This build came about as a fix to some, admittedly, first world problems. First of which, My son had an aging XBox 360 that took several minutes to boot up, and even then had trouble connecting to the local wifi. Secondly, His school had assigned him a web based reading program that doesn't seem to work well with his Cheap $50 tablet. So i decided it was time for him to have his own PC. We set out to build him a machine that met a few key requirements. Schoolwork was top priority, so basic web browsing (with age appropriate limitations), word processing/ Spreadsheet functions. Next on the list was the ability to Stream Movies ie; Netflix and Youtube. Lastly casual gaming such as, Minecraft and some slightly older Lego games. With that all that (especially the gaming part), and our meager $300 budget, used parts were the way to go. We started at Craigslist. Almost immediately scoring an Intel Pentium G4400 Dual-core 3.3 Ghz processor, still sealed in the box, for just $40 (U.S. If you were wondering). And with it's LGA1151 Socket, this provides and Easy upgrade path in the future. Next we went to our local Big box store and managed to get a Msi H110m-a1 Micro-ATX motherboard open box for another $40, giving us 2 DDR4 DIMM slots, a single Pcie x16 slot, and a Pcie x4 Slot.Things were looking pretty good from here. Moving on, we purchased a single 8gb stick of Ballistix sport 2400mhz DDR4 ram to leave a spare slot, once again thinking forward. That unfortunately set us back $55, being the best deal we could find, making it the single most expensive part of the build. Needing something to house and power all this, we took to Newegg. Snagging a flashy, but functional Diypc Solar-M1-r for about 35 bucks. Offering support for a full size ATX motherboard, 2 3.5 inch hard drives and a supplementary 2.5 inch drive as well as Two 5.25inch drive bays. It gives us plenty of room to work and expand down the road. Additionally ordering ourselves an EVGA 430w 80+ white power supply for another $35+shipping to supply all the force lightning the Lego evil emperor needs . For Storage we managed to get ourselves of a 320gb hard drive for free from a derelict laptop that a family member no longer needed. So finally we needed something to draw the frames. It was back to Craigslist, we eventually scoured up a Gigabyte Gtx560Ti OC edition with 1gb VRAM for a scant $25. Not the best card available But it is more than adequate to run light gaming loads at 720p with no problems at all. Utilizing his 32 inch 720p lcd tv as a display saved us the cost of a monitor and even gained a few inches of viewing display for those late weekend nights watching Kung fu panda. For the Operating system we again took the Free route, opting for an inactivated copy of Windows 10 Allowing Me as Dad to use my Digital parenting power to limit his exposure to... well most of the web. To the homework end we chose Apache Open office as our free Microsquish alternative. Adding up to only about $245 with shipping we were able to include the Logitch k270 wireless keyboard and mouse combo at $30 and just cause we could, a 1 foot Logisys remote controlled Rgb strip at 17 bucks. Have $300 to spend and have been looking at getting a 3D printer. I was looking at the Monoprice Select Mini and it was around $200, which is fantastic. It currently has 4/5 stars with 300 reviews but is unavailable. So cna you think of any printer that is around my price range that might be better? Hi I found a dell inspiring on Amazon but it is a very weird configuration that I have never seen before. It has a a9 9400, dual core 2.4-3.2 ghz amd processor and a gtx 960m. The CPU is not hyperthreaded and the great thing about it is that it is only $300. Now that's a great price for a 960m but I was wondering how much the CPU will bottleneck the gpu. I like playing lower end titles such as overewatch at 1080p. Will it still be over 45 fps with this CPU at any settings

Hey guys i'm planning on buying my first ever smartphone (or any phone for that matter) in the next 2 months, what would be a good option? My budget is $300. For now, I really like the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5. Ever since my mom got the Galaxy S4, I've really loved how the screen works and the overall UI. However I'm not apposed to other phones aswell. (I was originally thinking of getting a oneplus, but they are too expensive.) Anyways, what are your thoughts? I'd prefer the phones to be brand new, but if it has to be refurbished, I'm still ok with considering one.

Hello, I'm planning to buy a graphics card for both rendering and gaming that is less that $300. I have an i5-4460 processor with 8gb of ram and I don't know what graphics card is compatible for my processor so it can avoid bottlenecking. 1660 super is one of my choice but I don't know if it will be bottlenecked. Hello guys. So previously, I was thinking of getting a 1440p 60hz monitor, but I heard that 1440p has problems with scaling 1080p content, and that it would never become a true standard. Also, I tend to spend most of my gaming hours playing competitive games like cs:go, so I believe 144hz would definitely help. Eventually, once 4k monitors become cheap, I could pickup a good 60hz one as a second monitor, because that is the next standard. But for now, which 144hz monitor should I get for under $300? All I want is that it comes from a reputable brand, looks decent (aesthetically), and has a good quality tn panel. Please leave me any suggestions. Thank you!
