Looking at my next build (in a couple months), 7800X3D/7900XTX (that I already have), will use either a Lancool III or an Antec Performance FT1, aircooled (TR PE120) Having a RM850x that I can't tell anything bad about, so I'm looking at Corsair PSUs in the 200EUR/ 1000W range (just to say I upgrade ) But they offer too many of them, which looks all good, all TierA at PSUCultists ! RM1000x 160EUR Cybenetics Platinum/A, but old design not ATX3.0 RM1000e 160EUR Gold/A-, ATX3.0/PCie5, a bit noisier ? RM1000x Shift 210EUR Gold/A, ATX3.0/PCie5, and I like the side connectors as I have a tendency to change/upgrade stuff in my PC. Seems compatible with my case choice HX1000i 230EUR, Plat/A, ATX3.0/PCie5, quality seems one notch above, dead silent, has digital output to ICue (which I hate..) None have a "native" 12VHPWR connector (that I don't need atm), all have enough PCie 8pins connectors Either I go cheap but then I can't see the advantage of the RM1000e vs RM1000x, the new 1000e seems just worse (what does ATX3.0 gives ?), or I can spend 50EUR more for the more practical "side connectors" of the Shift model .. Worth it ? Finally I can spend 20EUR more again for the higher end HX, but can't hardly justify it myself... Any thoughts/experience ?

My PC keeps turning off when i play a game on high graphics or benchmark the GPU. If i set the graphics to low then it never crashes. This leads me to believe the power supply is not providing enough power then shuts off. However, I do have a beefy 1000W PSU, so i do not think this should be a problem. Anyone have an idea what could be the issue? The whole system is custom loop water-cooled, so over heating is not the issue. So it turns out PSU shopping is extremely.... scary. All the negative reviews on nearly all PSU's make things scary for me. I dont want to fry all my components with a bad PSU that gets banged up trying to make it to my Minnesota house. I will list the specs to my new build below, I just need a reliable PSU and I am only used to building with Non-Modular but Semi-Modular and Fully Modular will work if I need to take the next step in building with those. Specs: Case (cause this matters): Phanteks (PH-ES614PTG_BK) Enthoo Pro ATX Chassis Motherboard: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X RAM: DDR4 3200Mhz 32GB (4x8GB) GPU: AMD SAPPHIRE RX 6800 XT NITRO+ SE 16GB CPU COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L RGB V2 (Assuming this matters since it uses power) I was assuming I needed something more than 800W (I have a spare PSU, but I dont want to use it on this build) On Newegg I found this one https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-ssp-1000rs-1000w/p/N82E16817151238 but no reviews and i have no idea if it is reliable. If anyone has any better suggestions and can link the PSU, this would be helpful. Maybe I am wrong with how much I truly need, maybe a 850W? Still, the struggle is finding something reliable.

So i built a new system and used my old power supply, but im going to get a 3090 in the next couple of months and my current psu isnt going to cut it(i feel like it). Current psu is seasonic focus gx750. My specs are: 5900x with ek 360 elite aio b550-xe mobo 32gb of 3600mhz g.skill ram Storage: 1 nvme m.2 drive 1 ssd 1 2tb hdd Extra stuff: 10 case fans Gpu im going for is msi 3090 suprim[3x8pins] or asus tuf[2x8pins](im still deciding). I used bequiet psu calculator and they show that with all this i will be at 86% of their 1000w dark power 12(not pro). However, the dark power pro 1200 is way too much £ for me. The psu's im looking at are: Seasonic prime titanium 1000w(but i hear they trip 3090s) Antec signature titanium 1000w(also seasonic oem) Bequiet straight power 11 1000w(no idea about them, but 12 is out of stock everywhere for me) Corsair HX1200 (i cant find the i version and the psu list shows that hey have mobo incompatibility, but i used to have ax850 a while back when my 980ti popped) Now, I dont know if its better to go single rail or multirail. 1000w titanium or 1200w platinum ? Please help, i really dont want to get a psu and see that it cant handle infamous transient spikes on a 3090. Looking for something within £200-260 price range. Hence why 1200w dark pro 12 is out of the picture. Thank you!

Hello everyone, today my Seasonic Prime GX-850 nearly killed my PC by shutting itself down for whatever reason and it doesn't want to turn back on. I discovered that it didn't damaged anything else in the PC by borrowing a PSU, so I decided to do an upgrade and bought a be quiet! Straight Power 11 1000w Platinum. Since I noticed my current UPS (APC BX950UI) struggle to keep my Asus TUF RTX 3080 and new LG 27GL850 alive during gaming session (I get a continuos beep and the UPS flashing red), I decided to do an upgrade on the UPS, and by informing myself on the subject I found out that the Straight Power 11 has an Active PFC, and prefers pure sine wave from the UPS. Probably my old BX950UI doesn't have it, and probably is this what killed my GX-850. So, what's a good pure sine wave UPS to keep alive this config? MOBO: ASUS ROG Z490-H CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K @4.00GHz Cooler: NZXT Kraken x52 GPU: ASUS TUF NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8Gb PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 1000w Platinum HDD: WD Black 2 TB + WD Black 3 TB SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500 GB + Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1 TB Primary Monitor: LG 27GL850 27" 2k@144Hz Thank you everyone who takes the time to analize my problem!

I love Corsair but using the same model numbers for different... Models is getting annoying haha. Can anyone tell me if the modular cables for the new style (black and Gray label) HX1000's, will fit the older style Blue label HX1000. I've got one of the older models and yes yes I know it's and older PSU don't worry it's going into a build not worth very much and isnt realistically gonna be run that often plus it's gonna be fully inspected before install so don't stress, I just need to know the deal with the modular cables. Cheers guys

Can’t decide between two 1000W PSU's for RTX 3080 and i7-12700k (want to upgrade to RTX 4080-90 and i9-****K later): - Super Flower Leadex SE Platinum, 1000W ATX Platinum SF-1000F14MP; - Chieftec CHIEFTRONIC PowerPlay 1050W Platinum GPU-1050FC. (There is no Seasonic in my country) Both are tier A according to psucultists tier list and sold for approximately the same price in my country. So I need a high quality PSU which can filter out RTX3xxx and RTX4xxx transient spikes without shutdown issues. Which one should I choose? P.S. I don’t think I really care about PSU fan’s sound but it shouldn't be annoying. I've found some reviews where users state that Super Flower one can make annoying noise, but haven't found any info about Chieftec's fan.

Hi, I have a PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk II 950 watt (1,000w continuous) Power Supply. It has an 80+ Silver Efficiency Rating. I was wondering if it would be OK ago use it with a 5820k, 3x GTX 980s, a single radiator CPU AIO, 1 SSD, 1HD, 1 Slim BD Drive? Even if it can handle it, is its efficiency good? Or should I buy a newer semi-modular power supply? Thank You!

Hi guys! Basically another topic of me having weird issues with my new PC. This time it's the power supply. The PSU in question is be quiet! dark power pro p8 1000W that served me really well in my previous build (3930K one) and so I decided to move it to my new build. The issue is really simple: fan keeps spinning at a really high rpm (my guess is max rpm) making it really loud and not worthy the be quiet! name Even at idle the fans spins like crazy and I checked the air coming out of it and it was as cold as my feelings are to my new computer right now so the PSU is definitely not overheating or anything. Any suggestions are welcome

Hey guys. I have in my PC right now a 500W evga unit, and Im looking to upgrade. Im going all out on the PSU; because I don't want to go through the hassle of upgrading it again as my components need power. Im running a ryzen 1700 and a gtx 1060, looking to go to a top end card soon. Maybe more than one card, ( one for gaming the other for rendering blender or mining IDK ) I already regret buying a b150 over an x370, I wish I had bit the bullet and went for the x370 and would have been able to expand more, but what's done is done. I have my eyes on this guy here: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182343&ignorebbr=1 Problem is, I cant seem to find any reviews on it. No info of the such, and all the PSU guides are outdated so I can't tell what units are good or not. Not looking for a fancy or data center class PSU, just one that could run my 1700 and maybe a 1080ti or two in SLI. I don't use full power all the time either, so that shouldn't be an issue. What do you guys think? I just want to buy it and hold onto it for as long as itll last. Probably use it till the warranty is up then put it in another PC i don't care about. This is the only review I could find of the PSU family, and it seems like its satisfactory. Again, I'm not looking for anything world class, just a psu that can sit and chug along. https://www.eteknix.com/rosewill-glacier-600w-gaming-power-supply-review/

My build as follows MSI Z370A Pro Mobo Intel i7 8700K Corsair H45 Corsair 8GB Ram Corsair TX750M Seagate 1TB GTX 1070Ti Case - NZXT Phantom 530 I have this gaming rig built and I have a lot of fluctuations and power cuts in my area. I have a low end numeric ups which is good in case of light load like browsing/watching movie etc. But when it comes to gaming, the UPS fails to kick on the battery power and just totally shuts down my PC with no power. I am looking for a budget gaming UPS in India and I found APC ups but I don't know anything about it. I read the reviews but if anybody is using a better UPS for gaming please mention here. Besides also tell me about the APC 600W UPS wheather it could back up my PC while I am gaming when there is a power outage

I was planning on using a HP HSTNS-PR01 1000W server Power supply + a mining breakout board to power a Pico PSU for an itx system I'm building but I noticed the Pico PSU wasn't starting up (it lights up the LED on the motherboard but no fan spin or anything on the screen), I thought the Pico PSU was dead so I tried powering it via a DA-2 (Dell USFF PSU) and it works fine. I then tested voltages to be sure and for some reason my server psu is outputting 14V on the 12V output... everything else (GPU, Docks, Screen, etc.) works fine with 14V except the Pico PSU. I tried the potentiometers on the PSU the adjust the output voltage but it can only be adjusted between 14V and 13.75V.... I figured I would just buy another HP Common Slot PSU and hopefully it outputs the correct voltage. Anyone have any idea what could cause this? I know people modify these PSUs to output 14V for battery chargers and such but mine was never opened (until I opened it, the stickers were still intact) and it was bought as a previous mining PSU (it came with a breakout board).

1000w Seasonic focus 1000w 80+ gold? Kolink Observatory rgb
SavageNeo posted a topic in Power Supplies
Hey i Will buy kolink Observatory rgb computer case and 1000w gold power supply. Other spec: amd ryzen 2700x,1080ti,32gb 3200mh rgb ram, asus ROG CROSSHAIR HERO WiFi motherboard. Will the power supply be good enough. -
Hey there! I got carried away this Christmas and built a new pc, the only things I kept from the previous rig are PSU and GPU. Now I'm wondering if my psu is powerful enough. First let me go through my specs so you know what I'm dealing with. I'm running a i9 9900k (no overclocking yet), 64gb of ddr4 ram (4x16), a 1080ti, AIO cooling (kraken x72), 3HDDs, 2SSDS, and 2 m2 SSDs. With that, a whole bunch of rgb everywhere (don't know how drastic that can be on power draw) and 6 fans. All that, on an old Corsair Cs750 gold. Knowing that I'm about to swap the 1080ti for a 2080ti, is my old 750w psu enough, or should I go for a brand new 1000W to avoid any shortage. Thanks in advance, sorry for the long read.

As the title says which is the better psu I'll be testing GPUs and need a reliable psu that can handle duel GPUs and heavy overclocks the most I'll be running is 2 Vega 56 just for tests and rendering .

Hello, everyone. I want to ask one question.Which PSU should I use for my future gaming build? An 1000Watts PSU or an 750Watts?I do plan to have an SLI configuration in the far future. My build will consist of an i7 8700k,16 GB DDR4 TridentZ(non RGB) >:) ) and a GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070 Ti(depends on Amazon's supplies).

Hi guys, I just wanted to know any advice on what kind of UPS do I need, or am I better of using an AVR? Calculated my specs into various online PSU wattage calculators, and it amounted to have a maximum load of: 656W I do 3D GPU rendering so the videocards will almost always be on 90-98% usage. (No overclock) I'm thinking of getting an APC Back UPS 1400va/700w. Will this be enough? Or an AVR will do? I'm not expecting a long backup time, just a little proper time to shut-down (UPS) or a stable flow of electricity (AVR), because currently I'm directly connected to my wall socket. My system specs: i7-6700k @4.4ghz (Hyper 212x air cooler) 16gb DDR4 RAM Asus Z170-A GTX 1080 FE (Stock speed) GTX 1080ti Aorus Xtreme Edition (Stock speed) 1x SSD 3x HDD 4 120mm fans 1 200m fan 1000W Seasonic Prime 80+ Gold Thank you for your help guys!

I was thinking of upgrading to a 5930k and overclocking it. I have a D5 pump for my custom water cooling and two zotac amp extreme 980ti in sli. I plan on over clocking everything due to the water setup. What I could find out was the 5930k can draw 350 and each gpu can draw almost 323 not to mention the pump itself and everything else. I am assuming I should upgrade if I make the switch from my 6700k? I currently have an EVGA G1 1000w PSU (gold rated)

Hello community! I'm planning to upgrade my current desktop rig in steps - PSU, CPU cooler, GPU, case and extra fans plus maybe some RAM sticks... Current rig specs below (in italic soon to be upgraded/exchanged parts): Monitor: Trying to find best issue-less 34" ultra-wide - more info below CPU: i7 4770K @4.00GHz + stock cooler RAM: Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) 1600MHz HyperX Black CL10 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 4GB WindForce 3X MOBO: Asus Z87-DELUXE Intel Z87 LGA1150 SSD: Samsung 850 PRO 256GB HDD1: WD Black 6TB WD6001FZWX HDD2: WD Black 4TB WD4003FZEX HDD3: WD Black 4TB WD4003FZEX HDD4: WD Black 2TB WD2002FAEX -> to be replaced due to Raw Read Errors (probably another WD6001FZWX) HDD5: WD Black 1TB WD1003FZEX -> after getting new replacement for FAEX, this one will be packed and replaced by Samsung 850 Evo 1TB PSU: Thermaltake Toughtpower 750W OS: W7 64bit PRO ODD: LG BD-RE LG BH08LS20 Case: Chaser MK-I VN300M1W2N /Monitor/ The monitor will be 3440x1440 - still unspecified model and manufacturer due numerous issues with X34s and P348Q - had two X34s (returned due BLB, visible vertical tearing despite G-SYNC, overheating causing unit shut-down and LED under-bar flashing) and one P348Q (to be returned due BLB, ROG logo turning off itself without a reason and those built-in speaker really sucks - so quiet that can't watch youtube while eating) - will try over and over again till I'll find near perfect one for this buck, but I'm pretty sure to stick to Ultrawide. /PSU/ Firstly I'd like to switch that pretty antique (~7 year old) PSU for something better with more wattage. Final config (for now just one 1080) would consist of 2x GTX1080s or yet unreleased 1080Ti in SLI so some more power is needed. So far I have no plans for switching CPU&MOBO at least till Skylake-X/Kaby Lake-X will be released (with native hardware x265). Storage will finally consist of two SSDs (256GB 850 PRO and 1TB 850 Evo from GS60) plus four HDDs - 2x6TB and 2x4TB in black flavor. Honestly I'm pretty puzzled which one should I choose - something with about 1000-1200W, Gold or Platinum efficiency (Titanium is way over my budget) and a price tag of roughly 250-300USD - I know that taking that PSU for single or even two 1080 is a bit overkill but I'd like have nearly silent build with PSU fan spinning only during load. Ah and long warranty is welcome (like with EVGA ones). And probably there might be some availability problems in my home country (PL) so presenting few models to choose from is welcome. /CPU cooler/ Don't kill me for still using Intel stock cooler - didn't have money to spare on it as my main gaming rig was GS60-2QE (970M) and it was used rather as storage machine and incredibly rarely as gaming tool. But as that laptop is getting more and more rusty after ~18 months I'm preparing to ditch it for desktop and getting it replaced or cashing it back (numerous flaws under warranty like dying screen with whitespot/overheating/fan failing/issues with power section causing screen flashing etc.). So its time to fix cooling issue. Did some research about CPU cooling and after some brainstorming, measuring and wallet checking crossed out AiO LCS as a bit too pricey for me (taking into account other mods), so only air based ones are left - do you think that Dark Rock PRO 3 would be the best choice in terms of lowest noise levels? And no more than 90-100 USD price-tag. And of course no puke-shit colored Noctua's - something black or with metallic accents. /GPU/ As far for GPU I'm not eager to spend ~700 USD for it but I'd prefer one but powerful one (DX11 wise) than getting SLI or CrossFire at start (taking into account power-draw and emitted heat into room) so I'll probably stick to cheapest non-referent 1080 with as little as possible color accents (eg. no red MSI's but maybe ZOTAC's) and longest warranty. /CASE/ About a case, current one is becoming more and more overcrowded (eg. SATA drives) and thought about ditching it for something more roomy - by a chance I managed to see one from Thermaltake - Core x9 - got amazed by three things vertical MOBO placement, great access to component from any side and stack-ability. But after some time I'm getting doubts - fans from current case (200mm ones) are a bit noisy so I don't think that x9's ones would be less audible... Other option is soon to be released DG-87 - great looking and future-proof for my distant LC plans... What do you think about that in ~250 USD range? /other stuff/ As for extra fans and RAM, it all depends how much will be left in my pocket after all these mods and which case I would choose - DG-87 in stock have nearly all fans already installed - only 2 140mm can be installed later. For RAM I would either add two more 1600 8GB sticks or swap old ones for higher clocked 4x8GB DDR3s but it is way to soon to anticipate course of action (why I need so much RAM? Like running few VM simultaneously). /sidenote aka server-NAS plan/ Got an idea how to reuse my old X58 build or rather MOBO itself and some other scrap parts - as second-hand E5620 is extremely cheap (~$12) combining it with leftovers from this system (GTX770, PSU, case) and old Intel 520 120GB SSD might be a good start. All I need is some cheapo cooler and ECC RAM, some NAS-friendly drives and 10Gbit card... But it's for a different time...

Hello, I have been gathering information to build a gaming and creative work PC, and i came up with this build so far: CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.20 GHz) http://ark.intel.com/products/88195/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz MotherB: MSI Z170a tomahawk AC, DDR4 http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z170A-TOMAHAWK-AC.html#hero-specification GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GD5T OC Armor 2x https://www.msi.com/product/graphics-card/GTX-980-Ti-6GD5T-OC.html#hero-specification CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H60 (120mm fan)x1 http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-h60-cpu-cooler RAM: Kingston Desktop DDR4 8gb KVR21N15D8/8 (x2) http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR21N15D8_8.pdf Case: Master Cooler Pro 5 (3x fans 120mm) Storage: Transcend SSD 2.5 256GB & 2TB HDD DVD: DVDwrite 24x Sata Now after calculating my PC's Consumption online http://outervision.com/b/PJjx3L getting a 750W PSU is not a bad idea, although i know that with an 850W it allows me to have an upgrade path towards and SLI .. BUT, i live in a country where we experience power-cuts everyday therefore having a UPS is a must. A 1200Va UPS is affordable at around 150$ and a 1400Va+ UPS is much more expensive. Therefore my choice for the 750W is justified. (not 600W, which will be caused to run at maximum capacity). But my supplier's "Engineer" recommended the 1000W PSU saying that this GPU requires 600W minimum (written on the back of the box) also here https://www.msi.com/product/graphics-card/GTX-980-Ti-6GD5T-OC.html#hero-specification. Under the recommended PSU (W) So my question is "Does this GPU run at 250W? or is there anything i dont know about Wattage calculations? while at it which PSU do you recommend and why" Thank you in advance!

So if you look up the G2 series by EVGA it says on most webpages that, yes, it does indeed have eco-mode. On Newegg there are literally graphs that show eco-mode: Its even marked 1000 G2, so its not for the 850W or P2 series. The title of the NCIX page for this PSU? "EVGA SUPERNOVA 1000 G2 80 PLUS GOLD CERTIFIED 1000W FULLY MODULAR POWER SUPPLY W/ ECO MODE" But when we go to the EVGA product page, whats that? Oh, no eco-mode. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=120-G2-1000-XR Unfortunately I didn't do my full homework before I bought this PSU, blindly trusting the 3 product pages that said it did have eco-mode, which is one of the main reasons I bought this PSU to begin with. Maybe the EVGA rep will see this, I already emailed EVGA customer support to let them know that they are false advertising, but the community should know as well. If you google EVGA 1000 g2 and eco mode you don't find anything that talks about this, I guess no one has noticed yet. I'll be voiding my warranty soon by opening this unit up and changing out the fan to one of my own choice.

So I am trying to decide on which brand of power supply to go with for my next build. I will be running similar specs to my current build except that I will be replacing the GPUs with 2 980 Ti's in SLI, and I will running a full custom loop to cool them. I recently did a power supply calculator and found that my system power draw will be somewhere around 825W. So I have decided to pick from a Corsair HX1000i, an RM1000i, or an EVGA 1000GQ. If y'all have any preferences on which one I should get, please let me know why. Thanks.
