Hello and thank you to the person taking the time to read this post. I've run into some issues with the NVIDIA control panel and haven't been able to find any working solutions in the posts I've come across up until now. I've already done a lot of troubleshooting over the last couple of days. This is the situation along with my findings during the process of trying to identify and fix the problem: I've connected my old samsung tv to my pc into a motherboard slot via a vga cable. This all works fine: it completely functions as a third monitor without any issues in functionality. I also wanted to use my tv speakers, though, so I tried connecting the tv via hdmi to my video card instead. This ended up in a bunch of weird resolution scaling issues, in which the output was overscanned and delayed (it's an old samsung tv). So I took out the hdmi and went back to the vga cable. (With this the resolution and timing all worked perfectly again) However, when opening my NVIDIA control panel from the tray icon, I noticed that the control panel option was missing, leaving only the geforce experience tab (see attached picture for what was there before this scenario) When clicking on the icon, the control panel wouldn't open either (geforce experience opens without issue though). From here on I've tried some workarounds and fixes, which I'll compile below: -I've reinstalled my nvidia drivers -repaired all my vcredist packages -restarted all nvidia applications in task manager -restarted NVIDIA Display Container LS. in services. After doing these things I could open it again. However, when I turn off my computer and turn it on again once or twice, I can't open it anymore. The tab above Geforce Experience (as shown in the attached picture: https://ibb.co/PgXCtmw) hasn't come back either after these fixes. After this I've tried unplugging my vga cable from the motherboard. After doing this, I could open it again on startup, without having to restart the NVIDIA Display Container in services. This stopped working too after about three times. While trying to unplug and replug my tv between restarts, my Background Engine (a program on steam for displaying moving backgrounds) is unable to recognise my tv monitor. I can still do everything else on the monitor while this happens though, but I still feel like this is connected to the issue. What still stands out as weird to me, though, is the fact that this monitor is attached to my motherboard, not my NVIDIA graphics card. At this point in time it's about a 15% chance that my NVIDIA control panel is able to open at all when I start up my computer. I can always fix this by restarting NVIDIA Display Container in services, but when I restart my computer I'm back to square one. My monitor also has issues with background engine about 25% of the time, but this fixes itself upon a restart. Thanks for reading this detailed list of my problem, if you've made it this far. Any insight is greatly appreciated. I'll be able to try out tips when I come home from uni later today. Thanks in advance!

I need help repairing a second hand gpu. They told me it powers on just doesn’t display. I took it apart and noticed some black powdery looking stuff that’s sticky. This residue was on top of the very small rectangular pieces(not sure if they are a different kind of capacitor or what; please assist me on the term for these). I have also provided a picture of what looks like something missing off the board. Could somebody please help me out figuring out the term for the super small rectangle pieces(one was loose and fell off near the mosfet chips). Also if there’s something missing I need to know what it’s called so I can replace. I have a heat gun and solder iron(I’m good with the tools just not familiar with the terms of these parts). Also if I can get a picture of their working gpu to compare that would be awesome! I have a Pny 1060 6gb.

Hey guys! I'm having a problem with my GPU fans, it just ramping up to 15K rpm every time. I didn't set anything pure stock config no overclock/fan curve. The GPU fan goes beast mode https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Zkwi9ry0fjca_cMOnsInka6rWyU7Kru/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/13afolq25F_7OSkwlRXrRdY6G8WAptrFh/view?usp=sharing

Hello everyone. sorry for my bad english. I want some help from you guyz to help me out for overclocking my 1060s 6gb specifically for mining. i just bought 3x 1060 6gb pny blower they are working fine but the hashrate is about 18mh. which is quite low for a 1060 6gb.. my other cards can do 20mh easily. but don't know if i can push it a bit further.. i am currently running it on hive os with ethminer.. the core clock is -250 (since i tried +200 and it basically didn't make a difference) memory clock is +600 ( which is +300 in msi afterburner) . power limit is at 80w. now i tried higher mem clock but it cannot handle above 600 otherwise it just crash.. stepping up the core clock also doesn't make a difference even if i set my power limit to 100w. my temps are also in lower 60s so that shouldn't be a problem too. now these graphic cards i bought just for mining.. i don't want to do anything with these cards.. but is there any bios mod or anything similar that can atleast make my hashrate to 20mh? i can try everything if anyone can suggest me. Thanks in advance

So with next gen approaching, I have the dilemma of, do I upgrade my 1060 in order to run all the new next gen games that are going to be coming out or just get them on console. Since most games like cyberpunk are right around the corner when preordering I'm at a loss of what I want to play it on. I can just play it on my Xbox one x or upgrade my pc if I even need to. I have recently gotten a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor and would like to get the most out of it. I have also just upgraded my cpu to a 9th gen i7 and my ram is at 16 gig although its a little old its pretty fast. So if i were upgrade my GPU what should I upgrade to? Would like to keep running games in high and ultra settings but am also somewhat on a budget. Help please.

Ok, so I've had a zotac amp 1060 since it pretty much came out but in the last year or 2 my screen would start turning off for a second and turn right back on. I have overclocked it in the past but nothing heavy and I didn't keep the overclock for long either. I have tried different cables so I know its not the cable and i put in a different gpu before and it wont do it with that gpu so I know the monitor is fine. any ideas what it could possibly be? Also when I turn off my pc and turn it back on it won't do it for awhile but once i start watching youtube or playing a game it starts happening about 15-20 min later

I have a i5 6400 with an asus 1060 6gb GPU, i cant play any games smoothly on my rig though i have a 75hz LG monitor, sometimes i have to choose 1600*900 resolution to get more fps and smoothness but cant hit the 75 fps in AAA games, is it normal or not, if not then should i upgrade my processor and if so what processor should i go for?

I'm sure all these cards have already been compared, however pricing is...different. And I also think that at the end of the day, a 1060 6GB is a 1060 6GB. With exception of the EVGA FTW+ and Asus STRIX OC cards, there seems to be no real significance to factory overclocked versions (on paper), however some factory OC cards come with superior cooling solutions such as the heat sink on the EVGA SuperClocked Gaming. So, how do these cards compare regarding these prices and concerning things like distributor/manufacturer support? Inno3D Twin X2 - N106F-2SDN-N5GS - 255,59€ KFA2 EX OC - 60NRH7DVM6EK - 259,80€ PNY - GF1060GTX6GEPB - 277,90€ PNY XLR8 - KF1060GTXXG6GEPB - 312,00€ EVGA SuperClocked Gaming - 06G-P4-6163-KR - 273,95€ (Single fan) EVGA Gaming - 06G-P4-6262-KR - 309,85€ EVGA SuperSuperClocked Gaming - 06G-P4-6267-KR - 315,00€ EVGA FTW Gaming - 06G-P4-6268-KR - 329,00€ EVGA FTW+ Gaming - 06G-P4-6368-KR - 316,49€ ASUS STRIX - 90YV09Q1-M0NA00 - 323,95€ ASUS STRIX OC - 90YV09Q0-M0NA00 - 328,95€ Hope that isn't too tedious. EDIT: Oh, and I'll be running a mATX case with two 120mm fans in the front and one 120mm fan in the back as well as the power supply venting heat out the back. I have been recommended the EVGA SuperClocked Gaming (single ACX 2.0 fan) as it has a cheap but effective cooling solution as well as a mild factory OC.

Will it bottleneck that grade of card severely? I am buying one to upgrade to a 7700k in a year, that's why most of the money is allocated to the motherboard - for overclocking, and I will keep the GPU for a while after. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/7RVCtJ is my build

Hello all, I have an Optiplex 990 with an i5 2400, a D6H9T mobo, and a 1TB hdd. Does anyone know if I can mount this mobo in a Thermaltake Core v21, and then put a Corsair CX550M in it? Does this motherboard also support a 2.5" ssd and a 1060 6gb? If you know the answer to any of these questions, please respond. If these components are not compatible, please recommend some that are. Thanks!

Hey guys i am bulding a new pc and i wasn't sure about my decisions so i decided to ask you guys about it. My build right now is: I5 7600k 1060 6gb msi 4gb ×2 ddr4 crosair vengence 2400mhz Msi pcmate z270 700w crosair psu 250gb samsung 850evo Sedion 120v coolmaster liquid cooler I am not sure about the case yet..... I have some questions reguarding the specs. Q1. Do i need 6700k or should i go with 6700 or 6500 i5 versions? I am not going to overclock my cpu. Q2. Which gpu is better rx480 8gb or 1060 6 gb? I am going to do a lot of gaming (on average: 6 to 7 hours a day) and i am also an animator. Q3. Is 700w psu is needed for my build or it is lower or higher than needed? Q3. Which 1080p monitor should i buy? Can't afford too much. :# Things to ponder:- I am a animator. The softwares i am going to use are after affects, nuke and a lot of high end animation softwares. I am going play a lot of games for example watchdogs 2, witcher 3, doom and a alot more. But i am not going to play online more than 2 hour a day. I can't go too much over in budget than this. And thanks in advance.

Hello, basically, as the title says, i have 2 options for spending my money that i will have by the end of the year. 1) I can get and i would like to get a better mobo 2) save money and get next year Nvidia GPU equivalent to 1070 (2070/1170/1070Ti). Do you think that 1060 6G will last me for next few years for that resolution with no plans to move on higher res/refresh rate? I like AAA games like Prey and Wolfenstein, so i would like the card to run these at decent details/framerates. What do you think?

So i am building my first pc & im on a tight budget. I can either afford a 1050 TI, 1060 3GB, or a used 980 TI from ebay. Now I know 980 TI beats both of them but my bigger question is, Because its a last generation GPU, will this still be a good GPU for a few years? I am gonna play in 1080P @ 60 & 144hz.

Hello everyone. I am currently building my first custom PC. I am very excited to get started and I have half the parts on the way (shipped or shipping soon) already; but now I am curious as to if I chose a good power supply or not. So I figured I'd ask for input from y'all before ordering the power supply, as I know that a bad power supply has potential to destroy everything else in the system. Here is my planned build: Notice: I do not have RAM listed yet because I am still price-comparing between websites. I am thinking 2x4GB or 1x8GB and adding another 8GB in the future. So now to my main question. I want a Fully-Modular Power Supply, I want it to work for my build, and I want to be able to Overclock in the future. Did I choose a good power supply? Should I pick something else? is 620W enough? If this is a bad power supply, what are your suggestions? I'd like to stay under $60. Thanks so much and have a great day!

Hi people, I was wondering if I should go for 1050ti+G-synch screen or opt out of G-synch screen and upgrade 1050ti to 1060 6 gb using the money otherwise allocated to G-synch screen difference and pair it up with an ordinary mid-range 24ish inch screen? All inputs are mostly appreciated!

Hi guys, so I am building my first PC and I have some doubts. At first I was going to go with a i5 7600 and a 1060 6gb. But now I am more leaning to AMD's side because of the "new" Ryzen 5 1600 and it's better for me, at least I think because I do multitasking, streaming and light video editing. Then I started to wonder is 580(8 gb) better over the 1060. All the videos I saw, difference between them are small and I don't know which one to pick. Side note Il be taking 16 gb's of RAM. So I just need help to pick which one of the two, which one fits the Ryzen 5 1600 and should I even take Ryzen, maybe i5 is still better, anyhow thank you regards. (Edit) - What is going on with the price of rx 480's they are about 600-700 $?

Hello everyone, I have recently looked upon buying a gtx 1060 6GB, While doing research I noticed that their are many different manufacturers that make the GTX 1060 6GB, I was wondering what the differences are if you were to buy a gtx 1060 from lets say ASUS or from EVGA, In addition, what company or manufacturer is best, should I look simply based on the MHz????? Thanks In Advance

Hi my specs are in the tags, I recently upgraded cpu from i3 6100 to a ryzen 5 2600 because it was bottlenecking my gpu while playing apex legends. However now I'm getting a constant 60fps at 1080p but notice a stutter effect and the fps doesn't drop. Any idea about settings in game and nvidea which may help? I've tried the vsync options and I have a pretty simple monitor nothing like 144hz just the default I guess

I am planning to get a ryzen build by the end of this year, and I just want to check that I have chosen all the right components that are the most value for money. Here are the specs: NZXT H500 Ryzen 5 2600 Zotac 1060 6gb Amp! Edition Asrock B450M Pro4 CX650M Corsair PSU Corsair Vengeance LPX c15 3000mHz Seagate Barracuda 1TB Samsung Evo 860 250GB I know that the new ryzen cpus and GTX 1660 are coming soon, and I may opt for these if the price range is within my budget. Are there any other improvements besides the CPU and GPU that i can make? Should I get the corsair CXM series or invest more in the RMX series?
