I am looking for the best performance Chromebook for $500USD. I am willing to lose some performance for features if required. It will be used for college work. Thank you in advance!

Budget (including currency): $400-$500 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Filmora video editor, photoshop, lightroom. Other details (Have case NZXT H510, old BFG PSU (550W NOT INSTALLED),): Hi everyone I am new here, I'm 17 and looking to upgrade my 2015 Asus M32CD desktop, specs are: intel core i5-6400 @2.70GHz, 12GB ram, 2GB AMD FirePro GPU, and 1TB hybrid HDD(boot drive) plus more HDDs and an old samsung SSD (128GB). Video editing is slow and choppy even at 1080p and if pushed too hard crashes, In photoshop selecting and masking even small areas takes 20-60 seconds and even longer sometimes, and in lightroom selecting and applying presets can take 1-2 minutes. This is not ideal and I wish for a faster option that can also handle some 4K; not any RAW video just basic 4k from phones and my canon M50. While having these programs open task manager showed CPU 86-100% Ram usage 80-100%, and power consumption was High-very High. I presume that for video editing I need a better CPU and for PS and LR I need more RAM? If y'all don't mind could you help me find the right CPU, RAM, and possibly PSU? My budget is $400-$500USD. I have a NZXT H510 case laying around, a new coolermaster cooler (don't know model number), BFG BFGR550WGXPSU, and all my existing HDDs and SSDs. I suppose I might also need a new motherboard for new CPU. I run Windows 10, and have two 1080p displays with a third when I need it ( in the future I wish to ad a 4K display). I thinks that's all the info. Again I use this for Photoshop, lightroom, and video editing along with simple tasks like documents, YouTube, etc. I originally wanted a laptop but found the price to performance ratio too high (the Dell XPS 15 lives only in my dreams). This is not a gaming PC the only thing I play on it is the 2005 Star Wars Battlefront. I will be using this for work as a Head Media Director at my local summer camp as well as personal photo/video projects. P.S. I also use an old alpha networking adapter for wifi and wish to upgrade in the future. Thanks you

I have a Lenovo ideapad FLEX 6-14|KB laptop which runs a i3 with an APU, I'm pretty confident i can sell it for $500 seeing that it's over $700 used on other sites. After selling it, I want to purchase a laptop with any sort of Dedicated Graphics Card inside. I came here to know what I should be looking for particularly, either a used one to buy or a completely new one. I have a spare set of 16GB DDR4 2666MHz PC4-21300 memory sticks, so I was in between finding something cheaper with less memory or selling the sticks and adding to the laptop fund. - All I really want out of it in the end is to run OBS and a few Twitch tabs while it not being too worked up. This exact configuration ate up most of my memory last time. Much appreciated for all the help (if any)

Sorry for simplified English. And sorry for no photo. First of all. In 2019-2020 I build almost copy of LTT elCheapo. It was a full functional PC on $300 budget. In next 6-8 month i spent extra $520 on pc. the "before" pc DEC 2019 - JAN 2020: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H ~$55 CPU/APU: AMD Athlon 200GE BOX ~$50 Video card: Vega3 ~free (built in APU) RAM: 2x DDR4, 4 Gb Crucial 2400MHz ~$50 M2 SSD: WD green 120 Gb ~$24 No name PC case ~$15 PSU Aerocool VX plus*** ~ $15 Lenovo USB mouse and keyboard combo ~$15 display ACER V246HQL ~$95 First stage of upgrade: MAY 2020 display. DELL SE2416H 23.6" ~ $130. Old Acer V246HQL was terrible display for multimedia, bad colors (green shadows), low response time. Display is just bad. Dell is still budget display, but at least has honest 60 hz and IPS. Intermediate stage: ~$0 HDD 0,6Tb scraped from old laptop, Microsoft USB mouse and keyboard combo ~$20 Second stage: JUN 2020 Videocard. Now to the deal. MSI GTX 1650 ventus xs 4G OC ~ $200. After this upgrade I oppened a whole new world of modern gaming. Now PC can run some modern titeles even RDR2(my prformance test), and yes this is with AMD Athlon 200GE. Some mixed settings. I expect what some of you can say: "AMD RX 570-580 costs less and outperforms GTX 1650". But for me 1650 works great! Full hd gaming, 60fps, AAA gaming titles. Almost al of tis only after thrid upgrade. The CPU. Thrid stage: JUL 2020. CPU. Ryzen 5 1600 (AF) ~$120 So, the magic, it's a very best value to performance CPU. And yes it's not old regular Ryzen 5 1600, it is new 12nm Ryzen 2600 slightly downclocked to 3.4 GHz. (Cinebench R20 is 2415 pts. almost equal to i7 7700K, who has retail price at Q1'17~$330) Last stage: AUG 2020. Case, and 2x aerocool rgb fans ~$50 Still no name PC case, but with acrylic glass panel and RGB fans. I'm not big rgb fan, but it looks nice. Fifine T669 usb microphone ~$50 for discord. Before gaming experience: CS:GO, Older games, GTA V lowest settings 25 fps. After gaming experience: GTA V high settings 60 fps, AAA gaming titles like The Outer world, RDR2 etc. Now I don’t think can my PC pull game. Just install it. Like in good old 98 win era. What are your thoughts or ideas for this upgrade? What shold i do next? Do i need b450 chipset AM4 motherboard? Or Next stage must be RAM: 2x DDR4, 8 Gb? P.S. I planned build mediacenter around AMD Athlon 200GE for 4K video and stuff. Thank you for reading, i hope this can be useful. Спасибо за прочтение, удачного дня!

Hello, I'm having trouble deciding what budget gaming laptop to get. I don't need anything high end but I want to have the capabilities to play Rust and a few other lighter games like minecraft and wolfQuest (my sisters are interested). My budget really only allows me to get upwards of $500-$700. I've already have found these with some light research of my own, but can't decide if I should jump in on either of these. Hey all, one of my friends has been a console gamer all his life and recently decided to try out PC gaming since all of his friends are playing on PC due to the virus. He reached out asking for help building his first PC with a budget of $500. He isn't very tech savvy, but I figure if he watches some YouTube videos and has come common sense (and maybe a friend there to help him out) he should be fine. I've never build a PC in the $500 range before, and he asked if it could include the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I haven't kept up as much with new low end hardware so I'm not sure exactly what is considered the best bang for buck. As far as I know, he plans on using it for school and gaming, no editing for streaming. Not sure what games he plays, but I'd imagine he'd like to be able to play anything he can play on Xbox on PC. Here is what I threw together, although it doesn't include any peripherals. Specifically about the CPU as I haven't heard a whole lot about budget CPUs recently.

I was set a limit of $500 but I'm still new to building PC's - let me know how I did. I'm still not sure about relying on integrated graphics, but it cuts down costs by alot. He wants to play MMO's like DDO and SWTOR smoothly, and he wants to play Mortal Kombat X smoothly. He'd also like to play the Resident Evil 7 remake around medium - NOTE: He won't be streaming those, he only wants to stream his DND sessions on Roll20. basically i want to know what people would upgrade in my system for a ~$500 budget(not changeing harddrives), iv thought about Ryzen but its just not for me. i do quite heavy multi tasking with 50-150 chrome tabs open, two instances of discord, steam, spotify and NZXT CAM open at all times(this is not changeing, dont sugest i change it.) and playing games rangeing from Paladins to Black Dessert Online. this is mostly just becuase i want to get ideas, im probably instead going to save up untill after the summer and get a full do over of my PC with water cooling and stuff and makeing it all proper and shit idk. current specs: CPU: I5 4690K @ 4.7GHz 1.335V GPU: Gigabyte G1 970 with an Accelero TwinTrubo III Motherboard: ASRock Anneversairy Z97 RAM: 2x8GB HyperX Red 1866MHz DDR3 CPU Cooler: NH-D14 with Fractal fans Storage: 1x UV400 240GB, 2x140GB HDDs in RAID0, 1x Toshiba 1TB HDD PSU: EVGA SuperNova 650 G2 so, what would you upgrade if you had $500 to spend on this? thanks for any replies

I'm helping a couple of friends in the US get laptops for school/college. They're on a pretty tight budget, and I'm looking for recommendations for $400ish laptops that have all of the following. 2-in-1s are okay. Runs Windows Good Build Quality Decent battery life An IPS screen An SSD- 128GB or greater A decent keyboard and trackpad Processing power is not an issue, as they will only be used for word processing, web browsing, and other lightweight everyday tasks. New and Manufacturer Refurbished recommendations only! No used stuff, no eBay links, no 'you can find it on Craigslist $___'. The closest I've found is a manufacturer refurbished Dell XPS 13 9360 for $609 plus tax. I know the Asus ZenBook UX330 is just $700 brand new. Do they sell them refurbished? I look forward to reading your recommendations. Regards, Aereldor.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ My friend is selling his crappy laptop and building a PC. His budget is no more than $500. This is what I have for him, and he's going to buy a used 2x4 kit of DDR4 from a friend for $50 because ram is expensive as heck. Any tips for the build? He is planning on playing games like Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefield 1, Fallout 4, and Black Ops 3 at 1080p 60fps High settings. Only thing I'm not super sure about is the mobo, as I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to new AMD boards, as I built my PC before Ryzen came out. Thanks in advance

As the title suggests which is better for the price a 6700hq, 16 gb ram, gtx 960m for $500 or a similarly specced PC but with a 1050 for $750. I will be using it for 1080p gaming and maybe really light games ( older games/ indie games ) at 4K or 1440p

*Please Read First* To start off I would like to say that these parts mainly refurbished or used. Im trying to see if I can improve my idea in any way to make a future video. I made this thread to ease the console peasants from bashing the pcmasterrace. We are still superior in every way and this one reason why. I would also like to note that linus and luke acomplished this in scrapyard wars season 5. Lastly I know you can't game on this system at ultra 4k but at least high settings since im sure the xbox one x probably runs at medium 4k. I have the link for the parts at the end of the thread. The total of this build is $495 Lets start off by showing what I have to offer for parts. Dell Optiplex 9010 MT - $170 CPU: Intel Core I5-3470 3.2ghz Mem: 8gb ddr3 HDD: 500gb OS: Windows 10 Just needs a better power supply to power the graphics card Easy enough I found a brand new and cheap power supply from Corsair for $15 after mail in rebate The graphics card I chose to run was a gtx 980ti Found the listing and many others for $310 All Links For Components Found Here Case $170 Graphics Card $310 Power Supply $15 Total $495 I would like to mention that the 980ti cannot max out every game at 4k. It can still deliver high frame rates at medium-high settings on AAA Titles. In conclusion if I were to buy these parts and assemble the new power supply and graphics card into the prebuild case with windows 10 installed. I could get ample performance to the xbox one x. If you don't like use or refurbished parts then consider buying this partlist from pcpartpicker PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Z8wkr7 Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Z8wkr7/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i5-7400 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($175.65 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI - H110M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($54.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Crucial - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($54.87 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($48.44 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Dual Series Video Card ($394.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Zalman - ZM-T1 PLUS MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($28.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: EVGA - 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($33.69 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $791.62 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Hi this is my first post here and I am wondering what I should do. I have about $500 (mabye $600 if I work another week) to build my gaming PC that I will also use for video editing. I already have a micro atx case and a GTX 1070. I want to have enough money left over to buy a comfortable chair that's about $85 and a Blu Yeti or Snowball $40-$85. I want an SSD and my friends selling me a 2TB HDD for $45. also 16 GB of ram would be useful because I play ARK. My dad gets free win 10 keys from his work too. I was thinking about getting an i5 2500 from eBay for about $60. would that bottleneck my 1070 a lot? I play Bf1, Battlefront, Ark, and CSGO. Thanks for any help! I live in the US, I plan to use a 900p monitor and a 1080p monitor. Im building this because my old pc's power supply fried my mobo and some other parts. I'm reusing what I can. Also I'll build it myself. Sam

So I made a part list for a friend who was looking to play only a few games on a $500 budget (including kb+m and monitor). He played a game once on my pc and immediately wanted to switch from his laggy Xbox. So, how's this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HQKpD8 Notes: -no ssd should be here for this price -yes, he needs all the peripherals, no matter how horrible they are
-
My friend was looking to join the pc master race, and wanted me to make him a $500 budget build. The budget included all of the peripherals he'll need, so the parts are really on a $400 budget. Can I have some thoughts/opinions of this list? Also, I know the peripherals suck, but I mean, that's what you have to sacrifice for performance.
