For everyone looking to build a gaming PC on a $1500 budget, here's the ultimate parts list for January 2014: CPU: Intel Core I7-4770K $319.99 CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i Liquid CPU Cooler $99.99 Motherboard: Asus Z87-A $129.99 RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866MHz CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R $159.99 SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 120GB $99.92 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB WD10EZEX $59.98 GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 $349.99 Case: Corsair Carbide Series 200R $54.98 Case Fans (optional): Kingwin CF-012LB X2 $7.96 Power Supply: Seasonic 80+ Platinum Fully Modular 760W SS-760XP2 $99.99 CD DVD Drive: Asus Part DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS $19.98 OS: Windows 8 64-Bit OEM DVD $97.98 Total:$1499.74 Notes: The system part list was created using PcPartPicker. The total price includes current shipping, sales and rebates. A 760W power supply is overkill. I only chose it so you can add another graphics card if you want later on without upgrading the power supply also. 16GB of RAM is also overkill. The only reason I chose 16GB of RAM is for future upgrades. If I chose 1 8GB module instead, I would run out of bandwidth. If I chose 2 4GB modules, to upgrade, I would have to remove and discard the old RAM (what a waste) to be able to upgrade to 32GB. With 2 8GB modules, you spend a little more now to save on future upgrades later. With 2 8GB modules, I could buy another kit and have 32GB. What do you think?

My eyes are playing tricks on me: Link to purchase: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?SID=G57TopdsEeOriSas14OV6Q0_gXIy3_0_0_0&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&ItemList=Combo.1569658&cm_sp= Please keep in mind it is a mail in rebate, so you have to take the time for that. In order to get the $60 rebate, you have to activate that internet security thingy online and then after that, you have to do click on the "cancel automatic renewal", so that they don't charge your credit card the year after. Here are the instructions from a user on slickdeals: After receipt, activate online [totaldefense.com] or by installing. You card will not be charged but there will be a $1 authorization. During this process you will sign up for their automatic renewal service. Use the link on your account page to "Cancel Automatic Renewal Service" [totaldefense.com]. Doing this will not impact your rebate. You may receive an error if you try to cancel immediately after activation; try again in 10 minutes. Sometimes it may take up to a couple days for the error to clear up. Several users have had issues when trying to cancel with Internet Explorer. If the "Processing Request" message hangs for more than a few seconds, try another browser such as FireFox. Submit rebate Double check your activation code when filling out the registration form. They do not validate the code at this point and a typo may cause your rebate to be denied. As requested, submit your Newegg invoice, not the packing slip, order confirmation, or anything from a third-party payment processor "Proof of purchase of Qualifying Bundle purchase" is your invoice showing both items. Avoid taping over the print on the Total Defense UPC. Acrylic tape can cause thermal labels like the Total Defense UPC to fade. Hot melt tapes Scotch brand packing tapes (except "moving & storage") do not cause this problem. Not needed for these offers, but not deleting as this wiki gets copied around: "Proof of purchase of Qualifying Bundle purchase" is your invoice showing both items. Track your rebate: You can use the "Check Rebate Status" link in the email titled "Rebate Registration Confirmation". You can also enter your information for the $60 rebate at totaldefense.4myrebate.com [4myrebate.com], but not at www.4myrebate.com. Your documentation should be received within a few weeks. If not you need to follow up ASAP. Receive rebate Cancel Automatic Renewal Service if not already done. One year from activation: subscription automatically expires without additional charges.

As a 17 Year old from Singapore. I would say i am quite young to be a member of LinusTechTips. Just wondering how old is the youngest and what exactly are they doing to want to join LinusTechTips? I saw a LTT member profile, his name is Lanoi and he is 12 years old. http://linustechtips.com/main/user/8857-lanoi/ well you better believe he is. He is very dedicated to the LinusTechTips forum and that interests me.He also is very well knowledge about his stuff. So just wanna know the community here more and i'm leaving this Topic with a question. Not how old are you but, "How young are you?" (we all are young ,would glad to know that you are actively in this forum with all these mainly tech related topics but if you have a job or you do something which does not relate to tech, e.g. Chef. Do share them ) A little about my life right now I found Linus only about the end of last year and have been watching him since, i frequently watch his WAN shows now and then. I have loads of school work in the past but my national exams were just over about 2 weeks back. So im finding time to engage with this forum and other things, like finding a part-time job.

^ Dear MSi!\n\nI\'ve just purchased two N780 Lightning VGA cards today to run them in SLI.\nSLI is working fine, however, in the VGA Fan Control software that is supposed to control the 3+3 fans on the cards, I can only control one card\'s fans. When using Afterburner I can only turn the 2+2 side fans up on the two cards, which is disappointing because since I\'m running in SLI I need all the cooling options that I can get.\nPlease, provide me with a solution that I can control all of the fans of both cards with.\nAlso, I can\'t register my cards, the website won\'t accept my legit serial number (from the sticker on the side of the box). What should I do?\n\nThank you in advance, kind regards,\ Dear sir/madam Thanks for contacting MSI technical support. Regarding your concern, I am so sorry that we have no ideal about this.If the two CARDS with SLI,I think that as long as it can adjust the first a graphics card fan speed.it is OK.so I am so sorry that I cannot help you. Thanks for your cooperation in advance! Best Regards, MSI Technical Support Team Dear MSI! I\'m afraid I can\'t accept your answer. I\'ve bought two products that you have manufactured. I\'d like to utilize both of my products to their full extent, and I can\'t do that due to sotware limitations on your part. The correct way of fixing this problem is fixing your software. N780 Lightning has been out for quite a few months, many are using two of these cards in SLI. I\'m not the first one to bring this topic up, and it\'s unresolved. 1. Afterburner should be able to control all the fans on both cards, even seperately - you\'ve actually promised to make Afterburner support the N780 Lightning card, but truly it\'s not supported because of this 2. If Afterburner, for any reason, wouldn\'t control the card to it\'s full extent, the included VGA Fan Control software should be able to do it. It does - but doesn\'t contol a second card. You product\'s box clearly says that it\'s capable of running in an SLI configuration, but your software still won\'t support it. I think that would be an unfair business practice and misleading, false advertising, because the software that\'s supposed to control the card is clearly not ready for using two of them in SLI. I\'m asking you to, please, provide me with a solution that can reliably control these two cards\' cooling in SLI. To help you out, for some reason your software actually sees my second (bottom) card, not the top one. Couldn\'t it be done by some tweak that your VGA Fan Control software would control both cards at the same time with the same settings? I\'d be happy with this solution. Thank you E-mail a week later: Your issue has been closed.

What's the point of this?! The 120mm rad; Push/Push/Pull and the pull fan is a different one too. OC3D made a joke on doing push/push/push/push/push/push/push/push/push/push/pull/pull/pull/pull/pull/pull/pull/pull/pull/pull, and he said it doesn't make any difference, also what Linus said, so putting two fans together without any resistance between it is useless. Any theories on why this guy would do this config?

So as the title says, my friend rather have an XboxOne with just the master chief collection and a Wii U with Smash Bros rather than a PS4 with all its games and upcoming games (not exclusives, all games). I told him that is just an opinion but he claims that it's true for all people. (i know that part was a bit of a troll). My Friend didn't watch E3 2013 or 2014 and he doesn'y watch or read hardly anything about games besides subreddits and he barely knows any current or upcoming exclusives on the PS4. He also doesn't know many games that asre coming to both consoles. What do you guys think? Is my friend right?

So what do you guys think? SuperFlower is the OEM behind the FirePower Silencer MK III. My System is in the Signature! I'm pretty sold on getting this Power Supply but just want to get some of you're opinions! Should 750w be enough for my system? Let me know. Thanks! So I have a list of games from E3, posting this here as most of them will be available on PC. Some not but I might actually buy the game and play it on a friends console (I don't have, nor wish-well not yet- to buy a console). Had a PS3 from a friend for like a year in my possession and loved to play GT5, it was an amazing game. So anyways you can add to the list in your comments, this is my list of games that attracted my eyes on E3 (it's not a specific order): NFS Rivals (yeah I know not many of you NFS fans, but I tried all NFS games in my life so I can't miss this) Drive Club (Another awesome driving game like GranTurismo and Forza series) Tom Clancy's: The Division!! (One that I'm most certainly thrilled about, the graphics are awesome, and the little details are even more) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (Well I'm an AC fan, who isn't :D, and anyone who want to play as an pirate captain assassin, will check this game out too) The Crew (Created by the ones from Driver: SF and Test Drive Unlimited I was expecting something better, but the 10000km supossed road to be available and quite interesting tuning to the cars atracts me. So I'm waiting for some more gameplays to see if I want to even try it out) Titanfall (no need to comment, looks awesome) Watch Dogs!!! (I guess it's one of the most expected games, looks epic, has an interesting way of going around the city, hacking into everything) Thief (I liked Dishonored, and this game is pretty much the same, will give it a try.) CoD: Ghosts (will only play the single player part, don't care much about the game, but the single player was always interesting, though lately it is the same since cod 4 or so, just a few new places around the world :) and some interesting missions) Battlefield 4 (Who wouldn't want to play this? More exactly who wouldn't want the excitement you get when you destroy for the first time a skyscraper and see it collapse making that dust on the whole map, absolutely amazing :) ) Forza 5 and GT6 (no comments again, just that awesome driving games. Maybe only reason to get a console) inFamous Second Son (not sure about this one, but I liked the trailer/e3 gameplay) PES '14 (as all other years since 2010, just to try the demo, I'm not a big fan of soccer but sometimes it's fun. Same with Fifa '14) Batman Arkham Origins (looks good, comment: Batman) Splinter Cell Blacklist (worth a try) Elder Scrolls Online (not a MMO guy, but it's still an interesting game, will check gameplays and who knows maybe get it too) Arma 3 (no comments, awesome game) Saints Row IV (another epic game, can't wait to play it. will get it for sure) Fifa '14 (already stated my thoughts about it above) Dead Rising 3 (looks promising, DR2 was quite relaxing to play online) DayZ (I know it's a mod, but didn't try it yet :) ) GTA V (Will get it for sure, I have all of them from GTA 1 to EFLC, only drawback is my PC :( need more powar! :D ) Well this is my list, hope others have some other stuff to add, comments are not required. I just felt like leaving some. You can contradict me if you want in whatever I said above :). ------------------------------------------------------------ Edit: Games from replies in this thread :) DiRT 4 Mirror's Edge 2 (how could I forget this one, and it's one of the top games I want to try out)
