Hi all, Currently overseas with work, and wanting too purchase a prebuilt rig so when I return I can jump into the action. I have a budget of < $3000 AUD; and am abit unsure as too which prebuilt rig to purchase through PCCG. Scoped out Scorptec; however they seem more overpriced than PCCG, so PCCG ticked the box. Below are the builds I am looking at (I am assuming the most exp is the best pic; although feel this may not be the case so want recommendation, what would you choose?) https://www.pccasegear.com/products/39319/pccg-cobalt-1070-gaming-system https://www.pccasegear.com/products/39427/pccg-ryzen-elite-1080-gaming-system https://www.pccasegear.com/products/40054/pccg-hellcat-1080-gaming-system https://www.pccasegear.com/products/39956/pccg-battlebox-1080-gaming-system Is it even worth considering the 1070 build, or disregard that all together and stick to the 1080s? If you say the 1080s, then will the cheaper Ryzen 7 be still high end saving me $$? NOTE - I am intending to use this purely for gaming (no streaming, rendering, photosop etc), I also don't return until Nov (Should I await and see if prices drop / release of Intel 8th Gen?) Peripherals I have awaiting whichever build I purchase are: Corsair K65 LUX RGB Mechanical Keyboard Corsair M65 Pro Gaming Mouse Corsair MM800 RGB Polaris Gaming Mousepad Acer Predator 24" 144hz 1080p G-Sync monitor (Only going a single monitor set up) p.s As stated, I want to go prebuilt, so please no comments about building rigs / cost comparisons etc... Much appreciated! Morryjr

I want to build a new Deep Learning Build. The budget is strictly less than $3000 (US dollar). I want to put in 2 GTX 1080 ti for the rig if possible. I am not wanting to go for Titan Xp because it gives only 10-20% performance increase for Deep Learning/Machine Learning purposes, and 2 GTX 1080 ti would be better than single Titan Xp (Source). The build will be used as a server for carrying out Deep Learning/Machine Learning tasks. Also I am kind of new to Multi-GPUs builds and would need to know about SLI bridges and other stuff if I put in Multi-GPUs in the build.

So im building my first ever gaming computer (finally)! Always wanted to but never had the time or the money till now. I know i want a Ryzen build and my budget is around $3000. So far I've decided on the ROG Crosshair VII Hero WiFi and a GTX 1080 ti in a Phanteks Evolv ATX case. That's as far as I've gotten. What do you all think? What kinda Ryzen system would you build with $3000? Any advice would be awesome.

I'm working on what to get for a new workstation build. I primarily do game design with Unity and 3D modeling with Maya. I am doing game design with Unity for work so that is top priority. I also do video work, Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphics work, but rendering times and light baking times are the main thing I want to bring down. I play some games and want this computer to handle games maxed out, but that's not the priority. I will be using it with the HTC Vive. I plan to get a 4k monitor. Probably the ASUS PB287Q for now upgrading to the Asus PA328Q when I can. I'm pretty sure I want to go with Intel for the CPU not AMD and with Nvidia for the graphics card. Probably one 980 Ti for now and maybe upgrading to the 1080 if it comes out around June. I would like it to be somewhat portable so I can move it into my living room to use with the Vive, but have it set up in my room most of the time. I'd like to be able to two CPUs in it (maybe not right away, but having a motherboard with two slots so I can upgrade.), but I'm not sure if it will be worth it. I'll be upgrading from a Retina Macbook Pro. Which I do like a lot, but doesn't quite cut it for serious 3D work or rendering. Also it won't work with the HTC Vive which I will be using and developing for. I have a budget of $3000-$4000 ($US) Here is a list of parts I'm thinking about. (I might not get them from newegg, but I'm using links to there since they have a good amount of info about the parts.) Monitor: Asus PB287Q http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236399 Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487139 I'm not sure which CPU to go with. I'd like to get an 8 or 10 core CPU, but they mostly have clock speeds that are lower than I want unless I spend around $2000 on it. I don't want the clock speed to be too low since some programs don't use all the threads or only heavily use one or two. CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3 Haswell-EP 3.5GHz 6 core (I could get two of these) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117499 CPU: Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0 GHz (If I get an i7 I could only use one) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117404 CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5 GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117403 I'm also not sure about the motherboard. I would like to be able to use Thunderbolt I have a Retina Macbook Pro and it would be nice to be able to use Thunderbolt accessories with my desktop as well. Though it's not necessary. Right now I just use some Thunderbolt external drives which will probably stay mac formatted. Motherboard: ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS (would work with the two Xeons, but is not available right now) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132268 Motherboard: A few other options that are available for dual Xeons http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007629%20600553802 Motherboard: ASUS X99-E WS LGA 2011-v3 (I like this board if I go with one processor, but also not available right now) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132263 Motherboard: ASRock X99 WS-E LGA 2011-v3 (not Asus, but available) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157538 Motherboard: ASUS X99-M WS (might be an alternative, but has less on it since it's small. It is cheaper though.) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132584 Don't know if I need a sound card, but I could get this SoundCard: Creative Sound Blaster Z PCIe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102048 For storage I will want to get some SSDs I was also thinking of one of these for operating system and programs Storage: SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4P03H20193 Storage: Intel 750 Series AIC 400GB PCI-Express 3.0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167359 And I'd get some larger SSDs and maybe an HDD for storage. At least 2TB If I want Thunderbolt I'd get this Thunderbolt: ASUS ThunderboltEX II Expansion Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813995027 I'll be using air cooling not water. It's more reliable and I don't plan to do much if any overclocking. For the case I could just go with something like this (I would like the case to be somewhat portable like I said earlier) Case: DIYPC Zondda-O Black ATX Mid Tower http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811353061 or go for something nicer (I like that this has handles) Case: MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6ZP3K30968 Case: Thermaltake Core X31 RGB Edition Black ATX Gaming Mid Tower http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133300 Case: Corsair 600C Black ATX Full Tower http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139069 That is what I have figured out so far. I'd love to get feedback and suggestions about it. Thank You, Lucas

Hello my name is Matthew and i want to know if my parts are compatible and if someone has a suggestion to add/change my build for the better. Budget: Around $3000 "-->" means "I don't know" -->Power Supply: Corsair RM series 1000 Watt (Is this enough?) Hello! I am working on my first custom PC build and would love to hear some recommendation and thoughts on my part list. *-Note I will not be purchasing any parts until about April 2016-* What the PC will be doing: Programming in a wide range of languages and editors such as Eclipse for Java, PyCharm for Python, or Brackets for Web Development Gaming; playing games from small games like Game Dev Tycoon and Minecraft, to AAA games like Fallout 4, Skyrim, and Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 Photography/Filmography (low-end); I will be creating videos and presentations so capability to screen record, run Photoshop, and any common video editing programs. What the PC will NOT be doing: Editing 4k Ultra HD video 3D modeling Playing games in Ultra quality - I do not mind playing games in Medium to Low specs if necessary. Before getting to the build there are a few things I want to mention. First, the build started off with a $2500 US budget not including peripherals, so things like the double monitors, and surround sound system will most likely be purchased later as I do have some a TV screen I can use in the meantime. Secondly, I need help choosing between a dedicated sound card versus one of those digital-to-analog converter systems (DACs). I want to be able to do good audio recordings, but I do not need professional music recording capabilities. Furthermore, I want the capability to swap between headset-only audio (gaming or listening to music) to surround sound system audio (watching movies and such). Thirdly, what I am most concerned about is hardware compatibility. I am only 17 so my understanding of computer hardware is limited to only what I have read and watched. I took a lot of time putting this list together so most things are compatible, but I could have always made a mistake and missed something crucial. On that same note, I do not fully understand the power supply so I went with 750W, but I do not know if that will be enough for the whole rig. Please be constructive/supportive and don't hate me for picking one part over another haha! The Build:

1. Budget: $3000 2. Aim: 1440p 144Hz gaming max settings. Also VR (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive) 3. Monitors: Asus ROG Swift http://is.gd/kkr2NY Open to other suggestions. 4. Peripherals: Windows 10. Already have keyboard/mouse that I like. 5. Why are you upgrading? This is my first desktop. I've only owned laptops before. I'm upgrading from my 4 year old Asus G73SW gaming laptop. I'm excited for VR, and it's also been a dream of mine to build my own "battlestation" so here I am. After researching for the past few weeks, I've come up with this. Any suggestions and critiques are welcome! Thanks! Or I'll just put that towards whatever VR device gets released in 2016. What would you change about this build? I'm looking for 1440p 144Hz and VR gaming performance and quality. Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm looking for some help, advice and guidance on what will be my first PC build for nearly 10 years so I am a bit out of the loop in terms of the latest and greatest. I'm a big Apple Mac fan and have been for quite a while now but I'm keen to get back into gaming and obviously Mac is not the way to do it. I have a top of the line Macbook Pro Retina which I use for all of my work requirements and for all of my email, web browsing and general stuff so the build will be solely for a gaming machine. Requirements are for a high spec gaming rig which will be able to run all of the current AAA games at 1440 with everything up at very high if not ultra settings and I also want future upgradability so not looking for a Z97 based rig. So it'll no doubt be a Z97 based setup with overclocked 4790k CPU (I am open to other options including X99 / 5930k builds, though they are probably well out of my budget). I am assuming it is going to have to be at least an 2 way SLI (NVIDIA or AMD, no loyalties here) setup. I will be overclocking CPU and GFX so I think probably water cooled CPU and GFX if it is possible within the budget. I don't need massive amounts of storage as I have a NAS for that so just enough for games and the OS (single or dual SSD in raid 0?). I will need a monitor as well as keyboard, mouse and speakers (fairly basic will do on the peripherals and speaker front). The monitor choice needs to also suit having my Macbook hooked up to it for work purposes (CAD and Electrical Design work), I was thinking of the 34" LG 21:9 monitor? Case and size wise I would prefer to keep the unit as compact and quiet as possible without compromising performance i.e. no 900D sized cases, mid tower or even cube based such as the 540 Air or R4 type cases. The budget as per the title is approximately $3000 Australian Dollars which is around the $2500 USD mark at the moment, though I could find maybe another $1000 AUD if it was really really required to meet my needs. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Hey all, got a friend looking for good gaming laptops from about the 1.5-3K range. Any suggestions? Preferably not Alienware, they seem to be a ripoff. Thanks.

So, next summer I am getting my own room because I will be a BIG BOY! (My mommy said big boys don't watch Barney!, <---Is that true?) I want to put an all out gaming setup in it! The budget is $5000 NOT including the build, but INCLUDING MONITORS AND PERIPHERALS! So.... Any ideas? Hey @IdeaStormer , any ideas? Reasons: I can't play any game on this rig! Monitors: I would like a triple monitor setup! I want LED lights everywhere! Ask @WinNut , I LOVE them!

Hey L.T.T, I need your help. My friend is recovering from medical situation and because of his smooth recovery, he has been granted one wish on behalf of the hospital. He has chosen to build a Pc and the wish is valued at around $3,000 Canadian (from what i have been told). So, i need your help building this gentleman the definition of computer Swag. ( I'm kidding. ) But i would seriously appreciate any input. Feel free to list or provide anything that might help me out in making Matthews dream come true, i'm looking to build it all through ncix. Thanks LTT. Ben.

Just like in the title. This will be my first personal build. The link I’m going to post just has the main components. No software, peripherals, fans, controllers, etc. FYI, Intel and NVIDIA are preferred. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dGKHpg If I stick with a Z97 build is there anything I should change? With X99 recently being released along with Haswell-e Intel chips and DDR4, Should I be considering X99? Or will a Z97 build be fine for what I’m going to do? Seems to me like X99 is brand new and a little overpriced. Also from what I have been reading a Z97 build should last 3-5 years. One of my biggest hold ups is my monitor setup. Either way I want to run 2 monitors, Only 1 will be used for gaming. I'm really looking for feedback here. All of the reviews I see on the ASUS VG248QE are awesome. That being said it's only 24" and 1080p. I would like to run 27" monitors but the 1ms 144 Hz 27 “ 1080p monitors are $500+. How concerned should I be with 1ms, 144 Hz? The new ASUS ROG PG278Q looks like an amazing monitor. But its $800 dollars, and I would still have to buy a decent 27" to go with it. Also If I went with this option I would run a 2nd 780ti SLI. This would involve adjusting my budget obviously. I will not be ordering parts on 1 November. So the benchmarks of the new NVIDIA GPU will determine if I go with the 780ti or the new GPU. Thanks for the help in advance.

This PC will be used mainly for video and photo editing, and occasionly gaming. I use Preimere Pro and Photoshop Pro, CAD design and 3D design. The majority of the tasks this computer will be doing are work-station orientated, as I make short documentarys and films. I live in Canada, so pricing is in CAD. I want to be able to use this for a while, and have it perform nicely, so I have a budget of $3000+ CAD, not including peripherals. Since I will be using this for editing I will have two monitors, recommendations are welcome. My existing computer (if you would call it that), is a laptop made by HP; and is incapible of any editing. I have put together a tentative parts list, and I would like imput on it. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/PJnmmG This build needs a case, something simplistic, I don't need (or want) crazy LEDs or "gamer" orientated designs. It also may need extra fans (depending on the case), so recommendations are welcome. My friend made this, and said it would fullful my requirements, although I am not so sure. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/LK4Fbv
