MSI b450 tomahawk max CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: MSI R9 270 16GB RAM

Uhm.... Great! Windows 11 installation IS weird. [TL;DR: Windows Installation Error. The installer succeeds but then boots right back into windows 10 with this error: 0xC19001 - 0x20017.] So today (and yesterday) I had tried to install windows 11 with a genuine ISO downloaded through an installer script from UUPDump I extract the ISO and place it in a folder in my C:(no particular reason for that), then I run the setup.exe. The installer opens, checks for updates, and then shows a blue screen with "Installing Windows" and the progress bar. When it reaches to a 100%, it reboots as it should and the loads me back to my windows 10 and when I sign back in, the following error shows up(also attached in the screenshot): I have checked in other forums too but all seem to suggest the same things which don't work. I have Kaspersky AV which I uninstalled before win11 installation. Yes I have firmware TPM enabled and Secure boot selected to "Other OS" (because when it's selected to "windows" the installer doesn't like to start). I also have enough drive space in my NVME boot drive (34GB approx). I also don't think that my drivers are interfering the process, although I'm not sure. I have also attached the "setuperr.log" file which I have retrieved from "C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\" Thank you for reading. setuperr.log

Windows 11 has generated a lot of buzz, but not all of it has been positive. Many people think they’ll be left behind, but is that really true? Windows 11: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows/windows-11 UUPDump: https://uupdump.net/

I decided to test-flight the Windows 11 Beta. I got my filthy hands on the ISO. So far so good. Now, I'm used to just dumping the ISO content onto a GPT/FAT32 partition and UEFI boot off of it. But this ISO is not making it easy. The install.wim file is over 4GB in size and as such cannot be copied to a FAT32 volume. I google-fu'd a solution, which was to use DISM to split the wim into multiple files. Fair enough, I have do my share of DISMing back in the day (turns out these DISM operations have a pretty neat PowerShell analogs these days, and one feels more like a pro using those, right?: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/dism/split-windowsimage?view=windowsserver2019-ps). This installer (with the split wim files sneaked into the relevant folder (sources) instead of the install.wim) boots fine, but the installation falls on its face prematurely with an error some 2% into the 'copying files' part. Now, this might be due to the split wim image, I don't really know, maybe there were more steps to follow after the splitting that I overlooked . Now, I'm a resourceful boi so this didn't stop me, though the following step might feel like a bit of an overcomplicated reach-around: I have - created a virtual machine in Hyper-V (has to be Gen 2 if we want it to UEFI boot, which we do) - loaded the original Win11 ISO into the VM's emulated optical drive - attached one of my physical drives to the VM (my other, non-system M.2 NVMe disk) - this is done by first making it offline in Disk Management, then adding it to the VM - booted the VM from the ISO - started the Windows 11 Beta installation to the attached disk - wait for the first (or the second is fine, too) reboot phase and shut down the VM - booted up my PC from the SSD that was in the middle of the install process - It picked up from there Anyway. This is how I managed to handle my 'installer media' problem. This may be helpful to someone with a similar problem, or you can share if you have a different solution (as long as it's not burning the ISO to an actual DVD - it's 2021 ffs!). Hmm, maybe I could have just 'imaged' the ISO onto an external USB flash drive? But in my experience those tools don't always work as they should.

Hey, not sure if this is the right place so I can take it down and move it if I need to but I just had a weird issue crop up on one of my monitors. My 16x9 1080p monitor (Acer) randomly had the taskbar height increased. The icons are the same size, no difference there, and my other Ultrawide monitor is fine. I didn't see an adjustment for taskbar height in the main settings for taskbar and when I look online everything is talking about regediting to get a larger or smaller size icon, but not the changing the gap of the taskbar itself. Let me know if anyone else has experienced this before. Thanks

Hey LTT Forum members! This is my first time in here, and well...I need help! I've been running Windows 11 for months now (with no issues.......until now) and have had a great experience. Now, I just upgraded my motherboard to an MSI B550-A PRO. After booting into windows since the upgrade, however, it says that my pin must be reset (sometimes it says due to a security change, other times it just says 'something happened'...darn you Windows 11 security B*LLSH*T). When I go to reset my pin, windows asks me to login to my Microsoft account and prompts me with a window to type my password. However, my keyboard won't type letters or numbers. The caps lock works (and Windows even gives me a little pop up to let me know that Caps Lock is on) so I know the keyboard is detected. I've tried other keyboards...same results. I even turned on the ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD...and it simply won't type letters or numbers into the password box! So, currently, I have a very expensive brick sitting on my desk with a brand new motherboard. If anyone knows how to fix this issue, it would be wonderful. Specs (although this has to be a software issue, right?): Ryzen 7 3700X GTX 1070 MSI B550-A PRO 16GB Ripjaws V @3200 WD M.2 SSD P.S...Just to add to the pain, I've tried booting from a USB and resetting windows. My brand-spanking-new motherboard doesn't even detect my windows 11 USB as a bootable device. Sick. Edit: Also, the login screen says it's 2:17 when it's 8:47. I don't know if this is related at all but...okay? Edit 2: Oh that was just because my BIOS time was off lol ok...also my USB is detected now so I do have an "out" of sorts...but it's preferred that I don't need to wipe my drive

Long story short: I am on windows 10 and my update assistant is stuck on a loop. I cannot update my OS. Do not try to help me, you will waste your time. I have spent hours trying every solution known to mankind and none of them work. If you think you have a solution, I have tried it. With that out of the way, my only option is to reinstall windows 10 or 11. I want to upgrade to 11, so I will do that. However, because my windows update service doesn't work, I cannot install it the easy way. That leaves me two options: -install it manually by downloading the actual installation file and running it. however, the way to do this is to download the right version from this big, big list of options. I have no idea which one I should choose. I dont have a link to it but I will check my history to find it later. -install it via media drive. media drive is probably my best bet. one issue: it would delete all of my data and programs. I am aware there is a "keep personal files" option, but I feel like in the past I have done this option and it erased all of my data. If the erasing my data thing is just a rare occurrence, does "keeping my files" refer to both the programs and files, or just the literal files? thanks guys for reading. please help.

Now hear me out. I know Microsoft said they will be offering "Windows as a service" from now on but looking at the current adoption rates and seeing their strategies for getting people to adopt Windows 10 up to this point, it looks like they may be pulling another move relatively soon. Heck, the last decade has a seen a release every 3 years so if the trend continues, we'll have another OS next year. I just want to know what people think Microsoft will do. Do you think they'll put out a new version of Windows in order to fix the problems of telemetry or do you think they'll update the current one (like you would expect from a "as a service" OS) in order to do the same job? Other possibilities are also welcome. Also, Microsoft DOES have to pivot in some way shape or form because persevering the way they've done has stalled them at a 25% market adoption and they can't beat out their now 8-year-old OS with their current strategy. Thoughts?

So I am trying to render a ~5 minute video, with a fair but of audio cuts and video inputs, but every time I try to render the video, the rendering STOPS at 24% rendering. Vegas Pro doesn't crash or stop responding, it just stops counting frames rendered. Trying to close out of the rendering window, it states i've stopped the render, but the window doesn't disappear and the cancel button stays inactive. I've tried disabling GPU rendering, i've tried rendering in different formats, i've been struggling with this problem for close to a day now and it's driving me insane. Any help?

Okay we can expect these to be cheaper than RX V56 unless the minors steal them to mine in the Minecraft but does anyone here expect the to be near a 1070? 56 was slightly better can we expect these to be slightly below?

New features: 4 option variable flashlight brightness New control center layout New customization control center Screen recorder (finally!) The new "Files" app New disabled notifications while driving (good for the teens) New live photo effects (like Instagram with their "Boomerang") New and improved SIRI commands (including: "play something I like", "close (app)") New look to the passcode when opening the phone New look to close an apple New look to control center New look of easy access bar on IPads New "Dock" for IPad multitasking New "Drag and Drop" to IPads (Allows you to move text, photos, etc across apps) More powerful use of Apple Pencil New document scanner in Notes New "QuickType" keyboard New "ARKit" framework (see below) The new ARKit framework allows developers to build "...unparalleled AR experiences. By blending digital objects and information with the environment around you, augmented reality takes apps beyond the screen, freeing them to interact with the real world". This new framework baseically says that Apps now know everything you do and now can interact with you. Which is pretty dang scary. Anyway... Apple IOS 11 comes out this fall! It should definitely change the iPhone, iPad and all of Apple. More information is available at apple.com/ios/ios-11-preview If you want to participate in IOS 11 Beta visit: beta.apple.com
