Hello, I was looking to make a purchase for 3070 but i am concerned if the 8gb GDDR6 memory will be enough for the best 5-6 years or not for just 1080p gaming. Not going to upgrade to 1440p for sure. Can anyone help me with this query? Thanks.

Budget (including currency): $1.5k, ballpark is ok Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Grand Theft Auto V, Overwatch, and Fortnite. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): He wants a good 1080p monitor, or should he get an ultra-wide? Is the monitor in the list good? He wants a high frame rate, around 144-165hz. High game settings. Is the graphics card good for high-max settings? He was going to get Nvidia at first, but saw AMD got better reviews. Hey guys, I am looking for a build for around 850$ CAN BEFORE tax to do 1080p gaming, video game creation with the unity game engine and other generic office stuff (Web surfing, Microsoft office) but mostly gaming. Can you guys suggest a PCPP parts list PLZ! Also, for bonus points, maybe tell me what you predict the performance the build should achieve (EX: this build should make XX FPS in XXXXX game at XXX settings.) Some suggestion: A case good for noobs (This will be my fist ever PC build, so something easy to build in [ATX or Micro ATX] ) A 1TB HDD (SSD not necessary, but would be appreciated) Quad-core intel core i5. Networking card/adapter. Windows 10 64 bit. All help EXTREMELY appreciated!!!

ryzen Software Update Boosts Rise of the Tomb Raider Performance
NuclearKing posted a topic in Tech News
https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Rise-Tomb-Raider-Gets-Ryzen-Performance-Update Crystal Dynamics released an update to their popular Rise of the Tomb Raider game, significantly increasing Ryzen game performance. The update did the following: Clearly developers have taken an interest in optimizing titles for Ryzen, and bringing Ryzen game performance within the ~7% IPC difference from Intel, rather than the large differences that were seen initially due to the majour architecture difference. Performance changed rather significantly: That is not the whole story however. Not only did the engine become more efficient, it actually lowered overall CPU utilization, indicating wasted resources in the last version of the game. This could potentially be present in many other games, resulting in wasted power that could be better utilized. Frame times decreased drastically as well, with frametime consistencies improving significantly, creating a much more fluid and pleasant gaming experience.- 17 replies

So I'm building a 1080P E-sports pc for the younglings in the family. I plan on using: R7 360, a xeon x5472, a few sata and pata hdds lying around, and this motherboard http://www.ebay.com/itm/381646409262?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT the question I have is if this psu should have all the right connections and is the right one for the job (I know 650 and up is what I need) http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-Power-AK-680W-20-4-pin-ATX-Black-PSR-Power-Supply-w-SATA-PCIe-120mm-Fan/371591052764?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D2220072%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40130%26meid%3D0a9ccc2927fc4bc6842cfd313e41595f%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D221590100961

Hey, Forum ! Recently my trusty GTX570 gave up on life and I've been using my ancient 8 year old AMD Radeon HD4870, which has been a painful step back in terms of gaming performance (You know times are tough when you have to turn down the graphic details in DotA 2 and CS:GO). So it's definitely time for a solid GPU upgrade. My price range would allow for either an RX480 or GTX1060. Unfortunately prices for these cards have not settled yet and reached the originally advertised price points, at least here in Germany (Amazon.de). But last week two decent offers popped up: https://www.amazon.de/XFX-rx-480p8lfb6 Radeon-480 Serie-Grafikkarte - Schwarz/dp/B01JM1C5BY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476524620&sr=8-1&keywords=xfx+rx+480 https://www.amazon.de/Palit-NE5106015J9J-Jetstream-PCI-Express-Speichertaktgeschwindigkeit/dp/B01IMZTEBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476526605&sr=8-1&keywords=palit+1060 Now I need your help deciding which one to go for. System Specs: Mobo: Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 CPU: i5-2500k (OC'd to 4.5Ghz) CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO RAM: 4x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz PSU: BeQuiet 630W SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB GPU Requirements: - Great 1080p gaming (highest settings at a smooth 60+ fps) - Good overclocking capability - Good cooling Desired aspects (not a necessity): - Dual card (SLI/Crossfire) support for "future-proofing" - possible upgrade to a 144Hz Freesync (<--AMD) monitor in the future. G-Sync monitors are bonkers expensive imo. Games I'd like to play: - Battlefield 1 & 4 - Crysis 3 - Star Wars: Battlefront - Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor From what I've gathered both the XFX and Palit cards have decent quality components, which should hopefully give a reasonable amount of overclocking headroom. JayzTwoCents recent review of the XFX RX480 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWASNajSdpg) just piles on the compliments and taking DX12, Vulcan and better long-term support by AMD for their "older cards" coupled with the possiblity of adding a second 480 to achieve "near GTX1080 performance" is definitely making me lean towards Team Red. Yet, the majority of games at the moment use DX11, which is better territory for the 1060. Taking these many aspects into consideration, what would you recommend? Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions! Cheers

1. Budget & Location My budget goal is $1200 or less this is for a whole setup including All peripherals minus the speakers. My location is the United States. 2. Aim My aim is to build a Gaming rig that can play at 1080 p with above decent gaming peripherals. What I will be typically doing on the PC is using Spotify, YouTube and Long gaming sessions. The games I plan to play are listed below with the preferred settings and FPS AAA Titles (Med- High settings and 70+ FPS GTA 5 Rainbow Six Siege The Division 2 ( when it comes out) Pubg Less Demanding Games( VeryHigh-Ultra/Max with 200+FPS) CS:GO Leauge of Legends GMod 3. Monitors I plan to play one one monitor and continue to only use one monitor not planning to add more for the future 4. Peripherals Yes, I need peripherals and an OS. For the peripherals I would like them to be better than decent because I’m going to be playing a lot of competitive games and don’t want to have trash peripherals. 5. Why are you upgrading? I’ve been playing on a laptop for 5+ years now and while it’s still decent I only run 30fps on CS:GO and I guess you can see what the problem would be if I tried any AAA titles. Also it’s shuts down from overheating. Other details 1. it’s not my first time building a PC. 2. Staying under $1200 for my ideal setup 3. If possible to find an even cheaper build and receive the same FPS and settings would be amazing. 4. Yes I have done research, but I don’t know exactly if I’m receiving the best bang for my buck since with my 12 hour shift it limits the research I’ve been able to do, my friends recommended I talk to the community of this forum for help. Thank you for any help provided looking forward to join the unique community of PC Gamers I’ve linked the two builds I have create Intel Build PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wMfdxG Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wMfdxG/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i3-8100 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor ($118.90 @ B&H) Motherboard: ASRock - B360M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($68.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($149.99 @ Amazon) Storage: ADATA - XPG SX6000 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($62.99 @ Newegg Marketplace) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($58.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card ($299.89 @ OutletPC) Case: Thermaltake - Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($34.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($49.99 @ Amazon) Monitor: Acer - GN246HL 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor ($193.00 @ B&H) Keyboard: Logitech - G810 Orion Spectrum RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($84.99 @ Dell) Mouse: Logitech - G502 Proteus Spectrum Wired Optical Mouse ($49.99 @ Best Buy) Headphones: Kingston - HyperX Cloud II 7.1 Channel Headset ($92.00 @ Newegg Marketplace) Total: $1264.70 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-07-17 14:28 EDT-0400 Ryzen Build PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QbtCD2 Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QbtCD2/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($98.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI - B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard ($64.99 @ B&H) Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($165.98 @ Newegg Business) Storage: ADATA - XPG SX6000 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($62.99 @ Newegg Marketplace) Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($58.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card ($299.89 @ OutletPC) Case: Phanteks - Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($49.99 @ Amazon) Monitor: Acer - GN246HL 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor ($193.00 @ B&H) Keyboard: Logitech - G810 Orion Spectrum RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard ($84.99 @ Dell) Mouse: Logitech - G502 Proteus Spectrum Wired Optical Mouse ($49.99 @ Best Buy) Headphones: Kingston - HyperX Cloud II 7.1 Channel Headset ($92.00 @ Newegg Marketplace) Total: $1271.69 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-07-17 18:03 EDT-0400

TLDR: I need a small mini ITX Pc that I can bring on a plane So recently I've been looking into building a secondary Mini Portable PC that I could take around with me on a plane or something. I immediately fell in love with the Thermaltake Core P1 and was ready to paint my GPU and RAM to create an awesome looking build! Sadly I realise d that an open case was not the best idea to bring on a plane. (Duh) So I scrapped my idea, so that's where I am nowNg Budget Strictly under 700 US Location U.S, New York Use Gaming (Overwatch 1080p 60hz Ultra/Epic settings preferably) Peripherals Needed None Operating System Required Windows 10 Overclocking Probably not Form Factor A small mini ITX build (ik mini ITX is small but some mITX cases are much larger than others.) Other I will hopefully be giving whatever case I use a custom paint job. P.S This will be my second build so I am not a huge beginner.

How long would this build last if I want to run consistent 1080p@60fps before an upgrade? And how many years would I be able to run current VR games with playable settings? Also, when I do eventually upgrade this pc to try to reach 1080p@60fps again, would I only need to upgrade the gpu to eek out a few more years? P.S. I plan to use this machine for gaming and YouTube, not as a workstation. I already have a 700W psu and a 2TB HDD.

Issues / questions I can get a MSI GTX1060 6GB Gaming for exactly the same price as this RX580 so its hard to decide Certain PC assembly YT video's (from very popular YTers) tell me to update the motherboard UEFI once the build is complete and it starts. This is however an extremely risky maneuvre (since it could kill it if power falls out). Is this necessairy because i would rather avoid that if possible. If i run into issues when assembling it and get to the final stage where i have to take off the stock CPU cooler (with included thermal paste). Will i then have to buy additional thermal paste and removers or can i just stick it back on again? (i assume its the new thermal paste route) EDIT: i changed the RX580 for the GTX1060 mainly due to much lower power consumption and similar/identical performance

Hello, I am planning on building a hybrid pc for gaming/productivity. I want you guys to help me with a build guide. Though I will be using this system for blender and unreal engine, for mobile game development and not for 3d animation movie or designing in any autodesk application (maybe will use Maya not sure ) so please don't suggest xeon and quadro/firepro. Since I live in India, the difference in pricing will be from min. $20 - max $150 depending on the component. I am planning for an i5 but the min. cost of i5-6600K in India is $270(found this price in the darkest corner of Indian Market ) and GTX 1070 costs $560(Same Place). Now the problem is I have a limited budget of $1300-$1400, and each component I buy here will cost $40-$50 avg. more compare to US pricing. Please Suggest a build and also answer these: Q1. Should I wait and get GTX 1060, save money and get more storage, swag stuffs? Q2. Get i5 6600 and pair it with B150 chipset mobo, save money here and there to get gtx 1070? Q3. Getting K processor pairing it with B150 or H170 is a good idea(probably not but still worth a try? also how much of a diff. is their in B150/H170/Z170 mobos) ? Other Info: Don't suggest FX processor because they are really old and FX8370 cost same as i5-6600K. Amd RX 480 is an option I can go for but hate to say any amd product in India is way overpriced($400, that's way intel/nvidia provide's good value). Xeon build can work but only if they are old gen. also there is no guarantee that I can get it in here or not. I don't want buy online and ship it to my country because of the damage risk, custom issues etc. Hope you guys come up with a build guide for me(sorry in advance if its a pain since the price difference is really weird ). Also does having more Cuda cores means better performance in rendering in blender/UE etc?

I need a good 1080p gaming monitor, any recommendations? (And it doesn't need 1ms respone time)

What is going on ladies and gentlemen! Today I have a review of the Lenovo ThinkVision X24. I don't know if i really have any rights to be giving a review but i will just because i feel like i can. What made me buy this monitor: Well one day I was roaming around BestBuy looking for an invisishield for my phone when walking past the computer gaming department there was this super slim but beautiful monitor. I mean this thing was appealing as could be. The display was all neat and organized i couldn't just not stop and look at this thing. Played around with it and said forget single monitor setup i want duo and i want this in my setup Specs: Now specs on the other hand are very disappointing for the price it is at right now. I price matched it with amazon for $150 so that cut the price by 30% (i do know computers woot is selling it for $150 as well. Here is the link) It is a 24" 1080p 60hz "ips" display at 7ms. NOT the best for gaming but if you're playing moba's then its a perfect suit for you. Comes with a HDMI 1.4 and Display 1.2 ports; Kind of standard for 1080p Monitors. This monitor is NOT vesa mount compatible First impressions: Didn't want to make a separate sections about this but the packaging is very clean and neat. Comes with a circular stand, power adapter, monitor, and HDMI cord. The setting up of the monitor is easy and no tools necessary, just mount and twist. I hooked this baby up using HDMI, just until i get a display port. Now after setting everything up i did some 1080p youtube playback as well as some 1080p movie watching. It is nice because the slim bezels makes it almost feel bigger in a way. It is very thin in the back, which adds for a very ascetic appeal. Now the picture quality is dark. By dark i mean like 6 o'clock summer day dark. Not too bad that it takes away from much but enough where watching dark movies or Game of Thrones it's very hard to see. It also has a very noobish color correction feel to it. I know many video editors know what im talking about with like using the stock sony vegas/premier color correction effect. Feels very orangey, and just not an overall good look. I have tried adjusting the brightness on the monitor and on my computer. Can only make a little of difference. Overall: I've had this monitor for about a week now. It is alright. For the MSRP price point i wouldn't pick it up, but if you are able to price match it like i did and are looking for standard 1080p monitor this is the one for you. It is very clean and will turn heads. I've played games like: dark souls, naruto storm 4, League of Legends, WoW, and fallout 4, and haven't noticed anything awful when playing with the 7ms but when i have my 1ms acer monitor next to it. I like this monitor, just not at the price point. I will not be returning it or anything like that just due to the fact that it suit what im doing on my every day to day basis. For editing or intense productivity i'd stay away from this just because it will throw your color clarity off and it is just hard to stare at for hours on end. Conclusion: Buy it, if you're able to price match it My computer specs: Gigabyte something motherbaord intel i7 2600k 3.4ghz MSI GTX 960 4GB 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM H100i Cooler. Air 240 case
