Hello LTT community. It's been a long time since I was present. I'm now calling for some help. I've been experiencing some random crashes on Skull Abyss Phase One; primarily when I'm not actively gaming. When I come back into my computer room; I come into the Windows 10 login screen. I know for a fact I haven't restarted my system at all. Down below are Skull Abyss Phase One's system specifications, I have also uploaded a copy of the most recent dump file I was able to get a hold of. I would definitely like to get this issue resolved. Graphics card driver in use right now is Adrenalin 23.7.2 072923-9671-01.dmp

Sorry for long post, but i try to be specific enought, i had a system with the specs: CPU: i7-4790k MB: Asus Z97-A GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC RAM: 16 GB kingston DDR3 PSU: 660W Seasonic 80+platinum STORAGE (all ssd): 128 GB Kingston SATA 250 GB Samsung 850 PRO SATA (Windows) 250GB Samsung 950 pro NVME 1TB Crucial MX300 This system worked perfectly for years, but last sunday it went into recovery mode when i started the system. I was not able to get into windows no matter what i tried. My CPU was due for upgrade, so i thought that **** it, and built a new system with the following specs: CPU: i7-12700K MB: Asus Z690-P D4 GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 SC (from old system) RAM: 32 GB Corsair DDR4 PSU: 660W Seasonic 80+platinum (from old system) STORAGE: two 1 TB samsung 980 PRO NVME I was trying to install Windows 11 to the new system, with the following setup: All peripherals (keyboard, mouse, audio interface and usb-headphones) and screens connected. My screens are Dell U2715H (primary) and Dell P2219H (secondary). The displays are connected with display port cables, and daisy chained such that the primary display is first in the chain. During the installation, the screen went suddenly black and the system restarted into recovery mode. this happended around the time when the install asks for windows user, keyboard things and such. I tried 3 times, always with the same result. Then i tried to install Windows 10, same thing. Then i tried to install Windows 10 with minimal setup, so i disconnected the other SSD and the GPU, and used the integraded graphics of the CPU. I also only had the keyboad and mouse connected to USB ports. This time the installation was succesfull, so i thought okay, lets try same with Windows 11, and it worked. Then attached the SSD and GPU, everythign worked fine, until i installed the latest nvidia drivers. After installing the drivers, it only took a while until the screen went black, and into recovery mode. I rebooted the system, and was able to log into windows normally, but in under one minute, the screen went black again, and into recovery. It tried this like 5 times with the same results. I ran the windows ram memcheck, there were no errors. I was able to get back into windows by disconencting the GPU, and using the integradted graphics again. I removed the nvidia drivers, connected the GPU back, and then installed older drivers (497.09), after this the system ran fine, and i played games for like 5 hours with no issues. I also ran prime95 for 10 minutes, so i don't think its a power issue. Then today when i turned the system on, it went straight into recovery mode, this was very frustrating. What i noticed was that the secondary display was off, i turned it on, rebooted, and then windows started normally. This behaviour never happended with the old system. This whole thing seems unstable and unpredictable, any suggestions or comments regarding this? In hindsight, i should have tried the old system with the integrated graphics, but the PSU is already in the new system, so...

https://imgur.com/1AkmuIL Could someone help me understand what this bluescreen is? Ive already done microsoft memory tester, everything there checks out. This is a fresh install, also ran sfc /scannow - it found some corrupted files and repaired them. From my understanding this is a nvidia bluescreen? Im running a rtx 3060ti with latest studio drivers, wich is also freshly installed.

No matter what i try, i cant seem to remove my JBL Xtreme Audio from bluetooth devices, i have been able to remove my phone, my bose qc35 ||. Basically i cant get rid of my jbl xtreme from my bluetooth devices on my dell latitude e7440 (ive replaced the intel ac 7260 bluetooth with a DW1550 from broadcom. The bluetooth works, but i cant get my jbl xtreme speaker working, so i would like to completely remove it from the system, and then try to repair it. I have tried removing it from windows settings, device manager, controle panel. But where ever i try to do it i get remove failed. I tried googling the issue, no good. Im a bit lost for what i can do here. I finally was able to connect to my JBL Xtreme - I first connected to it with my phone, then i got a pop up messege from windows asking if i also wanted to connect to the speaker, and suddenly all working....

Hi everyone, Today I tried to launch Valorant to play some games with friends after a long time and I got the error code VAN9001 which wants me to enable TPM 2.0 and secure boot. I already had TPM 2.0 enabled so I went to BIOS to enable secure boot. To do that I had to change boot mode to UEFI from Legacy + UEFI. I did that and secure boot option asked me to disable CSM. I checked my boot driver's compatibility and then I disabled CSM and restarted. Now it says that GOP driver is not available for my GPU. I think my GPU doesnt support UEFI. But I can't go back to Windows 10 without losing data. Is there anything I can do to fix this? / i don't know much about these kinds of stuff, i tried to explain it the best i could. hopefully it all makes sense.. What is this? I did click on "don't do anything and stop bothering me" (or some such) because it *additionally* kept making warning sounds in the background lol... Just curious, is this somehow avoidable? And why does it even happen... it makes no sense... I'm using Nvidia DSR and it's *never* done this when I play at 1440p (down sampled obviously) but 4k is suddenly not ok and "blurry"?? Anyways everything seems to be okay now, except the icons in the task bar on the right side (where Afterburner, NVCP etc is) is very weird now, like it has the wrong spacing... I checked everything is still set to 1080p (my monitor's resolution) but these icons seem to be displaying like they probably would on a 4K screen, so question is will this go away when I restart (can't right now, uploading video) or can I change it back manually (probably not)? Also, I'm really curious, why does this even happen? it's of no concern to Windows how I set my GPU's DSR settings lol (and as said it never complained about 1440p)

I have Windows 10 installed on an old Gateway Core 2 Duo machine. I'd like to have the option at boot to be able to boot into 10, 95, Linux, or maybe others. Could someone help me through this? Thank you

Hello, I'm new to this forum so I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section. A while ago I installed Linux Ubuntu on dual boot with my windows 10. Everything worked fine, but yesterday I think I created a new partition or renamed one and today when I turned on my computer I got this error: now I'm not a complete tech noob, I tried getting some help online and it didn't work. Here's what I tried: -checking discs with ls command and then trying to set a new one with set boot and set prefix commands -I made a windows 10 bootable USB drive and booted the automatic repair -I tried running a command in CMD, forgot the exact name, it was supposed to repair the booting sequence I'll try to respond to every comment asap as I need my PC to work for tomorrow.

Long story short: I am on windows 10 and my update assistant is stuck on a loop. I cannot update my OS. Do not try to help me, you will waste your time. I have spent hours trying every solution known to mankind and none of them work. If you think you have a solution, I have tried it. With that out of the way, my only option is to reinstall windows 10 or 11. I want to upgrade to 11, so I will do that. However, because my windows update service doesn't work, I cannot install it the easy way. That leaves me two options: -install it manually by downloading the actual installation file and running it. however, the way to do this is to download the right version from this big, big list of options. I have no idea which one I should choose. I dont have a link to it but I will check my history to find it later. -install it via media drive. media drive is probably my best bet. one issue: it would delete all of my data and programs. I am aware there is a "keep personal files" option, but I feel like in the past I have done this option and it erased all of my data. If the erasing my data thing is just a rare occurrence, does "keeping my files" refer to both the programs and files, or just the literal files? thanks guys for reading. please help.

Stuck in a boot loop. A few minutes after i login even rho theres no issue the windows will keep on restarting. All i did was try to install the nvidia driver.... my computer can only boot cinsistantly into the recovery menu. It blue scrreened and restarted while i installed the driver. Theres no way to boot into desktop and even if i could its not like ubuntu where i could do "sudo apt remove *nvidia* && purge nvidia. I use linux. I only swapped to this os to try to use the drivers for my p102-100. Not to have a broken pc.

Basically it just won't boot and plays an endless soft beep. I've googled around and probably the culprit is that windows 10 planted some files on my other drives besides the main one for the OS. (Yes, I installed windows with my other drives plugged in). I want to use my ssd on my oldest computer. Kinda got bored in quarantine, so why not revive my oldest pc. Is reinstalling windows with other drives unplugged the only easy solution? Or is there another easy way to fix this. Thanks!

Hi, Can you tweak some setting so that Windows 10 starts showing false specs. For example, Windows shows 4 GB RAM installed, can I change some registry file so it shows something else? Thanks.

windows10 Does my desktop have laptop settings? and does it mater
CastleHeart posted a topic in Windows
Ill try to explain as best i can. i built a pc about a couple of months back. (first pc build in years yay). Its actually been a couple of years since i had my own computer after my last laptop died(motherboard issue) so i dont remember if this is a thing that desktop is suppose to show in settings when i go to setting there i a "Power& sleep" option going to that tab gives me the option "when plugged in,turn off after" also scrolling down shows "save energy and Battery life" so it got me a little confused because to me that looks like laptop stuff and well its desktop that i put together. im starting to wonder if i installed windows 10 wrong but not sure. so i dont know if this will affect any kind of proficiency or if it will cause other issues later on -
I have found MANY threads with all slightly different problems. I apologize if there is another thread that would've helped me with my problem. I already posted this on Tom's Hardware forum with no luck. I just built a PC. I also bought a copy of Windows 10. I bought this FROM microsoft, I didn't create my own media on a flashdrive. I had issues creating my own media, and the computer wasn't able to recognize the flash drive as a boot option. Now that I bought the flashdrive with Windows 10 on it my computer/BIOS actually recognizes it. I start up my PC and it already opens me to the "Windows Boot Manager" screen. Select my language and continue Put in my product key Agree to terms and conditions Then I get to a screen that says "Which type of installation do you want?" I have two options here. "Upgrade" or "Custom" Upgrade doesn't work and will kick me out. I'm assuming I have to go with custom here. 6. Now I have to select where to install windows Driver 0 - SSD Driver 1 - M.2 NVMe Driver 2 - M.2 NVMe I selected "Driver 1" on one attempt. It ended up not working and telling me "Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070241" The problem with it failing is that my poor M.2 NVME is now broken up. When I get back to this screen it gives me a lot more options. All of the sudden my Driver 1 has 4 options. Drive 1 Partition 1: Recovery | 529.0 MB | Recovery Drive 1 Partition 2 | 99.0 MB | System Drive 1 Partition 3 | 16.0 MB | MSR (Reserved) Drive 1 Partition 4 | 930.9 GB | Primary At one point I also selected my SSD which has now also broken up. Drive 0 Partition 1 | 16 MB | MSR (Reserved) Drive 0 Partition 2 | 894.2 GB | Primary This screen allows me to delete files. Should I delete any of these partitions? How do I properly boot from the Windows media?! Bios settings? Hey guys! So... I really don't like W10. It's just "invasive", and it has A LOT of useless tasks and other things that just make it's performance worse. I never removed any of these things, but i want to. What kind of things i should remove, that would improve performance and at the same time don't mess a lot with my system?

So Linus did that showcase of the windows embedded version customised to be actually awesome. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise is the equivalent of previous embedded versions. Is it possible to do something with this where is optimised as a workstation / gaming machine but without all the bloat, advertising and just general Microsoft insanity? I know i could just spin up a VM out to to run as a DC and perhaps an SCCM controller to handle it all myself, but the maintenance required compared to using OTA updates makes this an undesirable option. Anyone got any thoughts for this?

This is my windows start menu when I hit the windows button and immediately after I type something. Hitting windows button -> typing what I want has become my usual navigation method in Windows 10 and not being able to is driving me mad. Anyone ever had this happen or know how to fix that's not format - > reinstall?

So I recently switched from a single SSD to of them 4 in a raid 10 array. I was able to use a feature called RAPID in the Samsung magician software. Inside the software, it says that the array is an unrecognized drive. Is there a way to get the software to recognize it? FYI I am using 4 samsung 840 evos with the onboard raid controller on my motherboard.

So recently, when I open games on steam, instead of going fullscreen, they play in a windowed mode. This is happening with Hitman, Dirt Showdown, and now Infnite Warfare, but none of the older games that I play. I have made sure that the fullscreen option is on, but it doesn't work

Hey hope your all having a great day! So I'm building my first PC and my final step is trying to find a windows product key but I really don't want to pay the full 120$ for home. Windows 8.1 or 10 are the only ones that I want. Can anyone tell me a website where I can buy a product key for a good price from a reputable seller?

OK so I've been having this issue for a while now. I want to throw my laptop out of my bedroom window. :-/ Alright so I go and install the AMD beta drivers for my AMD A10-8700p apu. Windows then thinks i'm on an older driver and installs the 16.12 driver. OK whatever, not that big of a deal. However what is pissing me off is that a couple of days later after reverting back to 16.12. It goes and installs a driver from 2015. Every time I go install the new driver, a day later it reverts back to the 2015 driver because it for some odd reason thinks that the driver from 2015 is "newer" than 16.12, which is from 2016. I went and disabled driver updates and it's STILL doing this. Windows keeps doing this entirely on it's own for some add reason or another. If I can't fix it i'm setting this laptop on fire in my backyard. :-/
